Persisches Restaurant Kababsara in Mainz

I'll make it short: The whole place is unloving. Starting with the ambience, the brittle (service) charm and the pricing. Last but not least, the food: apart from a lot of rice, hardly anything on the plate. Skewers were dry, the lamb skewer smelled very bad, the casserole had hardly any meat, little eggplant and was way too sour... I like Arabic cuisine, but there won't be a second time here...

Always an experience and the boss is very friendly and explains everything. The food is very tasty 😋 😋

Bad food and rude service – disappointing! The food was an absolute disaster – bland, barely seasoned and carelessly prepared. There was no trace of authentic Persian cuisine here. Added to this is the unfriendly owner who spoiled our entire evening with her manner. You don't feel welcome or well served, and the food doesn't make it any better. For the money you can get far better quality and service elsewhere. Not recommended!

Went for dinner on a Friday evening with the family (7 people in total). The food was very, very good. Some of us had vegetarian dishes, the majority meat dishes. Both types were very well received. Portion sizes were appropriate for entree dishes. The meats were cooked to perfection and the flavor of the food was amazing. The desserts were very tasty as well. We were served by the one of the owners of the restaurant, she was informative, funny, attentive throughout the entire dinner. I can highly recommend eating at this restaurant.

I ordered food for €50 and asked to pack some more bread. Instead I was rudely informed that there would be a surcharge for a little extra bread. The customer service on the phone was extremely unfriendly. Additionally, the food was disappointing: the Baghali Polo contained no Baghali at all, and the kebab was very dry. Absolutely no recommendation!

We once again had a wonderful evening and a wonderful meal with very nice service and we always enjoy coming here.

We called today (October 3rd) to politely ask if they had ash (آش) to eat there. The employee responded very rudely. Never again!

Absolutely disappointing! This was by far the worst Persian food I have ever had to try. Everything tasted bland and was clearly prepared carelessly. To call something like this Persian cuisine is almost an insult. But the worst was the service: extremely rude, disrespectful and zero interest in the guest. Every attempt to say something friendly was met with a stroppy response. Anyone who goes here should set their expectations very low. Save yourself the money and time!

HANDS OFF the food and the restaurant!!! Disgusting food (with hair in it), loveless atmosphere, rude & disrespectful owner. After we kindly pointed out the hair in the food to the lady, she started making racist comments, insulted us and even wanted to throw us out of the restaurant. We have eaten at Kababsara several times. It was always delicious, no matter who we were there with, everyone always enjoyed it. The service is very nice and friendly and takes care of the guests. The portions are anything but small. You will definitely get full here. In terms of price, it's perfectly reasonable since you have lamb on the plate and not pork. Lamb is generally more expensive. We have also been there with Schlemmerblock and there have never been any problems. We'll definitely come back.

Called on Sunday to pre-order for a birthday a few days later. We were told that if you pay in advance you have to come in person to pay (for a bill of just under €200). I have never experienced that for such amounts (8 dishes) I have to pay in full in advance, drive to the restaurant JUST to pay and therefore the reservation is only accepted. Regardless, if you agreed to bring the money over on Monday, it won't work because it's their day off. Tuesday (delivery day) is also too short notice, so the order ultimately could not be placed. Any suggestions for compromise were met with such an arrogant, unfriendly manner and uncaring attitude that one wonders if the restaurant even wants to sell their food. When I order food for a group of people in the evening, no restaurant says they have to come and pay first and then they can order. Absolutely unfriendly and unprofessional, what a shame!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant! Lactose and gluten intolerances are discussed here! The cook is super nice and serves you at the same time! It was a dream here!

Amazing service! The staff were the kindest I’ve ever encountered. They explained the dishes perfectly and were patient and super kind through and through. The food was nothing but perfect. The size of the portions were big enough that we were very full but not too big to feel bad. 10\10 would always recommend and bring loved ones here.

We ate there with 9 people. We were warmly welcomed by the boss and served attentively throughout the evening. The portions were large and we all enjoyed it. We will definitely eat there again!

Unfortunately, absolutely not recommended. Unfortunately I can't understand the positive reviews. And, addressed to the nice fellow reviewer: My review is NOT politically motivated, but should ideally motivate the owner to question his/her concept. I go out to eat every evening (!) and very often Persian. There are far better Persian restaurants. We were there on a Sunday afternoon to use our gourmet block again. The restaurant was yawningly empty (in retrospect, that was the first point that should have given us pause). We were initially greeted warmly and despite the completely empty(!) restaurant, we were not allowed to sit where we wanted, but had to choose one of two tables that were shown to us. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The drinks arrived promptly. The starter after about 5 minutes, which we were very surprised about. Unfortunately, the meatball, which had apparently been heated in the microwave, was cold in the middle and extremely salty (I doubt whether the centimeter-thick layer of fat on top of it belongs). Before ordering the main courses, we mentioned, as requested, that we had a gourmet block. The waitress's eye roll spoke volumes. So it wasn't surprising that we didn't get the obligatory herb plate (an appetizer that Persians always serve in advance). Price-performance: The food itself wasn't worth the expensive price!!! Please rate for yourself what we got for €24:: Quantity: Three(!) small 60 gram pieces of lamb chops, at best 5 tablespoons of rice, 1 small pepper, 1/8 lemon and some onions. Quality: The meat was (almost certainly) frozen and thawed. The chops had more fat than meat on the bone and actually weighed 56 grams (I had half of the food packed and weighed them at home). The pepper was “warmed” and not grilled at all! The obligatory butter for the rice was completely missing. When asked, they said there was no more butter, but they had already put butter on the rice in the kitchen. The statement, of course, raised further questions. Needless to say, the designated cola on the menu was not a “real” one, but a no-name product from the 1.5 liter bottle from the supermarket. Another word about the ambience: Some kitschy pictures and decorative elements are simply carelessly and carelessly attached. A magnificently failed attempt to appear “oriental”. The few dirty carpets on the floor of the restaurant don't change that. Conclusion: Not worth a visit. Personal afterword: It makes me very sad that people who ultimately want to present the (food) culture of their home country to us, create “something” without hesitation. It may be an honor for them to try to stand on their own two feet. However, well thought out and poorly done is still just bad - unfortunately!

We had dinner there with 6 friends. The food was great and the service was very friendly. We felt very comfortable. The process with the Schlemmerblock was very uncomplicated. It wasn't the last time we were there.

We were really looking forward to our visit to the Kababsara restaurant and drove there from Wiesbaden to try the food. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing: No availability: Although we came without a reservation, we were hoping to find a place. However, we were told that there were no more places available. The restaurant was very small and we didn't get the impression that it was crowded. Unfriendly service: The employee was not particularly friendly and made no attempt to offer us an alternative or a suggested solution. High Prices: The prices on the menu were very high, which doesn't seem justified given the general experience. We are simply disappointed. I wouldn't recommend anyone.

We are big fans of Persian cuisine and were really looking forward to the evening. The food was okay, but unfortunately all we will remember is that the waitress/boss(?) was extremely rude and very rude to us. For this reason this was our last visit. Attention Schlemmerblock users, you are being ripped off here. The gourmet block is only valid for Persian dishes. The pizzas offered there are not charged. Drinks are totally overpriced. If I have a wine spritzer on the menu in Rheinhessen for 8.50 euros, then somehow that doesn't fit. A Pizza Tonno for 17 euros is also totally overpriced. But the highlight is the service in this restaurant. Right from the start there were discussions about the gourmet blocks. In the end, the wait staff was completely overwhelmed and made errors in billing. But the guest is to blame because the receipt was not checked. Hospitality is a foreign word in this restaurant. And instead of solving problems, guests are thrown out of the restaurant, threatened with the public order office and banned from the premises. One thing is clear...even without a house ban...we'll never come back!

Went there yesterday and when I asked if the meat was halal, the waitress was very rude. And replied with “you’re in the wrong store”. Then they left too. Politeness and a nice tone are probably asking too much.

I write in Farsi, because I don't want non-Iranians to understand! Positive points: Haft Sin table is very beautiful. Beautiful Iranian tablecloths. (Negative points: food list (menu German and English only Foreign and not Iranian music. Unfortunately, the lady who welcomes the guests uses German terms more often. The muscle was stiff. It was not the muscle sauce, but the tomato sauce, which did not taste any muscle. The batter was very salty. When we politely told the honorable lady that it was salty, the lady's reaction was harsh and her answer was: We have been serving this food since eleven o'clock and no one objected. For this reason, I did not say anything about the hardness of the muscle meat. Maybe our luck was like this that day! I personally do not recommend this place to any Iranian. The only Iranian point in this restaurant was the very beautiful Haft Sin table.

I just wonder how you got permission to feed people. My friend said that I won't enjoy your food, but unfortunately, I came and tested it myself and I didn't have a good experience at all. The rice was left over from days ago and the pounded kebab was really raw. It is not the right thing to do

Yesterday we reserved a table for two people. The lady who welcomed us was rude and inconvenient. We were 14 minutes late as we had traveled a very long distance. She informed us that the table was already taken. When my friend politely asked if she could use the toilet, the lady said no. We will never come here again and will discourage everyone we know from visiting this restaurant. Disgraceful…

We were there with a group of 14 people. And even this large group received excellent service. A great restaurant with really good, delicious food. The owner's service was really excellent and very accommodating. With advice and explanation of the dishes. The ambience is also very nice. From the usa we spent 2 weeks vacation in germany ,3 times went to this restaurant with my girlfriend and my dad.waitress lady was so great and spoke fluently in the English and German language .100% recommend this persian restaurant to anyone who lives in mainz and budenheim. The food was so delicious . atmosphere was so calm,romantic and relaxed, and very clean.wanna say special thanks to Aida for her hard work to keep all customers happy .

Essen ist sehr lecker. Sehr freundliche und respektvolle Umgang mit Kunden. Nur die Getränke sind überteuert. Z.B. 0,4 Cola 4.50 Euro, Doogh(persisches Getränk) 4.80 Euro oder ein schwarzen Tee 0.2 Liter 3.50 €. Ansonsten alles okay. Sehr emfehlungswert.

Gutes Essen und freundliche Leute

Wir waren ohne Reservierung spontan im Restaurant und bekamen glücklicherweise einen Platz. Das Essen war hervorragend und der Service sehr, sehr freundlich. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder zum Essen kommen.

Alles sehr individuell und gut abgeschmeckt, vorbereitet und serviert. Sehr freundlich. Sehr leckere Getränke individuell zubereitet mit Frischegewürzen. Viele Speisen sind ohne Weizen und Getreide hergestellt. Viel vegetarisch.

Sehr leckeres Persisches Essen in Mainz Finthen. Guter und aufmerksamer Service. Einziger Kritikpunkt : Die Weinpreise, ab 7.00 € 0.2L sind doch, gerade in unserer Region, ein wenig überzogen aber man muss ja keinen trinken. Trotzdem volle Punktzahl. Ein hidden Champion in Mainz. Das Essen ist authentisch. Bestellt einen Tee, aber bitte nicht wundern, dass es länger dauert. Der wird frisch aufgebrüht und mit Gewürzen versehen. Die Besitzerin ist sehr freundlich und erklärt jedes Gericht. Die Nachspeise, die ich wollte war aus, da hat sie schnell was ähnliches aus Datteln gezaubert.

Ich war hier und habe zum 1. mal in meinem Leben, persisch gegessen. Das Essen und die Bedienung waren top. Das Restaurant hat sich die 5. Sterne mehr als verdient.

Wir waren zum wiederholtem Male sehr zufrieden und kommen auch zukünftig sehr gerne wieder, weil es lecker schmeckt und die Bedienung ausgesprochen freundlich und höflich ist.

Sehr authentisches Essen. Leckerer Reis mit Berberitzen. Tolle Saucen zum Fleisch. Wir waren nicht das letzte mal hier. Die Chefin ist eine tolle Bedienung. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Wunderbares Essen höchster Qualität, waren das erste mal hier und kommen definitiv wieder. Die Bedienung also die Chefin ist sehr nett und aufmerksam.

Besuch letztes WE mit drei Familien Positiv: Das Essen (selten so gut in einem persischen Restaurant gegessen) Negativ: Am Eingang wird darauf hingewiesen, dass das Restaurant nur mit sauberen Schuhen zu betreten ist! (Stellt sich die Frage, ob man bei Regen oder Schnee ein 2. Paar Schuhe mitnehmen muss 🤔) Ungemütliche Atmosphäre, kühl in dem Raum wo wir saßen. Getränkeaufnahme nach einer 1/2 Stunde! Getränkte total überteuert. Glas Wein 7.50€ (sollte 0,2 sein, war es aber nicht) Eiswürfel auf Nachfrage nicht möglich. Kalte Spezi nach ca 1 Stunde aus, es gab nur noch warme. Dugh (persisches Joghurtgetränk) wurde uns von einem jungen Mann serviert der fragte wer den „Ayran“ bestellt hätte 🤦‍♀️ Brot, Schafskäse, Kräuter und Zwiebeln kennen wir als kostenlose Vorspeise, hier musste es bezahlt werden. Teller wurden über die anderen hinweg über den Tisch gereicht (nicht sehr professionell). Besitzerin hat sich später bei meinen Freunden über mich beschwert (die noch etwas länger waren) ich hätte sie so unter Druck gesetzt und das würde so nicht gehen!! Geht in meinen Augen gar nicht, hätte Sie mir persönlich sagen können und nicht bei meinen Freunden über mich herziehen müssen. Auch das in meinen Augen sehr unprofessionell! (haben dort so nebenbei fast 150€ gelassen). Und das ganze nur, weil ich es gewagt hatte, vor dem Essen höflichst nachzufragen, ob Sie denkt, dass wir es bis zu einer gewissen Uhrzeit mit dem Essen schaffen werden, da wir noch Karten für ein weiteres Event hatten. Schon da bekam ich eine patzige Antwort und sie hätte soviel zu tun ( im Lokal waren zu der Zeit 2 weitere Tische besetzt)! Höflichkeit kenne ich anders! Fazit! Essen top. Rest absolut flop!

Das Essen war super! Wir mussten aber lange warten bis wir bedient wurden, nach 30 min hatte noch nicht mal jemand gefragt, ob wir was trinken wollen. Die Getränke waren teuer, nicht richtig kalt. Eiswürfel gab es auf Nachfrage nicht. Die Einrichtung ist zusammengewürfelt und altmodisch.

Köstliches Essen, interessant gewürzt und originell. Preislich etwas überteuert, die Getränke meines Erachtens MASSIV überteuert. Schade! Wir würden gerne öfter kommen, aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sollte etwas besser werden!

Ich besuche seit Eröffnung dieses Restaurant. Sowohl das Essen als auch die Bedienung repräsentieren die traditionelle persische Küche und Gastfreundschaft des Landes. Ich fühle mich hier wohl und verlasse das Restaurant jedes Mal mit einem Lächeln. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Sehr leckeres Essen, üppige Portionen, gemütliches Ambiente und sehr freundliches Personal.

Es ist immer wieder ein kulinarisches und kulturelles Fest hierher zu gehen. Hier gibt es echte traditionelle Küche. Das Essen ist traditional und mit viel Liebe zubereitet und schmeckt genauso oder besser, als das persische Essen meiner Kindheit. Die Inhaberin ist außerordentlich aufmerksam und kümmert sich sehr gut um ihre Gäste. Wenn es passt, bleibt sie auch Mal für eine kurze Erklärung oder einfach ein kleines Schwätzchen am Tisch, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Die Atmosphäre ist authentisch und das Restaurant familiär eingerichtet, also wie ein persisches Wohnzimmer. Ich komme gerne mit meinen Freunden wieder.

Wir haben das Restaurant in unserem Schlemmerblock entdeckt und ausprobiert. Das Essen war total lecker, die Kellnerin sehr sehr nett. Der Service war einfach super. Wir werden definitiv nochmal kommen :)

Wir hatten jeweils 2 Fleischspieße mit Reis und Tomate und am Essen war gar nichts auszusetzen. Für meinen Geschmack etwas zu deutsch und etwas zu wenig persisch. Die dazu gereichten 3 persischen Gewürze waren Essiggewürz (definitiv sehr persisch), zwei Zitronenscheiben und zwei Stückchen Gemüsezwiebel. Ein eher einfaches aber leckeres Gericht und mit 17,50 € eines der günstigsten. Wir haben eine Cola getrunken, weil wir eine Weinschorle 0,4L für 8,50 € und ein Glas Wein für 7,50 € nicht bezahlen wollten. Der Service ist super freundlich, schnell und man fühlt sich als Gast sehr willkommen.

Unfreundlich, bei 15 Grad keine Sitzmöglichkeit drinnen angeboten.. mein Tip: die Besitzerin/Kellnerin sollte ihr Temperament unter Kontrolle bekommen. Das Essen war jedoch lecker.

In den meisten persischen Restaurants gibt es als Zusatz zum Fleisch, immer frische Kräuter und ein bisschen Brot. In diesem Restaurant muss man dafür bezahlen. Sehr ungewöhnlich. Die zwei Sterne gibt es nur, weil das Essen an sich nicht so schlecht war, allerdings kleine Portionen für einen saftigen Preis.Kellnerin und gleichzeitig Besitzerin behandelte uns schlecht und war sehr arrogant.
