Meer sehen in Köln

Die Karte liest sich gut und auch die Portionsgrößen fand ich größtenteils fair. Leider konnten uns geschmacklich aber einige Gerichte nicht überzeugen. Der Thunfisch war für meinen Geschmack sehr fad und zudem ziemlich wässrig, einige Speisen kamen außerdem nur lauwarm an den Tisch. Auch die Aiolis haben uns leider überhaupt nicht geschmeckt. Beim Brot würde ich persönlich lieber etwas mehr bezahlen und dafür ein hochwertigeres Sauerteigbrot bekommen – das würde meiner Meinung nach auch besser zum restlichen Konzept passen. Der Service war nett und der Garten wirklich sehr hübsch. Insgesamt hat es uns kulinarisch aber leider nicht genug überzeugt, um noch einmal zum Essen zu kommen. Für ein Glas Wein im schönen Garten würde ich aber durchaus wieder vorbeischauen.

Die Tapas waren sehr lecker und der Rosé hat super gepasst. Dazu ein sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service im lauschigen Hof. Wir hatten einen tollen Abend!

Kleines Juwel in Ehrenfeld! Wenn man durch das Restaurant nach hinten durchläuft, landet man in einem super schönen, einladenden Biergarten, eine kleine Oase mitten in Ehrenfeld. Wir hatten einige Kleinigkeiten zu essen, die sehr lecker waren, und haben dazu einen hervorragenden Vinho Verde genossen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Personal: Wir wurden sehr aufmerksam und herzlich bedient, was den Aufenthalt noch angenehmer gemacht hat. Ich komme definitiv wieder!

Die Tapas sind außergewöhnlich hochwertig: fein komponiert, frisch, kreativ – jede einzelne Kleinigkeit zeigt Liebe zum Produkt und echtes Können in der Küche. Genau die Art von Qualität, wegen der man wiederkommt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Service: Die Wirtin ist aufmerksam, herzlich und präsent, ohne je aufdringlich zu sein. Ein wunderbarer Austausch auf Augenhöhe – inklusive der schönen Gemeinsamkeit einer geteilten Sambuca-Liebe, die dem Abend eine persönliche Note gegeben hat. Das Ambiente ist etwas ganz Eigenes: warmes Licht, fließende Atmosphäre, ein Hauch von Underwater Love – ruhig, sinnlich, entschleunigend. Man sitzt, genießt, vergisst die Zeit. Fazit: großartige Tapas, ein Service mit Herz und Charakter und ein Ambiente, das bleibt. Absolute Empfehlung.

Haben dort nicht gegessen, sondern lediglich leckeren Wein getrunken. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Mitarbeiter und schlichtes aber gemütliches Ambiente. Beim nächsten Besuch werden wir, auf jeden Fall, auch dort speisen.

Yes, absolutely... It's like being on vacation...

This is a quaint tapas place that I visited with the research lab I interned with last summer. The entrance is quite conspicuous, so I was really surprised to see the spacious courtyard in the back. The natural plant growth and fairy lights were very cozy. There were lots of tapas options and they came out pretty quickly, which made for a good spot to visit with friends if your objective is to chat for a while. They also have an indoor seating area with a TV for rainy days.

Super delicious, fast and friendly service, a super nice owner, very professional and accommodating. Perfect with friends or colleagues. All the tapas are highly recommended, as is the wine. Simply trying everything from the menu is great fun.

We were able to celebrate our wedding at "Meer sehen" (Sea See) and are thrilled with Petra and her team. She decorated the beautiful courtyard with so much love and, together with all the staff, gave us a truly wonderful day. The food and service were outstanding, and everyone's warm hospitality contributed to a wonderful, unforgettable day! We couldn't have imagined anything better – thank you so much!

Sooooo: The reservation concept could be improved. You can only make reservations starting at 8:15 p.m. Otherwise, you're supposed to just show up and choose a free table. Your heart rate will rise if you arrive there by Uber around 6:30 p.m. and everything is booked...but we were then very relaxed and moved after a quarter of an hour. After that, everything went smoothly, even though we had to wait a long time for the food. But it was also packed and therefore quite warm and loud, which is why I'm so disappointed. The food was really delicious and the service very attentive and friendly. Overall, highly recommended for tapas 😋👍 You just have to snag a free table...😉

Very cozy, very child-friendly, super friendly staff. Aquariums + screen/projector --> view of the ocean --> cool design, always something to watch. Our food wasn't that great this time, a bit too cold, everything wasn't quite as flavorful, but still acceptable. We'll be back next time ;)

Very tasty food, except for the baked fries with guacamole, which were basically dessert and were lightly seasoned. The garden is a lovely place to sit.

It's all very unpleasant. Even when making a reservation, you feel like a beggar, made to feel like you have to thank them for accepting your reservation "as an exception" for 8:15 p.m. instead of 8:30 p.m. If you arrive a little early, you're not allowed to sit at another available table until the reserved time, but are instead asked to "walk around the block a few more times" before that time. Likewise, you're not asked if you'd like to simply pass the time with a drink at the completely empty bar. While walking around the block, we found another beautiful restaurant where we immediately felt welcome. Shortly before 9:00 p.m., we received a call from the restaurant, but of course, we didn't answer it.

Tucked away in the back courtyard, it's quite charmingly done. The prices are high, but the food and wine are truly delicious. The only downside is the seating... so uncomfortable that it was impossible for me to stay there for long.

Great restaurant with 5/5 stars for the ambience! The service was friendly. Reservations can be made in advance by telephone. The selection on the menu is very interesting, from classic Spanish tapas to fries, currywurst and schnitzel. We focused on typical Spanish dishes. The bacon-wrapped dates are great, as are the potatoes, the grilled vegetables and the goat cheese. The food was great and the prices were reasonable. I would like to try more dishes again. The Spanish tapas still have some room for improvement.

I recently revisited this Mediterranean restaurant, and I must say the experience has improved compared to before! The menu now offers an even wider variety of fresh and flavorful dishes, from the savory kebabs to the rich, creamy hummus. The ingredients tasted more authentic than ever, and you could really tell each dish was prepared with extra care. The ambiance has remained warm and inviting, making it perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. The staff have stepped up their game too—attentive and friendly, making sure we felt welcome throughout the meal. While a few dishes still could use a bit more seasoning, the overall experience was much more satisfying this time around. I’ll definitely be coming back—solid 4-star experience!

Super tasty tapas. There are also a few skin dishes that are constantly changing. We have always eaten very well. The service is great.

Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to test the quality of the food or the ambience. Since it would have been important for us to clarify something there before a birthday dinner with friends, we tried to contact the restaurant in advance by phone and email. Since no one was available or responded despite multiple requests for brief feedback, we chose another restaurant. We will certainly not choose this restaurant in the future because of this attitude.

Two days ago I went to see the sea again with friends. It's always a successful short vacation. We like a delicious selection of tapas with delicious drinks best. Highly recommended!

Always great. I like everything on the menu, but our favorite is the currywurst 🥰. The service is really good and courteous. The boss especially loves what she does. And you can taste and feel it.

From the food (quite bland and unspectacular), to the drinks, to the ambience and service...completely average with a lot of room for improvement. The courtyard is nice but the interior seems a bit characterless and is definitely too dark for eating.

I love seeing the sea. It's worth coming here with several people so that you can order and try a lot. The service is friendly and quick, and there is a large selection for vegetarians.

No reservation possible in the beer garden season: First come - first serve, so either be there early or have some time to wait.

The location is very nice, unfortunately the waitress didn't manage to bring us anything to eat in just under 2 hours. Therefore, I cannot recommend the restaurant and will not come back.

*Schockmoment* Wir waren mit einer Gruppe Freunden in diesem Laden und mussten mit Entsetzen feststellen dass hier offen zum Mord an Juden aufgerufen wird. Ich muß dazu sagen das wir selbst jüdisch sind. Der Kellner trug ein "Intifada bis zum Sieg " T Shirt! Kein Frieden für Palästina oder Free all Hostages, sondern ein Shirt mit der Aussage das alle Juden getötet werden sollen. Darauf angesprochen tat er unwissend und sprach vom Recht auf Widerstand etc. Wir haben den Laden natürlich entsetzt verlassen.

The beer garden is a must in summer!! My friends and I received super-friendly and quick service today in the beautiful, almost secret garden. (The service is great!!) Seeing the Sea must be visited at least once by every Cologne resident. Really deserves 5 stars!!

Nowhere else in Cologne will you receive such friendly and attentive service. You feel very welcome. The food is super tasty and fairly priced. And the backyard beer garden is simply an oasis.

See the Sea offers a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for a cozy evening. Despite initially appearing empty, the beer garden surprises with a lively atmosphere. The staff are super nice and make you feel welcome straight away. Prices are decent and represent good value for money, especially considering the quality and taste of the tapas on offer. A visit is definitely worth it, don't be put off by the initially empty restaurant - most guests sit in the beer garden.

We ended up at “See the Sea” by chance and were immediately impressed. The beer garden is very nice, the food is delicious and the team is great! We felt very comfortable and it certainly wasn't the last time we were there.

Hinter einem eher unscheinbaren Eingang zur Straße öffnet sich im "Meer sehen" nach dem Betreten eine kleine Oase in Ehrenfeld. Das Interieur ist mit Liebe zum Thema ausgesucht und arrangiert worden, die Bedienung freundlich und höflich zuvorkommend, die Speisenauswahl breit gefächert, hier ist für Alle etwas dabei. Ein kleiner Biergarten im Hinterhof rundet das Besuchserlebnis ab, einfach gemütlich.

Wir sind begeistert! Der Service war ausnahmslos fantastisch (witzig, zuvorkommend,aufmerksam) und die Tapas sehr lecker. Die Aufbereitung der einzelnen Tapas hat uns sehr gut gefallen und das Ambiente im Biergarten bei Kerzenlicht war äußerst schön. Wir kommen gerne wieder, vielen Dank!

Wärmstens zu empfehlen! Im Meer sehen kann man zu fairen Preisen bestens essen und trinken. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und zügig. Außerdem gibt es einen wunderschönen Außenbereich, der im Sommer allerdings meist belegt ist. Also lohnt es sich etwas früher zu kommen.
