Best food we could find in Berlin. Lovely atmosphere and staff and the food was incredible. Wish I could have tried everything on the menu!

Goulash, spinach dumplings and spaetzle were very good. The sours are an imposition. Not too comfortable, but still nice atmosphere.

We had arranged to have dinner with friends and luckily had reserved a table because it was very busy and the staff were professional and very friendly. The food is extremely tasty, special mention goes to the spinach dumplings. And all of this at a very fair price-performance ratio. Would love to come back. s to one

One of my favorite places in Berlin

Simple rustic atmosphere, very nice and quick service. The dishes are simple classics: we had meatballs, black pudding and two types of cheese spaetzle. But: each of the dishes was pretty close to perfection. By the way: the wines were pretty good too.

Very cute little restaurant. Reservation recommended, the location has limited spaces and is always busy - reservations can be made online! Here you can pay with EC card and the service was very attentive and friendly. The food was hearty, large portions and very tasty. We had the spaetzle and the salad selection beforehand. We were full and the price was ok. We will definitely come here again.

Somos relativamente nuevos en Berlín y haciendo un tour culinario de la ciudad. Esta fue una de nuestras mejores selecciones en la lista y estábamos muy emocionados de probar el lugar. Desafortunadamente desde el principio no fue una buena impresión. Traté de reservar en línea para esa noche, no es posible. Intentamos por teléfono toda la tarde, sin respuesta y su respuesta una vez que llegamos fue que su teléfono no funciona. El lugar estaba muy lleno y tuvimos que compartir mesa con otras personas, después de esperar 30 minutos. OK ahora a la comida: fue el Käsespätzle más soso y aburrido que hemos comido en toda Alemania. En lugar de una textura espesa y cursi que debería presentarse cuando levantas el tenedor del plato, era una salsa crema líquida como una salsa de pasta. Muy poco sabor y no había sal, pimienta o ningún condimento disponible para mejorar el sabor. En general este local desprende el ambiente de un bar de tapas en Madrid. Muy ruidoso, la mayoría de la gente bebiendo y compartiendo mesas mientras te sientas en bancos de madera. No es un ambiente de restaurante real y la comida definitivamente no era algo para volver. Los tres puntos son para el personal amable y la decoración encantadora con las velas y el menú diario escrito a mano.

I ordered a Spätzle Blau. It’s a German pasta with Gorgonzola, walnut and rocket. To drink an Espresso martini and as sweet, chocolate mousse. Everything was great, good portion size, flavor. I’d recommend to make a reservation in advance. Will definitely be back.

We had the cheese spaetzle and spinach dumplings - both a 10/10! Large portions at really reasonable prices. The shop is super cozy, we felt completely at home and would love to come back.

If you want to experience German home cooking in a lively atmosphere, you have to go to Chamissoplatz. I've never made a mistake here, everything tastes very good and the service is friendly and attentive.

Ambience: The restaurant is small and cozy with a pleasant atmosphere and nice music. The cleanliness was apparently good (we can't judge the toilets), but unfortunately there was a smell of cleaning products, which was a bit annoying. It was also cold, which also affected our well-being. Overall rating: three out of five points. Service: The service had positive approaches. We were kindly pointed out a suitable drink and off-menu dishes that we liked. Even without a reservation we got a table straight away. Unfortunately there was a lack of attention during the meal: neither during the starter nor during the main course were we asked whether everything was OK or whether we needed anything. After the meal, the empty plates remained and I had to clear away the starter plate myself to make room for the main course - even though there were enough staff and many tables were still empty. Overall, we rate the service with two out of five points. Food (double weighted): • Appetizers: We had a small appetizer plate with four different salads: lentil salad, coleslaw, cucumber salad and potato salad. Unfortunately, they all lacked some sophistication. The lentil salad could have used some heat, and both the coleslaw and cucumber salad were tasty, but only pickled in acid - a little sweetness would help to balance out the flavor and make it more intense. The potato salad was cold and therefore had little taste; Served lukewarm, perhaps with diced bacon for some crunch and a savory note, it would certainly have been better. The amount of bread was also disappointing: there was only half a slice for two people - even for one person that would be rather limited. Overall, we only give the starters two out of five points. • Main courses: We were happier with the main courses. The cheese spaetzle was excellent and deserves a full five out of five points. A small side dish was three meatballs with mustard. Here, however, the seasoning was rather weak and there was a lack of parsley and salt. The simple mustard from the jar would have seemed more intense and rounded with a mustard sauce with olive oil, honey and lemon juice. The meatballs therefore receive three out of five points. The second main course, a crispy roasted duck with mashed potatoes and salad, was also excellent, and here too we give it a full five out of five points. So the food overall is 3.5 points. Conclusion: We achieved an overall rating of three out of five possible stars. In summary: There is potential for improvement, especially with the appetizers and the service.

Sweet, rustic shop! It's been a long time since I've had such good cheese spaetzle, the last time was in the Alps. The duck is also a dream. Great service, sensational food and great location!

Small Berlin restaurant with good German cuisine and friendly service right on Chamissoplatz. In addition to the Labskaus, we ate Königsberger Klopse and Allgäuer Spätzle. All very tasty.

This is my third time at this restaurant, and I can confirm its quality once again. The location in Chamissoplatz, near Bergmannkiez, is beautiful, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu features fix dishes, but they also have specials on certain days. I tried the trout, which was exceptional—tender and aromatic, thanks to a perfect marinade. Due to an allergy, I didn't think dessert would be an option, but the chef creatively offered me an alternative on the spot. This is a clear sign of a motivated and professional kitchen team. Thank you for ending my evening on a sweet note!

We were there for dinner yesterday, October 7th. Beautiful ambience, very good basil smash and delicious food. Unfortunately, these aspects were not underlined by the friendliness of the service. When asked if she could recommend our order, she shrugged listlessly. The cutlery was carelessly slapped onto the table and we had to pull every answer to our questions out of her. Too bad

Great German food in a quiet corner of Berlin, passionate service, great. We were there 2 days ago and, in addition to really authentic cheese spaetzle and goulash, we had really good cava. The apricot dumpling doesn't need to fear any competition either. Great. If we come back to Berlin, we'll be happy to come back if we're looking for German cuisine 👌

I have only a few words of German, but they were very accommodating. Spätzle was was very good. Sat outside so can't comment on atmosphere, but it is hidden on a pretty, quiet, residential street, so not much car or foot traffic. Service was good and very friendly, and food came reasonably quickly.

Excelente restaurante local en la zona de Bergmannkiez, frente a la plaza Chamisso. Al llegar, nos sentamos inmediatamente. La comida era muy buena y suave. Efectivamente, los platos son saludables y nos fuimos llenos pero sin sentirnos pesados. Nuestro camarero fue atento y respondió a nuestras preguntas en inglés (y nos respondió en alemán cuando le hicimos preguntas en nuestro pobre alemán, que apreciamos). Algunas mesas son para compartir. Nos preguntaron si estábamos de acuerdo con eso, lo cual estábamos haciendo. A pesar de que terminamos compartiendo mesa con una pareja, la distancia es suficiente para mantener una conversación sin la sensación de estar sentado con los otros dos. El espacio exterior es muy agradable también, especialmente en estos días de verano. Pudimos pagar con tarjeta, que no se concede en Berlín. Sin duda lo recomiendo!

The goulash was very tasty but the spaetzle didn't taste like anything for all three of us. Staff friendly but very slow. The ambience is nice but the toilets urgently need a thorough cleaning. We were there at 5 p.m. when it opened, so you expect cleanliness. the doors are dirty and the toilet is worn out.

Fantastic restaurant in an equally lovely neighbourhood. We had such a nice dinner here and the wait staff were absolutely a delight. Friendly, helpful and always smiling. Only one comment I have is about my spinach "dumpling" it was more like a "cake." It was delicious but way too dense and hearty than what i imagine a regular dumpling. It was very filling and I had a hard time finishing it. I had a little taste of a the gulash and it was simply divine. Will definitely come back again.

Lovely place! Traditional German food, decent portions and prices. I had a fish special and it was very lemony and delicious.

The noise in the restaurant was definitely too much for me

Normally I get schnitzel whenever possible because that's my favorite German dish, but I must say, the spätzle here is giving that a run for its money! We biked here after a sunny afternoon at Tempelhofer Feld and needed some nourishment. The waitress was really nice and gave us a spot by the window to cool down. She helped us with suggestions and questions and we quickly had drinks and meals in front of us. And wow, everything was fantastic. The goulash and the spätzle were both some of the best I've tried. The goulash melts in your mouth and the spätzle is perfectly cooked and prepared with such great pairings (even the gorgonzola, which I don't normally like a lot of!). It's a little pricier than a standard traditional German spot off the beaten path, but it's definitely worth it for the quality of the food. We were thoroughly impressed with the whole experience. I wish it were a little closer to home because I want to come back here and try everything on the menu!

Nice restaurant with very good food. To be honest, I find a time slot of 1 3/4 hours difficult, especially if you wait a long time. We had made a reservation for 5:15 p.m. and were able to eat the (very good) main courses at 6:15 p.m. We were directed to the bar at 7 p.m. sharp. That's a real turn-off, sorry. Everything was otherwise very fine. The trout was delicious, there was no space and an extra plate for the bones. Sauerkraut and Kassler are great. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the apricot dumpling, too mushy, not enough apricots, we couldn't really find them.

Recommended by a local and then checked the reviews which were outstanding and not wrong! Shared the Gulach with beef and spatzle (sooo tender and flavorful and came with some lingonberry on the side so it was savory and sweet) and this vegan fried oyster mushroom dish with potato salad (sooo crispy light and again so much flavor!). Highly recommend and definitely want to come back to try more of the menu.

The service was very nice and accommodating, unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing, the salads were a bit bland and the cheese spaetzle looked good, but wasn't a hit under a pile of poorly fried onions. Especially since I don't find the prices particularly cheap for Kreuzberg standards.

Premier restaurant à Berlin et nous avons été ravis. Service souriant et efficace. Nous avons pris seulement les plats principaux car c’était très copieux et des desserts. Tout semble fait maison. Le boudin purée était délicieux. Le poulet vegan fait avec des champignons était bluffant (mais un peu gras). On pensait vraiment que c’était du poulet au départ ! Et les spätzels était très bons également. Le dessert à la vanille et aux fruits rouges ainsi que celui aux abricots (chauds) et sa crème complétaient bien ce délicieux repas. Enfin le vin au verre des Pouilles (primitivo) était très bon. 77 euros à trois avec le pourboire était tes raisonnable. Pensez a réserver car c’était complet.

This is a German restaurant that is always surprisingly delicious. I always recommend this place to my friends whenever they visit Berlin. This is my fourth visit, and this restaurant always exceeds my expectations. (The photo is from last summer :) )

A great traditional local German restaurant in a lovely part of Kreuzberg. Portions are huge, service super friendly and the menu peppered with a few unexpected local dishes along side classic German favourites. Definitely book and make a visit!

A wonderful place with delicious food. “Heaven and Earth” was a poem! A very good black pudding, plus three roasted slices of black pudding and always amazing: how delicious and rich in nuances mashed potatoes can be when they are well made.

The service was absolutely terrible. Aggressive, mean and rude waitress who made our night a disaster and I'm not dramatizing, that was unimaginably bad.

An absolute gem of the local area. We were recommended to eat here from our Airbnb host and thank goodness we took him up on it. You definitely need to book before coming but you'll be greeted to an extremely cosy dining experience. Amazing food, fantastic service and at an affordable price. This is simply a must try if you are in the Kreuzberg area of Berlin.

Very cool and delicious restaurant. Went there with foreigner friends so we could have German food and it was a nice experience. The staff were very nice, the food plates were well served and the taste, amazing. They have vegetarian options from the traditional plates and that is great for those wanting to try. I recommend booking the table before, since the restaurant is always with guests! The price is also worth and not super expensive for good food, service and environment.

Wonderful, small restaurant in Kreuzberg, where southern German, northern German and old Berlin cuisine come together very tastefully. 👏🏽 Value is placed on regional, seasonal products and our own preparation... and because even the spaetzle is homemade, we have fair prices (+ many payment options). 👌🏽 Presenting the menus as old typewriter-printed dictation books is of course extra original and contributes to the cozy, authentic flair of the restaurant. 😄 Everyone is very nice, communicative and knows their craft. It would really be a full 5 stars if accessibility wasn't a given here either (as in many Berlin addresses). 🤷🏽‍♀️ This might be solved in the summer when you can sit outside.

We came without a reservation. The service was super friendly and made it possible for us to get a seat even though it was completely full. The atmosphere is very cozy and rustic. The food was delicious and exceeded all expectations. We'll come back next time we visit Berlin 😊
