I have repeatedly had very negative experiences there. The staff is extremely unfriendly, and one does not feel welcome as a guest. The person at reception/cashier, in particular, is very cold and disrespectful towards customers. Furthermore, I was addressed in an insulting tone during a telephone conversation, which I found extremely inappropriate. Worst kebab I've ever eaten in my life. The meat was still salad, and it seemed like it was two days old, so it was truly the worst kebab in all of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Ate it for the first time and ate it for the last time, it's a real catastrophe. I recommend you not to go there, the meat is raw and the salad is disgusting, it's a real catastrophe.

Unfortunately, I have to say, it was the dirtiest place I've ever been to. A very unhygienic restaurant. There were rats under our table, and the taste was absolutely terrible. We were very disappointed. Not recommended.

A shop whose convivial atmosphere truly invites you to linger. Since I'd had virtually no contact with Afghan food up until now, the owner immediately suggested something delicious (mantu). The food was prepared very quickly and tasted delicious. If you're not in the mood for Afghan cuisine, you can always order a doner kebab as an alternative (for only €5); the price alone justifies this rating!

Was here with the whole family and had starters, main course and dessert, everything was very tasty 😋 Highly recommended!!!!

Very disappointing – unfortunately, not recommended We ate at this restaurant, and our visit was a huge disappointment overall. The food took a very long time to arrive, even though it was barely busy. When it finally arrived, the fries were far too hard and inedible. After we asked for new ones, they simply placed new fries in front of us – this time with absolutely no salt, seasoning, or any flavor. It seemed uncaring and careless. My dürüm was rock-hard, almost like a brick, and definitely not fresh. Even worse was the sauce – it tasted like it was out of date. This completely ruined the experience and really took away my appetite. We also felt unwell from the staff. They were inattentive, barely responsive, and overall gave a very indifferent impression. For a restaurant that offers food and service, this is absolutely unacceptable. We will definitely not be returning and unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant to anyone.

I only gave it 5 stars 🌟 so people would see my post. I ate there last week and immediately got diarrhea. I've notified the police.

The "sherr yakh" (Afghan ice cream) was disastrous! Each ice cream cost €13.50, and it barely tasted like real sheer yakh. He also gave us too little change and said, "No, I gave you the money." Truly not recommended.

Pamir Grill is my favorite among the restaurants on Essen's kebab mile. The restaurant offers a wide selection of fast food and traditional Afghan dishes. On my last visit, I was in a hurry, so I had to limit myself to a kebab. The kebab was very tasty. The meat was well-seasoned, and the salad was fresh. While the tzatziki sauce seemed homemade, I find it a shame that the hot sauce is probably industrial. Nevertheless, the value for money was great. The owner of Pamir Grill is very friendly, as are the staff. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. The ambiance could honestly be improved. Both the restaurant and the restrooms are very clean. I hope to return soon, as I really want to try the Sher Yakh (Afghan ice cream).

The food was cold and bolani just tasted like dough.

There service was very disappointing, specially the guy who prepares the Ice Cream (Shiryakh). He brought the Ice Cream before the meal and didn’t accept our request to make it delay for after meal. The Ice Cream was very expensive and poor quality.

Was there today for the first time and also the last time. You wait over 30 minutes for the food, then it usually arrives wrong and guests who were there later get their food beforehand, the food is not seasoned at all and the portion isn't really big. The portions are far too small for the large price. Only non-Afghans know that the food there is too expensive for the price.

The food was good, we ordered via Uber. However, part of the order was not delivered. The restaurant took no responsibility even though we reported it. That's why we won't be ordering there anymore. Cash was not accepted by the restaurant and we had paid in advance.

The food is okay so far. I didn't try the entire menu. It takes almost an hour to read it. The older waitress is hardworking. It's a shame he had to serve so many tables on his own. The kitchen staff, especially one, should pay more attention. You can hear what's being said very well. Don't lose face, as the saying goes. And listening helps. However, the prices are completely unreasonable. At least you should get free tea at the end of your meal. Every other restaurant offers free tea. Especially if you have prices like that, you should offer it. I urge you not only to raise your prices every day, but also to bring customers back on board. Most would rather go to the competition!!

We were happy to have discovered an Afghan shop. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The hygiene leaves a lot to be desired, prices don't match what is presented to you. Unfortunately the service is not attentive either. The chatni was very tasty, but everything else was not recommended. Even the fries weren't edible. It's a shame, because Afghan cuisine has so much to offer.

One star is already too many. The food doesn't taste good at all and always arrives cold. The prices are very high, far too expensive. The employees are very unfriendly. A man with a beard acts like the boss - maybe he is - but you can't treat customers the way he does. He has no idea how to properly deal with customers.

It has caused severe stomach problems and even food poisoning. Hygiene didn't seem to be fully maintained either. It was a very disappointing experience. Please make sure that you do not reserve cold meat, otherwise you will have serious intestinal and stomach problems.

I had a truly disappointing experience at Pamir Restaurant in Essen. While the man at the counter was friendly, the woman who served us was extremely disrespectful and unpleasant. To make matters worse, she even used offensive language in Dari at the end of our meal, which I understood. The food also didn’t justify the high prices at all. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I would strongly advise avoiding this place.

I often drive an hour to Essen to eat because of the delicious food. The dishes are great and the service could be better. The decor in the store is great, the music is great, everything is great🇦🇫🫶🏻

Nice staff and a great oriental feeling. Be sure to try the Sheer Yakh (authentic Afghan ice cream). The ice cream is produced in-house. In my opinion, the price is still low for this craftsmanship. Enjoy it

We ordered ice cream for 2 people and had to wait 30 minutes for the ice cream. Menu without price list. Ice cream for 2 people cost us €15. Since we didn't want a discussion, we just left. No recommendation.

Was there a few days ago, unfortunately the dumplings (mantu) didn't taste good at all, too much onions and not enough sauce. The lamb was very dry and hardly edible, but it was very tasty with the rice (Qabuli). I would come again for the rice, the rest was unsatisfactory.

There was a hair in the food and the 2 waitresses were very, very rude! Unable to eat was also terrible. I'd love to fire the two girls, they should do their job properly, they'll scare away all the customers! And everything is very expensive.

Very bad service, the food is very bad quality, we ordered Samosas that wasn’t edible, we told them that it’s very bad and they still charged us for it, very bad experience, save your money and find a better place to have your dinner at.

Most of the food in the restaurant was very tasty, although the service could be improved. I still expect respectful treatment from the owner. However, the device set up to attract children only seems to be a money drain. When you address these issues, all you hear is “What should I do?” In my opinion, this is not appropriate behavior for an owner.

So I don't know where to start. The food itself was supposed to arrive after azan, arrived 20 minutes earlier apart from the fact that Shiites and Sunnis do Iftar differently. As I said, the food was cold, it was sent back and it was supposed to arrive warm and the meat was completely dry and inedible. There was a hair in the rice when we were almost finished eating because it was between the rice and we saw it later. We were told not to complain because we saw it for free and supposedly wanted it for free. He was then totally unfriendly and not willing to accept guests at all. Instead of us choosing our own seat, he ordered us to sit where he wanted. So honestly! I come here to eat often but from now on this place will be cancelled.

The restaurant is highly overrated and exorbitantly priced. To add insult to injury, the BBQ platters they served us were cold and stale. In all my BBQ experiences, I had never encountered anything as underwhelming as this.

Das Brot war nicht selbstgemacht und Fleisch musste man suchen in der Tasche. Für den Preis von 6.50€ pro Tasche kann man mehr erwarten als eine hauchdünne Schicht von Fleisch. Ich hätte noch 2-3 von diesen Dönern essen können. Mehr als ein Snack ist dies nicht. Ambiente ist gut und Bedienung war freundlich. Schade eigentlich, dass man den Döner dann so dürftig belegt.

very disappointed of their dishes.. it was salty and they had also forgotten to bring all the recipes that we ordered. it was rather dirty inside and the toilets too. the Pizza had too much Cheese and very less detailed. the Kebabs over the rice was also half bake, the rice itself had a weird unreal taste and it was more unlike to the Afghani culture way of serving rice along with Kebab. salat tasted like it was about to expire.. so overall, in opinion of mine and my family, we will never go to this place anymore eventho we live around here.

Wir haben heute zum zweiten Mal bei Pamir bestellt und es ist einfach nur lecker! Die Portionen sind eher groß. Auch ein Mann mit viel Hunger wird auf jeden Fall satt. (Wir hatten jeweils Gerichte mit Reis)
