Super cozy restaurant. I've rarely eaten such good entrecôte. They also have a great selection of beers.

My wife and I had dinner here today, November 16th, 2025. We were lucky to get a small table near the entrance since we arrived without a reservation. The owner herself was serving; she was a very nice and attentive woman. I told her that we had our civil wedding ceremony here 33 years ago. The ambiance is truly rustic Bavarian, just as you would imagine a Bavarian inn. All the staff were very, very friendly. My wife had Bavarian-style braised ox biceps with mashed potatoes and red cabbage, and I had the onion roast beef with cheese spaetzle. However, the cheese spaetzle was missing the fried onions and bacon, and was simply topped with cheese. We also had a delicious salad. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. They also have several types of beer. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Paulaner Botschaft to everyone and suggest you dine here and spend a pleasant evening. We went there for my birthday dinner. An authentic Bavarian restaurant, super cozy and you immediately feel at home. The food was delicious and we all loved it. The staff were great and very friendly. We will definitely come back.

As Munich residents, we didn't have high expectations for the Paulaner Botschaft in Bochum. But we were very pleasantly surprised. The pork knuckle was excellent. And the other dishes were also very tasty. Overall, everyone was satisfied and full. And the value for money was outstanding.

We ordered kale, but unfortunately we had to send it back. The kale tasted sweet, quite strange. The sausage and smoked pork loin were delicious. Suitable for people with celiac disease. With my condition, I was finally able to eat schnitzel out again, and it was so delicious. Huge portion, but amazing. The staff is so friendly and in a good mood. They also offer gluten-free options. Overall, I can recommend it and will definitely go back.

Amazing place for family dinner!

A centrally located, very authentically decorated, and charming restaurant. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our table. The food and drink selection was excellent, and the food arrived very quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It's worth noting that while Bavarian cuisine is very meat-heavy, there is still a smaller but diverse selection of dishes available. I had the Brauhaus goulash with beef, and my boyfriend had the vegan roast with apple and onion sauce. We've tried many meat substitutes before, but we'd never seen a roast on the menu. That was a very pleasant surprise.

The food is truly gluten-free and tastes delicious. The service is extremely friendly and helpful in choosing dishes. People with celiac disease or lactose intolerance have a very wide selection here. Vegetarians and vegans also have a great selection. Many thanks to the team and the kitchen!

We always love coming here, especially when we have guests from abroad. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is always delicious, and the service is friendly and attentive. Our little daughter always gets popcorn for dessert, which she absolutely loves! ❤️

A typically Bavarian-style restaurant. We went specifically for Kaiserschmarrn and were given a bit of a strange look when we ordered it, especially when we didn't order a beer. The Kaiserschmarrn was so-so. Unfortunately, it still had a strong taste of some kind of fruit brandy in some places.

It was quite loud. The food was good and reasonably priced. The waitress was apparently new and didn't know the difference between a Pilsner and a Munich Hell. I ordered a Heller and got a Pilsner – in a restaurant serving Bavarian specialties.

The food was truly excellent. Unfortunately, I have to complain about something. Since the portions were really large, we wanted to have the leftovers wrapped up. Unfortunately, they just carelessly wrapped the meat in some aluminum foil. The uneaten side dishes weren't included.

After a great day, we went to eat at the Paulaner Botschaft. We reserved a table for seven people in advance, which was absolutely necessary. We received a very warm and friendly welcome and were shown to our table. After our order, everyone had requests for changes, all of which were taken into account, and we quickly received delicious, freshly prepared food. We were completely satisfied and would gladly come back. 😀

We ate at your restaurant yesterday with our ski and gaming group from Dortmund. It's a good thing we had a reservation. The food was excellent, and the staff was very friendly and cheerful. Authentic, honest, Bavarian cuisine. Great ambiance and super friendly service. We've been there twice within two weeks, and both times it was wonderful. We'll even be celebrating a birthday there in November. Highly recommended!

The interior is rustic and cozy, with lots of wood and Bavarian decor creating a fitting atmosphere. The service was friendly, but unfortunately quite slow – the wait for the menu alone took over 20 minutes, and the food also arrived late. The portions were generous and typically Bavarian, and the flavors were solid and good.

The interior was nicely decorated, but that was about it. The service was nice, but also incredibly slow. I found the food incredibly bad. As a Munich native, I had no idea that supposedly Bavarian food was so bad here. The schnitzel tasted like a convenience product to me, definitely with a thin, weak coating, and the meat was uniform with hardly any flavor of its own. In my opinion, the pork could have been turkey, in terms of texture and taste (completely white instead of gray, as you would expect from homemade pork without additives). I suspect it was processed meat. The "Bavarian" potato salad had mayo. Mayo doesn't belong in a Bavarian potato salad... and a huge amount of onions on a schnitzel really has nothing to do with Bavarian food.

Whenever I'm in Bochum, I eat there. The service and the food deserve far more than 5 stars. Everything is simply perfect, and there's nothing, absolutely nothing, to criticize. The staff are super friendly and humorous. You feel like you're visiting friends. The food on the menu is incredibly delicious and cooked to perfection...and at such affordable prices, too. What's also great is the specials menu, which is always available. The beer is also excellent. All in all...if you don't go there, it's your own fault, because you're missing out. We were brought to our table. A few minutes later, the drinks menu arrived. After we got our drinks, we waited for the menu. After 30 minutes, I went to the bar and asked a bartender how things were going in the place, because we had already been waiting for a menu for 40 minutes. Then a very rude woman came over to us with menus (she was probably a shift manager) and told us that we were guests without reservations and had to wait until the guests on her list were complete, and that we would have to wait another 45 minutes. We weren't told beforehand that we would have to wait over an hour for the menus!! The place wasn't full yet because the guests with reservations hadn't arrived yet... We paid for our drinks and left!

There are many restaurants that offer vegetarian/vegan dishes just to have something to eat in case someone asks, but that's NOT the case here. Highly recommended for people who don't eat meat but still don't want to just eat a baked potato!

This "vegan knuckle" is hard to beat. Everything harmonizes perfectly, from the sauerkraut to the gravy, including the celery "bones." The temperature is just right. It takes home-cooked cooking to a whole new level.

I can't recommend this visit. We were served a beer, but then we weren't served again. The lady who was supposed to be serving us skillfully ignored us. I assume this was intentional; the restaurant was practically empty. There are better restaurants nearby.

We ate here through friends who live in Bochum. Upon entering, it was immediately cozy and we felt at home. We had garlic soup and then a main course. The soup was very spicy, not everyone's cup of tea, but we found it delicious, as was the other food. We'd be happy to come back! I also want to mention that I forgot my glasses. I called, and the very friendly lady on the phone told me she would take care of them. I gave her my address, and a few days later, they were in my mailbox. The food was delicious. The beer garden was also great, and although the waitresses were very busy, they were still relaxed and funny.

Ordered a sirloin steak and a schnitzel. The quality was excellent, especially the steak. The service was very friendly. I recommend anyone in Bochum to visit and eat there.

For my main course, I had the rump steak with pepper sauce. It was truly delicious. Unfortunately, we had to wait quite a while, both to order and then for the food. However, it was quite busy that evening. So if you allow a little more time, you can enjoy truly delicious food here. The service was also very friendly.

I've eaten at Paulaner several times, and I highly recommend the restaurant! The service is super friendly, very attentive, and simply excellent. But above all, the food at Paulaner is simply outstanding! On Saturday, I had a chicken schnitzel with fried potatoes and a mushroom cream sauce, along with a coleslaw salad – it tasted fantastic; the meat was super tender, the fried potatoes were perfectly seasoned, and the sauce was simply delicious. The coleslaw salad was also great. I'll definitely be back, and not just once.

The ambiance is truly beautiful and appealing, it's well located, and you're right in the heart of Bochum. Unfortunately, our visit yesterday was disappointing. The waitress, who turned out to be the former manager, was unfriendly and not very service-oriented. Her behavior was particularly irritating – condescending and rude to us as guests. Unfortunately, this didn't make us feel welcome or comfortable at all. Based on this experience, I can't recommend the restaurant. We also wanted to say that the other waiter on site was very courteous and friendly.

We tried the beer garden in front of the embassy for the first time. Despite the one-way street that runs between the restaurant and the outdoor area, it was a cozy spot. The lunch menu was excellent, as always! Despite the location, they also served small 0.2l FIEGE Pils. The service was very friendly and quick. We look forward to our next visit.
