"Hesse's Best Italian Restaurant 2025" sums it up perfectly. A very welcoming owner, incredibly delicious food, and very fair drink prices. Anyone who's been here once will never settle for another pizzeria. Guaranteed.

Unfortunately, our visit was very disappointing. The service was poor and the staff unfriendly. Nowhere online was it mentioned that payment was cash only. When we found this out, my colleague went to get some cash. While we waited, the waiter grabbed my colleague's arm and pulled him back – completely unacceptable behavior. The food tasted cheap and was served differently than described on the menu, with additional ingredients that weren't listed. Overall, the dish seemed carelessly prepared and of low quality. Furthermore, the restaurant is located in an industrial area, which makes it very noisy and unpleasant. All in all, a very negative experience. We will definitely not be returning and unfortunately cannot recommend this place.

The restaurant is good, and the service is pleasant. However, the seating arrangement is very poor. It's impossible to sit and eat in peace, and finding a seat is difficult. The restaurant should be expanded to at least four times its current size, and the tables should be arranged properly and sensibly. The space is very limited, which is unpleasant for guests. If possible, two or three additional branches should be opened to spread out the crowds and allow guests to eat in peace. Due to the high demand, the service is often slow—sometimes it takes a long time for orders to arrive, and sometimes they are even forgotten. In my opinion, it's time to consider expanding the restaurant. Another major problem is the lack of card payments. This is very frustrating for customers and causes considerable inconvenience. The restaurant should implement card payments as soon as possible.

We come here so often and it's always fresh and exceptionally delicious. The service is top-notch and the food is fantastic. Yesterday we were there with a huge group; the place was packed, but everything was still fresh, delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely.

We were already customers at Giulio's old pizzeria when he deservedly won the "best pizzeria in Frankfurt" award. Since then, Giulio has expanded his location, further improved his menu, and continues to impress with fantastic pizza, equally impressive pasta (Pasta Giulio, definitely highly recommended), and the charm of a pizzeria that radiates the owner's passion.

I came for my annual visit to Germany to visit family. Met up with some friends from elementary school, and my friend HIGHLY recommended this spot. We all hopped in a car and drove to Giulio's. Walked in and was greeted in a way that made me feel at home immediately. The owner seated us and, without asking, brought us a delicious bread, cheese, and salad that was divine. The menu threw me off...because who would think of a pasta, pizza, surf & turf dish? Well...I had to order it. It came out and I was pretty surprised by the size of the dish. The owner then came and cut it at the table, and we were off to the races. Pasta was cooked perfectly. The pizza dough on top was surprisingly...a perfect addition. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the shrimp were even cleaned when they arrived (still had heads on...so beware). I highly recommend coming here. They also had a covered outdoor area for additional seating. It was packed for a Thursday evening.

I was a bit torn about Pizzeria Giulio. The pasta mare was good, a large portion, and at €13, it was a really fair price – you can't complain. The taste was solid, but not quite top-notch. I was a bit disappointed, however, that you can only pay in cash. I had to walk an extra 15 minutes to the gas station to withdraw cash. This was especially annoying because I'd been told beforehand that they also accepted PayPal. To be honest, I found that a bit cheeky. He's not Italian, but when you hear him talk, you immediately think, "He must be from Naples!" 😄 His positive attitude immediately made us feel warmly welcomed. The interior? Everything's a bit mismatched – old school chairs from the 90s, simple tables, and cans from well-known tomato producers as decoration. Luxury? None. Flair? Plenty! We really liked it because you immediately feel at home. You won't find any frills here – instead, you'll find friendliness and high-quality food. As soon as we arrived, the place filled up rapidly. When we heard on the phone that a wait of up to an hour had been announced, we knew: This place is going strong! And sure enough, an hour later, the pizzeria was packed. For dinner: My wife had pizza, I had a pasta dish with a baked pizza on top – visually stunning and tasted absolutely top-notch. The pizza truly reminded us of Italy – and that in the middle of Frankfurt, where something like that is rare. The icing on the cake: We were even asked whether we wanted a cappuccino or espresso. It's not something to be taken for granted! For me, that's a clear sign of quality and top-notch service – and it perfectly rounded off the whole evening. My conclusion: I give everything five stars – friendliness, service, and, of course, the food. From now on, Pizzeria Giulio will be our first port of call when it comes to Italian cuisine.

I came with great anticipation for the Pizza Giulio, and I really enjoyed it. However, I have to deduct two stars because of the service. When I asked for tiramisu, I was told they didn't have any that day. My request for a different dessert was also denied, which was fine. Until I was surprised a few minutes later when I saw the little girl behind me with a dessert, and a customer who had ordered takeout even got a tiramisu. I clearly heard and saw that it was tiramisu. This annoyed me a lot and disappointed my impression. I wish there was more honesty in the service. A misunderstanding would have been acceptable, but if it was a deliberate misrepresentation, that is unacceptable and should not happen in a restaurant.

I had reserved a table for three at 4 p.m. I received a friendly welcome on the phone. We drove 100 kilometers to enjoy the meal. I came across the pizzeria "Giulio" through Instagram. The pizza with steak strips and burrata, as well as the pasta with covered pizza dough in the pan, sounded phenomenal. We simply had to try it. Today was the day. Upon arriving at Giulio, we received a friendly welcome. We could choose whether to sit inside or outside (similar to a conservatory, and surprisingly, it was also well heated). We opted for outside. Once seated, we received the menus fairly quickly. Drinks were ordered quickly and arrived promptly. Our selection was as follows: 3 pizzas with steak strips and burrata, 1 pasta Giulio for two people. The waiter asked us how we wanted the steak strips: medium or well done. We all ordered medium and received medium. Just by looking at the pizza dough, I noticed that they use different types of flour. The porosity of the dough and its airiness were also impeccable. The flavor was also fantastic; everything was perfectly balanced. The tomato sauce alone was delicious. The perfectly medium-cooked steak strips, in my eyes, show that these are professionals at work. The burrata was the icing on the cake, along with the fresh basil leaves. Everything on the pizza was perfectly balanced. The Pasta Giulio was quite an unusual combination, so we wanted to try it too. The pasta was just right for my taste. The tomato sauce brought back fond memories from my childhood and they were wonderful memories. I haven't tasted this tomato sauce anywhere else since my childhood. But you managed to make it taste like it did when I was a little kid and ate at my favorite Italian restaurant. The tiramisu was also a dream. Not too sweet, the coffee flavor was prominent, which I really like. The cream was also very light. You can tell that everything in your kitchen is prepared with love. I have mixed feelings about Pizza Giulio. On the one hand, I love it – the ingredients are extremely fresh and of very high quality. Everything is visibly freshly prepared, and the service is friendly and attentive. The taste is truly top-notch and very delicious! On the other hand, I don't see it as a traditional Italian restaurant, as it's described. The style is more of a modern interpretation – which is interesting, but not quite what you would call "classic Italian." Still, I absolutely recommend it! You can definitely eat very well here once or twice. It's just not a place I would return to regularly. Overall, though, it's a good restaurant with great ingredients and quality.
