I have only a few words of German, but they were very accommodating. Spätzle was was very good. Sat outside so can't comment on atmosphere, but it is hidden on a pretty, quiet, residential street, so not much car or foot traffic. Service was good and very friendly, and food came reasonably quickly.

Excellent local restaurant in the Bergmannkiez area, in front of Chamisso square. Upon arrival, we were immediately sat. Food was very good and soft. Indeed, dishes are healthy and we left full but not feeling heavy. Our waiter was attentive and answered our questions in English (and he replied to us in German when we asked him questions in our poor German, which we appreciated!). Some tables are to share. We were asked whether we were fine with that, which we were. Despite we ended up sharing a table with a couple, the distance is enough to keep one's conversation without the sensation of being sat with the other two. Space outside is very nice too, especially in these summer days. We were able to pay by card, which is not granted in Berlin. I definitely recommend it!

The goulash was very tasty but the spaetzle didn't taste like anything for all three of us. Staff friendly but very slow. The ambience is nice but the toilets urgently need a thorough cleaning. We were there at 5 p.m. when it opened, so you expect cleanliness. the doors are dirty and the toilet is worn out.

Fantastic restaurant in an equally lovely neighbourhood. We had such a nice dinner here and the wait staff were absolutely a delight. Friendly, helpful and always smiling. Only one comment I have is about my spinach "dumpling" it was more like a "cake." It was delicious but way too dense and hearty than what i imagine a regular dumpling. It was very filling and I had a hard time finishing it. I had a little taste of a the gulash and it was simply divine. Will definitely come back again.

Lovely place! Traditional German food, decent portions and prices. I had a fish special and it was very lemony and delicious.

Normally I get schnitzel whenever possible because that's my favorite German dish, but I must say, the spätzle here is giving that a run for its money! We biked here after a sunny afternoon at Tempelhofer Feld and needed some nourishment. The waitress was really nice and gave us a spot by the window to cool down. She helped us with suggestions and questions and we quickly had drinks and meals in front of us. And wow, everything was fantastic. The goulash and the spätzle were both some of the best I've tried. The goulash melts in your mouth and the spätzle is perfectly cooked and prepared with such great pairings (even the gorgonzola, which I don't normally like a lot of!). It's a little pricier than a standard traditional German spot off the beaten path, but it's definitely worth it for the quality of the food. We were thoroughly impressed with the whole experience. I wish it were a little closer to home because I want to come back here and try everything on the menu!

Nice restaurant with very good food. To be honest, I find a time slot of 1 3/4 hours difficult, especially if you wait a long time. We had made a reservation for 5:15 p.m. and were able to eat the (very good) main courses at 6:15 p.m. We were directed to the bar at 7 p.m. sharp. That's a real turn-off, sorry. Everything was otherwise very fine. The trout was delicious, there was no space and an extra plate for the bones. Sauerkraut and Kassler are great. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the apricot dumpling, too mushy, not enough apricots, we couldn't really find them.

Recommended by a local and then checked the reviews which were outstanding and not wrong! Shared the Gulach with beef and spatzle (sooo tender and flavorful and came with some lingonberry on the side so it was savory and sweet) and this vegan fried oyster mushroom dish with potato salad (sooo crispy light and again so much flavor!). Highly recommend and definitely want to come back to try more of the menu.

The service was very nice and accommodating, unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing, the salads were a bit bland and the cheese spaetzle looked good, but wasn't a hit under a pile of poorly fried onions. Especially since I don't find the prices particularly cheap for Kreuzberg standards.

Very tasty food, a modern interpretation of German cuisine with fresh ingredients. I always enjoy coming here. The staff is super friendly, the price is good and the atmosphere is cozy. Be sure to reserve if you want to sit inside - it's easy to do online. Absolute recommendation!

Premier restaurant à Berlin et nous avons été ravis. Service souriant et efficace. Nous avons pris seulement les plats principaux car c’était très copieux et des desserts. Tout semble fait maison. Le boudin purée était délicieux. Le poulet vegan fait avec des champignons était bluffant (mais un peu gras). On pensait vraiment que c’était du poulet au départ ! Et les spätzels était très bons également. Le dessert à la vanille et aux fruits rouges ainsi que celui aux abricots (chauds) et sa crème complétaient bien ce délicieux repas. Enfin le vin au verre des Pouilles (primitivo) était très bon. 77 euros à trois avec le pourboire était tes raisonnable. Pensez a réserver car c’était complet.

This is a German restaurant that is always surprisingly delicious. I always recommend this place to my friends whenever they visit Berlin. This is my fourth visit, and this restaurant always exceeds my expectations. (The photo is from last summer :) )

A great traditional local German restaurant in a lovely part of Kreuzberg. Portions are huge, service super friendly and the menu peppered with a few unexpected local dishes along side classic German favourites. Definitely book and make a visit!

A wonderful place with delicious food. “Heaven and Earth” was a poem! A very good black pudding, plus three roasted slices of black pudding and always amazing: how delicious and rich in nuances mashed potatoes can be when they are well made.

The service was absolutely terrible. Aggressive, mean and rude waitress who made our night a disaster and I'm not dramatizing, that was unimaginably bad.

An absolute gem of the local area. We were recommended to eat here from our Airbnb host and thank goodness we took him up on it. You definitely need to book before coming but you'll be greeted to an extremely cosy dining experience. Amazing food, fantastic service and at an affordable price. This is simply a must try if you are in the Kreuzberg area of Berlin.

Very cool and delicious restaurant. Went there with foreigner friends so we could have German food and it was a nice experience. The staff were very nice, the food plates were well served and the taste, amazing. They have vegetarian options from the traditional plates and that is great for those wanting to try. I recommend booking the table before, since the restaurant is always with guests! The price is also worth and not super expensive for good food, service and environment.

Wonderful, small restaurant in Kreuzberg, where southern German, northern German and old Berlin cuisine come together very tastefully. 👏🏽 Value is placed on regional, seasonal products and our own preparation... and because even the spaetzle is homemade, we have fair prices (+ many payment options). 👌🏽 Presenting the menus as old typewriter-printed dictation books is of course extra original and contributes to the cozy, authentic flair of the restaurant. 😄 Everyone is very nice, communicative and knows their craft. It would really be a full 5 stars if accessibility wasn't a given here either (as in many Berlin addresses). 🤷🏽‍♀️ This might be solved in the summer when you can sit outside.

Extraordinary German classics, wonderfully prepared. Small, good cocktail menu. Fast, friendly service. Unfortunately, it's difficult to do anything spontaneously. You should avoid “arriving” by car because of “resident parking”. Recommendation!

We came without a reservation. The service was super friendly and made it possible for us to get a seat even though it was completely full. The atmosphere is very cozy and rustic. The food was delicious and exceeded all expectations. We'll come back next time we visit Berlin 😊

Food was the best yet I've eaten in Germany. Only complaint is that the plates could be warmed before plating - helps to keep the dish warm and arromatic.

Our evening at Peter Schlemihl was excellent! The atmosphere, the service and the food were perfectly balanced. The small but nice menu helps you make a decision and the weekly dish (this time lamb shank with mashed potatoes and carrots) is absolutely delicious! Happy to come back!

Peter rulez. Food not life changing, but very solid. price point, ambiance are great. All together, great restaurant. (have only had the the normal kase spatzle and the gorgonzola spatzle).

Verstehe nicht, warum so hohe Bewertungen aufgerufen werden. Das Boeuf Bourgoigne war allenfalls brauchbar. Es fehlte Zwiebeln, Möhren und der Rotwein in der Zubereitung. Das Sauerkraut der Vorspeise war kaum durchgegoren, Kartoffelsalat, Gurkensalat Standard langweilig. Service gut

Wir waren wegen meines Geburtstags im Schlemihl essen da ich mich schon seit längerem auf sie dortigen Käsespätzle gefreut hatte. Dann gab es aber so ein super klingendes Hauptgericht "Wildschweingulasch mit Spätzle und Salat". Leider muss ich aber sagen, dass ich mir hier mehr davon erhofft hatte. 1) Leider war es nicht sehr wildlastig im Geschmack, hätte auch Rind sein können. 😳 2) Leider war es eher eine Portion Salat mit Spätzle und Gulasch wenn man sich die Mengenverhältnisse anschaut. Ich hatte eher an Salat als Beilage gedacht. Geschmacklich war alles dennoch sehr lecker. Daher nur 1* Abzug.

Hier gibt es sehr gutes Essen in gemütlicher Kiezatmosphäre. Die Karte ist klein aber fein und es gibt meist ein leckers Tagesessen. Das Bier vom Fass ist frisch und lecker. DIe Preise sind für die hohe Qualität mehr als fair. Der Service ist sehr freudlich und kompetent. Die Marillenknödel sind der Knaller. Die besten die ich jeh gegessen habe. Und ich war schon dutzende Male in den Alpen unterwegs. Unbedingt probieren!!! Ein Juwel abseits der Touristenströme des Bergmannkiezs am schönen Chamissoplatz.

Freundlicher Service und gutes Essen. Angebot an vegetarischen Produkten für mich ausreichend vorhanden. Die Weinkarte ist etwas klein. Aber eine sehr schöne Atmosphäre.

Ein ganz toller Ort! Die Bedienung war super freundlich und so gut gelaunt, das Essen absolut köstlich (wir hatten Labskaus und Allgäuer Spätzle), das war definitiv nicht mein letzter Besuch, kann das Peter Schlemihl nur empfehlen!!!

In einem Wort zusammengefasst: TOP Wir waren voll des Lobes. So ein leckeres Essen und dann noch zu diesen Preisen hatten wir schon ewig nicht mehr. Großes Lob an die Küche. Wir waren im Zuge eines Konzerts in der Nähe, hatten vorher reserviert (Was durchaus Sinn gemacht hatte, denn es wurde gut voll und das an einem Montag!) kommen sehr gerne wieder und sind begeistert. Ganz kleiner Hinweis: Wenn es voll ist, ist es sehr laut und eine Unterhaltung schwierig ;-).

Ein Mr besondere Freude war direkt das Schultheiß vom Fass! Berliner Bier u d gerade vom Fass ist in Berlin ja nicht mehr unbedingt eine Selbstverständlichkeit. Als Vorspeise gab es saftige Rinderbouletten, die ebenso wie das Dessert (Marilleknödel geteilt wurden. Der Marilleknödel war leider ein wenig trocken, die Vanillesoße aber super lecker. Die Hauptspeise war ein Rollbraten-Burger. Zwingende Empfehlung. Leider ist bei Reservierung(unbedingt zu empfehlen) nur ein Zeitfenster von knapp zwei Stunden vorgesehen. Das macht es am Ende ein wenig ungemütlich.

Gehe immer wieder gerne hin. Deutsche Küche aber gemacht für Feinschmecker. Personal ist super freundlich und Ambiente ist auch top.

Essen gut, aber leider hat der Service keinen guten Abend gehabt, war sehr unaufmerksam. Es kam keinerlei Nachfrage ob wir noch was bestellen möchten, mussten förmlich um die Speisekarte betteln und dann hatte ich auch eher das Gefühl dass die Augen verdreht werden. Das geht besser, vielleicht lag es daran dass wir ein Kind dabei hatten.

Absolutely best dinner we had in Berlin - its German dishes, in a relaxed but modern vibe, doesnt feel fake, awesome beer, I still think about the dessert. Well priced, huge portions, lovely service. Just an easy and pleasing experience that felt like a gem amongst tourist traps.

Meeega lecker. Mein Favorite ist der Stampf. Einfach jedes Mal super. Immer freundlich und herzlich. Fühlen uns sehr wohl. Man sitzt wirklich nett draußen ohne den ganzen Trubel der Bergmannstr. Reservierung drinnen unbedingt erforderlich. Draußen keine Reservierung möglich, also muss man der erste sein ;) Auch im März 2023 alles noch so wie geschrieben. Preise fair. Qualität super. Es gibt Kinderstühle. Eingang und Toilette nur über Stufe/Treppe zu erreichen. Auch im August immer noch genauso super und empfehlenswert.

German small town vibe in the middle of the city and stupidly delicious classic German dishes that hug you from the inside. Attentive and friendly staff with tasteful lighting and ambience. Perfect for dates, good conversations over delicious meals. Lately though all of the nice things I've written above are more of a roll of a die.

Deutsche Küche, aber in gut! Als Vegetarierin, die sich auch viel vegan ernährt, hab ich es nicht so mit der üblicherweise sehr fleischlastigen heimischen Küche. Im Peter Schlemihl gibt es aber meiner Meinung nach genug vegetarische/vegane Optionen auf der kleinen Karte. Mit viel Hunger schafft man auch Vor- und Hauptspeise, in meinem Fall das Viererlei und den Burger. Danke für den schönen Abend!

I don’t ever leave reviews (as my profile shall attest) but from the second I walked in I felt welcome and at home. I’ve been a bartender for over a decade, so the small things mean the world to me. The staff were as amazing as the food (and DAMN was that food amazing.) thank you all so very much for the special memories and for the Korn shots. Ha! 🖤
