The food wasn't of the quality that would have been appropriate for the price. We both agree that we won't eat here again. Overall, the food and drinks are overpriced.

Very good service and a really nice atmosphere. The food was unfortunately mediocre. Nothing special. Unfortunately, there's not much of the flavors advertised on the website. For the price, you can certainly dine with more refinement in Cologne.

Even though there were vacant tables, everything was marked as reserved. Having traveled to several countries, I found this to be one of my least pleasant dining experiences. If guests are not welcome without a reservation, it would be better to communicate this more politely. Some of the comments made, such as “you don’t need to come back,” were quite disappointing.

Everything's just right at Restaurant Phaedra! A cozy atmosphere. Top-notch dishes, whether mezze, appetizer, main course, or dessert. Delicious bread, olive oil, etc. An absolutely top-notch wine selection. Top-notch service and staff! Special requests are easily accommodated. Parking garage nearby. A truly relaxing experience!

We had the 4 course menu. The tuna starter was amazing and the final steak/fish as well. In fact i think the steak was one of the best I ever had. The second course was a pasta that had an amazing sause but we think they lost the cooking point. We asked to return and the new one came the same way. Desert was not so nice either. Service was slow in comparison with other redtaurants. In summary we would return but not for the menu.

I had the four-course vegetarian menu. Considering that the mini tabbouleh salad à la carte costs €17, I can't quite fathom the expense, given the amount of ingredients and effort involved. The paccheri with octopus salad (I swapped the summer vegetables with my companion) was delicious, but again, only for four people. The risotto with (a thin) slice of eggplant had a slightly bitter, burnt aftertaste. The baked apricots at the end were excellent, though. I didn't choose a wine pairing, but my companion wasn't impressed by hers. You sometimes sit very close to strangers, which is a must.

If you're looking for a special evening with fantastic food in a great atmosphere, served by a very welcoming host and excellent service, this is the place for you. Every course is a pure explosion of flavor. The dishes change frequently... Boredom never happens here... the chef is brimming with creativity. Another great thing is that you can buy a special Greek olive oil here (including honey, spices, etc.) - I prefer the 3-liter canister of olive oil 🫶🏻 and happily carry it home like a precious handbag 🫶🏻

Very delicious!!! The dishes are very exquisite, and the four-course menu is very cost-effective, but there is a dining time limit, so if you are late, you may not be able to enjoy it. The business is super good and the atmosphere is good. You need to book a table in advance.

We arrived at 6:30 p.m., our reserved time, and ordered an aperitif. Service was excellent and attentive. The aperitif was delicious. We ordered our food at 7:10 p.m. The main course arrived at 9:45 p.m.! At the time of ordering, it wasn't busy. Over the course of the evening, the restaurant filled up until all the seats were taken. Nevertheless, we were among the first guests. The wait times, even after explicitly requesting and repeatedly asking about the dishes, are absolutely unacceptable. We had explicitly mentioned our small child and two people with celiac disease prior to making the reservation. The answer: no problem, we can prepare something off the menu for the child, and we will provide gluten-free bread. The gluten-free bread consisted of four small slices and was quite old. It tasted like cardboard. The children's dish did pose a problem that evening. After some persuasion, we were finally able to order pasta with vegetables. When they arrived after a long wait for the very hungry child, they were so seasoned with chili that even the adults quickly reached for the water glass when they tasted them. The waitress said a replacement wasn't possible because it would have been too busy. We then had to get food for our child from a neighboring restaurant. At least she was allowed to eat it with us at Phaedra. For two people, the mezze and side salad were completely oversalted. The grilled vegetables starter had peppers that were so overcooked that they lost all their bite and were essentially mush. Additionally, the kitchen had sent one dish out of order. Conclusion: very good service, really bad food. A restaurant with a lot of hype that doesn't live up to its promise. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

Absolute recommendation! We have been to Phaedra several times now and can only recommend the menu with the appropriate wine accompaniment. Always delicious, very nice service, nice ambience - successful evenings.

An all-round successful evening! The food was simply fantastic – varied, creative and with great combinations that really inspire. I would particularly like to highlight the roasted white asparagus – a real taste explosion! The lamb was cooked to perfection and had a wonderful flavor from the grill. The staff were also consistently friendly and attentive. The open kitchen was a real highlight: it was nice to see how calm and harmonious people worked there - that creates trust and atmosphere. The wine accompaniment to the main course was excellent and rounded off the taste experience perfectly. We'll definitely be back!

Modern Greek food, well presented. We eat out a lot, including Greek, although this is usually traditional in Germany. The Phaedra is a great exception here. For us it was the best Greek food outside of Greece. The white Taramas is a dream, the octopus is tender and rare and the flavors are wonderful. It's a shame we don't live around the corner...

Chic restaurant with Greek-Mediterranean cuisine. Reservation recommended. There are seats inside and outside. The friendly service is quite attentive, but with room for improvement. One or two drinks were forgotten and an appetizer was not brought correctly. However, constructive criticism was largely accepted professionally. The food: warm bread and the oil was very tasty. Scallops finely cooked and well seasoned. Unfortunately, octopus was sliced ​​(should be mentioned in the menu) and not served whole, missing roasted flavors and priced too high. The hanging tender for the main course was a dream, grilled to perfection and with a unique taste. The Bernaise sauce went perfectly with it and the triple cooked fries also tasted exceptionally good. Wine recommendations are good, but sometimes the prices are too high for a 0.1 glass. For the constructive criticism given in a personal conversation, there could perhaps have been a small drink at the end as a token of appreciation.

**Atmosphere** Modern and cozy. The lighting is unfortunately a bit bright and sometimes shines directly in your face. My partner found this particularly unpleasant. However, the lighting could be dimmed to 50%. My table neighbors were happy about the suggestion. **Service** Friendly and helpful. However, it has a bit of a student-like feel to it. Doesn't quite fit the ambiance. Some of the food wasn't set up correctly. **Food** Appetizer: We had pasta with feta and scallops. The presentation of the pasta was poor, as was the taste. Considering the price, it was 1 out of 5. The scallops were okay but rather basic in taste. Considering the price, it was also quite reasonable. 2/5 Main Course: We had a steak and fish. The steak was very good. Very, very fine in flavor. Unfortunately, the dish was marred by the side dishes. The fries were bland, the mayo lacked refinement, and the salad was carelessly tossed into a bowl with a bland dressing. Considering the price of €46, you'd definitely expect more. Meat 5/5, Sides 2/5 The fish was good. The broccoli was crisp and perfect. The sauce brought down the whole experience. Watery and sour. It didn't fit together. However, the sauce at the next table was thicker. I conclude from this that the quality from the kitchen isn't the same. Fish 4/5, Side 3/5. Dessert: To sum it up briefly: 4/5. Very tasty. You can really eat it here. The espresso wasn't good. Much too hot and brewed for a long time. All in all, the two of us spent €190 for an aperitif, starter, main course, and dessert. No wine. The restaurant is definitely top-notch in terms of quality. From my personal point of view, there is potential for improvement in many areas.

As we all know, taste is subjective; everyone can make up their own mind. The monkfish didn't suit my taste, and neither did the wines served with the courses. Sometimes more vinegar than wine. People aren't used to criticism here, so the hospitality ended quickly. As other reviewers have already noted, we are in the upper league when it comes to prices; other restaurants are right there, but this is not one of them. Clearly not a recommendation.

Small restaurant in the southern part of the city with Greek-Mediterranean cuisine. Two 4-course menus (one of which is vegetarian) are offered, each with wine accompaniment and food à la carte. We decided to browse the menu and share the dishes so we could try as much as possible. Everything tasted really delicious. Only the owner probably knows why a kohlrabi and pointed cabbage salad is on the menu for €15.00. I think that's too much. Overall, prices are at a high level. Since the restaurant was fully booked, this didn't seem to bother the guests. Our sommelier was really great. We chose the wine accompaniment to the menu. Since we hadn't chosen the menu, she put together a customized wine accompaniment for our dishes. She knowledgeably guided us through the wines and also explained why the wine in particular goes well with the food. That was charming and helpful at the same time. We would recommend the phaedra and will definitely come back.

Maybe the food is good, but you walk in and aren't greeted by the oh-so-fine Kostas, who also thinks he has a 5-star restaurant in Paris. One is offered a rancid seat at the bar. No, I don't spend over €100 here and sit at the bar. People assume that you have deleted your call list because they called you three times, which is simply not true. But we called on Thursday and our reservation, which we made 3 weeks earlier, was confirmed again. You try to have a conversation and Kostas behaves like a toddler so that the guests on site don't notice his incompetence as a boss. The employees have obviously made mistakes and the blame is being placed on the customer. The main thing is that the fine image you have convinced yourself is not damaged. I don't even want to start talking about misogyny or, in my case, racism because of the color of my skin. This store, or rather the owner, deserves zero stars.

The first impression of the restaurant is very good. Unfortunately, the service staff lacks the necessary competence to support this first impression. The dishes and their presentation are very nicely prepared and delicious. The wine list is good, although a little overpriced (by a factor of 4 to 5). Unfortunately, some of the pricing of the food amounts to an unsightly rip-off, which this restaurant doesn't need at all. An example is a 500g entrecôte for 2 people , which at €98 is significantly (!) overpriced. When we asked why the steak could only be ordered for two people, the waiter told us that it could only be served on 500g piece to meet the taste requirements of the house (stupid stuff). sold stupidly. Furthermore, the kitchen is set up a bit inflexibly, so that none of our “special requests” could be responded to If you want to retain guests who are willing to pay more than €120+x per person for dinner, then you should respect them appropriately.

Booked this restaurant however due to a flight delay which was out of our control we couldn’t make the reservation and were charged over 100 Euros. We called to cancel and they said they couldn’t do anything. A bit absurd when you can’t make it due to something out of control. Horrible customer service

**Restaurantkritik: Ein Genuss für alle Sinne** Wer auf der Suche nach einem authentischen griechischen Erlebnis ist, wird hier fündig. Vom ersten Moment an wird man von einem **außerordentlich freundlichen und aufmerksamen Service** empfangen, der es versteht, den Abend unaufdringlich, aber dennoch herzlich zu gestalten. Besonders bemerkenswert: Das Team ist jederzeit aufmerksam und sorgt dafür, dass es an nichts fehlt. Die **offene Küche** erlaubt einen direkten Blick auf die Zubereitung der Gerichte und vermittelt das Gefühl von Transparenz und Qualität. Hier wird mit viel Liebe und Hingabe gekocht – das sieht und schmeckt man. Zum Start gab es **Jakobsmuscheln ** und **Anchovies** – beides perfekt abgestimmt. Die Muschel waren zart und aromatisch, die Anchovies intensiver im Geschmack, jedoch harmonisch und nicht zu salzig. Der Höhepunkt war der **Oktopus**: zart und wunderbar gegrillt, mit einer feinen, rauchigen Note. Ein Highlight des Abends war ohne Zweifel das **frisch zubereitete Pita-Brot**. Es kam warm und hausgemacht auf den Tisch, mit einer perfekt abgestimmten Konsistenz, die den Geschmack jeder Speise hervorragend ergänzte. Die **Weinkarte** sticht besonders hervor. Sie ist nicht nur umfangreich, sondern auch außergewöhnlich und bietet eine sorgfältige Auswahl an Weinen, die perfekt auf die Gerichte abgestimmt sind. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Auswahl griechischer Weine, die den authentischen Charakter der Speisen wunderbar unterstreichen und den Gaumen auf eine besondere Reise entführen. Alles in allem bietet dieses Restaurant eine rundum gelungene Erfahrung, bei der sowohl die Qualität der Speisen als auch der Service absolut überzeugen. Wer auf der Suche nach einem authentischen griechischen Abend in stilvollem Ambiente ist, wird hier nicht enttäuscht.

Recommendation in Cologne's Südstadt. Great creations beyond the 0815 at a high level of taste. Good service in a timeless atmosphere. Huge wine list. Unfortunately, the main course of the 4-course menu was significantly inferior. A bit too expensive for that.

The Phaedra is an incredibly beautiful and atmospheric restaurant where very nice people work. The food is actually almost at star level (except the portions are larger) - so so delicious.

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal im Phaedra und haben uns von Beginn an wohlgefühlt. Dazu haben das sehr schöne Ambiente und der tolle Service beigetragen. Unser Sohn entschied sich für das Menü, das nicht nur sehr abwechslungsreich, sondern von ausgezeichneter Qualität war. Meine Frau und ich wurden auf unsere Nachfrage hin, bei der Speisenfolge, als auch beim Wein (vom Chef persönlich) sehr gut beraten. Es war ein tolles Erlebnis und ein wunderschöner Nachmittag/Abend.

Das Restaurant hat Potenzial, aber die Überraschung war, dass sie unseren Tisch für eine zweite Runde um 20:30 Uhr reserviert hatten und wir erst um 18:30 Uhr ankamen. Zwei Stunden zum Essen sind nicht das, was ich von einem Restaurant, das im Michelin- Guide aufgeführt ist, erwartet hätte. Anscheinend steht es auf der Website, aber ich hätte nicht gebucht, wenn ich das gewusst hätte. Schade, denn die Küche ist sehr gut!

Das Menü und die Weinbegleitung waren hervorragend. Auch der Service ist sehr nett. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Tolle Location… wir kommen gerne wieder.

The wines were all stimming and there were a few surprises. It was particularly interesting for us to get to know Greek wines.

wir waren das erste Mal im Phaedra. Aufmerksamer aber nicht aufdringlicher Service. Gemütliche Einrichtung, gute Atmosphäre. Die Speisen waren von der Mezze über die Vorspeisen, Hauptgericht und Dessert sehr gut. Ansprechende Präsentation und tolle Aromen. Umfangreiche und gut sortierte Weinkarte, bei der auch keine Wünsche offenbleiben. Macht insgesamt Lust auf mehr, auch einmal für zwischendurch nur für Mezze und oder Hauptgang mit einem guten Glas Wein. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen

Because of the good reviews and attractive photos, the two of us visited the Phaedra. The service was friendly and attentive. The ambience is nice. We had five different dishes, including the risotto with octopus, which I found tastiest after adding salt. The rest was - sorry! - boring in taste!! The portions are also very small and we found the prices to be overpriced. This also applies to wine. Fine dining without a corresponding taste experience is no fun. There are much better addresses in Cologne. But since there are so many good reviews, there may have been a different cast in the kitchen who were good at cooking but lacked courage when it came to spices. In any case, our conclusion: what a shame!

Fine dining for two. 2x 3-course menus put together and exchanged. Everything was very nicely prepared, not exceptional but very tasty. I particularly remember the Risotto Nero and the Hanging Tender Loin, although I actually avoid US prime beef. Prices are high, the atmosphere is small, cozy, rustic. Service very attentive, friendly and quick. If you're expecting a typical Greek meal, you should definitely study the menu beforehand to avoid disappointment. Clear recommendation!

It was an absolutely wonderful evening at Phaedra. A very nice restaurant, super cozy and stylishly furnished. The service was very attentive, courteous and friendly. You could feel the good teamwork and fun at work. I ate the four-course menu (without the entrecôte, which I was able to try and tasted fantastic!), which tasted wonderful. I would particularly like to highlight the stuffed sardines and the sepia risotto with octopus. The wines were also very good and I received very satisfactory advice here. So all in all a great evening and a highly recommended restaurant! Keep it up! I'd love to come back.

Mediterranean top restaurant. There were two of us here and we each had a 4-course menu (vegetarian & meat). Important: If you don't like a course, you can switch between meat and vegetarian at that point. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was chic. The price is very high, but also very tasty. Instead of the appropriate wine accompaniment for €44 per person. We took a wine from the menu, which was also very good. The Phaedra is a restaurant for a special evening :) we would love to come back. P.s. Our favorite was the sepia risotto with octopus - amazing!

Tolles Ambiente, Essen ist gut, aber für den Preis muss man nicht unbedingt nochmal haben. Ein Glas selbstgemachte Limo für 8,50€ , naja. Ambiente und Service sind prima.

Besonders die Mezze hervorragend. Die Rotbarbe war köstlich, die Spitzpaprika-beilage dazu etwas wenig würzig. Wir kommen wieder werden Mezze und Vorspeisen essen. Die Weinempfehlungen zu den Gerichten waren top!

Waren gestern mit Freunden hier und wie immer (bis auf vielleicht die Lautstärke) passte alles 👍🏻 Aal und Rotbarbe, vorher Sardinen und Calamaretti waren mit ihren Beilagen köstlich und völlig ausreichend. Dazu einen für uns mal neuen Champagner, danach einen phantastischen griechischen Viognier, den wir jetzt schon öfter genommen haben auf Empfehlung des Chefs, gefolgt von einem weißen Burgunder. Zum Dessert passte der griechische Dessertwein auch sehr gut. Wir kommen bald wieder! Danke ans super freundliche Team!

The food and wine were delicious, but the service was not very attentive: the table was not wiped before dessert, even though it was covered in crumbs. I asked via email and again verbally on site to put candles on my husband's dessert table as it was his birthday, but this was not done. I think the service is not appropriate for the price.

One of the best spots for casual fine dining in Cologne! - Update: after several more absolutely wonderful visits phaedra not only confirms the rating, but manages to one up itself almost every time.

We went to Phaedra for the first time last Friday for our anniversary and immediately loved it! My wife and I both had 4 courses and each course was a poem. The service is very attentive and friendly, the atmosphere is modern and cozy. I usually rarely eat fish and almost only drink red wine. At Phaedra I had fish and the recommended white wines, both of which I absolutely loved. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Es war, wie immer, perfekt! Lediglich die Preise (Gegrillte Koteletts vom Salzwiesenlamm für € 46 .-???) fanden wir teilweise deutlich übertrieben.

Es war eine Freude, den Empfehlungen gefolgt zu sein und hier gegessen zu haben. Die Freundlichkeit des Service und die Qualität der Speisen, wirklich Spitze. Dazu ein sehr angenehmes Ambiente. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Went there for the second time and was disappointed because the performance had dropped significantly. The service was very poor and the food could no longer live up to the high prices (€250 per couple without dessert).

As a Cologne resident you know a few restaurants, but the phaedra was completely new to us. A little pearl in the southern part of town on Elsasstr. impressed us. The ambience is timeless and very tastefully decorated. The atmosphere is warm and engaging, thanks to the friendly and courteous service. There were non-alcoholic cocktails which were a good alternative which we chose. The starters were very well portioned and tasty. My plate, consisting of beet variations, was very well coordinated with horseradish and various elements. As a second variant we chose fish with broad beans on tomatoes. Also very well done and the interaction on the fork is simply delicious. There were scallops as an intermediate course. A surprising but super good highlight. Simply great. They were caramelized and sat in a very delicate broth. The main course was fish and meat. Both dishes were very delicate and tasted wonderfully seasoned and arranged. Another highlight was the tangerine cream dessert. Wow!!! Tangerine ice cream was bedded on sheets of shortcrust pastry like cookies, topped with a tangerine foam and small pieces. A wonderful fruity and light experience. Finally, I would particularly like to mention a perfectly tasting Decaf Espresso. I had the best drink here in a long time. Thank you. We give 5/5 points and recommend the phaedra 100%. Thanks to the whole team. You have a wonderful pearl in the southern part of the city.
