As always, everything tasted delicious. The service was excellent in every respect: attentive, friendly, and uncomplicated. The ambiance, as always, was very nice, although it has recently been improved, even though it was already very pleasant before. And despite the large number of guests, the volume of conversation was noticeably quieter than before. So, everything was absolutely perfect, and we'll be back again and again!

A proper Spanist tapas bar. A lot of space, a huge terrace in the bag. Modern design, marine blue, garden in the bag. Dogs and kids friendly, good for the groups. Parking can be an issue - they are in the center and have no own parking, plan ahead. The food is typical of tapas, small plates to try. There are some other dishes, but ultimately it is tapas. We tried a bunch of things - in the summ, the taste was ok, nothing mind blowing. The products were fresh, well prepared, but just average in taste. The disappointment was Patatas Bravas - somewhat dried completely unseasoned with a ketchuplike salsa on the side. The spinach croquettes - deep fried and lacking taste , but the mango mayo saves it. The best things we tried - a grilled pulpo - two nicely grilled tenticles with ruccola for under 15 euro, and domthing with chorizo - this one has s definite taste, also padron peppers were ok. The price range from 6-7 (for veggie tapas) to 12-14 (for protein ones) wont break the bank. It is a solid nice place, beautiful to meet up or get some drinks and bites in the evening, the ambience is there, the personnel is super nice and attentive, efficient and fast, the prices are democratic, my only issue is a lack of taste in otherwise solid quality food, but please consider that I am a snob. Enjoy your evening there.

It's very loud. Soundproofing cloths, for example, would reduce the noise.

Hey Unfortunately, I had to change my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars. The service this time was truly disappointing: orders were forgotten, and the table was missing cutlery, as well as salt and pepper. The food was also disappointing. The fish platter for €20.50 is, in my opinion, a disgrace: 2 calamari rings, a small bowl of olives, some sauce, a few potato wedges, and a few pieces of octopus. Two prawns were also served – but without any towels to clean their hands afterward. In the middle was a small salad, with even the stalks included. Absolutely disappointing for this price. The other dishes were also weak: 4 prawns in oil for €9.50 is still far too expensive, the pimentos for €8.70 were neither prepared with coarse salt nor cooked properly, and the portion of sweet potato fries was tiny and unsalted – and that for €7.20. There were four of us, and unfortunately, no one at the table was truly satisfied. Yes, tapas are small dishes – but for these prices, at least there should be something decent on each plate. So, although the table was full, there was still far too little for the price. It's a shame – it used to be really nice there, even after the reopening. But this time it was very disappointing overall. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. "The value for money is not right at all: poor service and small, tasteless, overpriced dishes."

We ate there again on the evening of August 16, 2025. The quality of the food was very good, as always. The prices have been raised, and we had the impression that the portions had become smaller. Too bad, K. Wieshoff and O. Altenrath.

Unfortunately, I have to revise my positive review from last time (11 months ago)... we were at Landau again, and the food was seriously disappointing. The pimentos had no salt at all, which we unfortunately couldn't order because we weren't served very well. The meatballs in tomato sauce also had no salt or pepper. I won't even get started on the fish platter. It's a real shame...

I visited "Das Landau" for the first time yesterday and was absolutely thrilled! I really couldn't fault it: The bread was incredibly delicious, the fish fresh and perfectly prepared, and the sauces were outstanding – especially the aioli, which I love. It was simply an all-around successful evening. We arrived at 6 p.m. and were able to snag a table outside. However, the place filled up very quickly and was later completely full inside as well – so my tip: definitely make a reservation (although you can only sit inside). 😎

I love this restaurant. Whether it's just the two of us or a group, it's always worth a visit. In the summer, you can sit in the beer garden. In the winter, it's very cozy inside. The tapas are delicious, as are the drinks.

The fish and meat dishes are simply divine – at least that's what my family always says. As a vegetarian, I can only comment on the vegetarian/vegan dishes 😄 I can especially recommend the gratinated goat cheese with thyme and honey, as well as the baked feta cheese on beetroot carpaccio with honey and fig dressing. And the potatoes? They sound totally boring, but they're the best potatoes I've ever eaten. Plus, the great ambiance and excellent service.

We really enjoy eating at Landau. I recommend reserving a table in advance, as it gets very busy on weekends and in good weather. Dogs are welcome in the restaurant, and so far, we've never been asked if we could leave a bowl of water out. Kudos to the kitchen and the truly friendly service.

Hello, This is my fourth time at Landau Essen. The first time, about half a year ago, the food was excellent (I always ordered the vegan platter), as was the service and ambiance. The second time, it was the same. The third time, something went wrong with the order. There were three of us, and one of us ordered a couscous salad with fish. It turned out the fish was the wrong one, but it was swapped without any problems. However, the actual fish wasn't particularly good. It can happen, no problem. Last time, unfortunately, a lot went wrong. At first, we (five people) weren't really noticed, and we had to wait a long time for our first drink order. This was probably an oversight, but never mind. The food also took longer to arrive. It's always busy, so here too, I'd blame it on the busy restaurant. The food itself was unfortunately a disappointment this time. Everything tasted barely seasoned, the falafel on the vegan platter wasn't cooked properly (too mushy). Once again, the salad was off. The fish I ordered had no flavor, the fried potatoes were tasteless and very dry. The couscous salad on the vegan platter was also dry, and the vegetable patti was cold. The dips were very small portions and had a rather bland flavor. All in all, a disappointing experience, a real shame, because the ambiance is great, and until recently, so was the food. I hope that changes. I would be very happy if that happened.

The Landau is and remains a place to go for good food in Langendreer. It's been known for its delicious food since my childhood. I can recommend everyone to visit the restaurant. Even after several changes of ownership, the quality hasn't changed. Simply fantastic!

The food is always delicious. The concept of the individual bowls is visually appealing, but the quantity is very small. One bowl is enough for olives, but it's actually too much. For meat and patatas, it's rather limited. I had four pieces of chicken, maybe 80-100g, less than a handful of patatas bravas, and a small meatball as the main ingredient. The rest was olives, aioli, some salad, and two small slices of bread. The whole mix is, as I said, very tasty, but more like an appetizer platter. You could, of course, order something else, but that's where the price comes into play. At €17.50, the whole thing is rather expensive. As I said, I really like Landau, and the food and atmosphere are great. A tip: 2 or 3 more pieces of meat and a few more patatas would enhance the dishes and not make them look like cost-cutting measures. Otherwise, I would definitely go back. The service is excellent and friendly.

Hello everyone, we (my wife and aunt with her husband) had dinner in Landau again on Saturday and I just have to say that I liked it from A to Z as always. I think the rooms are great, I also think the attention to detail there is great... the food is very good anyway (tapas whether meat or fish are really great) and the service is also really good, always there to take further orders or to clear the table of plates and bowls. So if you haven't been there to eat yet, you've missed something and should catch up quickly.
