Paulaner´s im Taschenbergpalais in Dresden

The taste is good. The atmosphere is luxurious.

Spontaneous visit. A pleasant, quaint restaurant. Very friendly staff, good cuisine and moderate prices. One adult will be full and it was very tasty. Rostbrätel and cheese dumplings were on our program. Yummy. A Paulaner Helles rounded it off. Thanks and of course also to the kitchen.

Boruvko's dumplings were on butter, which soaked into the dough after a while. The filling was jam. For 28.5 euros, we would have expected it to be tastier. Latte for 4.5, beer 5.4 Euro.

Finally. The world is right again. A long search and now it's found. Roast pork with two different dumplings and sauerkraut. Accompanied by this signature sauce. A poem. The entire restaurant evokes a cozy, comfortable feeling. Great ambiance, friendly and attentive service. Thank you so much for everything. Manu & Fred from Potsdam.🍻

We were here on Saturday evening April 5, 2025 and wanted to end the day with a pleasant dinner. Unfortunately, the food did not correspond in any way to the quality that one would expect in a Paulaner brewery. Our dishes Meatballs with mashed potatoes and Königsberger meatballs. The meatballs had nothing to do with the well-known dish Königsberger Klopse. The dumplings tasted strongly of liver dumplings, there were no capers at all and the sauce was a speck of flour. In the meat planter dish, they also tasted like liver dumplings, so one could assume that a liver dumpling mixture was used for both dishes. The gravy and mashed potatoes both tasted like convenience food. Both meals were not worth the money and the quality was absolutely inadequate.

I'm always very reserved when it comes to commenting on food, as everyone's tastes are different. However, if all family members are unanimous in their opinion that they have rarely had such a bad meal anywhere, there could be something to it: the solyanka was too sweet, the roast pork was too salty, and the sauerbraten had an intrusive sourness that made it almost inedible. And - sorry - it has very little to do with Bavarian cuisine. I've never been served such overcooked sauerkraut in Bavaria. I really hope that foreign tourists don't think this is Bavarian standards.

It's quite nice. The restaurant has a simple and inviting feel. The service is attentive. The menu is typically Bavarian, not too extensive, and the prices are fair. I was still disappointed with the pork knuckle I chose. Crispy, yes, but unfortunately not all the way through. Messer and I had a problem with that. And for a Paulaner, I find the draft beer selection a bit limited. Reservations are recommended during peak hours from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Friday, 9.30 p.m., a lovely evening at the Semperoper is over and now a beer at the Paulaner...that would be nice. Unfortunately we had to hear that the billing had already been done and it was no longer possible to serve us. Opening times, however, until 10 p.m. ....well, zero arrangement to make anything possible. ....that was very disappointing 😞

Vegetarian dishes are unlikely there, but dumplings with sauce and red cabbage are also possible

Great food, great beer you don't need more...

Leider war unser Besuch im Paulaner in Dresden eine Enttäuschung. Das Essen war eher fad und wenig überzeugend. Auch der Service ließ zu wünschen übrig – von den Mitarbeitenden war lediglich eine Person freundlich, während der Rest unfreundlich bis desinteressiert wirkte. Insgesamt fehlte es an Gastfreundschaft und Herzlichkeit, sodass wir uns nicht willkommen gefühlt haben. Schade, was aus diesem Restaurant geworden ist. Wir werden definitiv nicht wiederkommen.

Something more conventional and "serious" than other establishments of this franchise in Germany - specifically in Bavaria - frankly the place is great, not very big, very clean and at reasonable prices.

We were able to move our reservation forward at short notice. The food came quickly and tasted good.

I was really looking forward to my crispy knuckle. Where else can you expect a tasty knuckle than here? A single disappointment. There was nothing crunchy to be seen. Leathery crust, which was therefore not edible. I didn't expect it at the Paulaner in Dresden. Everywhere else it tasted excellent and lived up to its name. You can only avoid it at this point. It's a shame at such a price level. Absolutely no recommendation from me.

Thank you for the friendly hospitality! Without a reservation we received very friendly service on New Year's Eve. Fine food, delicious beer and a perfect ambience round off the great service of the service team. A perfect turn of the year for my wife and me!

Excellent beer and excellent treatment...

Authentic beer house atmosphere is guaranteed at Paulaner's. Good thing we had a reservation. We sat at a table for two near the beautiful counter. With Weissenburg we had knuckle or Saxon sauerbraten. Delicious. Unfortunately, like everything and everywhere, it has become more expensive, but still moderate. Very friendly service, the peace and quiet itself was complete!

The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely. It was a busy evening, so we did need to wait a bit longer than usual on our food, but the quality of the food made that wordt waiting for. I do recommend this restaurant for the dumplings.

Cozy restaurant with very good food... The food was very tasty, everything was freshly prepared... however, the side salad for €6.90 is simply not appropriate and the bottle of water is simply too expensive at €7.90. All in all, still highly recommended, nice service and a very cozy atmosphere, albeit a bit cramped.

I can't believe that there are still places like this in such an important historical and touristic location that do not have a single plate that is friendly to vegetarians and vegans. What a disgrace. The location is great for big groups but in big groups there's is always someone that does not eat meat

Nice welcome after a spontaneous visit. We stopped by this restaurant by chance. There was no table available, but after a drink at the bar, a table for two was immediately made available. Super friendly service, great ambience with delicious food in large quantities. I can simply recommend it. PS: best sauerbraten sauce ever...

We can't judge the food because we just sat at the counter and had something to drink. But everything we saw at least looked great. A great restaurant with a great ambience and very nice, attentive service.

Very good tasting, traditional german food. The service is great, the place is extremely well decorated and moody. The food is absolutely worth the cost, waiting times can vary and it may be full but 10/10 anyways.

The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere inside was very nice. The beer was really delicious. It was my first time trying schnitzel and I liked the fragrant buttery scent. The bathrooms here are also very clean. The women's restroom is marked Damen. Men's restrooms start with H. I am very satisfied.

First night in Dresdner as American tourist and as we explored the old town we passed this restaurant adjacent to fancy hotel and palace. Great atmosphere, great food and very good service- good prices too! Wiener schnitzel and sauerbraten. And a good beer.

Helt fantastisk og rustikt sted. Maden er, når tysk mad er bedst; rustik og stort samt velsmagende. Restauranten ligger lige ved siden af hotellet. Det er en meget hyggelig restaurant med hurtig og venlig betjening. Vi fik Schweinehaxe og Curry Wurst, hvor Schweinehaxen (en halv) var helt forrygende. Noget af det bedste, jeg har smagt. Hertil et godt krus Paulaner øl samt Federweisser, som er den første tapning af årets vin. Man kan kun få det i en kort periode, og det smager fantastisk.

We have been to this place twice during our stay. stay in Dresden. Excellent food, perhaps overly generous portions, very friendly staff (one evening they welcomed us even though the kitchen was about to close).

Had sauerbraten with red cabbage and potato dumplings. Beef was very tender and with sauce - a poem. I enjoyed it very much. I can recommend it

Fantastic restaurant in the heat of the old town. Lovely cosy ambiance with a great bar. Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly and best of all the food was delicious. Really enjoyed our dishes of Pork Knuckle with dumplings and sauerkraut, Roast pork with raisen sauce and dumplings and the desserts were great too. Reasonable cost with 2 mains and 2 desserts plus drinks 81Euro. I'd come back here again if in Dresden.

We arrived at 8.30pm and the waitress who received us immediately made sure to ask if we wanted to drink or eat, because the kitchen would close at 9pm. The place closes at 10pm! It's a shame because the place is nice, the beer is good and one of the few that also has the menu in Italian. Go early if you want to have a leisurely dinner. Mediocre service…(but they had to close) I forgot; good food and abundant Saxon dishes

We were very well received by the restaurant staff. It was the waiter's first day and he still served us very well. I recommend the schnitzel and pork knuckle, as well as the Paulaner beer, which is classic in Germany.

We got both ordered a classical schnitzel with potatoes which is how we prefer our schnitzel. Also, a fresh salad was included. The schnitzel was tasty and tender. The potatoes were great as well and the salad was good. The waiters could have been more service-minded which is the reason that the review did not get a top character for the evening. I will go again.

We sat in the garden with a great palace view. Staff was always looking at the tables, interested if anyone needed anything. Food was super tasty. The only con was the waiting time for food - more than 30 minutes.

Hoo boy I did not expect such a great meal from here! We were looking for something a little away from the Altstadt (and I mean a little -- it's only a few minutes walk, right near the Zwinger), and this place concerned me a little since these brewery-restaurants are typically a little touristy. But with a great view of the Zwinger when you're sitting on the patio on a warm day, the atmosphere is fantastic! I ordered a Schnitzel of course and man oh man. It's a very healthy portion and one of the best-cooked veal schnitzels I've had. You pay a pretty penny, but you definitely get your money's worth! They also have a delicious chicken soup and the salad was highly-rated by my dad. Friendly service, great vibes, and surprisingly delicious dishes. This spot is a must-visit next time I find myself in the Dresden Altstadt!

We had salmon tartare & veal meatballs. Salmon tartare was excellent 5/5, veal meatballs & mashed potatoes were stodgy & heavy. Beer was nice & cold! Waitresses were excellent!

We have been here several times and it has always been good. Good food and friendly service. Additionally, it is very central and right across from the Dresdner Zwinger. In Summertimes you can sit outside and it is advisable to reserve a table as the place is always very full.
