Papa George in Münster

Disappointing. We ordered online through Münster isst. Instead of the advertised 70 minutes, we waited 120 minutes. After our first call after almost 90 minutes, we were told the food would be there in 15 minutes at the latest. It ended up taking over 30 minutes longer. The food was also lukewarm and, unfortunately, not very good. We won't be ordering again anytime soon. It's especially unfortunate because we've had some good experiences in the past.

After years, I returned to Münster to find that the prices are too expensive, the portions too small, and the quality of the gyros is simply not the same as it used to be... a pity

The food is always top-notch. However, this is the second hefty price increase within a year. That's it for me; I can no longer afford this luxury.

Delicious gyros, unfortunately the portions have gotten smaller over time...for 10€ you now only get the small compartment full of gyros and the large one full of tzatziki.

It was very tasty, but relatively loud and hectic. The decor and staff seem to have remained unchanged in 30 years (according to my friend, who ate there as a child). Otherwise, the pita was as it should be! The price was fair, too!

Solid, delicious food. Gyros, pizza, and grilled dishes. I've been here with my parents before, and the gyro pita cost 5 DM. I paid €12 for the whole gyro. The conditions have been almost the same over the years: A lady who has everything under control, a bit direct but friendly. Bring anything with your gyro. If you come by car, you can park for free for an hour in the Rewe parking lot across the street.

Papa George has been my number one snack bar in MS for years. They've been serving authentic, honest gyros for almost 30 years. Keep up the good work.

The takeout gyro pita wasn't easy to eat without a napkin, but it was tasty. The tuna pizza was good.

Papa George's once had the very best gyros in all of Münster. I didn't have that feeling two weeks ago when I ate gyros there again after several years—more by chance. Did they completely forget the seasoning on the meat? It could also be my own taste buds—just try it for yourself. Mayo on the fries now costs €1.

I was there yesterday and ordered a meat plate with fries and cabbage salad. There was a lot of turkey breast on it and very well seasoned and there was a lot of fries on it too. I would have preferred tomatoes and cucumber instead of coleslaw. Unfortunately I had to wait a long time for my order, it would have been great if they had given us dips while I was waiting, but instead I ordered extra tzatziki when the grill plate was ready. The restaurant was very hygienic and the service was also good. With fries you would have to say that you want ketchup

A really great snack! We have been guests several times and are always more than satisfied. The food is freshly prepared and always tastes very good. There is a children's high chair available and tables etc are always clean and tidy. I only have one point of criticism (hence a star deduction for ambience): there is a play area for the little ones. However, it is very run down and unfortunately sometimes really dirty/unhygienic. If you decide to provide a corner for children, this should also be taken care of. This is possible with little effort and cost. Otherwise, I can recommend Papa George without exception.

Ordered and eaten there very often. Do not confuse it with the imitation one! This is the original that we have all known and loved for over 20 years.

I have no idea how they manage it, but even the fries come out crispy. Sometimes the wait is a bit long, but it's definitely worth it. Clear recommendation.

Worst Greek ever. I ordered gyros with rice. I got 25% gyros and 75% tasteless tomato rice. The gyro was like it was cooked, not crispy and without any taste. I would actually like my money back...

You don't have to tell a Münster resident much about Papa George anyway. This has been an institution in Münster for decades. Papa George is a top recommendation for anyone who is traveling through here and is hungry. Delicious gyros, huge portions, if you don't get full then you've done something wrong.

Basically good food with acceptable price/performance and usually fast delivery (often faster than stated). However, what is really annoying is the way customers are treated, as other reviewers have already written. In addition to minor mistakes in delivery (forgetting the sauce, etc.), they always pack the cold, wet coleslaw in the same bowl together with hot fries and the meat dish, which - a little shaken - leads to soggy fries and cold gyros, which also over the years has lost quality. Comments in the contact field (“Please pack coleslaw separately”) are generally ignored. Critical feedback is brushed off (boss “orders”). We are now testing ourselves with other Greeks and will try again next year.

Best Gyros Pita... we used to go there 2 or 3 times a month and now unfortunately only once or twice a year because we live in the USA. We're already looking forward to the next time

The best gyros in Münster for definitely 30 years. Here I know that I will always get good food. Of course it has become more expensive here too, but there is no saving in the quality and quantity of the ingredients. Except for the pepperoni in the gyros/fries/tzatziki, I miss it a bit ;-)

I have enjoyed being a guest of Papa George for more than 20 years. Simply because the gyros are a tradition here in Münster. It could be a little more seasoned, even in the gratinated version, but the fries are outstanding, in my opinion. 🫶🏼 I always enjoy coming to this store. Even though prices have risen almost dramatically in recent years (like almost everywhere). Gyros fries 10 euros, plus 1 euro 😮‍💨 for a portion of mayo.

This is the original Papa George! This is particularly important for people from outside the area to know, as there is another delivery service with the same name on the same street. I'm reviewing Papa George's gyros for pickup here. The gyros are of excellent quality, always fresh and the portion is really generous. Everyone gets fed up. Absolutely clear recommendation! I've only heard good things about the other dishes, but haven't tried them myself yet. Collection is easy and preparation is always quick. The team is very nice and always up for a joke. The prices are fair. Here the increase due to inflation was not as extreme as is the case with many other restaurants. I'd love to come back!

The One and Only. The best pizza in Münster. Please make sure that you buy the original one. Many reviews refer to the imitators who just misuse the name. All the other would-be original Papa Georges aren't even close to being as tasty. The pizzas are simply perfect in terms of taste, appearance, toppings and ingredients. The staff is super nice and responds to special requests. The ambience is also great. 10 out of 10.

We were here for dinner and had a good meal. The portions were large and the price was right. The food was fresh, beautifully prepared, delicious. Unfortunately there is no Pils on tap but there is a very large selection of drinks, including several wines. Nothing is missing. We will be back!!

In my opinion, it used to be the best Greek restaurant in Münster. Today, unfortunately, it's just a shadow of its former self. The prices have risen significantly, but there was now less on the plate. Maybe it was coincidence, maybe not. In my opinion, the taste can no longer be compared to before. It's a shame, because I've had this experience every time I've visited the last three times. By the way, parking options are now disastrous.

Guter Gyrosladen. Das Fleisch ist aber für meinen Geschmack etwas zu salzig. Die Portionen sind groß. Leider sind die Damen hinter der Theke nicht so sympathisch und kundenorientiert. Lokalität ist aber in Ordnung.

Tut mir bitte alle einen Gefallen und hört auf dieses Papa George "das original" mit den anderen Müll Buden die den selben Namen haben zu verwechseln. Für die die es nicht wissen dieses Papa George hat mit den anderen nichts zu tun. Die anderen haben lieferando und münster isst, die hier haben nur Münster isst. Also wenn ihr Kommentare schreibt tut das bitte bei dem Papa George was ihr wirklich meint achtet mal auf die Adresse und nicht bei dem ersten den Google vorschlägt direkt drauf klicken und drauf los schreiben. Wenn man vor Ort am essen ist geht es ,bestellt man das Essen hat es definitiv nicht die gleiche Qualität.Ghost Kitchen? Preise sind auch zu hoch........

Essen super und lecker. Personal mega unfreundlich

Früher war dieser Grieche besser. Dort bekommt man kein Hallo oder guten Tag, sondern direkt eine unfreundliche Frau die auf Fragen nur halbherzig antwortet bzw. gar nicht darauf eingeht. Für 18€ ein grillteller zum mitnehmen bestellt und das meiste war in der Box nur krautsalat und Pommes. Zudem ist das Hähnchenfilet sehr Knorpel/Fettlastig. Für 18€ erwartet man schon ein bischen mehr bei einem „Grillteller“ Und außerhaus kann man bei einer 7% Versteuerung auch ein bischen großzügiger sein. Alles in allem würde ich den Griechen nicht empfehlen.

Sehr seltsamer Charme - als Kunde wird man eher als Bittsteller behandelt. Qualität des Essens so lala - Fleisch ist sehr salzig. Insgesamt für einen Imbiss sehr teuer. Für das gleiche Geld kann man um die Ecke im Santorini besser und gemütlicher essen und wird auch freundlich behandelt.

Waren zu 10 Personen da.Es gab lecker Fritten,gutes Gyros Pita und einen sehr guten, gemischten Vorspeisen Teller.Gerne wieder!

Zum Schnell/hart/fettig/brutal/primitivlecker-Sattwerden o.k. .... Vorspeisendips auf Auf-Die-12-Art o.k., aber sehr salzig, Pizza extrem ölig, Pommes knusprig-gut, Fleisch na ja.... Kann mal, muss aber nicht mehr als einmal im Jahr.. Edit: die sogen. vegetarische Pita besteht aus nix ausser pappigem Brot, Krautsalat, bisschen eingeweichtem Käsegekrüssel und Zaziki. Die mit Abstand schlechteste Salattasche von Münster. So was hab ich noch nie erlebt!

Ich kenne den Imbiss seit mehr als 30 Jahren, war aber durch Wegzug jetzt mehr als vier Jahre nicht mehr hier. Früher habe ich immer gesagt, dass es hier das beste Gyros gibt. Dem ist leider überhaupt nicht so. Klitzeklein gehäckselt, super kleine Portion (Gyros Teller komplett) und fader Geschmack. Hatte mich eigentlich richtig gefreut, aber hier muss ich nicht mehr hin.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Das Personal sehr freundlich Der Preis ist total ok . Kommen gerne wieder wenn wir in Münster sind .

Meine Pizza gestern war zwar lecker, aber leider nicht die Pizza, die ich bestellt habe ... Habe eine Pommes Spezial Pizza 28cm und 1 Bratwurst an meinen Arbeitsplatz bestellt und stattdessen eine Margherita bekommen. Find ich jetzt überhaupt nicht so toll, mehr bezahlt zu haben, für etwas, dass im Endeffekt weniger gekostet hätte ... War leider mal besser hier :/
