Pho 56 in Berlin

Since I have already dined at Pho several times with my loved ones, this review is more than overdue. This Asian restaurant offers the best quality Vietnamese delicacies at good prices and is located in Berlin Charlottenburg near Olivaer Platz in a not too busy area. This restaurant is run by Vietnamese and has a modern interior design. As for the food, my companions each chose the Banh Xeo Viet Crepes as starters and I chose the Mango Chicken Nom Salad. Both dishes were very appetizing. The Bun Tom Ga soups and flat rice noodles were chosen as main courses. Although the pasta dish is served with several types of meat, I prefer to order it with just chicken (I personally think a mix of shrimp, beef and chicken is overkill). Our lunch was completed by the Ban Khoai Mon and Xoi Xoai dessert. These two dishes are enough for three people. As a drink, I can recommend the warming ginger tea, which you can order in a pot, on cold winter days. If desired, we can also pack items to prevent food waste. The staff is very friendly!

The worst red curry I've ever had and it's actually one of my standard dishes. Unfortunately it was very watery, tasted somewhat chemically and the tofu had a taste that it shouldn't have. However, a companion who had a dish with chicken was satisfied, which may be where the good reviews come from.

I really don't understand all the good reviews. I ordered a soup there that consisted entirely of fat, absolutely disgusting. If the soups taste the same as the rest of the food?!

I'm amazed at the many positive reviews. Today I had a somewhat tough summer roll with a salty sauce and then a beef curry with rice. Also too salty and somehow boring.

Nice relaxed restaurant with good food, very generous portions. Good fish and lots of vegetables, which I personally think is great - maybe a little too much sauce. Great prices and never overcrowded, which is why it's probably a lot less arrogant than the competition on Kantstrasse. Clear recommendation!

An ordinary Vietnamese restaurant. The waitress was very dissatisfied with her job.

Authentic! Delicious! Gut und günstig! Affordable! We had the beef pho. The soup had really good flavors and plenty of meat and not too much noodles. We also had the summer rolls with shrimp. As a cherry on top, we ordered it with peanut sauce. Not sure what they mixed it with but it was more like a gravy and really good. Service was friendly and the place has a very nice authentic and professional atmosphere. Will definitely drop by if I am in the area again.

I liked the atmosphere in the restaurant, very relaxed. I can recommend the soup “Bùn Tôm Gá”! And the service was really nice.

The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. The service is very friendly and attentive, you immediately feel at home. The restaurant is often busy, which speaks for the quality. No matter whether you try Pho or other Vietnamese dishes – everything tastes fresh and authentic. I would definitely like to come back!

Lækker mad til rimelige priser, I gode portioner, så ingen går sultne fra bordet. Hyggelige omgivelser, og personalet er virkelig søde. De forstår fint engelsk, der er menukort med engelsk oversættelse, og der kan betales både kontant og med kort.

Had Krosse Ente Curry Pretty good, not great food. PHO on Kant Street has far superior soups. Bummer was the female servers’ rather condescending attitude and noticeable disrespect towards us. Second visit confirmed it.

Das Lokal ist sehr gut eingerichtet, macht einen gepflegten Eindruck. Das Personal ist freundlich, wirkt aber ungelernt und auch etwas unaufmerksam. Das Essen war sehr gut, aber bei allen Gerichten fehlten die auf der Speisekarte angegeben Erdnüsse.

Das Essen ist sehr gut , wir sind Stammkunden. Leider gibt es nur auf Nachfrage einen Kassenbon. Die Bedienung kommt und sagt dir einen Betrag, entweder du glaubst oder forderst den Bon, leider stimmte der angesagte Betrag nicht mit dem Bon überein, es waren 5 Euro zuviel angesagt worden. Nicht schön!!! Wahrscheinlich der Stammgast Bonus 😕😜

Cheapest ingredients...thin whistle guaranteed...a minute after ordering the food was on the table...typical "kitchen preparation"...has absolutely nothing to do with Asian cuisine...more like it cheapest snack quality....never again!!!!!

Tasty Vietnamese food, quick preparation, portion size and prices are good. Nice service. However, sometimes the kitchen or service are not completely attentive when you want to make changes to the dishes. Absolutely not so great if you have allergies and then repeatedly find things in your food that you have canceled because you just can't tolerate them.

Hands off !!!!!! I found a piece of metal sponge in my pho soup. No apology from staff other than “do you want to continue eating?” I got a new portion when I asked. Very bad service and attitude! I'm just speechless and disappointed. Really, you should enjoy yourself in a restaurant, but you can't get that in this restaurant. Just stay away!!!!!!

Most terrible experience Ever!! I found a metal string in my pho soup, the waitress took it out and ask me if I wanna continue eating or should she bring a new one……. Very rude and disrespectful waitress. Terrible service!! It’s absolutely not worth it going there.

Had a pho. Soup taste is weird - too much sugar makes it unbalanced. Lack of Thai basil and spring onion was disappointing also. Beef ball’s texture can be better, beef slice was not very fresh.

Die rote Curry Sauce war definitiv nicht frisch und selbst gemacht. Schmeckte daher sehr künstlich. Gemüse und Reis war ok.

Das zweite Mal hier gewesen nach langer Pause und es hat mir wieder nicht geschmeckt. Die Soßen schmeckten sehr chemisch und die Gerichte lieblos. Das Personal lief in Straßenklamotten rum und das Ambiente ist nicht gemütlich. Das Ganze hat Schnellimbiss-Niveau.

Nhân viên vô học ,trả lời cộc lốc không chủ ngữ vị ngữ và tỏ thái độ khó chịu lồi lõm ra mặt khi khách hỏi mua mỗi cơm trắng . Nhà hết gạo , lóc cóc đi mua cơm ở Pho56 hết 7€ (HỘP MÀU ĐEN) xong vẫn phải đi mua thêm 2€ cơm (HỘP MÀU VÀNG) ở chỗ khác mới đủ ăn , không muốn bán thì bảo luôn không bán , chứ đừng bán cơm kiểu vô nhân tính , khách trả tiền để mua chứ không phải xin .

Not the best Vietnamese restaurant in Berlin. Service was not good in that staff seemed irritated there were customers (pro tip: if you treat customers poorly, they go away). Food delivered was practically thrown on the table. I wish someone had inquired at any point about my meal; I ended up having to get spice condiments from a dirty table across the restaurant while staff just looked on. That said, the condiments definitely helped (I get that this is northern Vietnamese fare, so light on flavor and lots of green onions, but my pho was pretty much a bowl of hot water). Overall, not good and not recommended.

Place and service are fine, even in a Sunday late evening. The food is probably what locals like, but Germany is more famous for making steel than for cooking.

Visitato un paio di volte per la cena. Ambiente ampio, con il classico arredamento vietnamita comunque gradevole e con tavoli ben distanziati. Ottimi i nem di antipasto e molto apprezzati sia la zuppa (pho) sia i piatti di carne (anatra e pollo), saporiti, ben presentati e abbondanti.

One of the worst bowls of Pho I've ever had. Tasted like nothing, which I didn't think was possible with this soup. Very disappointing and for 12 Euros a total ripoff.

Hervorragende frische, heiße Gerichte. Gute Portionsgrößen, unschlagbare Preise. Sehr freundliches Personal. Wir waren einige Male hier, da wir ein Wochenendseminar in der Nähe besuchten, und waren alle begeistert von Qualität und Geschmack. Veganer kommen auch auf ihre Kosten. Leider hat sich das Personal bei jedem Besuch mit den Rechnungsbeträgen vertan, immer zugunsten des Lokals. Zum Teil haben wir das erst später gemerkt. Bei getrennten Rechnungen empfiehlt es sich daher, die Rechnung genauer zu prüfen ;-)

Sehr leckeres Essen, schön nah an unserem Hotel Citadines gelegen Wir konnten draußen sitzen und haben tolles vietnamesisches Essen genossen.

Sehr lange auf Bedienung gewartet und dann auch auf das Essen. Essen war ok aber hat mich nicht umgehauen. Würde ich nicht mehr besuchen.

Hier werden die starke Konkurrenz und die gestiegenen Lebensmittelpreise deutlich. Ich musste z.B.das Rindfleisch in meinem Rindfleischgericht suchen.

Leider von 5 auf 2 Sterne gesunken 😕 Am gestrigen Tag wurde uns das Essen von einer der beiden jüngeren Bedienung (die größere von beiden) äußerst gefährlich serviert. Da wir unter anderem eine „heiße Platte“ hatten, die nunmal sehr heiss ist und zugleich das Essen noch sehr nachkochte, haarscharf an meinem Gesicht vorbeifuhr. Des Weiteren baten wir diese Bedienung am Ende das restliche Essen für uns einzupacken. Die Bedienung wirkte nicht erfreut und hinterließ bei uns ein ungutes Gefühl. Aber dann noch das Essen bei uns am kleinen Tisch in eine Kunststoffverpackung umzufüllen, wirkte völlig daneben. Das sind wie hier leider nicht gewohnt. Schafe.

Leider sind wir sofort wieder gegangen, da wir schon lange kein so unfreundliches Personal erlebt haben. Bei allem Verständnis für Stress und Belastung, hat man sich sehr unwohl gefühlt. Ich wurde auch noch nie aufgefordert den Tisch für andere Gäste zu räumen, kurz nachdem wir uns gesetzt haben.

Ganz spontan, aber dennoch mit Überlegung sind wir in das PHO56 gegangen. Heute Mittag gegen 13:00 Uhr waren nur zwei weitere Gäste da. Die Kellnerin war freundlich und bemüht, ohne dabei lästig oder aufdringlich zu sein. Das Essen kam zügig, unseren Wunsch auf Koriander zu verzichten, kam der Koch nach. Das war für die Qualität des Essens nicht abträglich. Alles war sehr lecker und auch reichlich. Für 11 - 13 Euro kann man da gar nichts sagen. Den Punkt Abzug gibt es nur, weil in der Toilette der Seifensieder defekt war und die Handtücher komplett fehlten.

Schmeckt ganz gut, nicht der beste Vietnamese aber sind gerne dort, weil er gemütlich ist und die Mitarbeiter nett.

Die sehr nette Bedienung hat mir kurz vor Feierabend noch Frühlingsrollen und anderes zubereitet, obwohl die Köche bereits gegangen waren. Alles sehr schmackhaft und familiäre Atmosphäre!

Ein schlichtes Restaurant, welches sich aber sehr gut für eine verhältnismäßig schnelle Mahlzeit macht. Sauber, sehr freundlich, eine gute Karte mit freundlichen Preisen und sehr lecker. Meine Eindrücke decken sich mit denen vom TripAdvisor, der dieses Restaurant auch empfiehlt. Auch für einen Business Lunch sehr geeignet, wenn man sich mit Kollegen beim Essen unterhalten möchte. Klare Empfehlung und gerne wieder.

Zum Essen kann ich nichts sagen. Auch zum Service nicht. Beim Ambiente war ich sehr überrascht. Es gab so das Eine oder Andere was mich an meine Jugend erinnerte.

I mean... Their crispy duck 🦆 is a must! Working or living close-by is either a blessing... Or a curse because you'll end up many times at one of their table! It's no wonder it's (rather) packed for lunch. We are not done with you yet, Crispy Duck 🦆! We'll come back for more!

Pho war sehr lecker. Aber die Gerichte von den anderen war nicht so toll

Ich komme immer wieder gerne ins Pho 56. Das Essen ist stets frisch zubereitet und sehr lecker. Die Atmosphäre ausgesprochen freundlich und angenehm.

Sinn und Zweck eine (lt. Speisekarte ‘hausgemachten’!) Fleischbrühe ist, dass das Aroma des Fleisches IN der Suppe ist. Weswegen dann das Fleisch, das in der Suppe schwimmt meist kaum noch Aroma hat. Bei Pho56 und der gleichnamigen Suppe haben WEDER Suppe NOCH Fleisch nennenswertes Armoma. Mit frischen Koriander und Lauchzwiebel wird geknausert. Kurzum: die Pho ist so anonym, unbeseelt und fad wie das Restaurant selbst. Definitiv gibt es in Berlin besserer und schmackhafte Pho zu einem ähnlichen Preise (12,60EUR)

Preis Leistung passt sehr gut, die Hauptgerichte waren geschmacklich sehr gut, die frittierten Frùhlingsrollen eher neutral, Bier hätte etwas kälter sein können ...alles in allem waren wir zufrieden, kommen aber eher nicht wieder

Laden war Abends um 19 Uhr relativ leer. Mein Freund und ich wollten Fassbier haben, kurz nach der Bestellung erfuhren wir, es gibt kein Fassbier, weil im Keller bei Bier angeblich angesteckt sei und die Damen können es nicht. Eigentlich eine unmögliche Situation. Hab ich bislang in keiner Gastronomie erlebt. Ente Kross habe ich auch schon besser gegessen

Das Essen ist nicht mehr so frisch wie vor paar Jahren.

Wir haben hier schon öfter abends gegessen. Bedienung ist immer sehr freundlich und Essen bezahlbar und gut. Heute waren einfach mal die leckeren Frühlingsrollen für 4,90.- zzgl. Tipp dran. ME sind die Rollen jeden Cent wert. Mir hat die Nr. 7 prima geschmeckt.

Immer wieder gern! Leckeres Essen, super toller Lychee-Saft, schneller und freundlicher Service - und all das zu angemessenen, aber noch günstigen Preisen. Mein absoluter Favorit ist das Mango-Chicken. Ich freu mich schon aufs nächste Mal! 🙂
