All in all, the restaurant is highly recommended. The service was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Requests were easily accommodated, and wait times were reasonable. Enjoying the delicious food with a beautiful view was a highlight. There was one major drawback, however: The vegan chocolate cake was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream – I seriously doubt it was vegan. That really shouldn't be the case. With a vegan diet, you want to be confident that the food is prepared accordingly.

My daughter's graduation - We were looking for a special ambiance, special service, and special food. Yes, the ambiance is lacking because the MDR Tower offers a special view of Leipzig. The service was good to very good, but ultimately nothing special. The food was innovative and special compared to the usual offerings of steak, salad, and soup. But the guest also pays above average for that. All in all, a moderately good dining experience.

What a fantastic view. It's a shame you can't go all the way around. The €5 entrance fee is okay. Unfortunately, the snack bar was closed.

The entrance area was littered with leaves and hadn't been cleaned. It didn't make a good impression, but a 0.1l glass of Prosecco for €9 was absolutely overpriced! The women's restroom wasn't checked. It wasn't maintained, and a 2m cloth towel was lying on the floor.

Very bad experience. The entrance fee is €5, but the machine doesn't accept the money properly and doesn't give any change. The change machine next to it almost only gives €2 coins. To make €5, you need two €2 coins and one €1 coin. When I asked an employee for help, she simply said there was nothing she could do because it would cost her €1 personally – unbelievable! Zero customer service, zero responsibility. For a place that charges an entrance fee, this is completely unprofessional. I can't recommend visiting.

We went for brunch today, and the ambiance and service were top-notch. Regarding the food, I have to say we expected more. €90 for two people isn't cheap, and the food wasn't particularly special. You'll definitely be full, and the view is magnificent, but we wouldn't do it again.

The viewing platform is worth seeing. The restaurant is a bit more exclusive, but the cake in the afternoon was delicious.

I gave the food 3 stars. But I didn't try it myself. As a wheelchair user, I was able to take the elevator to the 29th floor, but that was it. The rest of the view is only accessible to pedestrians. Unfortunately, there's no view for us to admire anywhere. For that, you'd have to go to the restaurant and ask if you can look up at the glass panes. But I didn't, as the service staff down at the entrance, as well as up at the tower, were rather unfriendly. That's not possible! It's not possible, I know. But then you should at least be able to approach one of the glass panes with your wheelchair without asking. Especially since I'd already asked downstairs and was told: "Just go up." And then I checked the elevators upstairs because nothing was working. They could have made that clearer right down at the entrance!

Unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with our visit to the Panorama Tower Restaurant for my birthday. Although we were looking forward to a special experience, the quality of the food and service did not meet our expectations. When ordering, it was explicitly stated that this was a birthday dinner, but the table was not decorated or specially prepared accordingly. The meal itself was a huge disappointment: Both dishes were drizzled with a brown pre-made sauce, which, in my opinion, did not suit the dish. It seemed as if the food had been reheated and not freshly prepared, which is very disappointing at a price of over €40 per dish. We returned the food and fortunately did not have to pay for it, but in this case, the value for money is still not satisfactory. The service also did not meet our expectations. Although the restaurant was not full, guests with specific table requests were directed to other tables because the requested table still needed to be cleaned. This table, however, had a tray of empty glasses and bottles on it that could have been removed long ago. Instead, the wait staff wandered around the restaurant laughing and chatting privately, which gave the impression of unprofessionalism. I would like to emphasize that we enjoy high-quality food and are willing to pay for quality. Unfortunately, this experience did not convince us, and we will probably avoid the restaurant in the future.

We went there for a coffee and the atmosphere was really beautiful but the waiter who served us was very unfriendly and arrogant.

You can't find much nicer or better food in Leipzig. The view, the food, and the service are simply fantastic. Even with children, it's no problem; the waiters are very friendly, and even though it's starting to lean toward fine dining, you don't feel out of place. You feel very comfortable and can easily spend the evening here. We thank the team for an unforgettable evening and will definitely be back soon. It's not an insider tip, but after dinner, the viewing platform is highly recommended, even if it unfortunately costs €5. But that has nothing to do with the restaurant.

Highly recommended if you want a culinary experience high up. We went for a candlelit dinner and were not disappointed. Every course was a delight, and the matching wine was a dream. How warm it was when I ate there. I paid €35 ​​for lamb, but there was no name. It was written "vegetarian" in small print, and I paid €35 ​​for a meat dish. I thought it was overpriced. My friend got two small chicken drumsticks with lots of salad. I paid €40 for them. I thought it was outrageous.

Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. We had booked online tickets for 6 people in advance (€5) and received a barcode. However, once we got to the top, we couldn't redeem it: only cash payments were accepted on site. There was a counter, but it wasn't manned. When we asked, we were told the person in charge was on a break and would be there in 10 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes, unfortunately, no one was there. So we couldn't enjoy the view of Leipzig at all and left sadly. It was a real shame, as we were really looking forward to the view.

Well, yes! Our son reserved a table, saying that we, his parents (who, by the way, are from Hamburg), were celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary. We arrived and were given a table in the hallway. My son politely asked for a table by the window, as there were empty ones. His request was denied. We stayed despite the poor location and placed our orders. My husband ordered a mushroom and got a dark beer—ehhh?? Well, he stayed with the beer, and he didn't like it. We got bread with three homemade dips—wow! Nothing special. The food was good, but nothing earth-shattering. My food wasn't warm. My husband didn't eat anything because there wasn't even an appetizing soup on the menu. He said it was a strange combination. As a Mexican, I wondered what "chocomole" meant, because it's an elaborate dish in Mexico, namely MOLE... I don't know what chocolatemole means. It's probably just melted chocolate. I have no idea. In the end, we paid €100 including tip, even though the service was poor. She didn't even ask how we were or whether we enjoyed everything? Given the restaurant's price range, you'd expect something like that. We travel the world, and this restaurant is definitely not recommended.

Not recommended for a business lunch. Positive: The view, if you get a table by the window. Negative: Not enough space; the tables are too close together. The waiter was already stressed and hectic when the restaurant opened and there were hardly any guests. The "menu" is very limited, unimaginative, and moderately well prepared. Dinner, candlelight dinner. 250 euros 2 people. Is it worth it for the menu offered? Decide for yourself! But you pay more for the location than for the menu. Our opinion. So the restaurant scores with its view, clearly. Therefore the “higher” prices are justified. However, from our point of view, we try to experiment and get more out of the kitchen than it can achieve. To counteract the high price. That's ok, but you have to be able to do it and not just try... The main course, a classic beef fillet, was good but every kitchen should be able to do that. Crème brûlée at the end too. But of course it's not high cuisine or anything special. What are you thinking about giving out things like the celery with ginger and liquid chocolate starter...does anyone actually try that themselves? You would probably be torn apart by TV chefs. You just want something special at a riot and then something like this comes out... Service was professional but nothing more. We were told what was on the menu about the wine and food. The last time, 3 years ago, there were explanations about this. What we didn't like was that before dessert we were asked if we would like to go to the viewing platform again. Yes, very much, the turnstile was opened and we were able to go up. For non-restaurant guests, i.e. people who just want to get on the platform and take the elevator up and down again, it costs 5 euros per person. Now, of course, as restaurant guests who spent a total of 250 euros, we thought that would be included, but far from it, an additional 10 euros were added to the bill unannounced. It's not about the 10 euros, but that you can expect that it's a courtesy as a house guest, or at least that the service if you ask, then says you can go up there and I'll get you started, but it costs the normal price like for all non-restaurant guests. Neither happened... that's why the tip of 8 euros was paltry because we felt offended when we presented the bill at the end. Otherwise I would have liked to have given at least 20 euros. As I said, the two of us left 250 euros there, so you just assume it's a nice thing to let you up there for a moment. I'm sure some people feel that way when they see the "surprise" on the bill. 10 euros…well done with the extra entry, but lost 13 euros in tip. Great bill… We had a lovely evening, but things like that at the end unfortunately stick with you...

The Panorama Tower with its gourmet restaurant is a highly recommended hospitality option. Everything is just right here and very well attended even during the week.

During our visit to the Panorama Restaurant, everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. 1. When we booked a table over the phone, the wrong day was entered, so we had to wait almost half an hour until we were assigned a table (at least we still got a table. In retrospect, we would have preferred it if we hadn't gotten one) 2. The assigned "spare table" was pretty much the only one without a view, as it was in the middle of the room. Later we were moved to a window. 3. When my pregnant wife asked whether there was raw milk in individual dishes, the waitress checked twice in the kitchen because she probably didn't understand the question and then said "Yes, there is raw milk in it. So you can eat that." 4. I ordered a Spezi that was fermented. The three of us tasted it and the waitress later confirmed to me that something had gone wrong. I don't know how a Spazi can be fermented, but whatever. In any case, I was given a second glass of Spezi, which had fermented again... (I left it until I paid. The obvious question as to whether everything was OK was not asked. 5. I ordered the beef fillet (49€). The fillet tasted great and the size was sufficient. However, there were pretty much no side dishes. The majority of the side dishes consisted of a baked onion. 2/3 of the onion was raw. I like eating onions but I couldn't do that to myself or the others at the table. I was far from full. After the visit to the Panorama Restaurant, we went to a street restaurant (Don Kichot) to get our fill. 6. We were 2 couples and the main courses were mixed up on the bill. So everything was new again after we had to wait 20 minutes after ordering the bill... 7. Unfortunately there is only a very small selection of vegetarian dishes.

To end our stay in Leipzig, we chose this restaurant (dinner). A wonderful place, the only restaurant in the highest building in Leipzig… we were excited and full of anticipation. It's a shame that we've completely stopped here. Everything is outdated and no longer corresponds to the spirit of the times. It's missing in every nook and cranny. You could do something so cool here……. Incredible!!! I find the price/performance ratio to be “chepp”. Just under 250 euros (for two people), I would like to see a lot more in terms of cuisine... A compliment at the end: our warm, courteous and friendly service did their job “outstandingly well”. 😇.

The only good thing about this place is the expensive rooftop view. The building is terribly dark inside, black walls, the toilets dirty. In the restaurant you are served by demotivated staff, only the view while eating is brilliant.

On March 29th, 2025 we had booked a larger birthday party with coffee at 2 p.m., where we unfortunately made a mistake in terms of the obligation. A big compliment to the team at the Tower, who did everything possible so that the celebration could take place very well. Thank you for the great service and the good selection of cakes. We actually just wanted to go to the viewing platform for my grandmother's 80th birthday, as she had always wanted to go to the 'Steig Zahn', ever since the GDR era. Unfortunately, this is NOT accessible for people with walking difficulties, as there are still 52 steps to climb even after the elevator. When we asked, the friendly restaurant employee assigned us a table by the window, where we could each enjoy delicious ice cream, even if the table was reserved for an hour later. Unfortunately, all window tables were already reserved. So we were able to enjoy the view for at least 30 minutes. Even if the prices are significantly higher than in other restaurants in the area, the view, especially at the window tables, absolutely makes up for it. Great view, super friendly staff, delicious ice cream. Thank you for making my grandmother's birthday unforgettable. A lot of love goes out to you and the team!

I expected a lot from the visit, but was very disappointed. The service was friendly, there's nothing to complain about, but the food is far too overpriced for this quality. My food was almost cold and the vegetables were hard with no taste. Not even tossed in butter. Just boiled in water, nothing else. The toilet wasn't very acidic either. But the wine was excellent. All in all it's not worth the money.

We just used the platform to look at Leipzig from above. This time with someone who could tell us something about some of the buildings. I also found the orientation boards okay. What irritated me a little was the price per person to be allowed on the platform. Last year we paid €3 per person and yesterday €5 per person. Nothing has changed from last year or so and I didn't notice it.

Very tasty food and great service We had lunch here and were very satisfied. The food and drinks were very tasty, especially the chocolate cake was a real highlight! The service was very friendly and attentive. We had a nice window seat with a great view. The reservation by phone went smoothly. A small negative point was the cleanliness of the toilet, which could have been a little better maintained. Nevertheless, a very pleasant visit, we would like to come back.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary there. The candle light dinner was absolutely outstanding. The service also gets an A+. So it is recommended. The price is upscale but it's ok for such an occasion.

The location is of course sensational, as are the prices. However, the quality of the food is such that it is okay. A visit is worth it. It's important to book in advance, otherwise you'll sit in the second row and unfortunately have little of the panoramic view of Leipzig.

An absolute must when you are in Leipzig.

The restaurant is at 29th floor of the building and has a nice panoramic view of the city. We had only a coffee and Käsekuchen for 4€ piece. From the level of the restaurant you can clime to a panoramic platform for 5€ per person. Definitely the restaurant depends more on the view than on serving, a bit overestimated in my opinion. There was strong smell coming out of the kitchen also.

Overall it was a bit disappointing. The ambience reminded me more of GDR design, as did the service unfortunately. One waiter was very reserved with his politeness and the others were in the routine stress of work. The cake slices were good average and the coffee was good. The prices are due to the view. But for the view I would prefer the viewing platform and choose another restaurant. There are many and more beautiful ones in Leipzig.

We had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant and were served by an extremely friendly and attentive waitress. Unfortunately, my originally chosen main dish “risotto and cauliflower” did not meet my personal preferences. His dish “roast venison with blackcurrant” was excellently prepared and tasted to the point. In summary, I highly recommend this restaurant. The combination of professional service, hospitality and excellent cuisine convinced us. We'd love to come back!

We had dinner here with international colleagues in the evening. The food and especially the view while eating were fantastic. However, the waiter was very unfriendly and arrogant, he lectured a colleague on how to put the cutlery in a restaurant, he lectured another colleague who asked what a Gugelhupf was in an arrogant way and finally asked why he didn't know what it was Even though he is older... When his colleague asked him to serve the salmon well done, he replied whether she didn't know that salmon is always well done. Unfortunately it went on like this the whole evening. We would like to come back because of the good food and the ambience, but we won't come to this waiter again.

We went to the tower for brunch, the view while eating was great, the waitresses were always very helpful and friendly. The food was good and there was a wide selection in unfortunately too little space. Unfortunately, the dessert in the glass was already gone around 12 p.m. The space between the tables is also a bit too narrow.

Dieses Restaurant wirbt gehobenen Niveau und wird diesem leider überhaupt nicht gerecht. Tisch war reserviert und Deko Geburtstag bestellt, war leider nicht eingedeckt. Das Personal meinte da müssen wir nochmal 20 Minuten raus, da jetzt niemand Zeit dafür hätte. Es ging dann um 20.00 Uhr los, dass sehr viele Gäste kamen und das Personal total überfordert war. Teilweise unfreundlich und der Service war sehr schlecht für diese Preise und Niveau. Auch schon vor dem Betreten des Restaurants war ich über die Sauberkeit in den Toiletten und auch beim Einlass zum Restaurant sehr enttäuscht. Die Aussicht reicht leider bei diesen Preisen nicht. Das Essen war lecker. Bitte schulen Sie ihren Service.

Zum 1.Mal mit Blick über LE. Die Erwartungen waren groß und wurden leider nicht erfüllt. Die Auswahl war ausreichend. Kaffee wurde ständig nach geschänkt. Die Qualität des Frühstücks ließ allerdings zu wünschen übrig. U.a. war die Salami von der billigsten Sorte. 10cm Durchmesser und halbiert die erste Enttäuschung. Der Räucherlachs war ok und reichlich. Aufgefüllt wurde zügig. Das warme Mittagessen - angefangen von der Suppe - bis zur Hauptspeise nur lauwarm ! Geschmacklich - für mein empfinden - nur Durchschnitt. Für 45 € p.P. kann man mehr erwarten. Mit Zusatzgetränken 135,- € heftig. Fazit: Ich hab es mal erlebt - den schönen Blick über Leipzig.

To celebrate the birthday of someone very special, I made a reservation in advance and visited on Sunday at 12 PM. As I approached the Panorama Tower, I easily found the entrance thanks to the blue and red signs placed in succession. Before taking the elevator, I checked the floor guide attached to the lobby wall, which allowed us to go directly to the 29th floor. The restaurant, located on a high floor, had a wall made entirely of windows, allowing warm sunlight to naturally brighten the interior. The overall decor of the establishment was modern yet simple. The staff were all friendly, and the taste of the food was satisfactory. While the dishes weren't extraordinary or perfect, they were made with fresh ingredients and seemed to reflect care in their preparation, which was enjoyable. The cost for lunch for two came to 110.70 euros, which, to be honest, felt a bit burdensome compared to my usual spending habits. However, considering that it was a special day for us and that we could enjoy a more upscale meal while appreciating the panoramic view for about two hours in a very comfortable setting, I thought it was reasonable as an occasional dining experience for a special occasion. One thing I would like to mention is that it would be great if a bit more attention could be paid to the cleanliness of the restrooms.

It can be summarized as: A lot of appearances - little behind them. Unfortunately, the quality of the food does not reflect the price. Hard vegetables, little taste. There were 6 of us with 4 different dishes, the same everywhere! The facility is “shabby” and in need of renovation. Holes in the benches, dirty chair covers and a train station atmosphere. The service staff was friendly and tried hard, with piercings and an inn address also not appropriate to the wannabe level. Unfortunately it was the last visit for a long time!

Had coffee ☕️ and cake 🎂 on the 29th floor, it was okay, the view was nice, everything was organized, so please don't do an individual review
