Food was good but way too overpriced. All dishes in the upper price category. Venison goulash tasted good, but too much sauce. Salads nicely dressed. Fish manageable portion. It's nice to sit outside. The waitresses were all quite attentive and friendly.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the “Philosophenhöhe” restaurant and I can safely say that it was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant impresses with a modern, yet cozy atmosphere. The warm lighting accents and the stylish decoration create an inviting atmosphere. You immediately feel at home, whether you're coming to a romantic dinner or meeting friends. Service: The service was outstanding. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The waiters' recommendations were precise and demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the food and wine. Eat: The menu offers a creative fusion of regional and international dishes. I chose the liver dumpling soup as a starter, which was seasoned perfectly. For the main course I chose the onion roast, which was tender and aromatic. The highlight of the evening was the homemade Kaiserschmarren – a real treat! Drinks: The wine list is carefully compiled and offers a good selection of regional and international wines. The recommended wine for the onion roast went perfectly and rounded off the dish harmoniously. Value for money: Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and the service. Here you get an exceptional culinary experience that is worth every penny. Conclusion “Philosophenhöhe” is an absolute must for every gourmet. You have to find the place first. But then really great! Easily accessible by motorbike and good parking space. Delicious homemade lemonade and a really great burger. However, I have to come back because some of the other dishes on the menu appealed to me. The dessert at the next table also looked really great, but then I wouldn't have been able to get on the motorbike. And the location and the space is really great. You can sit outside, eat in the countryside and really have a great time out!

Ordered roast pork with bread dumpling and grilled plate and it was excellent in terms of quality and craftsmanship, friendly service and the ambience spoke for itself, outside and inside!! Beer garden in a prime location and the “inside atmosphere” is absolutely convincing. Choice of food is very varied, something for everyone. Price/performance for most dishes is absolutely reasonable. In short: definitely recommended ‼️👍

We spontaneously had lunch on the terrace with 12 people. Everyone enjoyed it and enjoyed it (even the weather held up for the 2 and a half hours 😉)

It's not bad but you'd expect a little more for the price. One of the service staff walks past and asks if it tastes good. Without stopping. And before you could answer, she was already at the neighbor's table. The main course was delicious. But the Kaiserschmarrn wasn't good at all. It totally tasted like eggs. The consistency was also more like scrambled eggs. But the location is very nice and quiet.

Cozy place to stop off on the challenging hikes that can be completed in the area. I only had something to drink, but the food at neighboring tables looked good and no one returned anything, unfortunately. Clear recommendation

Great place, with great owners! Had a quiet place just for us and really enjoyed it! Food was bombastic, from starter to main course. I don't even want to start with the dessert plate 😍 everything is high quality! We came especially from the Odenwald and will definitely come back. Can recommend it with a clear conscience.

Everything is great, you can sit very comfortably inside and outside. Very quiet and idyllic location. Food super tasty. Service very attentive, fast and friendly. Prices maybe a little higher but very tasty German and Austrian cuisine.

Discovered by chance, but it won't be the last time we eat here! - Ambience was idyllic, quiet and with a beautiful view - Food felt 100% homemade and extremely tasty, everything was prepared and served with great attention to detail, food was traditional Austrian and German home cooking and the selection on the menu offers something for every taste. - The chef came over personally after the meal and asked if everything was to our satisfaction - Food was prepared very quickly with a short waiting time (15-20 minutes) and was very fresh and hot - Staff was very friendly and helpful, drinks and special requests were served as quickly as possible - Staff asked at regular intervals whether anything else was needed/wanted, but without being intrusive - Payment is possible with cash and card - Parking is good

I am not today's standard. The food is probably good, but now there seems to be no limits when it comes to prices. Absolutely crazy. If I have to pay €7.50 for a piece of Sachertorte, the joy of eating out stops. As I said, I'm not the benchmark. I won't do this to myself.

Beautiful excursion restaurant above Bad Orb. It's great to sit outside. The service is friendly and quick. My favorite dish is the forum fillet with a bombastic horseradish sauce.

A fine place on the edge of the forest with a beautiful view of the Orb Valley. Absolute peace except for sheep and peacocks. Food is very good. Anyone who likes Austrian cuisine is in good hands. Nice service! I will gladly come again!

We were there for the first time on the weekend. We reserved a table in the outdoor area at short notice before our visit. The employees are very hospitable and super nice. My husband had the veal Wiener Schnitzel and I had the baked potato with vegetables. Big thanks to the chef for the delicious food. We were very impressed with the taste. This was our first visit but definitely not the last.

We ate here for the 3rd time today and since the operator changed, the cuisine has been delicious and really top notch. Service is very friendly and on the ball. The location is also unique and there are enough parking spaces available. Can only recommend the restaurant. The portions are very nicely prepared and sufficiently large. Price performance is top 👍

Great location in a forest, beautifully decorated restaurant with attentive and polite service. The homemade lemonade tasted very good. Our main courses (zucchini pancakes with spinach and feta cheese filling in tomato sauce with baked potatoes and salad as well as a trio of beetroot dumplings, spinach dumplings and cheese dumplings browned in butter with parmesan and small mixed leaf salad) were very, very tasty. It was really great here. We'd love to come back.

A great restaurant in a nice atmosphere. Located somewhat on the mountain, you have a little peace and quiet from the hustle and bustle in winter, and the view is certainly even more beautiful in summer. The service is fast, friendly and always present without being intrusive. The food itself is very tasty and the portions are large. In terms of price, it's perfectly fine for a health resort considering the overall package. We'd love to come back :-)

Wir gehen wirklich immer wieder gern dort hin. Egal ob im Sommer im Biergarten mitten in der Natur, oder im Winter drinnen im tollen kuscheligem Ambiente. Die Speisekarte liest sich wie in einem tollen Sternerestaurant, jedoch die Preise sind Zeitüblich und die Portionen eher Wirtshausgröße. Also alles Top. Hervorzuheben die netten Wirtsleute: Koch und Wirtin.

Absolute Spitze, das Essen war perfekt zubereitet und sehr sehr lecker, kaum Wartezeit für die Qualität, die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Ambiente ist sehr wohlfühlend und romantisch, Fall sie vor haben im Hotel an der Toskana zu übernachten und nach einem guten Restaurant suchen sind sie hier absolut richtig, die meisten Restaurants hier in der Umgebung haben falsche Öffnungszeiten Zeiten, online einen unangekündigten Betriebs Urlaub oder so schlechte Rezessionen dass das hier extrem raussticht. Nur zu empfehlen.

Traumhaft schöner Ort mit Kulinarik, die es so auf keiner anderen Karte in Bad Orb gibt. Das Ambiente im Lokal und die Umgebung der Location sucht ihresgleichen. Ein Genuss für den Leib und ein Kurzurlaub für die Seele.

Sehr leckeres Essen und ein Fantastisches Ambiente. Bur eine sache missfällt MIR TOTAL. Und zwar, wenn ich kese dass es zur Vorspeiße geröstetes Brot gibt, erwarte ich dies auch, da mein Kopf schon damit rechnet. Und wenn man dann Toastbrot bekommt is das doof. Als Anmerkung noch, das war nicht nur einmal so dass man Argumentieren könnte, das dass Brot alle wäre, sondern öffters!

Unvergesslichen abend dort verbracht. Alleine die Anfahrt war spannend. Das Restaurant liegt am Waldesrand, man kann schöne Spaziergänge von dort aus starten. Die Lage wa einfach schön. Zum Essen.. Eine wirklich reiche Auswahl hat man. Egal was wir bestellten (15 Personen) war alles Top, frisch und lecker. Den Hugo mit selbstgemachten Holundersirup kann ich nur empfehlen. Die Bedienungen und auch die Chefs waren wirklich alle sehr nett. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder

Top Restaurant und Top Essen aus Deutscher und Österreichischer Küche. Der Service ist sehr hervorragend gewesen. Das Ambiente ist echt schön zum draußen essen grad mit dem Blick auf Bad Orb. Die Portionen sind genau richtig und sind spitze zubereitet. Hatte als Vorspeise den Lauwarmen Bauernsalat. Und als Hauptgang das Tiroler Gröstl. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur wärmestens empfehlen, wenn man mal ausklingen und schön Speisen will.

Meine Freundin und ich waren heute nach einer Wanderung in der Philosophenhöhe essen. Ich kenne das Lokal noch von früher. Es wurde mittlerweile sehr schön renoviert. Das Essen ist super gut, sie haben auch wunderbare vegetarische Gerichte. Die ganze Familie ist in dem Restaurant engagiert und sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alles in allem ein wunderschönes Restaurant mit einer sehr guten Küche und sehr freundlicher Gastfamilie und Mitarbeitern. Und noch ein Pluspunkt ist, daß die Küche Sonntags durchgehend geöffnet hat.Wir kommen gerne wieder.
