I’ve been to the restaurant several times and decided to celebrate my birthday there. Everything went at the highest level. Very tasty food. Very fun atmosphere. I liked the live music. Next time I plan to go there with friends.

Simply incredible! I've never been as excited about a Persian restaurant as I was here. As soon as you enter you are greeted by a warm, authentic atmosphere. The furnishings, the music and, above all, the smell from the kitchen immediately transport you to the Orient. The food? An absolute dream! Every bite was an explosion of flavor – perfectly seasoned, freshly prepared and served with so much love. The kebab in particular was sensationally tender, and the rice dishes were simply heavenly. The service also deserves high praise: friendly, attentive and warm. You really feel welcome. A must for anyone who loves Persian cuisine or wants to get to know it. I'll definitely be back!

Food quality is good. Live music is good. Forcing minimum order is a bad idea as it causes bad feeling for the customers.Instead, they can define an entrance-fee for the nights they have live music. ( I can understand that live music costs and they should also earn this money). Hidden costs like water on the table, is also not a good idea. Overall, I think, being more clear on costs and customer satisfaction are the points that they should work on.

The kebab was far too greasy - when you pressed it, the oil literally ran out. For dessert we ordered a warm chocolate cake, but that was also a disappointment. It was obviously a ready-made cake that had just been warmed up. You could even see that the paper had already come off. It was dry inside and had a stale taste, so we didn't even finish it. Overall, unfortunately not a good experience. There is definitely room for improvement here – both in the preparation and in the quality of the food.

I can summarize our experience and the divided opinions about the restaurant for you: 1. Food: genuine Persian tastes and the kababs are perfect; Torsh, Koobideh, and Barg are really delicious and portioned adequately. They have a welcome appetizer of bread, cheese and herbs (noon-panir-sabzi). We also enjoyed the nice side dishes and a great homemade safran drink that they recommended. 2. Atmosphere: the live music and people dancing in the middle create a great positive vibe but it can catch you off guard. It can get also quite loud (+100 dB, unsafe for hearing) especially if you are a bit too close to the loud speakers. So in case you have non-Iranian guests or loud music bothers you, be prepared, or I‘d suggest to avoid going there on the evenings when they have live music. Overall the restaurant is nicely decorated but the tables are a bit too cramped together. 3. Staff: They were all nice and helpful, but some of them were clearly under training and a lady was very obviously supervising/micromanaging them. We found the tension a bit too obvious. All in all, I would definitely come back again in the future, but would cautiously recommend it to other friends.

Selten so etwas erlebt…Auto zum Laden abgestellt und nächstes Restaurant gesucht..Papaya..freundliche Begrüßung..2 Tee, 1 Hauptspeise und 2 Vorspeisen bestellt…Tee kam schnell..noch schneller versuchte ein Musiker live zu spielen..zuerst Geige…sehr schlecht…dann Flöte…etwas besser…dann hat er gesungen..auch schlecht..und alles zu laut! Außer unserem war nur noch ein Tisch besetzt..nach 25 Minuten Wartezeit begannen die beiden Servicekräfte am Nebentisch zu essen..auf meine Frage, wann denn unser Essen kommen würde, sagte man uns..wir hätten gar nichts bestellt?!…nun gut..auch so etwas muss man mal erleben…die beiden Tees mussten wir nicht bezahlen.

There were many errors on the invoice and the communication afterwards was unclear. Too much self-promotion, you were constantly confronted with the boss's face. The food was OK but not extraordinary.

The music was so loud that it gave me a headache, which made it impossible to eat comfortably. Particularly annoying: A fee was charged for music even though there was no live music. I've actually been there several times and given it several chances. Dishes don't taste classically Iranian at all. Kubideh just tasted like bad mince. Mirze ghasemi was more of an omelet with tomatoes instead of an eggplant base. Mahitshe was full of fat, not properly processed and smelled really bad. Not edible at all. Khoresht was full of oil and tasted the same. Chicken dry. Not Iranian but Arabic bread. So absolutely inedible and inauthentic. The worst thing, unfortunately, is the customer service. Very, very unfriendly and snooty. They turn around when someone talks to you. Card payment not possible. Wasn't there anywhere and wasn't communicated. My husband had to go through 5 machines and drove to Mundsburg while we waited there with the children for half an hour, without success. A friendly hint that you should say this beforehand or put a sign somewhere saying that card payment is not possible, especially with a large family, was not welcomed at all. It's not easy to have several hundred euros in your pocket in the 21st century. Instead of an apology, there was a discussion, both from the owner and the waitress. It wasn't so bad that the man had to drive through half of Hamburg, they said. Absolutely bottom drawer. And the rating is actually worded in a friendly way. Food was really disastrous, customer service was unprofessional and toilets sucked. There are no parking spaces either.

The chicken kebab was undercooked on the inside and the pieces of meat were cut too thick, resembling boiled chicken rather than grilled. - Salad bar: A free salad bar was available, but I don't recommend it. The lettuce was poorly washed and full of small flies. The salad plates were also not clean, with visible stains and fingerprints. When I reported this to the restaurant, all I received was an unprofessional "Okay" without an apology. - Additional costs: In the end we charged 3 euros per person for the music. ! I think they got good food and are a bit pricey. What is for a absolute no go is the old man telling you where to sit. The chairs upstairs are uncomfortable. I think it's really rude to have such behavior with your customer.

The musicians and singer were wonderful, creating a lively and joyful Iranian atmosphere with their excellent performance. The Jujeh Kebab was tender, delicate, and flavorful. The Bastani Zaferani had an elegant taste, reminiscent of traditional Iranian ice cream. The Kashko Bademjan and Mirza Ghasemi served as starters were perfectly balanced, offering a delightful blend of slightly sour and smoky flavors. The Zereshk Polo with chicken, though a bit greasy, had a good taste overall.

I went to this restaurant with my wife and son. The quality of the food was very good and pleasant. The attitude of the staff was very respectful and warm. Overall, I recommend this restaurant to my dear friends.

The price-performance ratio is absolutely right and the food is simply delicious. Another highlight is the live music from various artists, which takes place from Friday to Sunday. The best Iranian restaurant in the beautiful city of Hamburg with live music

Trotz Reservierung hatten wir einen Tisch direkt an der Tür, was nicht so schön war. Der Service war gut, das Essen noch besser. Die Livemusik war leider viel zu laut, eine Unterhaltung so gut wie unmöglich.

Don't order African beef They had African things there. Maybe the Persian things taste delicious. Jollof rice was delicious, the beef with it was a disgrace, not only quite little for the price of 13 euros but really the cheapest piece you can get with 30% fat, 30% cartilage and 40% ok prepared meat. So anything that simply has beef in it, as it was the same with fufu, can be pretty much forgotten or I can only advise against it. Fufu smelled and tasted like burnt plastic.

Our last visit to this restaurant was extremely pleasant. The staff was always helpful and extremely nice. We enjoyed the music and found the atmosphere pleasant. We look forward to our next visit!

We are true guests in this very friendly restaurant. The food was very great, there was a lot of choice so everyone could find something for themselves. Portions were sufficient, the taste was great and everyone could decide for themselves whether it was a little hotter or mild. We are completely satisfied.

On our first visit 3 months ago we were thrilled, very tasty food "on point", super friendly service and great live music. On our second visit in January, the food was cold and the service didn't really try hard. On our last visit last Sunday, after asking twice, we were finally served after almost 30 minutes; the service was grumpy and overwhelmed. The food is still good, but it's of no use if the customers stay away at some point. Apparently there is only live music when the shop is full enough, unfortunately there was no music until 4:30 p.m. Chatting with the supposed owner was more important. Unfortunately, appetizers in the sense of sabzi and paneer are no longer available from the house. For us it was the last visit.

I have come here several times to enjoy Iranian food and live music. I enjoyed the quality of the food and the behavior of the staff as well as the Iranian Kashmar liquor along with the live music.👍

The food is really delicious! However, as a word of caution, we were there on a Saturday evening and there was live music & it was very entertaining & like a show & loud. You have to know that! So if you want a quiet evening to chat, you can't do that there on Saturday evening. Otherwise it was an eventful evening.

We held a private party in a hall at the end of November and chose Papaya as the food. In terms of quality and taste, the food, especially the minced meat skewers (kubideh), was really good and juicy. The local contact and the prices were also good. However, I unfortunately have to deduct 2 stars because, on the one hand, we work with an external supplier (private person) who charged €80 delivery fees for a distance of 11 km. On the other hand, when we delivered the food, we discovered that the barberries for the 25 portions of Zereshk Polo had been forgotten. We were told that it was not possible to deliver these later. Accordingly, we were forced to serve rice with chicken, which made us quite uncomfortable in front of our guests! We also found it unpleasant that the chef told the external supplier that we should please tip the kitchen. Conclusion: Eating in a restaurant is recommended, but unfortunately I cannot recommend large orders and catering outside of the house!

Food rarely comes complete or wrong. Today something was missing for the 4th time. I was told on the phone that the bread was in a separate bag and Lieferando didn't pick it up. This is obviously a lie, there was still space in the bag and the amount of bread would not have exceeded this space. They just laughed on the phone and told me I could get as much bread as I wanted. The only reason to order there is that it is the only Persian restaurant on Lieferando in the area. In terms of price, it is also very expensive. The only plus point and the reason for ordering there so often is that the food is very tasty. But in the future I'd rather buy from the competition.

Wir hatten Weihnachtsfeier in diesem Restaurant, es war eigentlich ok, allerdings war die Musik viel zu laut und es hat sehr lange gedauert bis das Essen serviert wurde. Ich persönlich geh da nicht mehr hin.

Papaya hat's echt drauf – wirklich das beste persische Restaurant in der Stadt! Qual der Wahl, ich habe schon die gesamte Karte rauf und runter probiert aber jedes Mal steh ich vor der Herausforderung: Was soll ich bloß nehmen!? Am liebsten einfach alles auf einmal :D ! Schmackhafte Lammfiletstücke, saftige Hühnerflügel oder doch das zarte Rindfleisch? Selbst die veganen und vegetarischen Gerichte hauen einen um. Portionen? Größer als das Leben und die Qualität? Definitiv next level!

Für uns die beste Adresse für authentisches Persisches Essen. Wir kommen sehr gerne ins Papaya, ob mit Freunden oder allein. Das Essen ist auf den Punkt, selbst für Vegetarier und Veganer gibt es eine Auswahl. An den Wochenende wird sogar noch Live-Programm geboten und alle Kulturen sind willkommen - wo hat man das heute noch. Auf die Wünsche für unsere Familinfeier vor Ort wurde professionell eingegangen, sodass wir wirklich einen rundum gelungenen Abend celebrieren konnten. Auch haben wir das Papaya für ein Catering daheim angefragt und unsere Gäste wurden kulinarisch überrascht. Wir sind froh, dass Ihr unseren Stadtteil bereichert.

Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Papaya ist einer meiner Lieblings Restaurants. Das Essen und das Personal sind einfach mega vom Ambiente garnicht zu sprechen einfach ein Traum fühlt man sich direkt wie zu Hause. Wir kommen immer wieder weil wir einfach super zufrieden sind.

Fangen wir beim Essen an es war für mich super zubereitet und war unbeschreiblich lecker. Der Service was sehr aufmerksam freundlich und hatte immer ein Lächeln für jeden Gast übrig. Das Ambiente sticht raus nicht wie andere Restaurants die sehr öde von Stil her sind. Bei den Preisen für Speisen und Getränke muss man nichts sagen es zu gut um wa zu sein. Bei dem Papaya fällt mir nur eines ein Mega Restaurant.

Mit Abstand das beste persische Restaurant in Hamburg! Kann vor allem das Ghorme Zabsi empfehlen. Preise sind auch noch voll angemessen finde ich, ja sie sind teuer, aber für Qualität kann man ruhig zahlen. Vor allem, der einzige Perser in Hamburg, bei dem ich im Anschluss nicht das nächste Klo aufsuchen muss. Am Wochenende ist live Musik. Da muss man vielleicht mal 5 min länger warten, aber das warten lohnt sich. Ach ja, die Cocktails sind der Hit!! Im Großen und Ganzen eine sehr familiäre Stimmung!!! Dieses Restaurant könnte wirklich ein besseres Erlebnis für die Kunden sein, vorausgesetzt, der Sänger vermeidet lautes Singen, die Qualität des Essens verbessert sich, die Kellner und die Küche konzentrieren sich etwas mehr auf Bestellungen. Wir haben verschiedene Gerichte bestellt, aber das Essen eines von uns kam aus Versehen an unseren Tisch. Die Qualität des Kebab Kubideh war ziemlich durchschnittlich und hatte keinen besonderen Geschmack. Tschenjeh war nicht gut durchgebraten, und Zeytun Parvardeh wurden mit minderwertigem Öl zubereitet. Die Stimme des Sängers war gut, aber die Auswahl der Lieder, die er in einem kleinen Raum am oberen Noten des Gesangs ausführen musste, verursachte Kopfschmerzen. Insgesamt hoffen wir, dass diese Probleme behoben werden, damit wir sowohl das Essen als auch die Atmosphäre im Restaurant mehr genießen können.

Das Team hier ist außergewöhnlich herzlich und aufmerksam. Von dem Moment an, als wir das Restaurant betraten, bis zu dem Zeitpunkt, als wir uns verabschiedeten, fühlten wir uns wie geschätzte Gäste. Unsere Bestellungen wurden mit einem Lächeln aufgenommen, und die Empfehlungen des Kellners erwiesen sich als Volltreffer. Was besonders bemerkenswert ist, ist, wie gut das Personal auf unsere individuellen Bedürfnisse einging. Egal, ob es um besondere Ernährungswünsche ging oder um die Empfehlung eines passenden Weins, sie hatten immer die passende Antwort. Die Atmosphäre war einladend, und die Live-Musik sorgte für eine warme und einladende Stimmung. Alles in allem war unser Abend hier ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen, sowohl für die exzellente Küche als auch für den erstklassigen Service!

Ich rate allen ab deren Online Service für Reservierungen und Stornierungen zu nutzen, da sich die Inhaber offensichtlich auch nicht mit ihrem eigenen System auskennen. Ich hatte meinen Tisch online reserviert und musste ewig lange auf die Bestätigung warten. Dann hatte ich meinen Tisch rechtzeitig online storniert und habe einen Tag darauf eine freche SMS erhalten, ich solle das Restaurant nicht mehr kontaktieren, da sie mir zukünftig keinen Tisch mehr geben werden. Wenn man nicht mit dem Online Service umgehen kann, sollte man ihn auch nicht anbieten liebe Freunde. Sorry, dass wir regelmäßig bei Ihnen diniert und Ihnen ständig neue Kunden gebracht haben! Kein Funken Verstand für Business und nachhaltige Kundenbindung. Zum Glück hatte ich einen Screenshot von der Stornierungsbestätigung parat. Man sollte nicht kopflos handeln! Vielleicht nicht nur an den Tagesumsatz denken, sondern schauen wie Sie Ihre Gäste auch langfristig halten können.

Ich lese gerade die Bewertungen und kann mich leider hier anschließen. Die Ambiente ist super und die Musik hervorragend, allerdings manchmal etwas zu laut. Bei dem Service muss was gemacht werden. Wenn es voll wird, sind sie komplett überfordert. Teilweise kommen Essen an, die man nicht bestellt hat. Zu viel oder zu wenig. Die tauchen natürlich immer auf der Rechnung zuviel auf. Uns ist es auch mehrmals aufgefallen. Wir haben es natürlich immer angesprochen. Aber immer hinterher sein, nervt und ärgert uns. Ich verstehe, dass Livemusik zu Mehrkosten führen, aber die Preise sind echt hoch. (Tee, Wasserflaschen die immer da sind). Vielleicht Extrageld für Musik anfordern, dafür die Preise senken.
