We stumbled upon Barena by chance after a handball game at the Quarterback Arena, as it was right next to our hotel. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The only downside is that it gets cold and drafty as soon as the door opens. I recommend a curtain for the winter months.

We ate at this restaurant on October 17th. The food was good and we were actually having a nice evening until something strange happened. As we were leaving, one of the men working there insisted on giving us a ride to the train station. We politely declined, but he persisted and followed us for a while to get my number. Honestly, we found it rather strange and even a little funny at first, but in retrospect, it was simply unprofessional and inappropriate to do something like that to guests. I really hope this doesn't happen to anyone else here. I was with my girlfriend, but for a woman traveling alone, it would certainly be a very unpleasant and frightening experience, especially at 10 p.m. It's a shame, because the restaurant itself actually made a good impression.

We expected a bit more. The lamb was very tender and delicious, but otherwise, it lacked some spice, and the service took a long time, so we went to the counter to pay. Cash only. Overall, I would go back, but I've had much better Persian food.

We ordered several dishes and they were all really good. Chicken, Kobideh, Chenjeh, Berg Fresh, soft, saffron-flavored meat with good rice.

It was our first Persian! The food was amazing...the chicken, the rice...so delicious! I also tried a Persian drink for the first time, but it wasn't really my thing! And then they were kind enough to offer me a free replacement for it. Totally great, nice service! 😄It was a little chilly in one corner or another, but there were blankets ready! 😃

Unfortunately not good. There is another Persian restaurant in the north of Leipzig which is much more tasty. This one is just not worth it and careful only cash.

The starters, the heavenly Kashk-e Bademjan, were a great start. For the main course we had the delicate kabab and the aromatic saffron rice creation - both an absolute highlight. The portions were generous and the quality of the ingredients was noticeable.

We were there spontaneously and were lucky to get a spot. Service was very nice and the food was very tasty. Highly recommended. We had the chicken skewer and minced lamb skewer, as well as Ayran to drink.

Walking into the Barena restaurant, I and my colleague were greeted with friendliness and brought to our table. The restaurant was not busy, which is surprising considering the fantastic food and outstanding service! If you visit here, make sure you try the starter, which is an aubergine and egg dip, accompanied with bread and incredibly satisfying and tasty. Our main courses (both typical meat kebabs) were succulent and served with Persian Safran rice and a small salad. The only thing I would like to have had as well would be some proper Iranian bread, but perhaps when I visit in the future, there will be a bread oven installed to provide this staple of Persian cuisine. The service was amazing; the food was incredible; I’m already looking forwards to my next visit!

A pleasant surprise!! A Persian restaurant with a variety of Persian Kebabs. We tried Kebab Barg and chicken soltani and we got kashke bademjan as a starter. The starter was delicious but too oily for our taste. The main dishes were delicious!! They also serve Ayran, which is not on the menu. Quick and friendly service. Give it a try!

You should try Kobideh there😉 defiantly you will love it! I wish they serve food for lunch too but they only serve food for dinner.

A very good Persian restaurant offering a variety of Persian kebabs. I tried Kabab Barg and the Doogh drink and they tasted perfect just like in Iran.

So far the best iranian restaurant I have seen. The quality of the food is very good and the taste doesn't differ at all from what I you eat in Iran which is not something you find often here in Germany. I also find the prices very fair compared to other iranian restaurants.

Tolles Restaurant mit großen Portionen, moderaten Getränkepreisen und freundlicher Bedienung. Der einzige Abstrich beim Service ist die fehlende bargeldlose Zahlungsmöglichkeit. Ansonsten absolut empfehlenswert.

The quality of food and the customer care is amazing here. The prices are very good and I definitely suggest it to someone who wants to try Iranian/Persian food. The menu is a bit limited but I guess they will expand it in the future. They have a good collection of kebabs and appetizers.
