Trattoria Sorano in Regensburg

Die Gerichte sind vorzüglich und zwar von Antipasti über Pizza bis zu Fleischspeisen. Das Personal ist super freundlich, das Ambiente im Innenbereich lässt leider ziemlich zu wünschen übrig, dafür ist es im Außenbereich um so netter.

Es war so toll!! Essen super lecker, Ambiente sehr schön und der Service exzellent. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Unfortunately, the air conditioning or the window on the first floor caused us both to catch a cold.

We had our Christmas party at Sorano and it was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious, the team was incredibly warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was truly pleasant. Excellent food, a very cozy atmosphere, and very friendly and fast service. The only downside: the daily menu featured a special Margherita pizza, which was €3 more expensive than the usual. We didn't notice any difference. They were both next to each other at our table ;-). Otherwise, a definite recommendation.

We found the pricing of the drinks rather unfamily-friendly: a 0.33l soda costs €4.60 and a 0.33l beer costs €4.00. Even water, at €4.30, is more expensive than alcohol, as only 0.4l is available. A small addendum due to the owner's rude response: Section 6 of the Restaurant Act: "At least one non-alcoholic beverage may not be served at a higher price than the cheapest alcoholic beverage. The price comparison is also based on the extrapolated price for a liter of the beverage in question." It would have been possible, regardless of any laws, to take the criticism to heart and reduce the price of a non-alcoholic beverage...

Great restaurant! The antipasti misti were delicious and varied, and the Neapolitan pizza was outstanding: light and airy dough, great flavor. Friendly and very attentive service and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended! I love coming here again and again. The prices are reasonable, as the quality is good!🍕

The Trattoria Sorano is a new classic in Regensburg. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor seating area and a lively, upbeat interior with friendly service. The traditional Italian food is delicious and presented with great attention to detail. The ragu was a highlight for us. Reservations are recommended, as it can get busy every day of the week! We've been coming back for years!

Absolutely loved this place! 🍕 The Spritz was super refreshing and one of the best I’ve had, the pizza was delicious with a perfect crust and fresh toppings, and the interior design is just stunning!

The food itself is very tasty, but the staff and service still need to be improved.

The pizza dough is extremely thin, so you have to like it that way – it's not my thing. There's not much topping either, but it's very expensive. Tastes okay.

Very good 👍 😊👏We celebrated my husband's birthday here, and it was simply wonderful! I asked the young waiter if he could perhaps prepare a little surprise with a cake and a candle – and he did it so warmly. The staff were incredibly kind, fulfilled my wish immediately, and made the moment extra special. When the cake and candle arrived, the entire restaurant even sang "Happy Birthday" – it was truly unforgettable! Many thanks to the entire team for this wonderful surprise and the warm atmosphere. We would love to come back!

The lasagna was a complete letdown. There was no trace of Béchamel or Ragù - just layers of cheese with pasta sheets that were raw and hard to chew. The only meat element was a small spoonful of Bolognese sauce thrown on top, while the inside was nothing more than plain, sometimes undercooked, pasta. The result was dry, heavy, and simply unacceptable for such a classic dish. Although the staff was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant, the food should always be the main reason to visit a restaurant. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend it.

The dishes are really good, and the portions are perfect, so you can even order a side dish or dessert! The atmosphere is pleasant, but quite loud, and the tables are a bit too close together. The service is friendly and offered good recommendations. However, I was not served once while waiting at the bar for a takeaway order (I ordered a cocktail, which would have been my last before pregnancy, which made it all the more sad 😅). The next time I called at 9:33 PM to ask if I could order something to eat at 9:45 PM, but they said they were "cleaning the kitchen because it closes at 10 PM."

We happened upon the Sorano for dinner by chance, as we were staying at the Hotel Louis across the street. I highly recommend it to everyone. The friendliness of the staff, both in the hotel and in the restaurant, is hard to beat. The food exceeded our expectations; the pizzas were delicious, and the octopus was cooked to perfection. I forgot my jacket in the restaurant and emailed them from home a day later. I received an immediate reply saying it had been found and would be sent to me. When I asked about a refund, they told me it was the hotel's service and I didn't need to pay anything. Great, thanks so much to Leo (the jacket arrived). We will definitely come back on our next visit to Regensburg!

Pizza was okay, drinks were massively overpriced, service was not good. No one came to ask if we wanted another drink, but the restaurant was almost empty. Luckily, I had already ordered two drinks at the beginning, otherwise I would have died of thirst. -> Rudely commenting on guest reviews doesn't make the situation any better ;) Fact: There were no requests for drinks in 2.5 hours. Fact: A guest with a walker had to squeeze past a stroller to get to the bathroom several times; my warnings were ignored by neither the responsible guests nor the staff. Until I angrily pushed the stroller aside – then it had to go. Strollers go in front of people with disabilities. A disgrace!

At some point, the rip-off of table water in Germany must be clearly addressed. For us, it's the case here at Sorano. The food is really good. But due to the price of table water, this restaurant is now history after several visits. In other European countries, water is available at reasonable prices. Please explain these exorbitant prices to us.

Very tasty dishes. A large selection. The pizzas are very large and fairly priced. A large beer garden, always well-filled on my evening visits. Plenty of friendly and attentive staff. About a 20-minute walk from the cathedral.

Very tasty pizzas. The lasagna wasn't that good. It seemed like it had just been microwaved. But otherwise, it was excellent. The young waiter was attentive and friendly. A misreading when taking the order in the kitchen was acknowledged and immediately corrected with an apologetic cappuccino. Very remarkable.

A nice Italian restaurant that advertises its desire to recapture the romantic charm of times gone by. Well, okay. Nicely decorated, but reservations are advisable. The food was generally okay; we had the impression that it was a bit prefabricated. The extremely friendly service and the bottle of Santagostino (Sicily) that we had with our main course saved it.

There were two of us dining, and yes, we paid almost three figures, BUT: we each had an appetizer, a main course, at least two cocktails each (I've already bought the glasses because I thought they were so good), and we were also AFK. Sounds like a lot, but we ordered a lot. And it was worth every cent. Delicious, friendly staff, and the other guests weren't annoying either; everything was top-notch.

The pizza was okay, but the pasta dishes and parmigiana for the main course were disappointing. Service was attentive but overwhelmed. The wait for food was almost 45 minutes...and not everything came at the same time. Yes, it was busy, but still.

Trattoria Sorano is one of the few restaurants in Regensburg where you can tell from the first bite that they take quality seriously. The olive oil? Top-notch. Fruity, with a slightly spicy finish. Just the way it should be. The bread comes warm, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I could easily celebrate it as an appetizer. The lasagna was perfectly layered, not too greasy, a generous portion, rich tomato sauce, and the meat delicately seasoned. It was really enjoyable. The Parma e Bufala pizza was the highlight for me. Airy crust, thin base, and perfectly cooked. The Parma cheese was beautifully tender, the buffalo mozzarella creamy and aromatic. The bottom line: No frills, just honest, good food.

Indeed the best italian Pizza and Pasta in town. Perfect al fresco dining 🍷🍕🍝♥️

Super tasty & beautiful outdoor area

Well, I have to honestly say I've been there once with my girlfriend and have tried a lot of restaurants in Regensburg, and this is by far the best pizza I've ever eaten. You get truly authentic Italian pizzas there, and whatever you order tastes fantastic. Despite the prices, they're worth the 5 stars. I would recommend anyone who hasn't been there yet to go. I give the whole concept an excellent rating.

Sehr schöner italienischer Abend in Regensburg im Garten.

Looking for a small Italian dinner (since I didn't want to eat at the hotel) I ended up at Trattoria Sorano. I got a table straight away. The service was incredibly attentive and friendly. The Vitello Tonato appears small on the plate, but is much more and completely sufficient. Plus it tastes very good! The large mixed salad with strawberry vinegar sauce was really tasty. Pizza bread was served as a starter, free of charge. Very thoughtfully, I was given a (free) grappa with my espresso, which wasn't really a given either. The noise level is slightly higher due to the somewhat bare but stylish walls. But I found it rather good because it reminded me of a real Italian trattoria 😁. I will definitely come back and look forward to good, down-to-earth (in a positive sense) cuisine! Many thanks to the team!

Die neapolitanische Margherita mit Sardinen und Kapern war ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis – wunderbar ausgewogener Belag, perfekt abgestimmt. Der Rand war herrlich knusprig, genau so, wie man es sich bei einer authentischen Pizza wünscht. Für uns definitiv die beste Pizza in Regensburg! Beim nächsten Besuch in der Stadt ist ein weiterer Stopp hier garantiert. Weiter so!

This trattoria is on the edge of the old town, the location is rather mediocre, but the food is good. Prices are rather high, but you get good quality and delicious food, and the service is very friendly. When the weather is good you can also sit outside in a kind of beer garden. In its style it is really reminiscent of Italian trattorias

Definitely recommendable in terms of ambiance and service, but the value for money for the Parmigiano di Melanzane was not at all right. The main course was a starter portion and truly marginal. At €15, it was also far too expensive. I left the restaurant hungry, unfortunately. It's a shame, because it's otherwise a great place.
