Wir hatten zwei Mezze, das Lammkaree und die Wachtelbrust. Die Wachtelbrust war teilweise roh, was aber direkt behoben wurde. Die Portionen waren sehr klein und deswegen total überteuert. Hier gibt es mit Sicherheit genügend Alternativen. Also kein Muss! Ambiente war aber sehr gemütlich.

Insgesamt ein schöner Aufenthalt, wir werden sicherlich wieder hingehen. Aber leider waren im Meeresfrüchtesalat kaum Meeresfrüchte zu finden. Wir haben dies, weil die Atmosphäre ingesamt sehr schön, war nicht reklamiert, was ich inzwischen sehr bedaure. Der Fisch in der Hauptspeise war allerdings grandios.

Sorry, wir waren zu sechst, das erste Mal dort und wir hatten mehr erwartet. Beim Meeresfrüchtesalat hatte man mehr oder weniger die Meeresfrüchte vergessen, bis auf ein Hummerstückchen. Beim Hinweis entschuldigte man sich und machte es mit den Einlagen bei der Bouillabaisse wieder gut, auch wurde nur ein Salat berechnet. Das war eine nette Geste. Alles in Allem waren wir von den Speisen in diesem Preissegment nicht überzeugt. Eigentlich schade, denn es ist eine schöne Location mit nettem Personal.

Alles war einfach perfekt. Von der sehr freundlichen und aufmerksamen Bedienung bis hin zum unglaublich leckeren Essen hat einfach alles gestimmt. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Ein besonderes Lob auch an den sehr netten Küchenchef – man merkt, dass hier mit Leidenschaft gekocht wird. Wir kommen definitiv wieder und können das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen.

Essenauswahl sehr unterschiedlich, für jeden etwas dabei. Tolle Menüs! Frisch zubereitet, man kann etwas in die Küche blicken, alles ist sehr schön zubereitet, das Auge isst mit! Es wird auf Allergien eingegangen. Weinauswahl pro Glas sehr gut! Flaschenweinpreise viel zu hoch angesetzt, da ist deutlich Spielraum nach unten -> sicherlich würden diese dann mehr ausprobiert werden.

The fine dining experience was not as I expected it to be. Having been there two years previously. The aromas of the first dish were dominated too much by the seaweed. The second dish, Coquilles St. Jaques, where prepared well, but a bit bland in presentation. My rabbit main dish was altogether a disappointment to me. Too much topping and a sauce that overwhelmed the rabbit, making it's taste indistinguishable. The main course of my wife, the beef tagliata was good, but the fries were not adequate in that price category. The dessert was a selfmade ice-cream with spice and a tarte of quince. Well made! The wines served as accompanied by the sommelier were good. From 1 to 3% of the world. All in all I found it be too expensive for what we got. For four people 680€ should leave us with a better impression. I know they can. Sorry for posting my rather disappointing view on our visit to your beautiful restaurant. Sincerely yours, Hub.

We had the set menu – four courses in almost three hours. The wait was an absolute disaster. If you want guests to have enough time and not feel rushed, please communicate this in advance. The starters were good, but unfortunately, it got progressively worse. It culminated in a very basic cheese platter with no special cheeses. They forgot the bread at the beginning and with the cheese. The service was mediocre, the food was freezing cold, and there was no nice lighting or atmosphere. For the price, I definitely can't recommend it.

I have many years of experience in the restaurant industry. For me, Phaedra is an oasis of aromas and diverse Mediterranean flavors. This abundance of exotic fruits, herbs, vegetables, meat, and fish is rare. Rarely does it offer such authentic cuisine in Cologne. Chef Kostas Tzikas combines the foods of his childhood with contemporary preparation methods. Whether it's quince, pomegranate, or fig, he conjures up delicious creations on the plate. The fish tastes exactly as it should—usually grilled, with organic olive oil and lemon. Simplicity in food is invaluable and, for me, the secret to good cuisine. And what's crucial: the preparation in front of the guests—an open kitchen where everyone can watch. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The service is attentive, not overly friendly. What I find truly impressive: the chef is an excellent connoisseur of exquisite wine. Of course, good food is always a subjective experience. I highly recommend Phaedra.

Als Verbesserung würde ich empfehlen, einen kräftigeren, vollmundigeren Rotwein anzubieten als denjenigen, der derzeit zu diesem Menü gereicht wird.

I hesitated for a long time before leaving a review, as I usually only give 5-star ratings. To begin with, I was very disappointed, as the restaurant was recommended to me by friends who enjoyed going to gourmet restaurants, and we didn't mind the 100km drive. The service was excellent, absolutely no complaints there, the space and ambiance were lovely, and the presentation of the food was impressive, but the taste... I don't even know how to describe it. There was nothing that my taste buds recognized. Maybe it was just my day, I thought, but everyone at the table was more or less complaining. I'm not sure yet if I'll go back, as our bill was very high and didn't reflect the quality of the food. It's a real shame... But you should try it for yourself; maybe it was just the wrong day in the wrong place...

Phaedra leans hard into the “serious dinner” vibe. White-tablecloth energy, very proper service, and an atmosphere that feels a bit uptight rather than relaxed or cozy. If you’re in the mood for a classic, slightly stiff German-style evening out, it fits. If you’re after warmth or casual charm, it doesn’t. The food itself is… fine. Starters are genuinely good and feel the most thought-through part of the menu. Mains are okay but nothing that justifies the prices. The clear highlight is the wine list: excellent selection, well curated, and the waiter knows what they’re doing with pairings. Service overall is friendly, attentive, and professional. The problem is the balance: given the overall quality of the dishes and the rather cold atmosphere, the place comes across as very overpriced and a bit pretentious. Worth it only if you specifically want a formal night out with strong wines and polished service, and care less about value for money or a relaxed mood.

Nun ja. Der laut Karte trockene Champagner hatte eine Honignote. Die Vorspeise war in Ordnung. Mein Steinbutt war zentral noch gerade blutig dazu gab es Kartoffeln mit grüner Mayo. Dem Kaninchenragout mangelte es an Kaninchen. Dafür gab es mehr Pasta. Das Dessert war okay. Insgesamt habe ich für 321,00 Euro für 3 Personen schon deutlich besser gespiesen. Die Heizung war an dem Abend ausgefallen, es wurde zunehmend kälter und als meine Partnerin zum Schluss nach einem Digestif auf's Haus auf Grund der Kälte fragte, wurde uns nach deutlichem Zögern ein Ouzo angeboten. Eine Alternative dazu wurde abgelehnt. Insgesamt enttäuschend.

The food was good, though not spectacular. The real issue was the waiting time. We waited 30-45 minutes between each (very small) course. While we might have overlooked it for 1 course, it was totally unacceptable to wait that long for every course, and we had the 4 course dinner. On top of that, the servers didn't seem to think waiting that long was an issue - no recognition or apologies. After we complained, they gave my companion a compensatory glass of wine, but (inexplicably) not me. We seriously considered leaving after the first 2 courses. Also, at that price point, I expected more than french fries with my steak. The fat back on top of the pork was very hard and chewy, not crisp. I would not go back. The Creme brûlée was excellent.

Wir hatten dort einen sehr schönen Abend mit sehr gutem Essen und Service sowie einem angemessenen Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis. Den Gesamteindruck hat die Tatsache etwas getrübt, dass gegen Ende unseres Aufenthaltes die Gäste der „zweiten Schicht“ (Seatings sind 17:30 und 20:15) schon eintrafen und man ein wenig Druck verspürte, den Tisch freizumachen. Alles in allem ist das Restaurant aber auf jeden Fall sehr zu empfehlen.

The ambiance is lovely and the service was incredibly friendly, but unfortunately also quite slow and not particularly attentive. We waited almost 20 minutes before being asked about drinks. Later, we had to specifically request our wine pairing, which had been forgotten, and the next set of cutlery. When we pointed out that the salad was quite oversalted, we only received a polite "Okay." This is, in my opinion, quite negligent overall, especially considering the very high price. The wines themselves, however, were excellent, as was most of the food.

Das Entrecote war allenfalls mäßig, z. T. sehnig und übermäßig fett. Habe den Mangel dem Personal angezeigt. Keine nachhaltige Reaktion. Man wollte uns dafür einen Espresso spendieren. Auch ungenügend, wenn man bedenkt, dass für das Entrecote ein erheblicher Aufpreis berechnet wird. Danach machte sich das Servicepersonal sehr rar, auf den Espresso haben wir gerne verzichtet. Das Phaedra beschreibt sich selbst als „Grieche Abseits der Norm“, was meines Erachtens zutrifft. Das Essen ist kreativ und raffiniert, ohne abgehoben zu sein. Immer wieder positiv überrascht bin ich von den vegetarischen Gerichten, die Fisch und Fleisch in nichts nachstehen. Auch der Wein ist jedes Mal hervorragend. Das einzige Manko sind die recht engen Tische, wodurch ein hoher Geräuschpegel entsteht.

Even though there were vacant tables, everything was marked as reserved. Having traveled to several countries, I found this to be one of my least pleasant dining experiences. If guests are not welcome without a reservation, it would be better to communicate this more politely. Some of the comments made, such as “you don’t need to come back,” were quite disappointing.

Die junge Dame im Service war sehr freundlich, zugewandt und kompetent, sie hat unserem Wunsch hinsichtlich der Platzierung engagiert realisiert. Von den Mezze über Vorspeisen bis zu den Hauptgerichten war alles sehr delikat, frisch und von bester Qualität und auch liebevoll dargereicht. Die verlockenden Desserts konnten wir nicht mehr ordern, denn da die Portionierungen der Gänge nicht zu knapp waren, hatten wir da unser Limit erreicht. Die Weinberatung und -empfehlung war perfekt. Ein gelungener Abend in angenehmen Ambiente, ausgezeichneter Küche und einem tollen Team.

We had the 4 course menu. The tuna starter was amazing and the final steak/fish as well. In fact i think the steak was one of the best I ever had. The second course was a pasta that had an amazing sause but we think they lost the cooking point. We asked to return and the new one came the same way. Desert was not so nice either. Service was slow in comparison with other redtaurants. In summary we would return but not for the menu.

I had the four-course vegetarian menu. Considering that the mini tabbouleh salad à la carte costs €17, I can't quite fathom the expense, given the amount of ingredients and effort involved. The paccheri with octopus salad (I swapped the summer vegetables with my companion) was delicious, but again, only for four people. The risotto with (a thin) slice of eggplant had a slightly bitter, burnt aftertaste. The baked apricots at the end were excellent, though. I didn't choose a wine pairing, but my companion wasn't impressed by hers. You sometimes sit very close to strangers, which is a must.

If you're looking for a special evening with fantastic food in a great atmosphere, served by a very welcoming host and excellent service, this is the place for you. Every course is a pure explosion of flavor. The dishes change frequently... Boredom never happens here... the chef is brimming with creativity. Another great thing is that you can buy a special Greek olive oil here (including honey, spices, etc.) - I prefer the 3-liter canister of olive oil 🫶🏻 and happily carry it home like a precious handbag 🫶🏻

We arrived at 6:30 p.m., our reserved time, and ordered an aperitif. Service was excellent and attentive. The aperitif was delicious. We ordered our food at 7:10 p.m. The main course arrived at 9:45 p.m.! At the time of ordering, it wasn't busy. Over the course of the evening, the restaurant filled up until all the seats were taken. Nevertheless, we were among the first guests. The wait times, even after explicitly requesting and repeatedly asking about the dishes, are absolutely unacceptable. We had explicitly mentioned our small child and two people with celiac disease prior to making the reservation. The answer: no problem, we can prepare something off the menu for the child, and we will provide gluten-free bread. The gluten-free bread consisted of four small slices and was quite old. It tasted like cardboard. The children's dish did pose a problem that evening. After some persuasion, we were finally able to order pasta with vegetables. When they arrived after a long wait for the very hungry child, they were so seasoned with chili that even the adults quickly reached for the water glass when they tasted them. The waitress said a replacement wasn't possible because it would have been too busy. We then had to get food for our child from a neighboring restaurant. At least she was allowed to eat it with us at Phaedra. For two people, the mezze and side salad were completely oversalted. The grilled vegetables starter had peppers that were so overcooked that they lost all their bite and were essentially mush. Additionally, the kitchen had sent one dish out of order. Conclusion: very good service, really bad food. A restaurant with a lot of hype that doesn't live up to its promise. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

An all-round successful evening! The food was simply fantastic – varied, creative and with great combinations that really inspire. I would particularly like to highlight the roasted white asparagus – a real taste explosion! The lamb was cooked to perfection and had a wonderful flavor from the grill. The staff were also consistently friendly and attentive. The open kitchen was a real highlight: it was nice to see how calm and harmonious people worked there - that creates trust and atmosphere. The wine accompaniment to the main course was excellent and rounded off the taste experience perfectly. We'll definitely be back!

Modern Greek food, well presented. We eat out a lot, including Greek, although this is usually traditional in Germany. The Phaedra is a great exception here. For us it was the best Greek food outside of Greece. The white Taramas is a dream, the octopus is tender and rare and the flavors are wonderful. It's a shame we don't live around the corner...

Chic restaurant with Greek-Mediterranean cuisine. Reservation recommended. There are seats inside and outside. The friendly service is quite attentive, but with room for improvement. One or two drinks were forgotten and an appetizer was not brought correctly. However, constructive criticism was largely accepted professionally. The food: warm bread and the oil was very tasty. Scallops finely cooked and well seasoned. Unfortunately, octopus was sliced (should be mentioned in the menu) and not served whole, missing roasted flavors and priced too high. The hanging tender for the main course was a dream, grilled to perfection and with a unique taste. The Bernaise sauce went perfectly with it and the triple cooked fries also tasted exceptionally good. Wine recommendations are good, but sometimes the prices are too high for a 0.1 glass. **Atmosphere** Modern and cozy. The lighting is unfortunately a bit bright and sometimes shines directly in your face. My partner found this particularly unpleasant. However, the lighting could be dimmed to 50%. My table neighbors were happy about the suggestion. **Service** Friendly and helpful. However, it has a bit of a student-like feel to it. Doesn't quite fit the ambiance. Some of the food wasn't set up correctly. **Food** Appetizer: We had pasta with feta and scallops. The presentation of the pasta was poor, as was the taste. Considering the price, it was 1 out of 5. The scallops were okay but rather basic in taste. Considering the price, it was also quite reasonable. 2/5 Main Course: We had a steak and fish. The steak was very good. Very, very fine in flavor. Unfortunately, the dish was marred by the side dishes. The fries were bland, the mayo lacked refinement, and the salad was carelessly tossed into a bowl with a bland dressing. Considering the price of €46, you'd definitely expect more. Meat 5/5, Sides 2/5 The fish was good. The broccoli was crisp and perfect. The sauce brought down the whole experience. Watery and sour. It didn't fit together. However, the sauce at the next table was thicker. I conclude from this that the quality from the kitchen isn't the same. Fish 4/5, Side 3/5. Dessert: To sum it up briefly: 4/5. Very tasty. You can really eat it here. The espresso wasn't good. Much too hot and brewed for a long time. All in all, the two of us spent €190 for an aperitif, starter, main course, and dessert. No wine. The restaurant is definitely top-notch in terms of quality. From my personal point of view, there is potential for improvement in many areas.

Wie jedes Mal war der Besuch im Phaedra hervorragend. Von der Qualität der Speisen und Getränke über den Service war einfach alles perfekt. Wir haben das Entrecôte vom Josper Grill probiert und ich kann sagen, dass ich jetzt nicht mehr zu Smith and Wollensky muss, wenn mir nach einem guten Steak ist.

As we all know, taste is subjective; everyone can make up their own mind. The monkfish didn't suit my taste, and neither did the wines served with the courses. Sometimes more vinegar than wine. People aren't used to criticism here, so the hospitality ended quickly. As other reviewers have already noted, we are in the upper league when it comes to prices; other restaurants are right there, but this is not one of them. Clearly not a recommendation.

Small restaurant in the southern part of the city with Greek-Mediterranean cuisine. Two 4-course menus (one of which is vegetarian) are offered, each with wine accompaniment and food à la carte. We decided to browse the menu and share the dishes so we could try as much as possible. Everything tasted really delicious. Only the owner probably knows why a kohlrabi and pointed cabbage salad is on the menu for €15.00. I think that's too much. Overall, prices are at a high level. Since the restaurant was fully booked, this didn't seem to bother the guests. Our sommelier was really great. We chose the wine accompaniment to the menu. Since we hadn't chosen the menu, she put together a customized wine accompaniment for our dishes. She knowledgeably guided us through the wines and also explained why the wine in particular goes well with the food. That was charming and helpful at the same time. We would recommend the phaedra and will definitely come back.

Maybe the food is good, but you walk in and aren't greeted by the oh-so-fine Kostas, who also thinks he has a 5-star restaurant in Paris. One is offered a rancid seat at the bar. No, I don't spend over €100 here and sit at the bar. People assume that you have deleted your call list because they called you three times, which is simply not true. But we called on Thursday and our reservation, which we made 3 weeks earlier, was confirmed again. You try to have a conversation and Kostas behaves like a toddler so that the guests on site don't notice his incompetence as a boss. The employees have obviously made mistakes and the blame is being placed on the customer. The main thing is that the fine image you have convinced yourself is not damaged. I don't even want to start talking about misogyny or, in my case, racism because of the color of my skin. This store, or rather the owner, deserves zero stars.

The first impression of the restaurant is very good. Unfortunately, the service staff lacks the necessary competence to support this first impression. The dishes and their presentation are very nicely prepared and delicious. The wine list is good, although a little overpriced (by a factor of 4 to 5). Unfortunately, some of the pricing of the food amounts to an unsightly rip-off, which this restaurant doesn't need at all. An example is a 500g entrecôte for 2 people , which at €98 is significantly (!) overpriced. When we asked why the steak could only be ordered for two people, the waiter told us that it could only be served on 500g piece to meet the taste requirements of the house (stupid stuff). sold stupidly. Furthermore, the kitchen is set up a bit inflexibly, so that none of our “special requests” could be responded to If you want to retain guests who are willing to pay more than €120+x per person for dinner, then you should respect them appropriately.

Booked this restaurant however due to a flight delay which was out of our control we couldn’t make the reservation and were charged over 100 Euros. We called to cancel and they said they couldn’t do anything. A bit absurd when you can’t make it due to something out of control. Horrible customer service

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal im Phaedra und haben uns von Beginn an wohlgefühlt. Dazu haben das sehr schöne Ambiente und der tolle Service beigetragen. Unser Sohn entschied sich für das Menü, das nicht nur sehr abwechslungsreich, sondern von ausgezeichneter Qualität war. Meine Frau und ich wurden auf unsere Nachfrage hin, bei der Speisenfolge, als auch beim Wein (vom Chef persönlich) sehr gut beraten. Es war ein tolles Erlebnis und ein wunderschöner Nachmittag/Abend.

We spontaneously decided to have a nice, delicious meal somewhere on Friday evening and chose Phili's because of the great reviews. Best decision ever! It completely lived up to our high expectations. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented yet not pretentious, fair prices, and Mythos beer on tap served in chilled glasses. We'll be back soon!

We wanted to celebrate a nice birthday here and would have happily spent a fair amount of money – cocktails, champagne, and food. Apparently, no one else wanted that. There were only a few guests, yet we barely got the staff's attention. They were all glued to their phones behind the bar. We were charged even before the birthday celebrations had officially begun. At midnight, the music was off, the lights were on, and the staff seemed unmotivated. Sorry, that's just unacceptable. The cocktails were tasty (as they should be at those prices). The food was... well, okay, but unfortunately, it wasn't seasoned well. The music was great; we wish it had been better. The restrooms in the basement are not only physically abysmal. They have no doors, offer a clear view of the toilets, are cluttered, and have washing facilities that, sadly, no one seems to care about. In short: all show and no substance. A real shame. With such a cool atmosphere and a great concept, they could have done so much more.
