Peperoni Ankum in Ankum

I ordered two different schnitzel dishes. I picked them up after 45 minutes. At home, I realized the fries and salad were missing. The two sauces taste the same, even though they were supposed to be completely different. Very annoying. This has never happened before at the Ankumer Straße location.

A truly great bistro/restaurant and much more than just a "kebab shop." The food is delicious and well-prepared. It's really busy here on weekends, so be sure to reserve a table or call to order takeout. Nevertheless, the team is incredibly friendly and super organized.

I ordered a Dutch roll over the phone and went to pick it up after the agreed-upon 25 minutes. I waited another 20 minutes at the counter, but the food wasn't ready. I ended up canceling the order. It's a shame, so I'll probably avoid ordering from there in the future.

After moving to Onkel Otto, we would have expected a bit more of a restaurant feel. For us, that means, for example, the wine is poured instead of the bottle being placed on the table. The food was delicious, and the wait was perfectly acceptable. However, we waited longer for drinks than for the food. This wasn't due to the number of staff. Unfortunately, there was no dessert, but it was planned. The opening date was announced beforehand, though. For now, unfortunately, it remains a simple pizzeria for us, but the prices are like a restaurant, which is a shame... But it could still improve... we would be happy and will try it out.

While passing through, we were extremely hungry and stopped spontaneously. Since it was still early, we got a table right away, even without a reservation. We ordered the antipasti pizza and the doner kebab plate with Metaxa sauce. Both were absolutely delicious. The pizza was one of the best I've ever eaten. The service was absolutely top-notch, and the atmosphere was chilled and very cozy. It's a shame we were just passing through; I highly recommend this place.

It's very difficult to rate this restaurant: 1. On my first visit, I ordered a pepperoni pizza, which could have tasted good overall if it weren't so spicy. Okay, slightly out of stock. Perhaps a recommendation for spicy food lovers. 2. On a subsequent visit, I ordered a Hawaiian pizza. How am I supposed to rate a pizza that tastes primarily of the cheese topping and makes the ham and pineapple taste like nothing? I also wonder what kind of cheese it might be. The overall flavor of the pizza was bland. No one asked how the food was. The restaurant gives a cozy impression. Whatever, the search continues. Addendum from September 3, 2025: The kitchen succeeded very well with the penne arrabiata. Since I've ordered this dish several times and the service was very friendly, I'm adjusting my review from 2 to 4 stars.

Lisa was a wonderful server and she took very good care of us. Be careful of the portions as they are huge. I had the pork schnitzel and three of us could have split it. It was absolutely amazing and I wish I could have eaten the whole thing! This is a must try!

We spontaneously stopped by for lunch. Everything (sheep's cheese rolls, baked sheep's cheese, and a special salad) was delicious. The value for money was also excellent. Very friendly service. Fast and good :-)

This isn't a restaurant; it's an upscale snack bar, a kebab shop. Nothing more. The waitresses were completely overwhelmed. Drinks didn't arrive until 20 minutes after ordering. The food arrived in batches for us (two people), and it took a total of 8 minutes for everything to arrive. Between our first plate and the last, two neighboring tables were served. Overall, chaotic and disorganized. A restaurant should have delicious, fresh produce, but here there's only a colorful assortment of ready-made products. The cheese sauce didn't taste of cheese, but it did have a good peppery taste. Fortunately, the pepper sauce doesn't taste of cheese. Never again will my path lead me there. That was my first and last visit. Addendum after the owner's reaction: So the Gorgonzola sauce on schnitzel isn't cheese sauce??? What is Gorgonzola if it's not cheese? If you cannot understand my statements then it only confirms the impression of chaotic organization

🌟🌟🌟🌟☆ Delicious food, small mistake with the order The two of us ate at Peperoni in Ankum this evening. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service friendly. We both had the same dish, but with individual changes: one without onions, the other without mushrooms and peppers. Unfortunately, the changes were mixed up – the wrong ingredients were removed from both plates, but others were added. That was a shame, but we didn't have time to return the food. They did offer to remake it – a definite plus for their service! Despite this small mistake, everything else was really top-notch: the taste, the ambiance, and the friendliness of the staff. We're happy to give it 4 stars and would definitely come back!

Saturday evenings are a good time to reserve a table. At full capacity, it might take a little longer. But that also speaks volumes about the restaurant. The food can only be good! The XL schnitzel is particularly recommended. Freshly prepared and generously topped. The portion is almost impossible to finish. You even get a raki as a digestive. Due to the busyness, the noise level is also high. The service staff are very busy and do their best.

I was just picking up food. My schnitzel was cold and very, very hard. The sauce tasted of nothing. The doner kebab plate was cold and the tzatziki was sour. The fries were just like math books. Soft, disgusting, and sticky. So I would recommend firing all the kids there and bringing in more experienced people. Well, peper was definitely peper back then, but it's really not the same today. I'm very, very disappointed, especially given the price and then something like that? So I won't be eating or ordering from there again. It hasn't happened the first time.

I celebrated my birthday there yesterday. The pizza didn't work at all. Mushrooms from a jar instead of fresh ones? Dough not cooked through. Another dish again with whole cans of mushrooms and tasteless chicken meat drowned in cream. The guest had to throw up about 30 minutes later. Price-performance is top, pizza and schnitzels are very tasty, and the schnitzels are huge. It's a bit noisy when it's full and the cocktails aren't what you'd expect, but it's totally worth it for the food and the staff is very nice and accommodating.

It used to be better... there was enough of everything on the pizza in normal proportions and evenly distributed, today I asked for a minimum of onions, they poured a whole mountain and in one place, there was very little meat... 22 € for a “family” poorly made pizza.

I visited the Peperoni restaurant after a 53 km journey and it was absolutely worth it. The scampi was a highlight – perfectly prepared and simply amazing in taste. The prices are also very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. I particularly liked the woody ambience and gives the restaurant a charming character. Overall, I highly recommend pepperoni; it has earned a place in my personal top 4 restaurants. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

All in all, the food was good and the service could be improved.

We were actually always very satisfied, but today the staff showed a different side. Our glasses were probably empty for more than half an hour and no one came to the table to take another order. Even any eye contact was ignored and our request for an order was not heard or perhaps ignored. (We were really thirsty) After we were finally able to speak to an employee, we pointed out to her directly that our glasses had been empty for a long time and we also tried to get in touch, so we were allowed to listen and we should just speak to the staff... (difficult if you... is not taken into account) She then said she would get a piece of paper and a pen. Where she got it, she apparently told her colleague straight away that we had "complained", who looked at our table and walked past us shaking her head. Very unprofessional. After all, the customer is king. Of course we didn't order anything else. They probably didn't want to make any money. Keep your eyes open when choosing a job.
