Appetizer platter was good Unfortunately, the Margherita pizza had an incredible amount of cheese on it, and then there was also parmesan and tomato pieces? Overall, unfortunately it didn't suit my taste at all and it was far too watery Gnocchi salmone tasted strongly of garlic, which could perhaps be noted on the menu.

We had dinner here on the evening of the 3rd Advent weekend and had made reservations, otherwise we would probably have been unlucky. We were greeted warmly and ordered, among other things, baked feta, pizza prosciutto e fungi and pizza with truffles, along with soda, wine and water. Everything tasted good (the truffle pizza had a bit too much truffle oil on it, but otherwise good) and we both couldn't finish the pizzas because they are really huge, so we took the rest home with us. We liked it - the price-performance ratio was absolutely fine and we'd love to come back again. We were particularly impressed by the super nice service. Two thumbs up!

Eines vorweg. Wer bei dem Namenszusatz „Mediterrane Küche“ mehr als Pizza und Pasta erwartet, wird enttäuscht. Das ändert aber nichts daran, dass das Essen sehr gut und auch reichhaltig ist. Das schöne Ambiente und die freundliche, aufmerksame Bedienung runden den positiven Eindruck ab. Gerne wieder.

Wir hatten einen wirklich netten Abend. Der Service war aufmerksam und unkompliziert. Wir waren etwas früher dran für unsere Reservierung und der Tisch war noch belegt, aber wir haben die Wartezeit mit einem Aperitif an der Bar überbrückt. Das tat der Stimmung keinen Abbruch. Das Essen war frisch zubereitet und mengenmässig absolut ausreichend. Unsere Freunde hatten Pizzen, die über den Tellerrand gingen. Pasta und Gnocci waren ebenfalls sehr lecker. Durch die hohe Deckenhöhe ist das Lokal eher laut und hallig. Das Besucherklientel ist eher jünger einzustufen.

I have already been able to try out and visit many restaurants around the world. However, Papageno is right up there with my absolute favorite stores. If you are looking for incredibly delicious Mediterranean cuisine combined with first-class service, you have come to the right place. The food impresses not least with its quality, but also with its taste. Admittedly, I'm not a big pizza fan. However, the “Speciale” always takes me to this unique restaurant, which is located in a former wine barn. You can tell: people cook with love here. The employees are very friendly, courteous and have a feeling for the needs of the guest. The Papgeno clearly distinguishes itself from many other restaurants with a focus on “Mediterranean cuisine”.

During my stay in beautiful Regensburg I came across this wonderful and lovingly decorated restaurant. I immediately noticed the extremely good service and immediately made me feel at home. I can warmly recommend the vegan dishes in particular. The pizzas are super delicious!! Many thanks to the entire team for this lovely evening. The Papageno is now a must on my next visits to Regensburg, which makes the whole trip even more unforgettable :)

Unfortunately I had salmonella after eating and was in the hospital... the health department couldn't do anything about it. At least the ambience is nice

The atmosphere is charming and cozy, perfect for a relaxing evening. The service is attentive and warm, so you feel comfortable from the first minute. Whether for a romantic dinner or a special occasion like in our case the Christmas party – the Papageno impresses across the board!

Ambience and service as always great. Always attentive and the location is simply great. In my opinion, the pizzas have too many toppings, so from now on I will concentrate on the pasta dishes.

Papageno - a classic in Regensburg that will satisfy everyone. It is definitely advisable to reserve in advance here. Papageno is a very good Italian restaurant where every person will find the right dish. From starters to desserts, everything is absolutely delicious, and the waiters are friendly and accommodating. The high, old ceilings, the view into the kitchen and the rustic furnishings make you feel right at home. The highlight: There are vegan and gluten-free options!

Really nice place. Were there for the first event. Proud prices, but also good food. Unfortunately, the waitress made a faux pas by spilling a glass of water on one of my fellow students, but she reacted calmly and professionally and offered him a free drink as compensation. All in all, it's a great location, but it's definitely not suitable for organizational matters, as the volume is correspondingly high due to the good visitor rate.

Cheeky service EDIT: No NAUGHTY!

Oh well... The restaurant was recommended to us by relatives. When the two of us were nearby, we spontaneously tried it out. Sunday evening 6 p.m., no reservation, so bad for us but as we all know, asking doesn't cost anything. Again, as expected, we were still assigned a place. After we had to change our table again, ordering went smoothly and the drinks and appetizers came relatively quickly. Bruschetta was also good in taste. After about 30 minutes and asking, we were told our main course (2 pizzas) were already in the oven and would arrive immediately. When we had actually already finished after another 25 minutes and questions, we were served our pizzas. Both pizzas were lukewarm (they were actually in the oven 25 minutes ago...). The dough was good but unfortunately no longer crispy. The salami pizza was dripping with fat, the salami was, well, not very Mediterranean (more like a supermarket brand). Pizza al Salmone, on the other hand, tasted impeccable. After we asked for payment 3 times, “the billing” came, as the waiter so beautifully put it. However, when I presented my constructive criticism in a friendly manner, we were clearly rebuffed: It was our own fault that they couldn't have served us adequately because we hadn't made a reservation; they would have expected fewer guests today. And would we have preferred to be rejected? (yes, we would have preferred that...) Apparently it was the boss's order to fill all the seats, even if there wasn't enough capacity to serve these guests. Quantity over quality. Unfortunately not worth a second visit for us.

Very nice atmosphere. The pasta was delicious as was the dessert. Very friendly waiters with a smile on their faces. For this meal and service, the price was unbeatable.

No matter price or taste are much much better than the other Italian restaurants. And the service is excellent which is nothing like a restaurant in Germany 😂

Big disappointment! We had to wait for our pastas for a zillion of years and then saw table next to us, who arrived later than us, got their pastas first. We complained and the excuses were pathetic. When our food finally arrived, my pasta was already clumped together. There was no way to enjoy the restaurant at the moment. My husband sent the food back and that was it.

No chance without a reservation. Mass processing and staff unfriendly

We were recommended to go hereby the Hotel Bischofshof receptionist as a good place to go on a cold and windy night. The r restaurant is ten minutes walk west of the old bridge and you enter through an unprepossessing doorway - we would have missed it if not for the gaggle of smokers outside. In the lobby there were about eight people waiting for tables but as we had booked we went straight into the packed restaurant. The friendly waitress who spoke great English led us through the young crowd to a nice table in the corner. We were given the menus (English translation under the German) and chose fried sardines (translated as anchovies and actually turned out to be Whitebait) and baked feta with olives as starters along with a bottle of Chianti. The whitebait arrived soon after and turned out to be a massive plate piled with fish, a small bowl of mayo and some salad - it was easily enough for two sharing - they were slightly breaded and large and juicy. Just as we were finishing when the baked feta arrived- beautifully seasoned and very rich - delicious and very filling. It was with trepidation that we waited for our main courses - the house pizza (Parma ham, Parmesan and mozzarella), Ravioli with tomato and bean filling in a tomato sauce and a mixed side salad. We were presented with a huge bowl of very fresh salad, easily enough for a starter, then the pizza which turned ou5to be about 35cm in diameter, easily enough for two, and a massive bowl of ravioli. The food was freshly cooked and delicious but clearly far too much to eat in one session - we noticed people leaving with doggy bags! The message about Papaguyo is book early - it is very busy; don’t over order - it did not say on the menu but lots of people had half pizzas, and enjoy a great evening!

The antipasti starter is highly recommended. As a main course we had pasta twice. A bit boring in taste and soaked in way too much oil. The service is friendly, but we had to wait a long time for our orders. Conclusion: OK, but we wouldn't go there a second time.

Waited almost 2 hours for a pizza - the waiting time was regretted several times - compensation was supposed to be the sharing of the price - the dessert - which we didn't want at all. We then paid for our drinks and left without eating. It's a shame about the waiting time!

Unfortunately we had to cancel a table at short notice. Our main person had a circulatory collapse due to the weather, which is why we were unable to make the reservation. When I called to release the table (even though it was apparently reserved for 2 hours) I was allowed to be so insulted by this extremely unprofessional lady on the phone that I didn't even have the opportunity to mention the reason because she just hung up :DD. I can absolutely understand that canceling a reservation at short notice causes a certain amount of annoyance. But it's hard for me to imagine that the table couldn't be given away again at 6 p.m. on a Saturday evening.

Homemade lemonade was super refreshing, pasta with lemon butter and/or mushrooms was heavenly delicious! Some of the dishes on the menu definitely entice us to come back and try them out. Gladly again ♡ heartily recommended!!!

I do not know where to start! Starting from the easy online reservation to the friendly reception. Great antipasti, great main dishes and drinks! We sat on the terrace and enjoyed it so much! A warm recommendation!!! And it’s affordable too!

Super delicious food, the waitresses were incredibly quick and friendly. Absolutely okay in terms of price. We recommend that you sit outside as it is a bit louder inside due to the design of the building.

What is particularly noteworthy is that the entire staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was very, very good. The price is totally okay and the “portion” too. We will come back because we felt really welcome and comfortable.

Pizzeria Papageno is definitely one of the best pizzerias I have ever visited. The pizzas are delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The dough is crispy and the toppings are generous. The pasta dishes are also very tasty and authentic. The atmosphere in the pizzeria is cozy and inviting. The staff is friendly and attentive, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. The prices are reasonable for the quality offered. Overall, I have always had a great experience at Papageno and can fully recommend this pizzeria. An absolute must for all pizza lovers!

--- If you value delicious food, you'll have to go somewhere else. Dough and toppings are simply bland and not tasty. It's a shame, that used to be our favorite restaurant. Probably there is a new chef/pizza maker? The service was also unfriendly when I answered "no" when asked if everything was tasty. “What was wrong with you?” was asked in a very cheeky tone. I listed everything, especially that the bufala on the pizza was not buffalo mozzarella (100% cheap supermarket mozzarella). It's disappointing. You pay so much for a dish and you can't even eat a third of it.

Last night we had the dubious pleasure of visiting PAPAGENO in Regensburg, a restaurant that proudly advertises “Mediterranean cuisine”. However, our reservation for four people at 6:45 p.m. didn't seem to impress the staff much, as we were initially squeezed into a table for two at 6:42 p.m. - despite having a reservation. After the next table became available, we were finally able to switch just before our friends arrived. Timing is everything, right? The PAPAGENO advertises “Mediterranean cuisine”. But don't let that mislead you, because there isn't much Mediterranean cuisine there. It's just a standard Italian dish. That's a bit like a bookstore claiming to be an "international bookstore" just because it has a thousand German books and two French crime novels on its shelf. Our order consisted of two pasta and two pizza dishes. After an acceptable wait of 20-30 minutes, two Tagliatelle di Manzo were brought to us, even though we had only ordered one. The waitress looked like a deer in headlights, bringing in backup in the form of an apparently crisis-ridden manager who approached us with body language that practically screamed “Do you want stress?” His curt comment, “It says di Manzo twice,” left my girlfriend in a mix of confusion and uncertainty. She almost doubted herself and considered accepting the wrong dish. The Surf n Turf pizza was a bad joke. The menu promised “giant shrimp,” but four sad, thumb-sized shrimp were served. It felt like you had booked a “luxury spa” and gotten a foot bath in the sink. Ironically, my friend actually had huge shrimp on her plate with her Spaghetti Frutti di Mare. But an apology? A gesture of regret? None. Instead, my friend had to defend his pizza from an invasion of green flesh flies—a disgusting sight that would have scared off even hardened entomologists. In terms of taste, the food was an epic “meh”. My tagliatelle di manzo was a tasteless mass that was reminiscent of grandma's stale Sunday roast - not in a nostalgic sense, but in a horrible sense. The others also found their food mediocre at best. Nobody said it was tasty. Our ratings: Food 3/5, Service 1/5, Ambience 3/5. Mistakes can happen, but the provocative way guests are treated here is inexcusable. Here the motto “The customer is king” seems to be a distant memory of better days.

Wir waren mit der Familie im Papageno. Essen war top, aber das drumherum hat nicht so gepasst. Wir waren angemeldet mit 10 Personen , davon 1 Rollstuhl und 2 Kinderstühle. Alles war so eng in der Ecke gestellt , dass ein gemütliches Geburtstagsessen undenkbar war. Wenn ich weiß, dass so eine größere Gesellschaft kommt , mit Rollstuhl und 2 Kinderstühlen, dann plant man anders. Zumal man nicht gerade wenig Geld dalässt als Kunde. Leider war die ausgeschriebene rollstuhlgerechteToilette keine wirklich gerechte Toilette. Es wurden in die vorhanden Toiletten 2 Griffe montiert und mehr nicht . Der Rollstuhl des Geburtsgskindes passte nicht durch die Tür der engen Toilette. Somit mussten wir früher das Restaurant verlassen. Das war sehr unschön

I'm very disappointed, the pizzas and the bruschetta were totally over salted. There are also hardly any vegan/vegetarian dishes, which is a shame. The waitresses were very friendly except for an older blonde lady with short hair.

We visit the Papageno Mediterranean Coast in Regensburg at irregular intervals and still count ourselves as regular customers. This restaurant has established itself as a reliable address for us when it comes to Mediterranean cuisine. The food at Papageno is consistently solid. The dishes are tastefully prepared and always fresh. We particularly like the varied starters and main courses, which always impress with a Mediterranean touch. The quality of the food is consistently high and we have never been disappointed. The prices are OK. You definitely get something for your money here without breaking the bank. A small point of criticism is sometimes the speed of the service. Occasionally you have to wait a little longer for your order. But the waiting time is more than made up for by the quality of the food. The staff is friendly and helpful, even if things can get a little hectic at times. An absolute highlight is the bread basket, which should be on the table as standard. The bread is always fresh and tastes great. It is a great addition to the Mediterranean dishes and makes a visit to Papageno even more pleasant. Unfortunately, this is not always available and is available at an additional cost. We always enjoy coming here and can recommend the Papageno Mediterranean Coast to anyone who is looking for good Mediterranean cuisine in Regensburg. The restaurant has not disappointed us so far and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

I had a Band-Aid in my salad!!!

We went to the “Biergarten” last week (even twice) and once shared a pizza with two types and it really tasted great! We also noticed the friendliness of the service staff, which gave us a great stay and made us very happy. That’s what makes good gestromomy!

We spontaneously went to Papageno today and were very excited. The food was soooo delicious (spaghetti with sea bream, lime butter, capers and artichokes) and the staff were exceptionally friendly and on the ball, but without being intrusive. We will be back definitely!

First of all, service was very attentive and friendly, the rooms were also a dream - unfortunately the "hui effect" doesn't last long when the food is served because everything tastes very neutral. It's a shame, we used to eat out more often, but now the cooking has slacked off a bit and more focus is placed on the presentation than on the taste of the dish. Or so it seems

Always worth a visit, I love eating pizza here. Yummy! On weekends it may happen that there is no table. Better reserve. Even after four years, it's still one of my favorite pizza places. Here you sit inside in a very lovingly designed restaurant. There are also a few seats outside. Wonderful ambience, good service and very good pizzas.

A lovely culinary experience! The staff in the restaurant were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, which made the visit particularly pleasant right from the start. The fresh, crisp salad, followed by excellently prepared, homemade pasta with seafood. Finally, an aromatic espresso that set just the right tone. Clean and well-kept atmosphere right on the water. Keep it up.

Nice ambience and outstanding service. I was there yesterday with a colleague and had a salad as a starter and a vegan pizza. The salad was fresh and very well prepared. The bread that comes with it is a poem. Pizza was good, I would have liked a little more green on the pizza, carrots and pumpkin didn't quite suit my taste. (Since there was no explicit selection of a vegan pizza, I didn't know what to expect with a vegetable pizza & hadn't had one with these two ingredients, among others.) If I come back to Regensburg, I will come back to Papageno. Hopefully with 1-2 vegan creations on the menu. :) Despite the not very cheap prices and the pizza that didn't suit my taste 100%, I give it 5 stars. The service is really on point and more than deserves the 5 stars. :)

Simply bombastic from start to finish

A short-term online reservation on Saturday evening worked perfectly; sitting on the terrace was great when the weather was nice. The service is very attentive and super friendly. The food matches the excellent overall impression: very tasty, plentiful and the price-performance ratio is also right! We had bruschetta, antipasti plate and tagliatelle gamberini, all very tasty.

Obwohl das Lokal sehr gut besucht war und wir wegen mehr Gästen einen größeren Tisch brauchten, wurde das schnell und unkompliziert gelöst. Obwohl es auf der Speisekarte keine Calzone gab, wurde trotzdem eine für mich gemacht (weil ich praktisch nur Calzone-Pizzen esse), und sie schmeckte gut. Zum Trinken gibt es neben vielen Rotweinen eines der besten Weißbiere der Welt, Herrnbräu Ingolstadt. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend, über das Essen fand jeder nur gute Worte. (Pasta, Salate oder Pizzen). Tolle Bedienung!
