Insbesondere der Biergarten ist jedesmal einen Besuch wert. Der karamelisierte Kaiserschmarrn mit 3erlei Soßen ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Ich waren an einem Donnerstag zum Spare Ribs (all you can eat) essen im Restaurant, leider war mein Hunger nicht so groß, (Eine Portion , .. ohne Nachbestellung) dass ich freundlich die Bedienung fragte, ob ich die Spare Ribs auf meinen Teller mit nach Hause nehmen darf. Die Antwort lautet: Das ist nicht möglich, diese werden weggeschmissen. Sehr , sehr schade, dass man so mit Gästen umgeht!

Wir waren heute im Biergarten, mit Reservierung. Es waren nicht mal 50% der Tische besetzt und trotzdem haben wir ernsthaft fast 1 Stunde auf unsere zwei Gerichte gewartet. Das Schnitzel war mit Fett voll gesaugt und die Beilage zu den Spareribs war auch nur so naja.... Das einzig Positive heute war die sehr freundliche Bedienung. Leider ein einmaliger Besuch gewesen. Der Nachbartisch mit ca. 10 Personen hatte vor uns bestellt und hatte als wir gegangen sind noch nicht mal die Hauptgerichte bekommen... wirklich traurig. Diese hatten sich auch mehrmals beschwert. Es gab allein im Biergarten min. 5 Bedienungen die rum liefen, aber in der Küche fehlt wohl dringend Personal.

Wir hatten einen wirklich tollen Besuch! Obwohl wir keine Reservierung hatten, haben wir trotzdem einen Platz auf der Terrasse bekommen, das war schon ein super Start. Die Bedienung war durchweg sehr, sehr nett und aufmerksam, wir haben und direkt wohlgefühlt. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den Espresso Martini: Den bestellen wir eigentlich fast immer, aber hier hat er wirklich besonders gut geschmeckt. Für mich hatte er sogar einen leichten Tiramisu-Touch, einfach wow! Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Wir sind immer wieder gerne vor Ort. Hervorragendes Essen, gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und sowohl im Innenbereich als auch draußen ein tolles Ambiente.

Ein wirklich sehr schönes Restaurant. Außerordentlich nett gelegen. Mit den ganzen Pferden rundherum ist es eine sehr nette und schöne Atmosphäre. Das Essen ist außerordentlich gut und der Service außerordentlich aufmerksam. Ein wahrer Geheimtipp.

Ein wunderbarer Ort, den wir über das Gutscheinbuch entdeckt haben. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet ebenso der Service. Die Einrichtung ist sehr modern und hat mir wunderbar gefallen. Auch die Toiletten sind wirklich fantastisch. Wir kommen gerne wieder im Sommer wenn dann hoffentlich der Biergarten geöffnet hat und wir bei schönem Wetter die Küche im Verein genießen können.

Ein zufälliger Besuch nach einem sonnigen Ausflug an frischer Luft, führte uns in dieses wunderbare Lokal. Inmitten von Reitübungsplätzen gelegen, haben wir ein Lokal vorgefunden, welches bereits durch die schöne, eingeschlossene Terrasse sehr einladend aussah. Innen finden sich kleine frische, aber ansprechende Räume vor. Einer davon sehr hoch mit einem kleinen Klavier, ein kleines Separee mit bodentiefen Fenstern die den Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang freigeben. Ein weiteres kleines Separee befindet sich rechts vom Eingang. Leise und gut gewählte Musik begleitete uns durch das Abendessen. Das Essen war gut und liebevoll serviert. Wir haben uns überaus wohlgefühlt und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Die Kinderkarte sorgt zudem für mindestens für Spiel und Spaß (und mindestens für eine halbe Stunde Ruhe am Tisch ;) )

Wir waren heute mit einer Gruppe von 8 Personen und einem Kind im Gut Mergenthau Restaurant – leider war der Besuch von Anfang bis Ende eine große Enttäuschung. Wir hatten für 8 Personen und ein Kind reserviert. Als wir ankamen, war der Tisch jedoch nur für 8 Personen gedeckt und viel zu eng. Auf unseren Hinweis hin meinte der Kellner nur, er werde sich darum kümmern, ging aber einfach weg. Zusätzliches Besteck wurde ebenfalls erst nach Aufforderung gebracht. Auch beim Bestellen lief einiges schief: Eine Vorspeise wurde komplett vergessen. Bei den Hauptgerichten wurde ebenfalls ein Gericht vergessen, sodass die betroffene Person ihr Essen erst bekam, nachdem alle anderen bereits fertig waren. Ein weiteres Problem war ein Gericht, das mit Pilzen serviert wurde. In der Karte war zwar der Name des Pilzes angegeben, allerdings mit einem sehr ungewöhnlichen Begriff. Als wir nachfragten, was genau auf dem Gericht ist, konnte uns die Kellnerin nicht einmal sagen, dass es sich um Pilze handelt. Das ist besonders problematisch, wenn jemand eine Pilzallergie hat. Als Dessert wurde ein Kaiserschmarrn bestellt – und zwar bereits zusammen mit dem Hauptgericht. Trotzdem mussten wir nach dem Essen noch etwa 30 Minuten darauf warten. Besonders enttäuschend war das Ganze, weil wir als Familie eigentlich den Geburtstag unseres 3-jährigen Kindes dort mit einem gemeinsamen Mittagessen feiern wollten. Leider war der Ablauf so chaotisch, dass von einer entspannten Feier keine Rede sein konnte. Was uns zusätzlich sehr irritiert hat: Das Restaurant war zu diesem Zeitpunkt fast leer – außer uns war nur noch ein weiteres Paar da. Trotzdem wirkte der Service überhaupt nicht bemüht, und mehrere Bestellungen wurden vergessen. Für die Preise, die hier verlangt werden, ist das wirklich enttäuschend.

Entspannter Abend in gemütlich eleganter Atmosphäre. Der Aperitif, die Cocktails, waren für mich teils neu und sehr ausgewogen. Das Essen war ganz nach meinem Geschmack, alles frisch und herzhaft zubereitet. Das Menü war perfekt, sowohl Präsentation, als auch Zusammenstellung und letztendlich der Preis. Ein dicker Daumen hoch! Der Service war freundlich, aufmerksam aber nicht aufdringlich! Kurz gesagt: Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Wir haben heute zu fünft einen Geburtstag im Reitpark Mergenthau gefeiert. Drei Personen haben Spareribs all you can eat genommen und waren begeistert. Ich hatte die Ochsenbäckchen mit Kartoffelpüree und Gemüse - auch sehr lecker. Ein rundum gelungener Abend!

Essen Freundlichkeit und Ambiente waren grandios

Wir waren am Valentinstag zum 4-Gang-Menü im Reitpark Mergenthau. Positiv vorweg: Das Ambiente ist wirklich sehr schön und romantisch – passend für ein Date, viele Pärchen, sehr ruhige Atmosphäre. Das Personal war außerdem durchweg freundlich. Leider gab es aber einige Punkte, die den Abend etwas getrübt haben. Der alkoholfreie Aperitif wurde z.B. nicht als kostenpflichtig erwähnt und später extra berechnet. Auch beim Mineralwasser waren wir uns unsicher, da es in Glasflaschen abgefüllt serviert wurde und nicht erkennbar war, ob es tatsächlich Mineralwasser war. Während des gesamten Abends wurde außerdem nicht aktiv nach weiteren Getränkewünschen gefragt. Zum Essen: Die Vorspeise (Ziegenkäse mit Feigen) war geschmacklich gut, aber für eine Vorspeise sehr üppig. Beim Hauptgang waren die Gnocchi mit Trüffel leider nicht ganz stimmig – die Gnocchi sehr groß und der Trüffel zu dick gehobelt. Beim Dessert war das Mangosorbet bereits aus, sodass wir unterschiedliche Alternativen bekommen haben. Das Personal war freundlich, wir hätten uns beim Servieren jedoch eine kurze Erklärung zu den einzelnen Gängen gewünscht. Insgesamt wirkte der Service etwas unkoordiniert. Für 59 € pro Person hatten wir uns insgesamt etwas mehr erwartet. Es war ein netter Abend, aber kein Erlebnis, das wir unbedingt wiederholen würden.

Ein Traum, alles erfüllt hier Sternekriterien! Für immer meine erste Wahl wenn es um einen schönen Abend geht.

Das Restaurant hat in seiner Qualität leider stark nachgelassen. Nachdem wir bei der Qualität des Abendessens bereits enttäuscht wurden, haben wir dem Restaurant nochmal eine Chance beim Frühstück gegeben. Wir kennen die Brunch-Karte noch aus dem Sommer und waren vor kurzem nach dieser guten Erfahrung wieder im Lokal, um zu brunchen. Wir haben uns an diesem Tag etwas gewundert, da wir an einem Samstag die einzigen Gäste waren. Die Frühstückskarte wurde stark ausgedünnt und ich habe nach dem Toast mit Ei gefragt, der uns netterweise zubereitet wurde, obwohl er nicht auf der Karte stand. Aber das, was bei uns ankam, war in unseren Augen wirklich dreist. Wir haben jeweils 13 € für ein Toastbrot mit einem misslungenen pochierten Ei drauf bezahlt. Trocken und geschmacklos. Selbst der Kellnerin war es unangenehm, uns das zu servieren. Man fühlt sich als Gast einfach veräppelt, wenn man versucht, lokale Restaurants zu unterstützen und dann ganz offensichtlich etwas vorgesetzt bekommt, was man sich zuhause für dreimal weniger Geld, aber für den doppelten Geschmack hätte zubereiten können. Wir wollten einfach normal frühstücken gehen und einen schönen Vormittag haben, stattdessen haben wir uns einfach „abgezogen“ gefühlt. Wir werden das Restaurant leider nicht mehr besuchen und verstehen, weshalb der Laden leer war. Wenigstens hat die Präsentation des Essens bei uns für Lacher gesorgt. Die Bedienung war immerhin sehr freundlich.

Regional und Empfehlenswert, weiter so!

We visited on Thursday for spare ribs. The restaurant is very nicely and modernly decorated, though a bit cooler. You immediately feel comfortable and can tell that everything has been thoughtfully designed. The food was delicious and the staff took excellent care of us. Definitely recommended!

We found this restaurant through a coupon booklet. We were very satisfied; the food was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive, and our child and dog were welcome. They offered seasonal dishes and even a winter aperitif during Advent.

Highly recommended time and time again: Free parking right outside, lovely atmosphere, dogs are welcome and there are tables where your dog can relax in a quiet corner, fantastic staff, and the chef is brilliant! My girlfriend had half a duck: one of the best we've ever eaten. I had the set menu: every course was perfect. The prices are reasonable for the quality. And the restaurant is open on Sunday evenings, which is unfortunately becoming an exception in Mering and the surrounding area. We no longer spend a lot of time looking for (new) restaurants to try in the area, but always end up back at Restaurant Mergenthau: thank you to the chef and the staff!

We tried the one-pot duck to go and were absolutely thrilled! It tasted fantastic and was ready at home within 20 minutes. Just put the duck in the oven and heat the side dishes in a pot – that's it! It's a really great idea if you want something special to eat but don't feel like cooking. We would definitely order it again and were very impressed with the restaurant.

I love the changing offerings. There's always a new surprise! Yesterday I had a perfect duck, already boned and served in a fantastic sauce with red cabbage and potato dumplings. The dishes are always lovingly prepared, so every course is a feast for the eyes. The set menu is also highly recommended. There's something for everyone. The ambiance is appealingly modern.

A very nice restaurant with excellent food and top-notch service. A lovely outdoor area and an additional hall for larger parties. There's a play area for children and a great concept with placemats to color in and puzzles. The benches, which are a bit too low to the tables, are the only thing that detracts from my rating. The chairs are fine.

Outstanding!! We recently had a large celebration there with about 90 guests. Lisa and her team did a fantastic job both in the preparation and during the celebration itself! The ambiance is absolutely beautiful, and the food was also excellent! The service team perfectly rounded off our celebration, always attentive and prompt!

Quite good in itself – but the value for money isn't right. The menu is quite small, which is initially a good sign. Unfortunately, despite the information on the table, on the wall, and on the website, there was no lunch menu on Sunday at 1:00 PM, which we had originally expected. Not a big deal in itself, but when we asked about the lunch menu, we were looked at as if we were stupid and were simply given the snippy comment that only the dinner menu was available on Sundays. The small sign at our table said something completely different: "Lunch Time: Thursday–Sunday from 11:30 AM–2:00 PM." We decided to stay anyway and order something from the dinner menu – a big mistake. The portions are quite modest for what you get, and the quality, while good, is neither outstanding nor justifies the price. My partner had the "short ribs" – unfortunately, very tough and dry in places. The sauce was good, but nothing special. The side dish, fregola sarda, was neither flavorful nor harmonious with the rest of the dish. I had the roast beef with onions. The meat was tender, the sauce was adequate – albeit far too little – and the cheese spaetzle were standard fare. However, I have to say that I could have made the entire dish at home both better and much cheaper. The two house lemonades, on the other hand, were very tasty and reasonably priced – that deserves praise. What bothered me personally was that the wait staff asked every other table in the room about their satisfaction – but they pointedly ignored us. Perhaps as a young couple, you simply don't fit the usual guest profile, or asking about the lunch menu was too rude for the staff. The two young wait staff were friendly and attentive, but it quickly became apparent that only the older lady had real decision-making authority – her every move was monitored closely. I personally find this a real shame, as dedicated staff can quickly become demotivated and blind to the business. Our conclusion: The food is okay, the menu is unusual, but the execution is unfortunately flawed. A restaurant for people with little knowledge of culinary arts and hospitality, who primarily want to show off and squander their money. We ourselves know of much better, cheaper, and above all, more welcoming restaurants – and we probably won't pay this place another visit.

We went to the restaurant on a Sunday, and I have to say, we regret it. The restaurant is generally very nice, and the staff very friendly and helpful, but there is a major problem with communication. Last year, several of us were there, and we had charges on our bill that weren't communicated in advance. This time, it was again a communication issue, as statements about the food were made that were subsequently retracted. We were then asked to choose a different dish, which isn't generally a problem, but neither an apology nor any other effort to ensure customer satisfaction was made. Instead, a manager came in who was simply unfriendly and seemed like she was above everyone else. In my opinion, this manager should first learn how to deal with customers. In the price range in which the restaurant is located, customers also have higher expectations, and in my opinion, this restaurant cannot currently meet that. Especially since the dishes didn't taste like the price they were asking for. However, the quality of the food is very good, to be fair and honest. But for us it was definitely the last time we visited this restaurant.

We ate at the restaurant today for my grandma's birthday. It's generally a very nice restaurant with a great beer garden – the ambiance is really pleasant, and most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there were a few things about the meal that disappointed us: A roast pork was suggested as the daily special (not on the menu) – priced at around €20. After about 20 minutes, the waitress came back and said that roast pork wasn't available after all. Instead, they offered pork fillet, to which my father replied that it would be fine for the same price. Shortly afterward, however, the manager came to the table and said that this wasn't possible – we had to choose something from the menu. Even small changes to the side dish would be charged €1. Unfortunately, the steaks were only lukewarm. None of this would be a big problem in principle – but at this price range, you expect a bit more leniency and flexibility, especially for a family meal for a special occasion. Since speaking with the manager, a different waitress has served us – it seemed as though the original waitress was a bit overwhelmed by the situation. We just wish that guests were treated a little more accommodatingly – especially when it comes to simple, solvable issues. Overall, it was still a nice evening – as I said, a great restaurant, a great beer garden, and actually a nice team. But: Things would certainly have been different at the Greek restaurant in Kissing. We still come here occasionally, especially because it's the only beer garden in Kissing.

A lovely restaurant in Kissing. There's plenty of seating inside, outside on the terrace, or in the beer garden. Reservations are available, but you can also find a spot for a walk-in. The quality and taste of the food is very good, and there's a great selection of dishes and drinks. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is modern and beautifully decorated.

The food quality is very good; perhaps the portion sizes would be a little bit larger, and then it would be perfect. The location is super quiet, as there's no through traffic. The staff is very attentive and, above all, friendly. We'd be happy to come back.

We visited the restaurant because they were offering a 20 percent discount voucher as part of a promotional offer. The voucher itself didn't have any restrictions. The meal itself was okay, although I felt the price-performance ratio wasn't balanced. When paying, however, we were informed that the 20 percent discount voucher was only valid for one dish, which also had to cost more than €20. These restrictions weren't clearly stated on the voucher, as mentioned above. Aside from the questionable legality of this type of customer attraction, this is the main reason we won't be visiting this restaurant again.

We went for the all-you-can-eat spare ribs meal, and it was truly delicious, and we had plenty to eat. We'd be happy to go back 😍 The service was very attentive. There was even a slide and a color-in menu for our little one. So we could enjoy the sun. A wonderful evening 🌟

The best cheese spaetzle ever!! As an Allgäu resident, I'm really picky when it comes to cheese spaetzle, but these were absolutely top notch: creamy, spicy and with perfectly roasted onions. The service was warm and attentive. There is also a beautiful beer garden in fantastic surroundings, highly recommended! :)

Ich kenne den Reitpark noch aus den Zeiten vor dem Umbau und ich muss sagen, das, was die Wolferseders aus der alten Reitanlage gezaubert haben, ist sagenhaft. Die Einrichtung ist modern, hell und ansprechend. Man fühlt sich unglaublich wohl und man erlebt eine schöne, coole Atmosphäre beim Betreten. Man sieht, dass die Einrichtung mit Herz und Geschmack ausgewählt wurde. Auch der Saal für größere Feiern bietet auf der anderen Seite des Platzes ein unglaublich schönes Ambiente mit den vielen Fensterfronten, die direkt auf eine Wiese führt, die private Exklusivität im Freien verspricht. Das Team ist freundlich, sehr zuvorkommend und auf zack. Wir wurden bestens bedient und haben mit unserer Servicefee viel gelacht. Die Speisen sind unerwartet modern angerichtet, sehr lecker und fast zu schön, um sie zu essen. Wir saßen wie Influencer vor unseren Tellern und haben jedes Gericht fotografieren müssen. Danke für einen wunderbaren Abend - wir kommen wieder!

Außergewöhnliches und sehr leckeres Essen, Ambiente im Restaurant ist sehr schön und gemütlich. Das Personal ist auch super freundlich und aufmerksam. Waren auch im Sommer schon oft dort im Biergarten, der neben einem Reitplatz angelegt ist. Das ist vor allem für Familien ein schönes Erlebnis. Kenne in der Umgebung keinen vergleichbaren Biergarten.

Wir waren mit 12 Personen hier zum Mittagessen am 1. Weihnachtsfeiertag. Leider war das Essen bei allen Gästen viel zu kalt. Diesbezüglich war nur eine sehr geringe Menge an Soße auf dem Teller, somit mussten wir unsere Spätzle leider trocken essen. Die Essensmenge bzw. die Portion war ebenfalls leider viel zu wenig und völlig überteuert. Geschmacklich war das Essen nicht entsprechend gewürzt. Muß man nicht nochmals haben...!!!

We went to the restaurant for the first time yesterday because I had heard good things about it. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff tries hard. However, the food is correspondingly disappointing. I had Geschnetzeltes with Spätzle. For 19 euros I was served a small plate. The meat was tough and unseasoned. The sauce was so watery and tasteless, really bad. The sauce for the lumberjack steak and the spaetzle with sauce was also really not edible. It was a dark sauce that tasted bitter burnt and was not cooked well at all. When the sauce was complained about, a new one was brought, it tasted even worse, like it had been poured on. You can tell good cuisine by sauces...or not. Because the main course was dissatisfying, we didn't want any more dessert. It's a shame because the atmosphere really has potential.

The quality of the food is manageable

The location is beautifully situated and the tables are also sweetly set. The ambience is really great, unfortunately we were very disappointed with the kitchen. Our drinks took a relatively long time but that can happen sometimes. When the food came we were almost speechless. The plates were arranged extremely carelessly and there was no harmony to be found on the plate. Unfortunately, the sauce tasted completely bitter and was simply in a glass on the plate next to the "actual" onion roast, which had no onions whatsoever. There was a bare piece of meat and chips on the plate with a jar of sauce. The taste of the schnitzel was OK but it was just slapped on the plate. The service person took note of our “criticism”. There was an espresso on the house but it's such a shame that the kitchen wasn't right. The location and the cuisine really don't match at all, which is a shame.

We always enjoyed going to the beer garden at Gut Mergenthau. The great ambience and, above all, the good food convinced us. This is the first time we've been back since the renovation and I absolutely can't understand all the good reviews. The food was really horrible. We ordered drinks and food together. The service staff seemed rather confused. Our food (2x burgers and 1x salad) came before the drinks about 5 minutes after we ordered. That doesn't exactly speak for the preparation of the food. Our pulled pork burgers looked extremely unappetizing. The meat resembled a homogeneous mass - as if it had been put through a meat grinder. Nothing left of the plucked meat. The taste was not good at all. Over-seasoned and this meat mixture was just disgusting and inedible, so we didn't eat most of it and left the meat mixture behind. Unfortunately the fries weren't good either. You would think that not much could go wrong here. Well, far from it. Some of the fries were still raw. And all of this at really steep prices. Desserts only from 10 euros. Gut Mergenthau won't see us again any time soon. I'm still feeling queasy Stomach!

Great location with very good service - there is still room for improvement when it comes to food - lumberjack steak is quite dry and tough - the chicken on the salad is cheap glued meat

Yesterday the four of us went to the Mergenthau Essen riding park. The food was very tasty and came to the table hot. The service was extremely good and always available. We'd love to come back!

a quiet, beautiful place in the countryside, 0 traffic noise. Good design in the facility and the dishes is a noticeable guiding principle. The cuisine is authentic and the quality is excellent. The space offers a harmonious ambience for the very small to the very large group. Good luck!

We chose the guest room, although the terrace is also very inviting and invites you to linger. The guest room is bright and has a special ambience. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was brought to the table quickly and was of the best quality. The restaurant is highly recommended.

Where do I start and where do I end? So - I'm from Kissing and the location isn't new to me - and here comes it. I thought what could be done better? Today - after my first visit after the changes I can say - it's incredibly impressive how everything has been improved. The former "pub" - if you'll excuse the term - has become a restaurant with a wonderfully harmonious ambience to match the location. The staff was very friendly, very accommodating and very attentive. The food - I should note that I live vegan - was amazing. I had the vegan currywurst and would come back for that alone. But my companions were also enthusiastic about their food. Short and sweet - absolutely recommended. I would like to thank you for a wonderful evening 💚

The "Knusperschnitzel" has the quality of something from a snack bar, and you can't imagine traditional, handcrafted quality like that of a good Bavarian inn. Even today, 16 euros (with potato slices dripping with oil) is simply too much. The pulled pork burger was mediocre at best. The entire atmosphere has suffered due to the expansion compared to previous years. You have the feeling of a beer garden with the hustle and bustle of a train station and not, as was the case until last year, a cozy oasis in the countryside. The service employee was very friendly and open to criticism, which was the only really positive impression that evening. To me, the whole thing seems like the operation of a money-making machine and not like a restaurant that wants to offer guests a kind of second home.
