Good, authentic Thai food for ok prices. Be careful with the spice level if you are not used to it. A few vegetarian options on the menu but rather limited.

We are always enthusiastic about “Papaya”. Very tasty (and very spicy - be careful). The best sticky mango I've eaten so far (addiction factor 100). A very good, small restaurant.

Soups are really tasty, service is also very nice, but the atmosphere is like a food stall and not as relaxed or quiet as the street is very busy.

The food was quite good especially the shrimp thai fried rice. The chicken with cashew chilli was also quite nice. The portions are pretty massive though!

I have no idea what the others have written...the food was great. There were 7 of us there. Had a whole lot of different dishes. Everything was delicious, authentically Thai and fresh. The furnishings....inconsequential. Price was completely OK.

I think the som tam is very tasty, as are the pad see ew. The soup was very disappointing though, it was nothing like any Thai soup I have had and tasted more like a starchy Chinese-style European take on "make it taste Asian".

Food was ok, but the fried spring rolls!!! I think it's totally bad with rice paper. The worst thing for the first time is fried spring rolls. Apart from the completely bland taste, the dough is not crispy and chewy as if it was not fully fried, had, The fried noodle Pad Thai contains a lot of oil. The taste shouldn't be called padthai. The issue is service!! I can only give 1 star, the ambience is really appealing like the snack shop, the price range is ok for the small portion

06/27/24 Despite our last unpleasant visit to the new Papaya Restaurant by Khun Mar, we visited again this morning because we wanted to test out the breakfast offerings. We ordered pork congee as well as chicken rice soup. The difference is that the congee is thick and made with sticky rice, while the rice soup was literally rice and soup. The fried pastry with condensed milk as a dip costs €5.40 😕 This time it wasn't anything special either, which is why we will refrain from giving this restaurant another chance. *** 06/15/24 As sorry as I am, I cannot recommend the new, small Papaya Restaurant. We ordered 6 dishes, of which only the dessert, sticky rice with mango and the durian-flavored ice cream, was good. It was also extremely loud at the table behind us. However, the staff did nothing about it. The menu consisted of a very large Asian breakfast menu that sounded interesting. I would have preferred to order this rather than the lunch/dinner dishes, which were all very similar. Maybe we'll stop by for breakfast sometime and give the restaurant another chance.

Delicious food but unfortunately no dogs allowed in the restaurant because of the open kitchen. Legally speaking, dogs are allowed in a restaurant, but house rules apply, meaning the restaurant owner doesn't want dogs in the restaurant. Overall everything is good. ;) but not recommended with a dog in winter.

The papaya salad is an absolute must! That alone is worth the trip to Berlin ;) There is a lunch and day menu. And almost every dish is recommended. My favorite Tom Kha and Papaya Salad.

We enjoyed it very much. People were very attentive. We had a great evening.

Food lacked taste and was not great. Service was almost rude. When asking for extra chopped chili got explanation that chili is not needed. Had to ask 4 times and finally got some with a big sigh from the waitress. Wanted to pay with card and got some attitude the second time. This place only takes cash. Convenient that they have a euronet ATM literally next door which takes a 5,95 euro processing fee. Wondering if they get a commission since many customers had to do the same procedure as me.

Not worth the money and the service!! bad service from waiters!! can find better thai food with better taste and better service!! Not recomended at all. You guys need to teach your staff to behave and taking care good of your customer!

We have not been here for a few years (when we spontaneously came in evening in the past - no chance get a table). So today we came for lunch - got a table and were very happy with everything. The food - all three dishes - was delicious, the ladies who served us were very friendly - a very relaxing and comforting experience. Compared to other authentic Thai Restaurants that we have tried in Berlin we like the food here the best. It has lots of fresh herbs and flavours - the price for the dishes is a bit higher but the quality is very good (they use Organics Meat for their dishes). Recommended! Update April 2024: Still very good!

Fast and friendly service even though the store was full. I had the red curry in the Dutch oven. The curry was exactly what I expected: nice spiciness and freshness of the ingredients.

An Thai resturant serving up freshly cooked Thai dishes. The Papaya is well visited and very busy, with limited indoor and outdoor seating. A window through to the kitchen lets you see how the food is prepared and cooked. We had the Thai shrimp red curry and Thai broccoli with crispy pork belly. Just the right level of spicy coconut tang for my taste. If you like spicy Thai food then this is a place you should try but book a table in advance as it is very popular.

Amazing Thai food especially Som tam! If you like ปลาร้า or fermented fish, it’s definitely the place to go in Berlin. The price point was also very good. I'd definitely swing by to this place again if I were to visit Berlin. Can’t recommend enough!

The service really leaves a lot to be desired, late service. The gentleman was friendlier than the blonde lady. The gentleman behind the counter was very accommodating and friendly and helpful! 🍜 I can only recommend soup with noodles and beef. I'm blown away by the best Pho in Kantstr! Padthai noodle with chicken is also very good. There is no music playing so you can have a normal conversation. Sometimes there is a bit of a strong smell coming from the open kitchen. Between 8/13 euros you will get enough here. The soup really impressed me 8/10

If you like Asian cuisine, this is the place for you. A good selection of food. Is near the Wilmersdorferstrasse U7. The prices are OK, not overly expensive. If the weather is nice you can also sit outside. Wish you enjoy your meal.

Macht von aussen und innen nicht viel her, aber sehr nette Bedienung und - grossartiges Essen. Einfach rein und probieren, wenn Platz ist. Reservieren! Empfehlungen sind: Papaya-Salat (egal welcher), die 35 Thod Man Pla "Küchlein aus Fischfleisch" sprich eine Art Fischbulette, die 42 Sai Ur "scharfe Schweinefleischwürstchen" - beides Hammervorspeisen. Hauptgang gab es von der Wochenkarte Gebratenes Huhn mit Erdnusssosse und Sojasprossen und Reis, war super und Pad Kabrau Gai - das ist Chili, Knoblauch gebraten mit gehacktem Hähnchenfleisch und scharfem Basilikum (die 148), einfach grossartig.

I've known Papaya since it opened what feels like 20 years ago. I don't know what better I could get in Berlin.

Papaya Restaurant Thailand offers extremely delicious dishes accompanied by friendly service at an affordable price. I recommend making a table reservation, especially at peak times and on weekends. In my opinion it is the best restaurant in Berlin.

Real flop. The menu is not entirely Thai at all. Classic Thai dishes were missing and there were also dishes that are not common in Thailand at all. I felt like it was a remix of Thai and other Asian cuisine. The red curry I ordered only tasted like coconut milk. Everything was missing spices. It was far too bland and bland. The vegetables were the cheapest ever. Cabbage strips 80 percent and the remaining 20 percent consisted of 2-3 carrot strips, 2-3 florets of broccoli and 2-3 champions. Vegetarian red curry usually contains peppers and green beans. The spring roll was the same. It wasn't prepared Thai style at all. The filling only consisted of Chinese cabbage and morels and probably glass noodles. The curry came to the place in a kind of pot that you could then scoop from. It looked nice but I've never experienced it in Thailand. They also have Matsaman Curry on the menu. But that means Massaman. So I have no idea, but it's not Thai.

There are a couple of very good Thai restaurants on the Kant str so it took me a couple of visits to Papaya to realize that this is a very good restaurant with amazing food. The fish are always very good, but I can't think of a dish that would disappoint me. Reservations are recommended - this place is usually full. Cash only!

The photos don't do it justice. We had 20 pieces of sushi after this dinner due to the small portion. The taste was okay. Maybe we didn't know how to order 😅

Authentic stuff. It’s spicy for sure but that’s what it’s supposed to be. I loved everything but the spicy pork sausage was impressive. Also the whole fried fish. PROTIP: bring a Gewürztraminer or an off dry white wine and pay corkage, amazing pairing.

Der Eigentümer verkündet in den Medien, dass er die Rücknahme der Aussetzung der reduzierten MwSt nun zum Anlass nehmen müsse, um die Preise zu erhöhen. Dabei scheint er nicht zu berücksichtigen, dass die reduzierte MwSt als Corona-Unterstützung der Gastronomie galt. Im Grunde dürften sich in diesem Zusammenhang nun die Preise nicht erhöhen, jedoch scheint sich die Gastronomie an die Mehreinnahmen durch die MwSt-Absenkung gewöhnt zu haben und möchte auch in Zukunft nicht auf diesen Bonus verzichten. Seitens des Besitzers wird die reduzierte MwSt als Ausgleich für gestiegene Preise gesehen und sollte deshalb seiner Meinung nach beibehalten werden. Ich finde es nicht okay, nun die Normalisierung der MwSt für die Durchsetzung höherer Preise zu nutzen. Wenn die allgemeinen Kosten für den Einkauf von Lebensmitteln steigen, muss eine Preisanhebung unabhängig von der MwSt-Regelung erfolgen. Aber hier nun die MwSt-Politik für den Anstieg der Restaurantpreise verantwortlich zu machen liegt also neben der Sache. Schade, dass es den Gästen und der Öffentlichkeit falsch vermittelt wird.

Authentische thailändische Küche ohne Kompromisse. Scharf ist scharf, hier wird nichts 'entwürzt' bis es mit dem Original nichts mehr zu tun hat. Der Service ist effizient, im Sommer kann man gut auf dem Bürgersteig essen. Empfehlung.

Ist lecker und erinnert an Thailand

Zum zweiten Mal hier, ich hätte mich genauer erkundigen sollen, was es ist, was auf der Karte steht. Denn einmal war es lecker, aber eben auch einmal völlig daneben gegriffen. Bei den Fischgerichten bitte aufpassen, was ihr bestellen wollt, besser nachfragen.

Dit essen schmeckt ganz gut, leider ist es zu voll & extrem laut. Ansonsten gibt's nichts zu meckern

Im Papaya gibt es authentische Thai-Küche. Qualitativ wirklich hervorragend. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Der Service ist klasse. Wir waren am Sonntag Abend das erste Mal dort. Uns hat das bestellte Essen -unter anderem Som Tam Ped und Nudelsuppe- so überzeugt, dass wir gestern Abend nochmals in das Papaya gegangen sind. Wir haben es nicht bereut. Es war wieder hervorragend.

It's quite pricy but not really good quality. We were there after Thai park. Chicken roll with Pandan was still raw. After we complained, they changed a new dish for us. Lastly, one auntie asked, how was it? We told her the food was nice, but it was just chicken roll. It should be more careful as it's chicken. I have not even finished my word, she suddenly said with high tone that it's already changed new dish. Yes, it is, but you asked for feedback, so better tried to say in a nicer way. We were not ok with her reaction and without even apologizing for that.

Perfekt: das sehr schmackhafte Essen mit klasse Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Service freundlich und schnell. Ambiente ok. Gravierendes Manko (für uns): nicht Akzeptanz von Kredit- und EC-Karte, die Kunden werden raus in den Regen zum Geldautomaten geschickt. Das muss doch wohl heutzutage nicht sein, speziell wenn die Serviceleistungen ansonsten so gut sind!

Guter Laden,um kurz zum Mittag zu essen. Positiv keine nervige Musik im Hintergrund, viele nice ex Königsfotos in schwarz/ Weiß mit seiner Frau. Essen leider s e h r Fleischlastig oder Fischlastig, für vegetarische Freunde auch was dabei. Bedienung sehr langsam& eher genervt von der Masse der Kunden..Preisleistungsverhältnis viel zu teuer, für die geringe Menge an Essen, zu teuersten die schon 19% Mehrwertsteuer in d. Rechnung. Mehrweggeschirr wird n i c h t ausgehändigt= Green washing, das Fleisch ist nicht immer Bio! Steht aber auf d. Karte!

Essen ist Weltklasse. Nur mit bestellten und reservierten Tischen gibt es schon einmal Probleme. Da muss das Servicepersonal und vor allem die Dame am Telefon bei der Reservierung noch Einiges lernen. Ansonsten sind wir vom Essen geflasht.

Das Pad Kaprau Gai war hervorragend, vor allem die Möglichkeit, die Schärfe individuell zu wählen. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Preise waren fair für die gebotene Qualität. Insgesamt eine empfehlenswerte Erfahrung.

Essen ist lecker aber teurer als beim Konkurrenten in der Kantstraße. Allgemein kam das Essen schnell und es wurde darauf geachtet, ob wir was bestellen wollten aber sonst gab es keine weitere Interaktion wie ich es normalerweise von anderen Servicen(Konkurrent war da leider auch besser) kenne

Hervorragendes Essen, auf Sonderwünsche (betreffs Nahrungsmittel-Unverträglichkeiten) geht das freundliche Personal verständnisvoll ein. Vor für europäische Gaumen mitunter zu scharfem Essen wird gewarnt:) Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Mieszkaliśmy w pobliżu, więc wybraliśmy się tu zachęceni dobrymi opiniami na Google. Nie zawiedliśmy się uczciwe tajskie jedzenie. Trzeba wcześniej rezerwować stolik nam, dopiero w trzecim podejściu udało się dostać do środka.

Sehr leckeres authentisches Essen zu angemessenen Preisen. Mein Gericht war wie in Thailand, auch mit der entsprechenden Schärfe. Bekamen auch ohne Reservierung einen Platz für 2, Essen kam zügig und war echt gut. Bei Vorspeisen und Hauptgericht blieben keine Wünsche offen.

Wir saßen draußen und es war sehr nett (gibt’s wärmlichte) aber es kommt zu längeren Wartezeiten, da der Laden immer sehr voll ist. Das Essen was top!

Das Essen ist okay, aber kein Highlight. Das grüne Curry mit Huhn war Standard, der Fleischanteil gering(er als früher). Es war voll und einige Tische waren reserviert. Allerdings erst für eine halbe bis Stunde später, so dass, wenn man ein bisschen Flexibilität gezeigt hätte, wir nicht hätten warten müssen. Das „Servicegefühl“ war, dass man sich nicht wirklich um uns bemüht hat. Waren kurz davor, wieder zu gehen. Da wir aber schon öfter im Papaya waren, hatten wir etwas mehr Geduld.

Super freundlich. Das Essen ist absolut super. Meiner Meinung nach gibt es hier den besten Papaya Salad.

Hammer, authentisch und einfach Lecker. Hier stimmt einfach alles..Service, Geschmack und am Ende sogar der Preis. Hier ist es Wert ganz besonders zum Essen zu gehen.

Проходили поряд і помітили цей ресторан. Було багато людей і смачно пахло. Офіціантка швидко знайшла нам столик та була привітна. Меню не дуже зрозуміле не вистачає зображень блюд. Вибір великий. Ціни дуже приємні. Напої нам принесли за 3 хвилини. Блюда менше ніж за 10 хвилин. Все було дуже смачно. Порції були великі. Якщо не дуже голодний то одного блюда вистачить на двох. Оплата картою не працює.

Ich habe Asthma und kann nicht sehr scharf Essen. Als ich bestellt habe, habe ich extra gesagt, bitte nicht so scharf. Ich kann nicht verstehen, wie könnte man trotzdem 16 Stück Chili in die Soße reinmachen. Ich habe das Essen in die Küche zurück geschickt, die Soße kommt mit 12 Stück Chili zurück, man hat bisschen Cocosmilch nur dazu gegeben... so was von egaaaal sind die Meinungen von den Kunden in diesem Laden. Wir haben früher sehr oft da gegessen, war immer sehr lecker und nie war chili in der Rote Curry Soße. Die Qualität vom Essen hat hier seeeehr viel nachgelassen. Das ist so schade... Wir waren zu 5 da und alle haben gesagt nie wieder in diesem Restaurant. Uns ging allen schlecht nach dem Essen. Soooo viel chili alle gegessen haben. Wenn Sie Herzkrank sind, Finger weg vom diesem Restaurant.

First time trying the raw beef, weird but tasty for me, especially with the spicy sauce included! Curry was good, tasty with rice. I love the coconut shake! Love it!

Authentische Küche: Scharf heißt scharf. Das Team hilft bei Bedarf gerne bei der Auswahl von Gerichten; eigentlich kann man aber hier nichts falsch machen: die Gerichte sind frisch, lecker und gut. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Tipp: Die Tom Kha Gung ist mild und lecker. Zum Pad Kaprau Gai oder Nueah noch ein Spiegelei dazu bestellen - einfach lecker.

Eén van de beste Thai restaurants die ik buiten Thailand al bezocht heb! Je vindt er authentieke gerechten, verrassende suggesties en je moet zelfs op zoek naar de Pad Thai op de kaart. Oh en het is pikant, let op.
