We were in Düsseldorf over the weekend and were really craving Persian cuisine. According to Google reviews, this was one of the highly rated Persian restaurants. Unfortunately, it was disappointing – unpleasant odor in the restaurant. When we entered the restaurant, we immediately noticed a very unpleasant odor – a mixture of dampness and possible mold. We stood in the entrance area for less than two minutes and immediately decided to leave. It was absolutely incomprehensible to us how other guests could sit and eat with such a smell. The owner should urgently investigate this problem and do something about it – for hygiene reasons alone, but also in the interest of his guests. It's a real shame, because we were actually looking forward to our visit.

We went to the Arabian Nights restaurant as a family. They brought our food late and charged us an extra ten euros when we paid. We called and said, "You charged us ten euros more, give us our money back." They didn't. They didn't give us our money.

Without informing us, they gave us a more expensive menu – they offer two different menus with different prices. The bill was also higher. When we asked about it, the response was very unfriendly. One of the worst Baghali Polo dishes I've ever had. Probably the worst Iranian restaurant in Europe. The decor was outdated, the restroom was dark, and the food was disappointing. The bread was store-bought, the pickles tasted strongly of low-quality vinegar, and even the faludeh and bastani were just supermarket versions. The only thing that tasted decent was the Zeytoon Parvardeh (marinated olives). The portion of cheese in the appetizer was laughably small. In all my years living in Europe, 99% of the Iranian, Turkish, or Kurdish restaurant I’ve been to has offered complimentary tea with rock candy — even when the food wasn’t great. Here, the tea was low quality and cost €4.5, and they didn’t return the small change from my payment — not sure why. It seems they decided to take a tip without asking. Very disappointing experience overall.

Food was really crappy. They should sell Shirazi salad per gram as they charge a lot of money for it and certainly not tasty. Bread was too old and certainly not from the same day. On the menu you are scammed by showing a photo much larger than it is and for a world price. Despite all the disappointment, there was no pleasant atmosphere at all, the music was way too loud and we had to wait even longer for our food because something in the kitchen was broken🥱. Pure disappointment!! First of all, no space was kept free for the people we had reserved for, after we pointed this out to the owner, she tried to convince us that we had made a mistake with the number when making the reservation, even though we had everything in hand in a WhatsApp chat. After a discussion, she was content to add two chairs for us so that we could at least squeeze in. We paid €80 per person and therefore had a minimum consumption of €80 thanks to their New Year's Eve promotion. Everyone has ordered starters and the main course, and the starter also arrived, unfortunately without cutlery so we had to wait a while. We then waited 2 hours for our food and were brushed off every time we asked for it. Then the boss personally came to the table and told us that we should be patient because it was supposed to be the best shop in North Rhine-Westphalia and in a very condescending tone. We didn't want to spoil our New Year's Eve and simply replied that we hope the food tastes as promised. After 2 hours the food came and seriously it was just tasteless in my opinion, because it took so long to serve, one person left earlier and didn't even order anything to eat. Shortly afterwards, the staff came to us and pointed out that our budget had now been used up. Together we tried to come up with €1120 for 14 people and one person, but we couldn't figure it out. Of course we asked for a bill which we never received. Instead, they didn't want to discuss the bill any further and preferred to buy us a bottle.
