Food a bit expensive, but still OK for sushi. Long waiting time

This was the tastiest tofu I have ever eaten. 🤩 Had the pad thai with tofu, plus a very tasty mango lassi and a 0.4 Cola Zero. All together under 26 euros and the quality of the food was really good! The service was also very friendly. Papa Mi is super central, but since it is slightly different on a side street, it is still pleasantly quiet.

I've always been happy with the food so far. It tastes good and the ambience is very nice. The last time I was there with a friend and we went to the toilet at the end before we wanted to leave, a waitress came out of the women's toilet without washing her hands and continued serving straight away. As of that moment, the restaurant lost two customers. Hygiene is the be-all and end-all and that just really put us off. We won't go there anymore. Too bad...

Udon noodles are to die for here! Tastes very good and not too greasy. Cocktails are also very tasty and great prices. A bit crowded but it's OK! Gladly again!

The dishes at this Asian restaurant are really tasty, well prepared and full of flavor. We had a lovely time thanks to the excellent cuisine. We were particularly pleased that we were spontaneously offered water for our dog - a rare and very appreciated gesture. The service was okay during the meal, but unfortunately a bit unfriendly when paying. This was a shame as it left a mixed impression after an otherwise lovely dining experience. Nevertheless, we recommend this restaurant for the quality of the food.

Been here after a visit to the Dom of Köln at a friday afternoon. Had the best Udon with crispy chicken I ever had, the Pho my partner took was very rich in flavor. Large portions, very reasonable price. Friendly staff, short waiting times. Highly recommended! Would definitely come again.

A very welcoming place in the heart of Cologne, with good food and a wide selection. Lots of gluten-free options. The service is excellent; the waiter was very kind and helpful. Really good prices.

Very tasty food, they seem to use good oils and fats as it isn't heavy on the stomach or gives you a stomach ache like the food from many other Asian restaurants or delivery services in the area. So I'm very happy to have finally found a good address! Unfortunately the floor and the tables were a bit sticky, otherwise a very nice atmosphere!

We ate spring rolls and tofu with vegetables in peanut sauce. The portions were reasonable and the food was super good. We got 0.4l tap water for 1.50 euros, which I think is totally fine. We will definitely come back!

Great place close ti old town to try some nice vietnamese and sushi too. The staffs are nice and the food tastes good too. They have a wide selection of sushi and they are well prepared. The vietnamese dishes such as Pho and sandwiches are good too. The service is fine too. Overall worth the visit although a bit pricier compared to other Asian restaurants.

O.k.food. serving dishes were dirty. Table was sticky. Zero English except for menu. I would go elsewhere. Not worth the charge.

The food was super tasty. The service was very friendly. The ambience was also nice, but techno music was playing and the lights at the bar flickered to the beat. We felt like we were in a disco. But we would still recommend the restaurant!

Told us they take credit card to get us to stay and order but actually they don't, and they overcharged us on drinks compared to the menu. Avoid.

Very nice little Vietnamese. The food was great and service was very attentive and friendly. We had the appetizer platter and sushi, a small dessert completed our order. I can only recommend it. Keep it up.

My sushi was very tasty and was freshly prepared in front of us. The Mango Lassie was also a 100/10 and the ambience was very relaxed and cozy. Price/performance ratio is right.

Ate here based on great reviews. Dishes were good and filling, cocktails were also satisfactory. Service unfortunately scattered; Things had to be exchanged several times and there was room for misunderstandings. Waiting times for food are relatively long. Side note: Pork belly dish is not suitable for people with weak teeth. Ambience OK, seats rather uncomfortable. Express recommendation: Saigon coffee and crispy duck in mango sauce. To the owners: In my opinion, an additional service staff would relieve the burden on employees. Thanks to Ash for the friendly service!

Went here for the beef pho after reading all the reviews but I’d say it was just okay and wouldn’t recommend. Service was good.

Food is great, had chicken with rice and once chicken with noodles. We can recommend rice a little more than a side dish. Service was very nice and accommodating, even special requests such as ice cream for the cola are no problem

**Review for Papa Mi Restaurant:** Overall, the food at Papa Mi Restaurant was okay, but there were some deficiencies that spoiled the overall impression. The sauce was significantly too sweet, which greatly affected the taste of the dish. In addition, the vegetables were almost raw and very hard, which was not what was shown in the picture. The coffee and the Pina Colada should be positively highlighted, both of which were good. The quick preparation of the food is also a plus. The dishes were also beautifully served and decorated, which was pleasing to the eye. Another plus point was the very friendly service, which made the visit more pleasant. Overall the experience was okay, but there is definitely room for improvement, especially in the preparation of the main courses.

If the owner is reading this , you guys need more staff and more customer obsession! The food is ok though!

Tried the food, and honestly, it was bland. We had fried duck salad with mihn, but the duck was fried to unrecognisable meat. It should come with a variation of herbs, which were nowhere to be seen. The mango curry was quite bland. The chicken was only marinated with salt and baking soda? Veggies with the curry were mushy.

The food was, well… drinks from Lidl and unchilled. Cutlery and glasses dirty. Maybe because the glasses are washed by hand and dried straight away.

Above average. We ordered chicken skewers, fried egg rolls, pho and padthai with crispy duck. The appetizers were alright. Chicken sate a touch too dry. The pho was good, but can skip the padthai. We both found the padthai was a bit too sweet and couldn’t finish it. We love the crispy duck though. The pho hits the spot just right, but would not mind seeing a large bowl option on the menu.

Excellent asian food with a lot of choice such as pho, pad thai, curry, satay, springrolls. I took chicken satay skewers and some duck in a red curry sauce (16€). Delicious and nicely presented. They also offer great cocktails! Prices are really reasonable.

This is a place where you can enjoy Asian food (mainly Vietnamese) at an affordable price. In particular, the lunch menu is excellent value for money.

Luckily there were still places available outside for consumption in the restaurant. Service was very friendly and quick, food was brought quickly and was super tasty. Some of the most authentic Asian food I’ve had outside of Asian! Sushi, pho, Sobe & wonton soup all incredible. Also really reasonably priced. Definitely recommend to go!

Absolutely outstanding. All the food we had was delicious, the sushi is great and very reasonably priced. I had the pho and it was very tasty and authentic. We’re only visiting for 5 days but will definitely be going again before we leave! Staff were friendly and accommodating even when we rocked up at 21:30. Thank you for a brilliant meal and service!

Omg, this place is amazing! The wonton soup had so much flavour, that I wanted to eat more and more and more. The sushi tasted great. And the gyoza were tasty even for my 3 year old son who normally doesn't eat such food. We had a great lunch here and totally enjoyed the food and the atmosphere of this place. A true hidden gem in the center of Cologne.

The food here was super delicious :) We once had padthai, udon noodles and vegetables in teriyaki sauce with rice and grilled chicken. For dessert there was mango lassi.

Food under seasoned and tasteless Waitress wore a big coat all evening. Payment by cash only, which came as a surprise to us. Photos on the menu may not represent what you are served. Soft drinks were poured from large value 2l bottles and flat.

I’d give this 0 if I could. It absolutely stank and wasn’t clean. The toilets were rank, smelt and there were numerous flies. Due to our self sabotaging politeness we had a coffee and fled. The smell was so bad it made the customer service seem acceptable. If you want a good East Asian meal, go to Thai-Viet Street Food imbisse.

I was there for lunch. The food and service were ok, but nothing special. Therefore only three stars (in relation to the prices).

Unfortunately a disappointment. We ordered crispy baked wontons, which only consist of dough and hardly any filling (€5.5). The Vietnamese coffee was also not hot or tasty as we know it. The pho came with bean sprouts even though we didn't want any, even when we pointed this out there was no reaction. When we ordered we asked for a lot of lemon and fresh chilies, of course none came, when asked they said there were no more...the Pho broth had hardly any taste

Tasty food for a reasonable price!

Lovingly designed restaurant in Cologne's shopping mile. The innkeeper knows how to accompany his guests on their culinary journey. The appetizer platter was mega enough for us and our two children. The main courses that followed were really good. If we were in Cologne more often, we would definitely see each other regularly.

The service and the food were just perfect. I don't know when I've ever had such good Asian food.

Food was really tasty and the portions were okay for the price. However, we had to wait quite a long time for a waitress because she was busy chatting and laughing. Unfortunately there was only very limited space at the table. Unfortunately, there is more emphasis on quantity than quality here. What bothered me the most, however, was that the waitress more or less snuck tips for herself. I didn't have enough change (which can happen sometimes) and wanted to give us €3 too little, to which my companion then said that it was ok. Then the waitress said that she would check again for change and that she would come back straight away. After we waited for about 10 minutes and the waitress in question didn't even come near us, we got up and left. Of course it was “only” €3 but it’s just about her whole behavior. Then she shouldn't have said that she would be back soon.

Wonderful food. The coconut cream soup was very tasty. And the main course is enough for two people. Very well served dishes. Passion fruit juice with mint surprised me and was very good.

I would like to share with you my incredibly positive experience that I had at the “Papa Mi Restaurant” in downtown Cologne. After we were unfortunately turned away that evening from a restaurant that had very, very narrow rooms and hardly any accessibility, we had to reschedule and look for another restaurant nearby where we could spontaneously go out for dinner with 4 people. As a wheelchair user with an electric wheelchair, points such as barrier-free toilets and step-free access are very important to me. Even though there is no barrier-free toilet in this restaurant, we still decided to eat there because the waitress on the phone was so incredibly friendly and said that we were welcome to come and that a wheelchair wouldn't be a problem. When we got there we were greeted incredibly warmly and invited in. After it was immediately apparent that it could be a bit tighter with the wheelchair, we were still given a very comfortable space so that it wasn't tight either. There was something cozy and cozy about it. The entire wait staff at this restaurant is incredibly attentive and with the slightest wave of a hand or a smile they immediately come and take orders. Drinks take a maximum of 5 minutes to arrive. The food or recommendations for the food are also made and explained. So you know what you're serving people. I just find that incredibly beautiful and very authentic. Unfortunately, I have often experienced things differently. I have rarely felt as incredibly comfortable in a restaurant as I did in this one. It was also said that the owner prepared the location himself many years ago, which was really exciting to know, as you can see the attention to detail in every corner and how lovingly everything is designed. From the starters and main courses, everything was perfect, very balanced and healthy if you have to pay attention to that and there is simply not too much or too little. The sauces are very, very tasty, if meat or fish was ordered, then it is really to the point and the meat is cooked as it should be. The side dishes and small delicacies such as spring rolls or gyoza also taste excellent. A restaurant that really knows what they offer on the menu. If I could, I would give more than 5 stars for the food and service. We would like to come back soon.

We had delicious sushi and were very satisfied. The music was a bit loud, which was minimally annoying. You should reserve in advance because there are only a few seats inside.

We ordered one of the expensive sushi sets. The service was poor. The sushi was somehow cut up. I didn't like that they take multiple orders per table, meaning you can't sit for as long as you'd like. At least three hours. After our time was up, we were politely asked to leave. I don't plan on visiting this place again

Wow, what a gem to find just off one of Köln's busiest shopping streets. Papa mi is affordable and the food is to die for. Recommend the coconut milk soup (chicken or prawn) and the mains were outstanding. Loved it and recommend it to all.

We had a wonderful evening at Papa Mi’s. The food is absolutely delicious and the selection of dishes offers vegetarian and meat- and fish lovers options. There are plenty of Sushi menus to choose from, too. The restaurant is cozy and clean. The service had some difficulties understanding us, but this did not further affect the experience. The facilities/bathrooms in the basement were tidy, but could have used a bit of cleaning and restocking. Overall we enjoyed the evening and would definitely come again. Thank you

Strange shop, our place at the window smelled of urine (not the "finest location"), sushi not good, strange characters (guests) in the shop. The service was friendly and accommodating but there are 1000 better Asian restaurants in Cologne.

Essen war sehr sehr gut und der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Das Ambiente ist ebenfalls sehr hübsch aber der Geruch im Restaurant war zunächst unangenehm.
