Peking Garden in Dortmund

I go there very often with my friends to eat. There is a lot of choice. I think there is something for everyone, but everyone has to decide for themselves. We are very satisfied. The service is friendly and very attentive and the prices are okay, you can really fill your stomach but as I said.......!!! Try it yourself.

The buffet offers excellent value for money. A large selection and is always promptly refilled. The staff constantly makes the rounds so drinks can be ordered immediately, and used plates are cleared away immediately. Special requests (extra serving dishes, etc.) are also handled and fulfilled with graciousness.

Nice restaurant, wide selection of dishes. Lovely ambiance, especially because of the koi in the aquarium. Unfortunately, it's quite crowded.

I went there with my patient, who is in a wheelchair and severely disabled. The ramp provided is not wheelchair accessible. We were treated very badly and even shouted at. "We're unlucky that we can't get in like this because other wheelchair users get in like this," the employee said. Very rude behavior and no understanding for people in wheelchairs.

We went to Peking Garden with the whole family (5 people). We took advantage of the lunch buffet and were very satisfied with the selection and taste. For the little ones (and adults too, of course), they also offered fries, ice cream, etc. The price and the staff were unbeatable. The atmosphere is pleasant. We'll be back ❤️

I've been going to the lunch buffet every now and then for years. The value for money is top-notch. Starter soup, salad bar, ice cream, and fruit for dessert. They have the same (limited) selection as before the coronavirus pandemic. Not all Chinese buffets have managed that. Update mid-2024: The inexpensive lunch buffet plus a glass of water now costs €12.40. Ordering a drink is very, very important... There's no beef. Duck meat is mostly in the form of scraps of meat pulled from the bones of the roast duck, and even these are only replenished very hesitantly. Everything else, including chicken and pork variations, is always promptly replenished. Overall, I'm upgrading the value for money from "good" to "excellent" and giving it 5 stars again. Given the skyrocketing prices, especially in the food sector, one can only admire the service.

Always very accommodating and polite, with a personal touch, and an attractive animal show in the simple fountain/pool. Less for home cooking or dolce vita, more for Asian and rice enthusiasts...

Unfortunately, we ate there on Sunday, and out of 10 people, 3 had diarrhea and stomach cramps, and 2 had nausea and stomach pain. We often eat Chinese or Mongolian food, but we've never had this. I can't recommend it.

Tasty and lots. If you don't have any problems with fat and oil, you can easily go there. Cutlery was renewed. Tastes good and unbeatably cheap during the week 😉

Tasty food. Two people ate well for 24 euros including drinks! One minus is that none of the staff speaks English, but the lady tried her best to help and explain everything 😁

Food is great, unfortunately the music is too loud

Had dinner there for the first time today. Mongolian, The food was swimming in oil, was very salty, and half of the vegetables evaporated. He was sooo greedy for empty plates and reached across the table. The restaurant is one of many, nothing special. The selection of the Mongolian buffet was really sober.

Lunch buffet was okay and plentiful, the service was friendly.

Today we went to get food and were bitterly disappointed. The spring rolls were horrible. The filling is unreasonable and the dough is still raw inside. You could eat the duck, the sauces (sweet/sour and peanut) weren't up to scratch either and it was definitely the last time we got something there. When we submitted our criticism in person (by phone), we didn't have the feeling that it was valued here. But since it was full there, we hope the buffet is better...

I've eaten there several times, but lately it's just been extremely loud and unpleasant to eat there. There's no room for children, and people standing at the door to get a seat is just not nice anymore. We felt like we were on display in a mass processing line. I won't go there again. And we didn't get a bill either, even though they charged more than we should have.

It was our first time at the lunch buffet and we were completely satisfied. Everything was great – the price-performance ratio was right and the billing was correct. We were also able to conveniently pay by card. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. We'll definitely be back!

For me it's a great value for money

The price-performance ratio at the lunch buffet is top. 9.90 for the buffet, but at least one drink must be ordered. A 300ml cola cost around 2.70. If a plate is not eaten empty, €2 is due. I would fully recommend the lunch buffet.

I've often eaten there with my family and friends, I've never noticed that we didn't get a bill, I've never kept track of it, paid + tip and good. Today I was there alone and the price was clear so that I knew in advance what I had to pay + tip.. The cashier refused me more, I paid without saying a word, of course without an invoice. When I went out I politely asked her how the billing came about, then she got loud and I preferred to just agree with her to avoid a stir... I hope that was an exception.

We've been regular guests there for years and it's always good. Staff friendly and attentive. Buffet is always replenished. The only drawback. Be careful when filling up. The handles of the spoons are often under the heat lamps and are then very hot.

We had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant today. I was eating there with my husband and while I was eating I accidentally knocked over my cola glass. The glass broke, coke spilled across the table and my clothes got dirty. The waiter just gave me a napkin to clean my clothes and we changed tables as the original place was full of glass and coke and wasn't cleaned. After a few minutes the restaurant owner came to us and spoke in an inappropriate tone because we had sat at another table. My husband explained that the glass had fallen over and the original table was unusable as it was still full of coke and broken glass. But the owner showed no understanding and no trace of respect towards us as customers. We were so disappointed with this behavior that we left the restaurant without finishing our meal. It was a very bad experience that I cannot recommend to anyone. 👎👎👎

A Chinese restaurant that you can find everywhere. The service was really attentive and extremely friendly. We were escorted to a free table even without a reservation, even though the restaurant was more than busy. Nobody was annoyed or unfriendly. The buffet was sufficiently varied and always well stocked. We weren't necessarily impressed with the taste, but it wasn't bad either. You're definitely not doing anything wrong, but it's not a highlight from our point of view.

Great for children thanks to the trout fountain inside. Food according to what is on offer is completely fine. Ambience simple but very clean.

The food was delicious. For dessert, canned fruit cocktail. But really bad, the toilets and under the tables. If I had gone to the toilet beforehand, I wouldn't have eaten anything there. You urgently need to renovate your floors and toilets!!!

I have been visiting the restaurant for many years and am still impressed. The selection of dishes is varied and very tasty. The staff is always friendly and always helpful. However, there is only one downside, and that is... the staff could occasionally have an impact on guests who let their small children run around noisily between the tables all the time. If you want to go to your seat with filled plates, it often happens that the little ones unexpectedly jump around in front of you and you run the risk of the hot food slipping off the plate and falling either on the children or other guests. The fact that you are constantly annoyed by the children's screaming is not prevented either. Of course, it would be primarily the responsibility of the parents/accompanying persons to ask the children to calm down, that is clear. But often they don't mind and the staff should then take action. Because the other guests also have the right to be able to chat in peace and enjoy their food. It would be a shame if the Peking Garden, as is now practiced in many other restaurants, from -z. B. 7:00 p.m. - there would be an age restriction.

Not bad, the sushi is not very tasty, the sauces too, the variety of food and choice is not large, I didn’t like the fact that the dishes that needed to be fried were not at all prepared. The children only ate French fries and sweets and they didn’t like other dishes. Otherwise not bad.

Children are apparently also unwelcome here. Of course, small children are magically attracted to the large koi tank. The buffet is small and some of the food is oversalted. An hour before the end of the lunch buffet, food is almost never refilled. We won't be coming back again.

I am with my entire family (8 - 12 people) regularly on Saturdays in this restaurant for the evening buffet. Most recently yesterday evening (06/15/24) However, the service and quality has greatly increased. The staff, especially the male staff that evening, were very annoyed, unfriendly and unprofessional. We waited ages for our drinks. Some of the noodles were very salty and tasted burnt, the fish wasn't quite cooked through and the meat was tough and sometimes inedible. In addition, by constantly asking if anyone else was missing, we were signaled that we had been in the restaurant too long and were unwelcome. When we go to the Chinese buffet, we obviously don't want to be under time pressure and want to have a nice evening with the family. Drinks were ordered in abundance. We were also very shocked at how the staff complained loudly to children and their parents instead of treating this discreetly. We and some other guests that evening will no longer enter this restaurant. I hope that those responsible read this review and discuss it internally so that guest satisfaction increases again.

Not against the staff being very nice and always smiling but overall it has deteriorated a lot Unfortunately!!! I've been eating out in Malta off and on for 18 years and I know exactly what it was like! The leftovers from the day before are processed with a lot of sauce and used again. They don't taste good. Hygiene. Oh my God, that's no longer possible. They have to change as quickly as possible, especially the toilets!!! Prices are ok for what they offer (always the same). In my opinion, they need to think about something, maybe revise everything and offer something tasty!!

A nice little Chinese restaurant with a small selection of fresh food that you can prepare on site. Everything is clean. And the service was good. We were there with 4 people on a Sunday without booking in advance.
