A contemporary take on classic German cuisine... absolutely outstanding!! The service was also first class and the restaurant is stylish and beautiful.

After a day in Berlin we ended up here by chance. The restaurant looked very neat and tidy so we didn't know what to expect. After explaining the menu we found out that it was a kind of tapas restaurant with mainly German dishes. We thought this was very nicely set up and the service was also very good and friendly. Definitely recommended to go to wherever you are in Berlin.

The restaurant has a pleasant setting and everything is done to welcome you perfectly. In addition, the bill is very reasonable for the excellent quality of the dishes and services. A good address for an overview of German gastronomy.

Upon stepping into PeterPaul, we were met with a balance of elegance and ease, where the setting managed to simultaneously whisper sophistication and beckon with a sense of warmth. The refined decor didn’t come across as overbearing, providing a charming setting for an evening’s meal. Yet, the culinary experience failed to rise to the same occasion. More puzzlingly, our server omitted mentioning that the establishment champions a tapas approach to German cuisine. Instead of embracing a symphony of varied plates, as intended, we mistakenly mirrored each other’s selections, thus sidestepping the very essence of dining here.

The concept of ordering small, different dishes of good German home cooking to share is great. The service is great and so is the ambience. Fish fingers, smoked pork roast and the Königsberger meatballs were my personal favorites. Clear recommendation!

We were there spontaneously and immediately felt very comfortable. The service was excellent and we were really well looked after. What was particularly nice was that my pregnant friend was served her passion fruit juice in a cocktail glass - a nice touch to make her feel special while she was drinking. The meal was excellent! Although it was pointed out that the portions were small, we found them more than enough and were satisfied and full afterwards. All in all a great experience – highly recommended!

We were unplanned because we had dinner nearby for the first time last night and were thrilled. Only two meals could have been a little hotter. But the bottom line is that it only did minimal damage to the excellent food. It was a flavor explosion. Although it's a bit expensive, we'll be happy to come back. A winner in Berlin. Reception and service super friendly and professional. The menu consists of small dishes of which you can order 1-3 per person depending on your appetite or simply fill the table in company and enjoy shared dining. Dishes are German with an international twist. Delicious! Then also a good wine and cocktail list and all for a very reasonable price. An absolute must!

An absolute highlight – 5 stars! I had the great pleasure of eating at Peter Paul in Berlin and I can say with complete conviction: it was the best restaurant I've ever been to! From the first to the last minute, the service was exceptional - I have rarely experienced such attentive and warm service. The dishes were a real taste experience. The cucumber salad in particular brought back memories of my childhood - just like my grandma used to! The smoked pork roast was simply fantastic, perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The Peter Paul manages to take traditional German cuisine to a new level - interpreted in a modern way without losing the charm of the classic recipes. If you are in Berlin, you should not miss this restaurant. I'll definitely be back!

Un restaurante muy agradable con un interesante concepto de tapas alemanas. Un ambiente muy agradable con el excelente servicio a veces. La mayor parte de la comida era deliciosa con uno o dos platos que se siente sobreprecio, sin embargo, el costo de nuestra comida en general con varias copas de vino era de alrededor de € 100, que es el valor razonable. Hubiera sido 5 estrellas si no nos hubieran pedido que dejáramos una propina. De todos modos, habríamos dado propinas, pero no me gusta que el personal me lo pida.

Wow what an experience! A friend brought us here to experience finer German food and this did not disappoint! The wait brought out tapa style plates of various dishes from across Germany. Everything we ate was phenomenal. Highly recommend to visit this family owned and operated restaurant

A fantastic venue. Portions a little smaller than normal but of exceptional quality. This is because with slightly smaller portions, you have the opportunity to taste more things. The chicken with the green yogurt sauce, the mashed potatoes with the crispy potatoes on top. A truly very special atmosphere. Medium-high price range but definitely worth it! Note of merit for the waiters, truly very kind and prepared.

Classics of German cuisine reinterpreted in tapas style. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The interior is beautifully furnished and looks very cozy. The dishes are to the point and all have a little twist. Everything fits together and you can have a really good time here

Ein äußerst stilvoll eingerichtetes Restaurant mit einem Service, der besser und aufmerksamer nicht sein könnte. Das Essen ist ohnehin über jeden Zweifel erhaben und immer wieder ein Genuss. Auch die Getränkekarte, einschließlich der Cocktails, ist empfehlenswert. Hier stimmt nicht nur das Essen, sondern alles andere, was es insgesamt zu einem besonderen Erlebnis macht und damit auch die gehobenen Preise gerechtfertigt sind.

I can absolutely recommend the restaurant. It's something different, serving German dishes as tapas is a great idea, you can try a lot and I strongly recommend it, the cuisine is very, very good. Everything is accompanied by first-class service and the drinks are top class. I had no wish left unfulfilled; I didn't know how it could be made better. (Next time there will definitely be roulades again 😜)

Gute Bedienung, gemütliches Ambiente, wirklich schlechtes Essen! Die Grundidee mit den deutschen Tapas ist ja gut, aber wenn das Essen nicht gut ist bringt es halt nichts. Dafür halt auch echt teuer! Kann ich nicht empfehlen.

Gutes und angenehmes Essen aber ein bisschen gestört durch ein sehr lauter Tisch nebenbei. Die Music dazu, von der man sowieso nur die Bassen hört, macht überhaupt keinen Sinn und verschlimmert nur noch den Klang. Muß ein Restaurant unbedingt wie ein Nachtclub aussehen ? Sehr interessante Weinkarte.

Wow, wow, wow…von der Begrüssung bis hin zum Essen & dem Service - grandios. Wer auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant ist, das sowohl Gaumen als auch Herz erfüllt, wird hier fündig. Schon beim Ankommen spürt man, dass hier alles bis ins kleinste Detail stimmt – angefangen beim unglaublich aufmerksamen und sympathischen Empfang, über den grandiosen Service, der keinen Wunsch offen lässt...bis hin zur Wohnzimmer Atmosphäre. Das Essen? Wirklich top…raffinierte deutsche Klassiker!!! ABER, der Abend ist kein günstiger Spaß, jeder Cent ist es zwar wert, aber das sollte man wissen…es sind tapas-Größen, da kommt echt was zusammen Geld technisch…geht preislich schon in Richtung Sterneküche…aber auch geschmacklich!!!

Funny. Classic German cuisine is celebrated in a modern, predominantly black ambience. The portions seem quite small at first glance. That's part of the concept. No one should eat a single dish meal alone. Share is the motto. There were three of us and we each ordered two different dishes. Everyone was well fed. The vineyard is well thought out with a clear focus on German wines. The service was absolutely great. Conclusion: Experience restaurant for sociable and communicative people

Stylish yet cozy restaurant with friendly service. The dishes are very well put together and the tapas variant means everyone at the table has the opportunity to try it out. I can highly recommend the salad and the beetroot dumplings. My husband was happy with his Königsberger Klopsen. When we are back in Berlin we will definitely visit and enjoy PeterPaul again.

Very nice restaurant where you feel comfortable and welcome from start to finish. The dishes were excellent and especially the cheese dumplings with the lemon dressing tasted incredibly good. Last but not least, everyone who works in service contributes to an atmosphere in which you feel very well looked after, advised and comfortable! I would say one of the best service experiences I have ever had.

Fantastic restaurant! As a tourist in Berlin this was a great choice. The Tapas style format allowed us to taste a variety of traditional German dishes which were all delicious. The staff were truly excellent and really made our night. They explained everything on the menu, helping us to understand the different regional dishes, they made great recommendations and even gave us tips to get the best from out stay in Berlin. The restaurant was full but the service was quick and attentive. Highly recommend.

Leckere Weine, großartige kleine Gerichte zum Teilen - perfekt, um Gästen „von außerhalb“ das Leckerste der deutschen Küche anzubieten. „Fischstäbchen“ sind tatsächlich saftiger Backfisch mit krosser Panade, die Currywurst mit Orange schmeckt auch Currywurst-Skeptikern… Peter Paul ist einfach immer wieder schön und ein Garant für einen entspannten Abend, an dem alle am Ende glücklich wieder aufstehen, auch dank des extrem netten Services.

So far so good. What the restaurant is missing is the sauce chef, the cocktails, the service, the ambience, the wine, the concept is all great. The food simply lacks pizzazz. Too bad.

we were 2 persons that drove to Berlin to experience a nice weekend. we had hear about the food setup at this restaurant and wanted to try it. We were very happy for the food - it was really good. Unfortunately we were given a table at the back - near the exit to kitchen and toilet. So a lot of traffic passed our table in a constant run if staff and guests. Further the noice in the restaurant was unbearable. They should really upgrade the restaurant with a noice cancelling ceiling. it was expensive but the food was very good but the ambience ruined the experience. We nill not go back again.

I had reserved a table for 3 people at 18:00. Around 19:40, a waitress informed us that she would bring the bill. Fifteen minutes later, she returned and told us we needed to leave, and to our shock, our coats had already been placed on a bench at the entrance. There was absolutely no warning about any time limit when I made the reservation. This behavior is completely unacceptable! It’s incredibly rude and unprofessional to rush guests out without any prior notice. We felt unwelcome, disrespected, and completely blindsided by this treatment. It ruined what was supposed to be an enjoyable evening.

Review Complaint: We visited today and spent 2 hours at the restaurant. Our table was reserved until a specific time, which we respected. However, 10 minutes before that time, the waiter abruptly brought us the bill along with our coats and asked us to leave. This was incredibly rude and unprofessional. We were shocked by this treatment and will definitely never return.

A place not to return to and please, don't go to eat there if you intend to eat, I mean. Go for tapas after having eaten at home and only if you have extra money. We were two people. We ordered German sausages and meatballs and, what is our surprise, when they put a sausage, extremely spicy, and two medium-sized meatballs, on a tapa plate. We ordered two small beers and a bottle of water and to accompany the meatballs they gave us a bowl of these peanut dwarfs, a potato salad (let's say two pinches of free-range potatoes). In summary: 1 sausage (the size you buy at is super, they come 2 in the package) 2 meatballs with a little sauce. A medium glass water bottle. Two small rods. A bowl with potatoes in salad. Total: 50 euros Our face was a poem. We asked for the bill and went to "dinner" at the Italian restaurant next door, which for 35 euros was good. Shameful. Absolute teasing amounts. Cool place and they serve you well, it screwed us up!! but if you want to eat, 200 euros won't go down, guaranteed.

Let me start by saying that the place has incredible staff. The Greek race served us and was really super attentive and kind. For the rest, however, I expected more. Especially seeing the prices and reviews. We chose for eight colleagues, the secret formula where it is they brought us several German tapas chosen by the kitchen. The dishes are super refined and beautiful while the flavor is really nothing special. One of the musts was basically a sausage with ketchup which seems to be a typical German dish but could be revisited for a restaurant like this. We also didn't like the soup with boiled meatballs and we weren't crazy about the meat either. If I have to say, I really liked the love affair, even though it was only vegetables, but only for me while my colleagues preferred the dumplings. We were all a little disappointed, even by the wines, despite the price. But the place is truly wonderful and the service perfect so we can't complain about the experience. Super positive thing: be careful about gluten-free.

Our best meal in Berlin! They serve very creative and delicious takes on German cuisine. Our waiter was outstanding. He offered to order for us, and we are so happy we took him up on that. The dishes (and cocktails) were all wonderful and he selected a nice balance and assortment. The decor is also cozy but elegant. We definitely plan to eat here again when we return.

Atmosphere like in a gallery with art in between early expressionism and cubism (I hope the experts will confirm this). Friendly, motivated service. Tasty food. All in all, a nice evening. Reservation highly recommended.

One of the rare moments in Berlin when the service and environment is far superior than the food. The soup on the house tasted like it’s coming from a middle school cantine. The cheese dumpling, itself delicious, was drenched in a sauce that resembles mango sauce from your local Vietnamese restaurant, it was so shockingly distasteful we thought the kitchen made a mistake. The fried chicken was nothing but glorified chicken tenders on top of watercress blended with sour cream. The only perfectly executed plate was the sauerbraten, which at 17 euro a pop should be the expectation. Looking around, the target clientele are Gen Xers who want to eat what they eat at home but on smaller and fancier plates for the experience. But then again, perhaps we only have ourselves to blame on this one, as the concept of creative German cuisine may have itself been an oxymoron.

Great restaurant! Really recommended. The food is really tasty and actually something special because the typical German dishes are cleverly implemented. The ambience is tasteful and cozy. What is particularly noteworthy, however, is the service. Everything is really right there, you immediately feel welcome! Plus, the ladies and gentlemen are really on their toes! When I'm back in Berlin, I'd love to come back here.

Cost-effective fine dining. I recommend going at least once with your girlfriend or family :) The amount of food is not large, but the advantage is that you can order a variety of things, but the taste of the food was not very good compared to the price. But the atmosphere and service are not bad. I recommend going there at least once. Note Total: 130euro

My partner booked here for our date night while away in Berlin. The welcome was warm, the servers couldn’t have been more attentive. We asked our server (taller gentleman with grey hair, we didn’t get his name sadly) to pick out dishes that were predominantly vegetarian and his recommendations were flawless. The food, service and just the general vibe of the restaurant made for a truly unforgettable evening. When you go, try the cheese dumplings, you will not be disappointed!!

Every time so far has been great! Very good wine selection with a focus on German wines and service professional, courteous and unobtrusive! Excellent food, great concept, offering German dishes as “tapas” versions, i.e. smaller portions so that you can try different dishes. Everything was perfectly prepared and presented! There is also enough for vegetarians and vegans. Beautiful, stylish and yet reserved design of the restaurant! Prior reservation is strongly recommended. One of my favorite restaurants immediately after the first visit....!!!

This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. They've really thought of everything, I particularly liked the noise level which has been carefully controlled with sound proofing. The food was incredible, and really great to try some German food cooked to a high standard while visiting the city. If I had one issue it would be the size of the portions to price ratio but this is to be expected in a small plates restaurant and I don't feel it was too expensive necessarily. The waiter was particular attentive and really loved being served by her. I will be recommending this place to anyone visiting Berlin.

Vom Gruß aus der Küche bis zum Dessert alles wirklich sehr gut (Ware, Zubereitung, Optik), Service sehr aufmerksam und nett. Interieur geschmackvoll, von Schallplattenregal bis Expressionismus an den Wänden. Wenn man das Haar in der Suppe suchen wollte: Für meinen Geschmack und das an diesem Abend anwesende Publikum passte dazu die Background-Musik (Lounge style) nicht optimal. Ein bisschen jazzy (Smooth-Jazz o.ä.) wäre besser gewesen. Das bei vielen Restaurants zunehmend negative Thema Lautstärke (Geräuschpegel bei vielen Gästen und keinen akustischen Gegenmaßnahmen) spielte hier (vergleichsweise) keine große Rolle. Nicht gerade intim aber auch nicht wirklich störend. Empfehlung!
