We found the drink pricing rather unfamily-friendly: a 0.33l soda costs €4.60, a 0.33l beer costs €4.00. Even water, at €4.30, is more expensive than alcohol, since it's only available in 0.4l bottles. You wouldn't find this in Italy.

Great restaurant! The antipasti misti were delicious and varied, and the Neapolitan pizza was outstanding: light and airy dough, great flavor. Friendly and very attentive service and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended! I love coming here again and again. The prices are reasonable, as the quality is good!🍕

The Trattoria Sorano is a new classic in Regensburg. The restaurant has a lovely outdoor seating area and a lively, upbeat interior with friendly service. The traditional Italian food is delicious and presented with great attention to detail. The ragu was a highlight for us. Reservations are recommended, as it can get busy every day of the week! We've been coming back for years!

Absolutely loved this place! 🍕 The Spritz was super refreshing and one of the best I’ve had, the pizza was delicious with a perfect crust and fresh toppings, and the interior design is just stunning!

I asked the young waiter if he could perhaps prepare a little surprise with a cake and a candle – and he did it so warmly. The staff were incredibly kind, fulfilled my wish immediately, and made the moment extra special. When the cake and candle arrived, the entire restaurant even sang "Happy Birthday" – it was truly unforgettable! Many thanks to the entire team for this wonderful surprise and the warm atmosphere. We would love to come back!

The lasagna was a complete letdown. There was no trace of Béchamel or Ragù - just layers of cheese with pasta sheets that were raw and hard to chew. The only meat element was a small spoonful of Bolognese sauce thrown on top, while the inside was nothing more than plain, sometimes undercooked, pasta. The result was dry, heavy, and simply unacceptable for such a classic dish. Although the staff was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant, the food should always be the main reason to visit a restaurant. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend it.

The dishes are really good, and the portions are perfect, so you can even order a side dish or dessert! The atmosphere is pleasant, but quite loud, and the tables are a bit too close together. The service is friendly and offered good recommendations. However, I was not served once while waiting at the bar for a takeaway order (I ordered a cocktail, which would have been my last before pregnancy, which made it all the more sad 😅). The next time I called at 9:33 PM to ask if I could order something to eat at 9:45 PM, but they said they were "cleaning the kitchen because it closes at 10 PM."

We happened upon the Sorano for dinner by chance, as we were staying at the Hotel Louis across the street. I highly recommend it to everyone. The friendliness of the staff, both in the hotel and in the restaurant, is hard to beat. The food exceeded our expectations; the pizzas were delicious, and the octopus was cooked to perfection. I forgot my jacket in the restaurant and emailed them from home a day later. I received an immediate reply saying it had been found and would be sent to me. When I asked about a refund, they told me it was the hotel's service and I didn't need to pay anything. Great, thanks so much to Leo (the jacket arrived). We will definitely come back on our next visit to Regensburg!

Pizza was okay, drinks were massively overpriced, service was not good. No one came to ask if we wanted another drink, but the restaurant was almost empty. Luckily, I had already ordered two drinks at the beginning, otherwise I would have died of thirst. -> Rudely commenting on guest reviews doesn't make the situation any better ;) Fact: There were no requests for drinks in 2.5 hours. Fact: A guest with a walker had to squeeze past a stroller to get to the bathroom several times; my warnings were ignored by neither the responsible guests nor the staff. Until I angrily pushed the stroller aside – then it had to go. Strollers go in front of people with disabilities. A disgrace!

Very tasty dishes. A large selection. The pizzas are very large and fairly priced. A large beer garden, always well-filled on my evening visits. Plenty of friendly and attentive staff. About a 20-minute walk from the cathedral.

At some point, the rip-off of table water in Germany must be clearly addressed. For us, it's the case here at Sorano. The food is really good. But due to the price of table water, this restaurant is now history after several visits. In other European countries, water is available at reasonable prices. Please explain these exorbitant prices to us.

Today was my first time here, but probably also my last. Pizza dough should be nice and crispy—but here I got something paper-thin, soggy, and so raw that it was almost impossible to cut.

Very tasty pizzas. The lasagna wasn't that good. It seemed like it had just been microwaved. But otherwise, it was excellent. The young waiter was attentive and friendly. A misreading when taking the order in the kitchen was acknowledged and immediately corrected with an apologetic cappuccino. Very remarkable.

A simply perfect experience! The staff's attention was incredible: everyone, absolutely everyone, treated us like kings and queens, with a kindness and warmth that is truly rare. And the cuisine... what can I say? Simply unrivaled. Some of the best Italian cuisine I've ever tried, even compared to many restaurants in Italy. A nice Italian restaurant that advertises its desire to recapture the romantic charm of times gone by. Well, okay. Nicely decorated, but reservations are advisable. The food was generally okay; we had the impression that it was a bit prefabricated. The extremely friendly service and the bottle of Santagostino (Sicily) that we had with our main course saved it.

There were two of us dining, and yes, we paid almost three figures, BUT: we each had an appetizer, a main course, at least two cocktails each (I've already bought the glasses because I thought they were so good), and we were also AFK. Sounds like a lot, but we ordered a lot. And it was worth every cent. Delicious, friendly staff, and the other guests weren't annoying either; everything was top-notch.

The pizza was okay, but the pasta dishes and parmigiana for the main course were disappointing. Service was attentive but overwhelmed. The wait for food was almost 45 minutes...and not everything came at the same time. Yes, it was busy, but still.

Trattoria Sorano is one of the few restaurants in Regensburg where you can tell from the first bite that they take quality seriously. The olive oil? Top-notch. Fruity, with a slightly spicy finish. Just the way it should be. The bread comes warm, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I could easily celebrate it as an appetizer. The lasagna was perfectly layered, not too greasy, a generous portion, rich tomato sauce, and the meat delicately seasoned. It was really enjoyable. The Parma e Bufala pizza was the highlight for me. Airy crust, thin base, and perfectly cooked. The Parma cheese was beautifully tender, the buffalo mozzarella creamy and aromatic. The bottom line: No frills, just honest, good food.

Well, I have to honestly say I've been there once with my girlfriend and have tried a lot of restaurants in Regensburg, and this is by far the best pizza I've ever eaten. You get truly authentic Italian pizzas there, and whatever you order tastes fantastic. Despite the prices, they're worth the 5 stars. I would recommend anyone who hasn't been there yet to go. I give the whole concept an excellent rating.

Super tasty & beautiful outdoor area

Looking for a small Italian dinner (since I didn't want to eat at the hotel) I ended up at Trattoria Sorano. I got a table straight away. The service was incredibly attentive and friendly. The Vitello Tonato appears small on the plate, but is much more and completely sufficient. Plus it tastes very good! The large mixed salad with strawberry vinegar sauce was really tasty. Pizza bread was served as a starter, free of charge. Very thoughtfully, I was given a (free) grappa with my espresso, which wasn't really a given either. The noise level is slightly higher due to the somewhat bare but stylish walls. But I found it rather good because it reminded me of a real Italian trattoria 😁. I will definitely come back and look forward to good, down-to-earth (in a positive sense) cuisine! Many thanks to the team!

Die neapolitanische Margherita mit Sardinen und Kapern war ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis – wunderbar ausgewogener Belag, perfekt abgestimmt. Der Rand war herrlich knusprig, genau so, wie man es sich bei einer authentischen Pizza wünscht. Für uns definitiv die beste Pizza in Regensburg! Beim nächsten Besuch in der Stadt ist ein weiterer Stopp hier garantiert. Weiter so!

This trattoria is on the edge of the old town, the location is rather mediocre, but the food is good. Prices are rather high, but you get good quality and delicious food, and the service is very friendly. When the weather is good you can also sit outside in a kind of beer garden. Top restaurant in Catania. Everything is homemade. Homemade pasta is delicious. Meat a treat. Delicious salt crusted fish.

Definitely recommendable in terms of ambiance and service, but the value for money for the Parmigiano di Melanzane was not at all right. The main course was a starter portion and truly marginal. At €15, it was also far too expensive. I left the restaurant hungry, unfortunately. It's a shame, because it's otherwise a great place.

I have always had fond memories of Trattoria Sorano, but unfortunately I was very disappointed last time. I had linguine with prawns. The taste is really delicious, but unfortunately it's a very small portion for > €20. Unfortunately, it was so disappointing that we ordered another pizza to share because we were still hungry. But the pizza was definitely delicious.

Wir bestellten 4 Pizzas di Mare, die Pizzas schwammen in übermäßig viel Tomatensaft, als sie ankamen. Als wir es den Kellnern erzählten, machten sie sich über uns lustig und meinten, es sei „zu viel Soße“ da. Es handelt sich um einen dünnen, wässrigen Teig, der in der Mitte nicht durchgebacken ist, da zu viel Soße darin enthalten ist. Aus diesem Grund konnten wir die Pizza nicht essen. Schließlich erklärten wir die Situation noch einmal und sie wollten uns Kaffee anbieten :(, aber wir lehnten ab, weil wir hungrig waren.

Salve siamo due Italiani da poco in città, e con una grande nostalgia di pizza abbiamo trovato online questo splendido locale italiano 'La Trattoria Sorano'. Premettendo che al nostro arrivo di sabato alle 20:00 senza alcuna prenotazione e il locale pieno siamo stati accolti in una maniera unica, noi eravamo due persone e con un attesa veramente di pochissimi minuti ci hanno fatto accomodare. Il tempo di visionare il menù abbiamo ordinato due margherite per un po' paura della qualità e bontà della pizza. E qui siamo rimasti entrambi senza parole, pizza italiana stile contemporaneo di alto livello, impasto soffice e delicato bordo alto e soffice anche questo, nulla da invidiare a molte pizzerie italiane. Pizza da 9 complimenti. Sicuramente saremo vostri clienti ancora molte volte. Se siete in città vi consiglio una visita. Pieni voti anche su ambiente e servizio. Anche in Germania è possibile mangiare un ottima pizza Italiana.

Hello, we are two Italians who have recently arrived in the city, and with a great nostalgia for pizza we found this splendid Italian place 'La Trattoria Sorano' online. Given that upon our arrival on Saturday at 8:00 pm without any reservation and the place full we were welcomed in a unique way, we were two people and with a wait of just a few minutes we were seated. While looking at the menu, we ordered two margheritas because we were a little afraid of the quality and goodness of the pizza. And here we were both speechless, high quality contemporary Italian style pizza, soft and delicate dough with a high and soft edge too, nothing to envy of many Italian pizzerias. 9 compliments pizza. We will certainly be your customers many times again. If you are in town I recommend a visit. Full marks also for the environment and service. Even in Germany it is possible to eat excellent Italian pizza.

The food has been consistently good since it opened, but it has become very expensive. There is no longer even a bread basket to go with the large salad. You haven't seen any of the greetings from the kitchen for a long time.

We ordered a lasagna and carbonara pasta.. the worst lasagna I've ever tried, honestly. The pasta was not even close to "al dente" and the lasagna was just dry, burnt and no flavor in the meat.. We complain right away to the waitress and they offered dessert... If they failed executing a traditional Italian dish in a so called Italian restaurant, what can I expect for other things... it's simply a tourist trap!

I was recommended Trattoria Sorano by a work colleague (and a real Regensburg resident). It was really outstanding! As soon as you enter the restaurant you feel like you are in Italy: the ambience is warm and inviting with checkered tablecloths and candles that create a cozy atmosphere. The open kitchen is particularly impressive, allowing you to see how the food is being prepared. The Neapolitan style pizza is a poem. Airy edge & fresh, high-quality ingredients. The dessert was also heavenly and rounded off the meal perfectly. The service was very friendly and attentive. Despite the restaurant being busy, you felt well looked after at all times and food and drinks arrived quickly. If you appreciate Italian flair and excellent food, you should definitely visit this restaurant. We would definitely like to come back!

Rundum empfehlenswert: Tolles Essen, super Service, schönes Ambiente

It was busy on a Monday night, which tells you that it must be consistently good. We went here only because it was close to our hotel (Novotel), but it turned out to be an excellent choice. All three of us were very happy with the food. I had the canneloni (excellent) with a huge side salad. Service was friendly and efficient. Although we do read German, I think there must have been an English menu available, as I don't recall translating anything. The waiter spoke excellent English. Prices were mid-range: not cheap, but reasonable for the size of servings and the quality of the food. Recommended.

I ordered pick up from the restaurant. The Pizza Diavola and the Bruscetta were ready in 15 minutes. 16.50€ for a pizza with 6 slices of salami, a few onions and olives… (pizza was not spicy!) The topping of the bruscetta had fallen off the bread, probably when it was put in the packaging. Not exactly commendable for a restaurant with these prices.

Bad reviews seem to be doubted more than people accept the criticism and think about it or try to do better in the future. We had a wait of almost 1 1/2 hours for the main course and our mood at the table was accordingly. We sat on the upper floor and it was completely overcrowded (and correspondingly loud). The tables were very close to each other and the waitresses sometimes couldn't get through, so we had to get up sometimes because after sliding the chair forward several times there was still not enough space for the waitress to get through with the food.

Food was okay. We waited around 1 1/2 hours for the food, unfortunately the food wasn't worth it. Far too many tables in the restaurant, you could have a conversation with the person sitting next to you if it weren't so incredibly loud in the restaurant. Unfortunately, you already have to shout at each other at the table. There is so little space between the tables that as a guest you even had to stand up so that the waiters could serve the tables behind them.

The ambience is nice, it is very loud on the ground floor, so you can't really hear people at the same table (we actually reserved for upstairs and still got a table downstairs). Staff is nice and accommodating. Pizza is pretty cheeky at €21.50. And then there are not even real black olives on it, just colored olives (you can clearly see it in the pictures of the other reviews). Unfortunately, even with the chili oil provided, the pizza wasn't "very spicy" as described in the menu. But as we all know, that depends on the eater's palate ;) However, visiting the restaurant again is completely out of the question for me.

Wir haben hier in kleinem Kreise unsere Weihnachtsfeier verbracht. Der Service war sehr engagiert aber nicht aufdringlich. Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichlich. Auch als das Restaurant bereits fast leer war wurden uns noch Getränke angeboten und nicht der Eindruck vermittelt man wolle jetzt schließen. Alles in allem ein sehr gelungener Abend!

We were there on Friday November 15th. the second time in the Trattoria Sorano. We booked via OpenTable, which worked well. At reception we were kindly informed that we had our table from 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. That's what it says in opentable and I understand that restaurants have to plan that way. My companion had heard about this limited table time for the first time and was therefore surprised and asked. The lady at reception checked to see if she could give us another table but they were quite fully booked that day (completely understandable for a Friday evening). We were then taken to our table, ordered and ate. Unfortunately, my pizza came about 20 minutes later than my companion's main courses but, as mentioned, on Friday evening you can understand that and we didn't say anything about it. Behind us on the second floor were a few young men who had not ordered any food during the evening and were only there to drink. During the course of the evening you were asked to go to the bar. Also understandable but brought us back to the topic of limited reservation times. We had finished eating relatively on time when (as we later found out, there was no introduction or greeting) the manager briefly assured us that we didn't have to leave straight away and that we could take our time. That was meant in a friendly way, but by this point we had all finished eating and drinking. So we asked for the bill, paid it (+15%) and at the same time talked about the situation that had just happened. We didn't ask the waitress about it, but we weren't asked for our opinion either. So we put on our jackets and set off. Shortly after we got up, the manager came back to us and started asking us loudly, "What's the problem?" He kindly told us that we didn't have to go. Perplexed by the tone and the question (we have finished eating and want to leave), we first ask him not to shout at us. Of course without success, we continue with insinuations that we complained to the service person and that he has 'everything on video' (???) [At this point, please feel free to post the video in question here if possible]. After failed attempts to defuse the situation and the manager getting louder and louder, my companion and I were pushed out of the store and shouted. Finally, all you hear loudly is “no entry” and “get out of my shop”. I have never seen such absolutely unbridled and condescending behavior from a managing director, let alone experienced it myself. So as long as you don't upset the manager in any way, you can expect good service and delicious food at Trattoria Sorano. There's nothing wrong with that. However, we will of course never come back (whether the house is banned or not). I'm sorry to leave such a bad review because the restaurant, the food and the service don't deserve it. I still have to share our meeting with the restaurant's manager.

Wir hatten einen super Tisch im 1. Stock, der Service war super freundlich und sehr auf zack. Nach kurzer Zeit hatten wir unser Essen am Tisch und es war köstlich. Auch als im oberen Bereich es immer leerer wurde, wurde. Wir darauf hingewiesen wenn wir möchten können wir gerne sitzen bleiben. Rundum ein guter Besuch.

Great atmosphere, you feel like you're on vacation. The food selection is very extensive. I chose a vegan pizza, it was the best vegan pizza I've eaten so far! 😋🍕 If you're lucky, you'll find free parking on the side streets around the restaurant!
