Extremely friendly and good food too. We've been there several times now and have never been disappointed.

We were already disappointed with the service on our last two visits. Since the food is usually always good, we decided to try again. Unfortunately, the service was even worse than before. Of the seven items we ordered, only five made it to our table. The appetizer and drink were missing, but they were included on the bill. The waiter reluctantly changed the bill without a word of apology. The "obligatory" ouzo was also missing. I always tip appropriately, but I made an exception here. This was definitely our last visit there.

I ate there today, and it was the worst gyro I've ever eaten. I couldn't eat it; it didn't taste good. Now, four hours later, I still feel sick. And I have diarrhea. I'm never going back to that place. I told the waiter, and he apologized. I had to pay full price even though I ate almost nothing.

Very delicious, and the rest was also perfect, but... Maybe we were just unlucky, but... The table was reserved for a birthday party, and nothing was prepared. We also had to wait a very long time for the food! But as I mentioned, maybe we were just unlucky!

The food always tastes great, and the owner is super friendly and happy to fulfill any request. I enjoy going there with family and friends.

The website offers online reservations, but you don't receive any confirmation, etc. So, unfortunately, I wasn't able to try the restaurant.

It was our first time there. The ambiance was a bit dark, the staff was attentive but not very sharp, and the food, while a matter of taste, was below average for me. The gyro, in particular, was very mediocre, which is actually the hallmark of a typical Greek restaurant. And last but not least, there was no ouzo after the meal. Minor things, but... We'll try a different restaurant next time.

We ate here on Saturday afternoon and had a table outside, which was very pleasant due to the weather. Since we were there relatively early in the evening, our orders came quickly. The servers were all very friendly and accommodated our requests. The portions were generous. The only drawback was that the chicken breast was too dry. What I also find annoying is that the restrooms are located in the basement, making them inaccessible for people with walking difficulties or wheelchair users. Furthermore, the hallway to the restrooms is too dark.

We visited Philoxenia for the first time in a long time. It was the first time under new management. First, the positive: the service was really super friendly and enthusiastic. The food was also very tasty. That's half the battle. However, we didn't like the following points: - Some of the furniture and the restrooms are quite dated and could definitely use some updating. - As mentioned, the service was very friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, a few things still went wrong. The starter was forgotten, a drink was left out during the second round, and the somewhat dreamy waiter wanted to clear the table even though we were still in the middle of our meal. It was quite busy, so we'll be lenient, but there's still room for improvement. - What was unfortunately a complete no-go was the kids' meal. The spaghetti with tomato sauce is definitely not a kids' dish! The sauce is quite spicy and contains a large amount of vegetable chunks – not a classic pasta sauce and not what kids expect. Our daughter absolutely didn't want to eat it. We were glad that the sauce was brought out separately; at least that meant we were safe from dry spaghetti. The almost €10 price tag is unfortunately far too high for what you get. - For us adults, the fries with our main course were unfortunately too small. - Unfortunately, smoking is permitted on the terrace. Because the seating is very close together and the terrace is fairly well "fenced in" by the awning and side walls, you're unfortunately exposed to the smoke. As a non-smoker and with children, this is simply unpleasant and disturbing. We hope this criticism is understandable and perhaps provides some inspiration for improvement. We'd love to come back to try it out :)

This place has been the best Greek restaurant in the area for years! The food has been fantastic since my first visit and has always left me feeling full. It's fresh and served in generous portions, and it's always been delicious. The service is attentive, so you're always left with nothing to be desired. You're always surrounded by a good mood and have a wonderful meal. I always enjoy coming back!

Can I receive with a clear conscience

We were able to celebrate a nice “Dance into May Party” and had a lot of fun!!! The food was really delicious and plentiful! Price-performance ratio was really very good and the service was really great!

We live 70 km away and today we ate here for the first time with friends from North Rhine-Westphalia. From the welcome to the farewell, the food was super friendly and welcoming. Pure hospitality! The Philoxenia impresses with its varied daily specials and great burger variations that impress across the board in terms of taste and price. The restaurant offers a perfect combination of delicious food and very good value for money. Particularly noteworthy are the friendly service and the family atmosphere, which make every visit a completely successful experience. A real highlight in Bargteheide that is always worth a visit! *My favorite dish no. 90 :-)

Today I was at the Philoxenia Restaurant for the third time. I am very impressed by the warmth with which you are welcomed. The food is very tasty and absolutely top. Everything is freshly prepared and you can taste it. The first time I had gyros with fries. Yummy. 2nd time I had the Poseidon plate. My wishes were respected there. Please no calamari or zucchini. Perfect. 3rd time (today) grilled sea bream with roasted potatoes and vegetables. That was delicious. It is a pleasure to dine there. Kind regards, Heike Hupkau

We went to Philoxenia for the first time today, the Petsonal is very friendly and attentive. We chose from the lunch menu. First there was a salad and bread, after a short wait (we liked it) our food arrived. It was superbly prepared. The vegetables were freshly prepared, as was everything else. Every now and then you would come by with an Ozu and at the end there was another one. The price-performance ratio is perfect here. We'll be coming back to Philoxenia soon.

We had very tasty meals here several times in April 2024 and were very satisfied. The grilled vegetables are freshly prepared, the gyros are seasoned just right and nicely crunched, the tzatzi with fresh cucumber and the right amount of garlic tastes wonderfully fresh, the sea bream is cooked to perfection. We were there with a group of 15 people and ate a la carte. Everyone was very satisfied and the price-performance ratio was absolutely right. The atmosphere was pleasant and we were looked after in a very friendly manner. We would like to come again. Thank you very much for that☀️

The food here is always delicious and the portions are big enough to fill you up. It is sometimes very crowded and then you have to wait longer for the food. But I think that's normal and right when it's freshly prepared.

Dear team, unfortunately I have to say repeatedly that your service doesn't work, you constantly have to ask when this or that order will arrive.. Let alone you ask whether you are satisfied or would like something else! We just didn't feel welcome...the still low prices don't help at all...

Wir hatten am Samstag so einen Spaß in dem Restaurant. Essen war super lecker und der Service natürlich und nett. Kommen mit Sicherheit wieder.

Der neue Besitzer macht seine Sache sehr gut. Wir hatten bedenken und sind positiv überrascht.

Ich bin bisher immer sehr zufrieden gewesen mit dem Essen und dem Service. Die Preise sind angemessen und der Besitzer versucht immer Mal was neues, zum Beispiel Gyros-Burger. Der war sehr gut. Alles in allem ist es mein Stammrestaurant geworden. Einziger Kritikpunkt: beim einpacken der Reste kommt nicht alles mit, wie z.B. Pommes.

Hier wird "Gastfreundschaft" groß geschrieben. Der Service ist superfreundlich und sehr aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Das Ambiente ist sehr geschmackvoll, genau wie das Essen. Die Speisen haben eine hohe Qualität und sind sehr ansprechend angerichtet. Sonderwünsche wurden problemlos umgesetzt. Die Preise sind absolut gerechtfertigt. Es lohnt sich - klare Empfehlung!

War Immer eine gute Wahl 👍 Hat aber etwas nachgelassen, beim letzten Besuch hatten wir das Gefühl das man gerne Feierabend machen möchte das war so gegen 20 Uhr . Und leider hat man auch die Biermarke gewechselt . Ist aber auch Geschmacksache. Unter dem alten Besitzer war es auf jedenfall besser 😉. Schade wir waren immer gerne da .

Wir gehen seit März 2023 regelmäßig im Philoxenia essen. Die Abendkarte ist eine gute Auswahl und wird durch wechselnde Gerichte ergänzt. Der Mittagstisch entspricht einem sehr guten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Das Essen hat uns bisher immer sehr gut geschmeckt und auf Sonderwünsche wird immer eingegangen. Wir finden es vor allem gut, dass das Essen nicht, wie so häufig bei griechischen Gerichten, völlig über würzt ist. Die Atmosphäre ist angenehm und der Service bisher immer freundlich und aufmerksam. Hier gab es nichts zu kritisieren. Angefangen beim Service,der Qualität des Essens,den Preisen,dem Umgang mit Kindern und dem Ambiente alles war zu vollster Zufriedenheit. Immer wieder gerne 🤤👍👍👍

Wir haben Essen zum Mitnehmen genommen. Klassisches Gyros, Leber und einen Gemüseteller. Das Gyros war in Ordnung, die Leber so la la. Der Gemüseteller und die Gemüsebeilagen wirkten eher lieblos und waren ziemlich fettig. Vom Essen her also eher durchschnittlich, dafür aber ein guter Service (ein Ouzo wurde mir sogar beim rausholen angeboten) und gemütliches Ambiente.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und nicht überteuert, wie mittlerweile in vielen anderen Restaurants. Personal und Service richtig nett!

Pfui, mehr Arroganz und Unfreundlichkeit vom Kellner ist nicht zu übertreffen. Taramosalata bestand überwiegend aus dicken Kartoffelstücke das Brot nicht mehr frisch und das Bier (Neues Fass mit Wartezeit) war lauwarm ohne Leben. Trotz Beschwerde bei der Bedienung keine Reaktion seitens des Inhabers. Der übliche Ouzo am Tisch war auch nicht drin.
