Pasta Davini in Frankfurt am Main

The Pasta Davini is located on a street parallel to the Zeil, directly opposite a parking garage, which already answers the question of parking spaces. A table reservation in advance is an absolute must. The restaurant itself is housed in two apartments in an old town house and also has a few outdoor seats on the street. If you want to enter, you have to ring the doorbell, just like you would when entering an apartment. The guest rooms are very tastefully decorated, you have the feeling of sitting in a private living room. The staff was very friendly and we were warmly welcomed. As our visit progressed, there was nothing to complain about with the service; further requests were asked and the orders came to the table promptly. The food itself is really delicious and we all enjoyed it. We had truffle bruschetta, salad with goat cheese, burrata, various pasta dishes and osso bucco. We all agreed that we have rarely eaten such delicious pasta dishes. Our special highlight was actually the bruschetta. We would be happy to come here again when the opportunity arises. However, there is one point deducted for the service because it is really very difficult to reserve a table as the telephone availability is really a disaster. That's a shame because it makes it really difficult to come back.

Pasta Davini is one of those places that you are told about - and the description follows one superlative after the next. The food is phenomenal: fresh, authentic, delicious. From the classic carbonara to tagliatelle with rabbit, everything is included. Wonderful! But the starters and desserts are also impressive, as are the wines. We recently celebrated a friend's birthday here with 10 people and were all completely stuffed and extremely happy at the end of the evening. Thanks to the team, it's wonderful with you every time! Feeling good is part of the concept here. ❤️

Magical, family restaurant. The food has tasted fabulous for 10 years and continues to delight again and again! I really enjoy going there and showing many people this “insider tip”. You definitely have to reserve in advance because they are (rightly) always fully booked.

We went to Pasta Davini for the first time yesterday and first of all it was an absolute dream. The food tastes amazing and the quality is extremely high. The dishes could have come from a typical grandmother, combining traditional Italian cuisine with modern influences. I had frutti die mare salad as a starter and rabbit with pasta for the main course. Both outstanding. In addition, the wine from Calabria is a straight A. Only reaching us by telephone for reservations is sometimes a bit difficult. We'd love to come back!

According to the website “We accept your reservation by phone on our opening days from 4:30 p.m.,” I have been trying to reach someone by phone for three weeks now, which doesn’t work because no one answers.

Verstecktes Restaurant in der Heiligkreuzgasse. Mehrere Räume in einem Wohnhaus. Wird von italienischen „Omas“ betrieben. Daher authentische italienische Küche. Wir waren zu einer Firmenveranstaltung eingeladen hatten den hinteren „Salon“ reserviert. Das Konzept wurde erläutert: Essen wie bei einer italienischen Nonna zu Hause. Familiär, grundsolide, authentisch. Kleiner Raum, eigenwillige Bestuhlung, alles wirkt etwas zusammengewürfelt, im Hintergrund „bollerte“ ein alter Gasofen vor sich hin. Das ist schon gewöhnungsbedürftig. Als Starter wurden sehr leckere Bruschetta gereicht mit Mozzarella und Tomate sowie Thunfisch und krossem Speck. Sehr lecker. Der Aperitiv bestand stilecht in einem Campari mit Eis. Die Antipasti-Platten waren klassisch Vitello Tonnato (gut), Rindercarpaccio (sehr gut) und Blattsalat mit geräucherter Forelle und Lachs (sehr gut). Dazu gereichtes Cabiatta sehr gut. Dan die Pasta. Ein Gedicht. Die Gnocci in Salbeibutter waren ein Traum. Dazu wird Parmesan frisch abgehobelt. Danach kamen Ravioli, gefüllt mit Ricotta, auch gut aber etwas hart. Als Hauptspeise gibt es was eben an dem Tag gibt. Wir hatten Kaninchen, Wildschwein und die Ochsenbäckchen, jeweils mit Papardelle. Alles sehr gut! Als Abschluss ein cremiges Zitronensorbet.

A real gem in Frankfurt! I absolutely loved the Pasta Davini. The atmosphere is cozy and familiar – perfect for a great evening. The food was simply outstanding: fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors and beautifully presented. I was particularly impressed by the attentive and warm service, which rounded off the evening perfectly. You really feel welcome and well looked after here. I've never eaten such great noodles in my life. I'll definitely be back.

Cannot comment on the food as we could not even get a table. Called 1 hour after their service closes and 1 hour before service starts. No one picks up and later they simply appear as user busy during service hours. We came in person to get a table two months in advance and we were asked to wait for 2-3 mins. After 20 mins of waiting we went in to ask again and they drove us away saying oh sorry we only take reservations for next month - also Leute ermm was!?! Is there no appreciation or customer service that we came in person to get a table? I mean what kind of high horse are you riding man? — Update: Finally managed to get a reservation and the food is excellent. It’s a pity that customer service is so bad

I have never eaten at Pasta Davini, and frankly, I no longer have any desire to. The reservation process is absurdly frustrating and outdated. Despite countless attempts to call at various times—and even asking a friend who knows the owners for help—we were simply told to “call at specific times.” Yet, no one ever picks up the phone. There is no online booking system like OpenTable, no email contact, and no alternative way to make a reservation. It feels as though they’re actively discouraging people from dining here. At this point, I don’t care how good the food might be; this lack of basic customer service and accessibility is inexcusable. Running a restaurant like this in today’s world is baffling and leaves a terrible impression.

I have rarely eaten such good Italian food. Authentic, super intense taste. You feel a bit like Nona is at home in the living room. The employees are very friendly and uncomplicated. Really an exception in the gastronomic landscape.

My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary at Pasta Davini and it was a thoroughly successful evening. From the aperitif to the dessert, everything tasted perfect. The food was delicious. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We had a great evening here yesterday. There were gestures I've never had a menu with 9 courses before. Everything was prepared with so much love and the taste was absolutely amazing. Great service from everyone. We'll be back thanks for this perfect evening.

Great food and very nice service!

We got a table pretty spontaneously, we were then told on site that we only had the table for 1 hour and that was what we were told on the phone. We weren't told that on the phone. After we reported this, we were still asked to leave after 1 hour because other guests would come then. That's just not possible, we couldn't enjoy our food. No matter how good the food is, we definitely won't be back.

I booked a reservation a month in advance (the first available). On arrival the door was locked & a sign says to ring the bell. We waited and rang for 15 minutes, no answer. The restaurant was full of guests & staff but no server ever acknowledged us. Of course the phone also was not answered.

Was there on Saturday evening. Reservations are essential because the food and service is appreciated by so many guests that everything is often fully booked well in advance. Very tasty and lovingly prepared food - the advantage of the changing small menu is that everything is fresh and prepared for each order. I have never had a better tiramisu anywhere - not even in Italy! Clear recommendation and I will definitely come back.

This was our second time at Pasta Davini in Frankfurt. Unfortunately this visit was very disappointing. We had to wait almost 90 minutes for our main courses, which was really annoying. Customer Service: 0 Reservation system: HORRIBLE Worth it?: If you are the person that likes to beg, go for it. Review: I heard so many good reviews about this place and I have been trying to book a table for the last months (more than 3). After so many tries of calling to their phone and nobody picking-up I decided to go and make a PERSONAL reservation, just 15 min after their opening time. One lady opened the door and I asked kindly to make a reservation, they said they are fully booked for the next 2 weeks, then I asked for the next possible date and... surprisingly they asked me to make a call for a reservation, yes! After nobody pick the phone the previous day, they wanted me to call them. I was shock that they did not want to take my reservation there, in front of their own restaurant! The lady even told me that I should call at 16:00 or 18:00, as these are the only times they pick up the phone. Yes, you read it right, they have just 2 times during the day where you can do the reservation. I did not want to give up so easy so I called them from 18:00 until 18:15 and NOBODY pick up the phone. Really bad service. There are other restaurant in Frankfurt that really value their customers, and after my experience I think Pasta Davini is just an overvalue restaurant, It is a pity how they treat their potential new customers. Maybe their food is good, but there are other Italians Restaurant willing to treat you better.

Very nice! Best pasta in a long time, although the most expensive and the service employee was a bit uncommunicative 🙃 The map wasn't as extensive as expected. We were informed that the dishes written on the board probably didn't exist, only those on the handwritten menu. Nevertheless, upon request, there was spaghetti carbonara, which was not on the menu. The spaghetti carbonara (€25/portion) was our absolute highlight - the very large portion was freshly mixed at the table with egg yolk, parsley, pecorino and parmesan. Thanks :)

By far the best restaurant experience of my life so far! Were personally greeted by the cook. She explained the menu to us and brought us bread and water in advance. The Limoncello Spritz was 10/10 and the pasta was SO GOOD too!! Afterwards I had tiramisu and mango sorbet for my friend. Would go there again and again on special occasions 🩷

At first the service seemed a bit disorganized: our reservation wasn't prepared and they said we didn't have a reservation even though my name was in the reservation book. After we pointed this out, we were graciously given the choice of whether we wanted to sit outside or inside. The manager of the restaurant took our food order, made recommendations and offered vegetarian options that were not on the menu. At the end there was an espresso on the house. The food was wonderful and the quality was immediately noticeable. It was like finding a piece of Italy in the middle of Frankfurt. It should also be mentioned that the boss seemed very nice and hospitable. Despite the bumpy start, the evening was very successful and we will definitely come back. Definitely a recommended address for special occasions!

Now its taking weeks of endless calls to reserve (as no-one picks up).Well we finally succeeded but despite being excited for a revival of past glorious food - we had intermittent and somewhat unattentive service… and the food while good, did not meet the raving reviews. You used to be better and cared!

Excellent food, whether it's the antipadti or the pasta dishes! Nice and attentive service. You feel like you're in a small trattoria in the middle of Bella Italia. Reservation absolutely required. For reservations of 4 or more people, a deposit is required. So far so good. The only bad thing is that it was almost impossible to get through to reserve a table by phone. I ended up showing up there in person.

This was our second time at Pasta Davini and we had reserved the table at 8 p.m. for a special occasion 4 weeks in advance. We got the table on the terrace on the far right outside on the edge next to a broken screen. Drinks were served after 20 minutes, followed shortly by antipasti. The starter was served about 20 minutes later. After the starter we were asked again if we needed any more drinks when our aperitif was still half full, after that there were none Waiter to see more. We waited in vain for the pasta. Shortly before 10 p.m. we asked for our order and it finally came at 10:15 p.m. As an apology, my friend got 1 glass of wine on the house. The truffle pasta was fried linguine with fresh truffles for €28.50. Unfortunately the taste didn't come out at all and was masked by the fried noodles. The Vongole was delicious. After waiting very hungry for our food, we didn't have it remade. Overall, a very disappointing evening with service that seemed unstructured and unfortunately either overwhelmed or inattentive. We know that Pasta Davini has a very good reputation and we remembered it differently. Unfortunately, we cannot confirm this this time. There was a very warm older lady who only came to us towards the end of the evening, from whom we ordered the bill and ended the evening with a liqueur on the house. In total we paid €110 for 1 starter, 2x pasta, 2 aperitifs and 2 bottles of water (which we had to ask for several times).

Mozzarella is sold to you as burrata. Waiter is arrogant and waitress gives you the cutlery from her apron and touches it completely...

First, the slight complaints: Since no one answers the phone and reservations are not possible via the HP, I drove directly by at around 6 p.m. in March to make a reservation here. Then the waiter was a bit annoyed because I was disturbing him during service, whereupon I told him that I hadn't been able to reach anyone by phone for weeks, which he didn't understand. So he was able to give me a table at the beginning of June, about 3 months later. This is a bit tedious and, in my opinion, unnecessary. Nevertheless, I have to say that the evening itself was very good. The recommendations, the homely atmosphere and the quality of the food are simply TOP - but you have to be prepared to leave around 30 EUR for a pasta - for two people including wine you pay 120-150 EUR. But in my opinion the price is worth it. Bravo!

Went there to reserve a table because they were not picking my call even after multiple attempts! But a very very rude employee who’s just shouting at me that he’s made to work alone and he has no time to take my reservation for the date that I’m trying to book after 1 week! Kind hospitality would cost you nothing but a nice behaviour! But anyways, super embarrassing moment for me! I was planning to celebrate a very special occasion here and after this experience I wouldn’t want to come here ever again! Overall I felt IT’S NOT WORTH THE HYPE! Employees need soft skills training to not put their work pressure on the customers! Impolite hospitality can never compensate for any good food!

Everything is great here, it starts with the ambience, which transports you to an Italian family celebration. The extremely good service with outstanding friendliness leaves nothing to be desired. But the crowning glory is the food. I can't really remember ever leaving a restaurant so satisfied, full and happy.

We've been there once before and had a lovely evening. The food was good and the service was nice. Unfortunately, the other experiences were negative. The restaurant is very small, so it is understandable that reservations should be made early. But: We have a voucher, so the service has already been paid for. We've been trying to redeem this for months. In March we wanted to reserve a table for May. We were told that we were too early and should not call again until the beginning of May. Today (April 28th) after numerous call attempts we received the answer that all tables for May were already fully booked. No understanding that a voucher has already been paid for. There was also no response when we pointed out the previous phone call. There was no suggestion for a free alternative date or any understanding. Instead, we were asked to call around 11 p.m. for future reservations, as we would have more time.

The service is usually chaotic and orders are often forgotten. But there are pretty much the best pasta dishes (after No. 16) that make up for it. Great shop. You just have to have the necessary change and patience. No problem for me - as long as there is enough wine. Salute!

One of the best culinary experiences we have had so far. Everything was right. The ambience is nice, the food is incredibly tasty and the service is very accommodating. The idea that the restaurant is located in a residential building in the two ground floor apartments is also something extraordinarily special.

Totally rude! Everything is a mini portion, even no understanding of German! I tipped 10 euros and the waitress looked like it wasn't enough! Outrageous! Service super bad! No patience at all! Food was a bit too cold and prices were very high for a small portion. Never again!

The restaurant was recommended to me because of the good food, so I tried to reserve a table. The reservation was only possible by telephone. I tried all evening to no avail. So I came over without further ado and stood in front of the door for half an hour, even though the shop was open, until a very annoyed waiter opened the door to tell me that there was no table until the end of the month. I was really excited about the store but that's a no go for me.

Tried everything. Called at least 10 times, of course on days when the homepage says it is open. Nobody answers. Email address from the legal notice was sent back as undeliverable. It's a shame, I would have liked to try it based on a recommendation, but it doesn't work that way.

A real surprise. Very cozy, small, excellent food. As the name suggests, the focus is on pasta, which is very tasty. Plus fish, seafood, meat, whatever is available seasonally. One of the best Italian sports in Frankfurt, but really hard to get a table (pro tip: go in person to make a reservation shortly after they open and before they get busy). The initial experience is not that great. But once your reservation has been confirmed and you are seated at your table, you are in for a treat. The quality of the food is excellent!

Pasta Davini is a truly special place. Super tasty and homemade food that can be enjoyed in a homely/homely atmosphere. Really great when it comes to service… very accommodating and proactive. The dishes are accompanied by an explanation based on tradition and experience. You feel good!

The best pasta outside Italy :)

As always, super tasty. Unfortunately it took a very long time, 100 minutes from the time the starter was ordered until the main course arrived. We had to complain about it, but in return we gave the main courses for free and it was a lot of fun there as always. We will be back.

Despite the amazing food, it is simply impossible to get a table reservation - since end December I have been trying to call all weeks, to get a table reservation, and have tried to call already at least 50 times. The call is either busy or no one picks up. There is no good food that compensates such a lack of attention with customers.

Für uns war der Abend leider eher enttäuschend. Das Essen ist wirklich gut, keine Frage, aber sonst lässt es bisschen zu wünschen übrig. Ich verstehe, welches Konzept mit dem Restaurant verfolgt wird (oldschool italienisches, familiäres Lokal), allerdings gelingt es meiner Meinung nach nicht ganz, es durchzusetzen. Reservierungen gehen nur über das Telefon, weil man es „wie früher“ machen möchte und deshalb auf Online-Dienste verzichtet. Es ist allerdings sehr schwer telefonisch jemanden zu erreichen, weil die Kellner*innen zu 100% auf die Gäste vor Ort konzentriert sind (was ja gut ist). Den Zutritt zum Restaurant bekommt man nur über eine Wohnhaustür, an der man klingeln muss. Bei uns war die Klingel defekt, klopfen und Telefon wurde nicht wahrgenommen (weil man nach 17:00 Uhr nicht mehr ans Telefon geht). Nachdem wir 20 Minuten draußen gewartet haben, kamen wir mit einem Bewohner des Hauses ins Restaurant. Die Einrichtung ist nicht ganz gemütlich und einheitlich, es wirkt sehr zusammengewürfelt und kühl. Im Raum selbst war es bei unserem Besuch auch recht frisch. Die Speisekarten sind mit Edding auf irgendwelche Zettel geschrieben, Preise fehlen und die Tageskarte wird nicht aktuell gehalten. Auch hier verstehe ich wo es hin soll, wirkt für mich aber eher nachlässig als gemütlich und unkompliziert. Das Essen ist im gehobenen Preissegment, allerdings durchaus berechtigt und von guter Qualität. Das Personal ist ganz nett und auch sehr bemüht. Die Wartezeiten für die Speisen waren allerdings recht lang. Kartenzahlung geht erst ab einer Rechnung von 100€, was ich einen sehr hohen Oberbetrag finde. Scheinbar wird aber auf der Internetseite darauf hingewiesen - finde ich aber widersprüchlich, weil man doch auf Onlinedienste verzichten möchte?! Alles in allem ist das Essen gut. Für den Preis erwarte ich aber ein besseres Gesamterlebnis und bevorzuge daher andere Restaurants, die das bieten.

Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen! In zwei Erdgeschosswohnungen in der Frankfurter Innenstadt liegt dieses von außen unscheinbare Restaurant. Kleine Räume mit ca. kleinen Tischen. Sehr gemütlich und schön eingerichtet. Sehr zuvorkommendes und freundliches Personal. Die Speisekarte ist immer am wechseln, aber stets von gleichbleibend hoher Qualität. Wählen kann man aus jeweils ca. 10 Vorspeise und Hauptgängen, Nachtisch gibt es auch. Perfektes Essen mit super authentischem und kompetenten Service! Gerne wieder!

What we liked: - quality of food - service - atmosphere What we did not like: - we were not told about a reservation time limit when we arrived and when we ordered a second round, so it was quite fast to down drinks when the upcoming party arrived - it is a bit hard to organise a reservation as nobody picked up the telephone for a couple of times However, we will be back as we really enjoyed our evening but we will make a proper dinner reservation starting at 8/ 7.30 pm to have no time limit 💚

Wir waren am Samstag zum ersten Mal bei Pasta Davin. Der Laden war gut besucht und wir haben einen schönen Tisch im Blau Salon bekommen. Das Essen war unglaublich gut und Service trotz viel zu tun sehr herzlich und nett. Es war ein toller Abend und wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Unfassbare gute Pasta. Ein Stück Italien mitten in Frankfurt. Danke für das herausragende Essen und bis bald.

Nach Monate langen Versuchen telefonisch durchzukommen, hatten wir es geschafft für letzte Woche einen Tisch von 17:30 bis 20 Uhr zu bekommen. Da der Slot bekannt war und 2,5 Std für gemütliches Essen eigentlich ausreichend sind, haben wir uns sehr auf den Abend gefreut. Leider war unser Kellner extrem unfreundlich, wir konnten das handgeschriebene, lieblose Papier mit dem Menu nicht richtig lesen und baten um Erklärung was es denn gäbe, da meinte er patzig, stehe ja auf dem Menu und ging weg. Nach etwa 15-20 Minuten kam er dann und meinte, was wir denn jetzt wollen. Wir haben bestellt, Vorspeise kam relativ schnell. Danach dauerte es sehr lange bis der Hauptgang kam, einige Patzer vom Kellner was Parmesankäse und Anreichen angeht, aber wir dachten was soll es, schauen wir mal drüber hinweg. Das Essen war sehr gut, und nach langem warten kam er dann, die Teller abzuräumen und fragte ob wir noch ein Limoncello wollten. Auf unsere Frage nach Dessert bekamen wir die Antwort, das geht jetzt nicht mehr, wir müssten gehen, nur ein Kaffee wäre noch drinnen. Mit dem Espresso hat er uns dann auch wortlos die Rechnung hingelegt. Der Slot war uns bekannt, alles gut, aber wenn der Service bzw die Küche es dann nicht schafft, die Speisen so zuzubereiten, dass man noch genug Zeit für nen Nachtisch oder ein Espresso hat, geht das nicht. Wir waren ja nicht in einer Pizzeria sondern in einem Restaurant mit entsprechendem Preisnivea. Sehr schade, aber für uns leider der letzte Besuch.

Wie in Italien, vielleicht sogar besser! Bei Pasta Davini bekommt man die besten Pasta, die alle auch noch hausgemacht sind. Man fühlt, dass alles mit Liebe zubereitet und sogar serviert wird. Besonders gefallen hat uns, dass saisonal gekocht wird, die Gerichte außergewöhnlich sind und es fast immer vongole gibt! Auch das selbstgemachte Tiramisu und Tartufo nero kann sich sehen lassen. Ein bisschen Wartezeit sollte man schon mitbringen, da die Küche eher klein ist und reservieren am besten weit im Voraus. Klare Empfehlung und wir kommen gerne wieder!

We’ve tried the carbonara and it was the original recipe (without any heavy cream, made with egg yolk and grated parmigiana on the table) They always have different pastas on the menu. I only wish they open the phone when we call. It is impossible/annoying to reach here. Please arrange online table reservation or define a time span for taking reservations please 🙏🏼

Ich mag das Pasta Davini sehr und kann einen Abend dort uneingeschränkt empfehlen. (Ist allerdings schon eine Weile her, dass ich das letzte Mal da war.) Meine Rezension bezieht sich auf die Erreichbarkeit des Restaurants. Wir wollten im Pasta Davini unsere Hochzeit im kleinen, familiären Kreis feiern. Nach diversen erfolglosen Versuchen, das Restaurant telefonisch oder per Email zu erreichen haben wir uns nun für ein anderes Restaurant entschieden. Keinen Anrufbeantworter zu haben, keine Email-Adresse zu haben (die, die im Impressum steht gibt es scheinbar nicht mehr - die Mail kommt zurück mit Empfänger unbekannt) und weder außerhalb noch während der Öffnungszeiten erreichbar zu sein muss man sich leisten können. Das Pasta Davini kann es sich leisten - ich gönne es euch. Enttäuscht sind wir dennoch. Am Ende ist auch die Erreichbarkeit eine Frage des Services und der Professionalität.

Es sind knappe vier Sterne. Essen war gut, aber nicht herausragend. Service durchwachsen. Schönes Ambiente innen.

Anfangs war ich etwas skeptisch ob es nicht der nächste "in" Italiener ist, wurde dann sehr schnell eines besseren belehrt. Service und Herzlichkeit werden dort sehr groß geschrieben. Getoppt wird das ganze allerdings noch von Qualität und Güte der Speisen. Ich denke nicht das Ich je bessere Pasta hatte. Ein Gefühl von Heimat!

Ein wunderschöner Abend! Supernetter Service, tolles Ambiente und perfektes Essen - Bruschetta mega lecker, Pasta schmackhaft und reichlich. Schöner Wein. Preislich nicht ganz günstig, aber auf jeden Fall angemessen! Und auch die in anderen Rezensionen oft bemängelte lange Wartezeit können wir nicht bestätigen: Alles im normalen Rahmen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir kamen auf Empfehlung .. das Essen war fantastisch, die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant ist sehr eng, muss man mögen, weiß man aber vorher. Draußen ist das "Ambiente" nicht vorhanden, was an der Lage liegt. Ich würde definitiv gerne nochmal hingehen, allerdings, dass die Karte per Hand lieblos aufgeschrieben ist (angeblich gut es gar keine Karte) war jetzt nicht so unser Geschmack, aber das ganze ohne Preisangaben, das geht gar nicht für mich persönlich.
