I found the waiter very nice. The meat had a very unpleasant taste and smell. The rice was good, but the meat ruined everyone's appetite at the table. We paid for the meal. We were accused of not being able to handle the spices or the ambiance because we barely touched our food. I actually really like Persian cuisine.

Visit this restaurant at 31-12-2025 new years evening. I am not Persian but have enjoyed at full. Friendly staff, especially a woman with short hair, she was very friendly! This evening there was also live music. Food tasted so good! With my friends we are visiting many restaurants but this was had exactly everything how we like it. Perfectly salted ayran, tasty soup, and kubide that melt in your mouth. I almost forget about bread. Best of the best. We are definitely will visit this restaurant again!

A few days ago, I visited this restaurant. Last year, my company ordered different food from here, which was so good that once I saw it, we decided to visit in person. First, a nice lady welcomed us, and then there were two funny men there — all of them were super friendly and funny. The food was amazing and really tasty. I can definitely recommend it! We ordered Soltani, Kobide, Mas Mosir, and Doogh (the total came to 65€). They also brought us soup and noon, Panir sabzi for free. Totally recommended!

Two days ago, I made a reservation for New Year's Eve at this restaurant, which was confirmed the same day. It was all the more disappointing, then, that I received a cancellation notice yesterday, just half an hour before the scheduled time – without any explanation. Especially on New Year's Eve, such a last-minute cancellation is extremely frustrating and shows a distinct lack of customer service. This approach unfortunately leaves a very negative impression. It seems that other guests may have been given preferential treatment without any explanation.

New years evening, I have had one of the best nights in my life. I can truly say the ambiance was perfect with live singing that night. Don't get me started about the food, If there was a rating that i could give even more than 5 stars, i would do it within a heartbeat. Chelo Koobideh, outstanding!! One of the best Koobideh's i have ever had the privilige to eat (believe me i ate a lot) simply the best! Khoresh-e-fesenjãn. Meat was so tender, fall of the bone, the herbs en flavour out of this world. I could eat this 5x times with the kebab, it was simply that good. Lastly the service was excellent and the people where very very kind. Thank you for this evening! I will be back 100%

I didn't actually want to write a review, but the owner asked me to, so here it is. The prices on the website don't match those on the menu at all. You pay significantly more in the restaurant, which is simply misleading. It almost feels like a rip-off. Charging €8.90 per glass of simple red wine? Ridiculous, especially considering the poor atmosphere and the complete lack of service or class. The food was bad and possibly even unsafe. The chicken and minced meat in the kebab were clearly not fresh; we left it, but we still paid for it. In short: misleading prices, poor quality, and poor service. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant.

I wanted to treat four of my German friends to proper Persian food, so I chose 1001 Shab because of its beautiful decor and promising menu. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff were friendly, but unfortunately the evening turned into an embarrassment for me. Without us ordering it, the waiter brought a complimentary cold soup as a “gift from the house.” It arrived completely cold (not refreshing-chilled, but room-temperature and watery), totally tasteless, and none of us could finish more than a spoonful. When the long-awaited chelo kabab koobideh finally arrived, the rice and the kebabs were also lukewarm verging on cold exactly the opposite of what this dish should be. The meat was dry, the rice had lost its fragrance, and the whole plate simply felt tired. At these prices (€20–25 per person), serving signature dishes cold is simply not acceptable. My friends were polite about it, but I could see they were confused and underwhelmed by their first experience of Persian cuisine, and I felt genuinely ashamed that this was the impression they took home. I very much hope the kitchen pays more attention to temperature and seasoning in the future, because right now the execution does not match the beautiful setting or the prices. Sadly, we will not be returning.

We were there with a large group and were barely acknowledged by the staff. When someone did come to us, either half of our ordered drinks were missing or we were served rudely and dismissively. The food was cold and not as tasty as one would expect from authentic Persian food. We ordered an extra portion of barberries (zereshk) with our rice for €5—what arrived was five barberries placed on top of the rice as a garnish. But we still had to pay in the end.

The restaurant is beautiful, the décor is lovely, and the staff are genuinely kind honestly, they were the highlight of the evening. I walked in excited, ready for a great Persian meal. What I got instead felt a bit like the dress rehearsal of a good restaurant that just didn’t quite make it to opening night. I ordered the chelo mahicheh (چلو ماهیچه), which arrived impressively cold — so cold that for a moment I wondered if maybe I was supposed to cook it myself. It also had that unmistakable “freshly defrosted” charm that takes you right back to childhood freezer memories. The rice (برنج) joined the party equally cold and looking like it had given up on life a little too early. And the doogh (دوغ)? Let’s just say it was so salty I briefly considered using it to de-ice the sidewalk outside. The music was okay, but everything was in minor chords, so halfway through my meal I started questioning my life choices like I was in the middle of a dramatic Iranian movie. Not exactly the uplifting dining experience I was hoping for. It’s really a shame, because the place has potential and the staff honestly deserve a standing ovation. But with food like this, it was my first and unfortunately my last visit. Update: I’d like to correct a few facts: I didn’t pay for one lamb shank but paidfor the rice, yes but I ordered two more to take home, plus the one from my plate. My total was €72, and I left an €8 tip, so the claim that I “didn’t pay” is false. I took 2× take-out portions home, and unfortunately I had ordered them before I knew the quality of the food. I took the food home for my dogs, since I couldn’t eat it due to the issues I described. My review wasn’t sabotage , I praised your staff because they were wonderful, and my comments about the food were simply my honest experience as a paying customer. Instead of throwing false, angry words back at me, try reading all of your negative feedback and use it to improve the food. I hope this clears things up. Update #2 I’d also like to ask for your permission regarding one thing: My entire visit was recorded on my Meta glasses. If you agree, I’d like to upload the video to YouTube and share the link under my review, so everything is clear and transparent from both sides. Especially the payment part! Please let me know if you give permission for the footage to be posted publicly.

Absolutely not recommended! This restaurant charged us €30 just to bring the birthday cake we had brought ourselves to our table. They didn't even open the packaging or light the candles – yet we still had to pay €30. Furthermore, we weren't informed beforehand that there would be an extra charge. After we complained, we were met with a very rude response. Other restaurants usually take care of everything themselves for such occasions without charging extra, only billing for the food and any additional orders. I'm really disappointed that I went there on my birthday.

I would not recommend this place at all. The prices are more expensive than other places and they don't tell you the price before providing the service. For example, we asked for 4 plates and knives for our cake and they charged us 30 euros without telling us the cost beforehand. And their music was so loud that it was really annoying.

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was disappointing. The room was somewhat untidy and smelled strongly of paint, which made the atmosphere unpleasant. The Kubideh kebab had hardly any meat flavor and tasted more like soggy bread. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

I visited this Iranian restaurant, but unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the quality of the food. The salad was very poor, and the watery salad dressing ran directly under the kebab, which was all served together on one plate. The music was too loud and of poor quality – I asked several times to turn it down or down, but was told that this was not possible. Furthermore, I couldn't pay by card and had to pay laboriously via PayPal. However, I would like to mention the waiter on a positive note: he was very polite and friendly.

Absolutely fantastic place. My husband and I come here regularly, at least once a week! We've tried every Persian restaurant in the Düsseldorf and Cologne area. In terms of taste, absolutely nothing comes close. It's absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The staff and the chef are also incredibly friendly!

We've tried everything, from Alborz in Cologne to Rezas in Düsseldorf. Nothing comes close to the deliciousness of this restaurant. From the khubide to the lamb skewer, it's so tender and flavorful. I think the Saturday programs are much nicer than at Rezas, for example. It doesn't seem as hectic and chaotic, but rather has a wonderful atmosphere. We come often, and the food is always delicious! I don't understand the lack of stars here. It's more than worth a visit!

Very nice customer service and super quality food

We were in Düsseldorf over the weekend and were really craving Persian cuisine. According to Google reviews, this was one of the highly rated Persian restaurants. Unfortunately, it was disappointing – unpleasant odor in the restaurant. When we entered the restaurant, we immediately noticed a very unpleasant odor – a mixture of dampness and possible mold. We stood in the entrance area for less than two minutes and immediately decided to leave. It was absolutely incomprehensible to us how other guests could sit and eat with such a smell. The owner should urgently investigate this problem and do something about it – for hygiene reasons alone, but also in the interest of his guests. It's a real shame, because we were actually looking forward to our visit.

We were so impressed with the service and the dishes that we ate there again the next evening. The portions are generous and freshly prepared with plenty of vegetables. In warm weather, the dougha drink is delicious.
