Locale moderno, pulito e accogliente. Carne buonissima e servizio super cordiale. Goran è stato molto disponibile e ci ha consigliato dei piatti veramente buoni. Siamo capitati qui per un viaggio di lavoro e, vista la qualità dei prodotti, siamo tornati ben 2 volte in 4 giorni. Sicuramente ci torneremo, Super consigliato!

Die Lokation befindet sich unmittelbar gegenüber vom Rhein. Das Ambiente als auch der elitäre Service ist mehr als einladend und man hat das Gefühl angekommen zu sein und mit einem großen Wohlbefinden essen zu können. Der Kellner Georg ist ein Meister seiner Arbeit der sowohl italienisch , griechisch, Englisch als auch Deutsch sprich. Er konnte und uns ein heimisches Gefühl der Gastfreundschaft und der Sprache überliefern. Seine Vielfalt und seine Aufmerksamkeit während des Services hat den Geschmack des Essens vollkommen unterstrichen.

The atmosphere right on the Rhine is very nice and the quality of the meat is very good. The rosemary potatoes were rather cold and so was the pepper sauce. I honestly expected more for this price range. The service wasn't the best either - plates were left out for a very long time. And only bottles of beer for 1 Kölsch €0.33 €5.40 that is usury and in the end not draft beer. So yes, a good steakhouse but way too expensive for the service tonight, sorry.

Food was okay but service was incredibly rude. We were two little women and just wanted to eat several appetizers instead of a huge steak. That made the waiter very nervous. Am I not allowed to eat whatever and how much I want? This especially happens in a luxury restaurant. We'll never go there again.

We were able to spend a wonderful evening with a view of the Rhine. The meat was super tender and the side dishes were seasoned perfectly. Goran served us excellently and read all our wishes from our lips. Lovely again!

Only the prices were royal at this location. In our opinion, the steaks are almost all about 10-15 EUR overpriced, not to mention the price-performance ratio for the wine. And if you order a steak medium rare, you might expect it to be the same in this setting, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Since we had a very unpleasant incident at the end of our dinner, it was decided NOT to leave a tip because the service towards the end unfortunately did not meet our expectations at all. Our wish to enjoy the last nightcap in the front row with a view of the Rhine in the evening in an almost empty restaurant was denied us with incomprehensible arguments. We were then almost forced to finally give a tip, but no means no, whereupon the waiter angrily turned away from us in the direction of "Boss" and then brought him in as reinforcement in the discussion. By the way, we weren't the only guests with this problem that evening. Ultimately, all discussions came to nothing. It's a shame, but there are also other very good steakhouses with really good service, where such small things with a big impact are quickly resolved in the interests of the guest.

Went there for the first time with a business friend and had very high expectations based on the very good reviews, which were completely met! We were assigned a premium table by the window with a great view of the Rhine, the service was there immediately and brought the menu and asked whether the water should be medium or still. When it came to the wine selection, a good recommendation was made (Barolo) without exuberantly praising the most expensive wine on the menu. As a starter we order the prawns in garlic (very tasty with the right, strong amount of garlic) and as the main course a fillet and a rump steak. Both cooked to perfection, of very good meat quality and therefore very tender with a good taste. A shared cheese plate rounded off the very successful dinner. Goran, as promised, a special word to you: You tried very, very hard to look after us and I won't forget the fact that you even had your dinner at the end (we had lamb loin lettuces for him that looked great and tasted even better!). You don't experience something like that every day... there were five of us there for dinner. The food was of a very good quality. The wine selection was good, but not overly varied. A good Châteauneuf-du-Pape costs around 16.00 euros in well-stocked specialist shops, here 78.00 euros. A rogue who thinks evil here... I am attaching a picture of selected wine prices to the wine list, the owner probably thinks that no guests come here who understand anything about wine and its prices. But you just have to accept that, you can also drink a 0.33 Heineken (from the bottle) for a petty 5.60 euros. After a tasty meal that cost several hundred euros and the restaurant was now half empty, we wanted to have a night cap at a free table with a view of the Rhine. We and guests at other tables were denied this without any understandable reason. Conclusion: good food at completely exorbitant prices and an arrogant owner are enough to avoid the restaurant in the future. It would be important here that the guest is again in the foreground and not the euro notes in the eyes of the owner.

Went there for dinner on Friday during our Cologne weekend. As the stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 say, it was really good. Depending on the table, the restaurant has a wonderful view of the Rhine, is extremely tastefully designed and furnished, and the reception is professional. The most important thing is of course the food and here our expectations were exceeded. The starter, a fish soup and an avocado-salmon tartare, the main course Chateaubriand for two people and a New York cheesecake for dessert. It was really great. Anyone who loves meat will not be disappointed here, on the contrary. An equally balanced and exquisite wine list, everyone will find something to suit their taste and budget. Of course, all the delicacies come at a price, you have to be able to enjoy them. Also worth mentioning is the service, male domain, present but not intrusive. Goran (I hope spelled correctly 😃) was responsible for our table and the service was excellent. If we do the Cologne Stadium again, another visit is likely. So, keep it up and many happy guests. However, I just wanted to reserve a table by the window...unfortunately not possible because there is a risk that the guests won't come. Locale molto bello in riva al fiume. Cena di lavoro con finestre aperte ed un’atmosfera non così consueta a Colonia. Lifestyle all’italiana. L’ottimo Goran, italiano adottato per la simpatia, ci ha seguito ottimamente nella scelta della carne cucinata in maniera egregia. Ottimo anche il dessert. I can only recommend Ox Royal. The ambience is great, the service is great and the food is really good. The best steak I've eaten so far. Highly priced, yes, but not too expensive for what you get. If you want to treat yourself to something, go to Ox Royal.

We went there for the first time on Tuesday and it was perfect! The meat literally melts in your mouth, just a dream! We had the filet mignon in the gentle man's cut in medium and the beef fillet in the macho's cut in medium rare. With the baked potato and the salad, both were lavish fillers - but we were a little sad when we finished eating - the meat was just so incredibly good that you wished it would never end. The service was also excellent. Attentive but never intrusive. We were warmly welcomed and said goodbye again. The view of the Rhine at sunset is another highlight when you enjoy your beer or wine after your meal. We live a little further away, but the trip was 100% worth it! We'd love to come back when we're in Cologne again.

Actually there is nothing to complain about here. The location is great. Great service, great ambience and very tasty food. I think it's a bit too expensive in terms of price. 10-15% cheaper and there is absolutely nothing to complain about here. A clear recommendation!

Great steakhouse right on the Rhine. After we weren't so happy on Valentine's Day because the tables were far too narrow and you could hear conversations left and right, we gave the restaurant a second chance. This time everything was perfect and our table right by the window was a dream. Just right on our wedding day. The food and service were perfect.

Amazing restaurant in a great spot on the river bank. Decent amount of parking available up and down the street. Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in. Our waiter, Mr. Goran, was friendly, knowledgeable and very quick. We felt we were taken care of very well. Food was sublime. Absolutely recommed the chateaubriand - we frequent this steakhouse semi-regularly and it's what I always get. Das Steakhaus OX Royal rangiert hier auf Tripadvisor aktuell (April 2024) auf Rang 2 von 1.718 Restaurants in Köln. Ein beeindruckendes Ranking! Für mich Grund genug, dem Restaurant einmal einen Besuch abzustatten. Meine Erwartungshaltung war entsprechend hoch. Das OX Royal befindet sich auf der Uferstraße im Kölner Stadtteil Rodenkirchen. Das Gebäude ist von außen etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Kein Prachtbau! Die Inneneinrichtung ist jedoch sehr stilvoll und gediegen. Eine große Fensterfront zeigt direkt auf den Rhein. Ein großartiges Ambiente (vor allem, wenn es einem gelingt, einen der begehrten Fensterplätze zu ergattern)! Bei der Vorspeise fiel meine Wahl auf das Beef-Tatar (zu 20,80 € für 80 Gramm), beim Hauptgericht auf das Rinderfilet (zu 53,80 € für 200 Gramm). Beim Wein habe ich mich für ein Glas Malbec (Reserva, Bodega Sottano im Weinanbaugebiet Mendoza, Argentinien) entschieden (zu 8,90 € für 0,2 Liter). Das Beef-Tatar war enttäuschend! Geschmacklich allenfalls Durchschnitt. Das geht deutlich besser, wie mein Besuch wenige Tage zuvor im Steakhaus "The Lox" in Düsseldorf belegt. Dort wurde Beef-Tatar serviert, mit dem das im OX Royal in keiner Weise mithalten kann. Und zum fast gleichen Preis (zu 19,90 €) gab es dort die doppelte Menge (180 Gramm). Sorry Köln! Dafür hat das Steakhaus in Düsseldorf andere Macken. Das Rinderfilet war hingegen ausgezeichnet! Qualitativ hochwertiges Fleisch perfekt gegart. Wunderbar! Der Preis von 53,80 € für 200 Gramm ist hoch, er relativiert sich aber dadurch, dass im Preis zwei Beilagen enthalten sind. In anderen Steakhäusern ist Fleisch der gleichen Qualität für rund 40,- € zu haben. Man zahlt dort aber oftmals für jede Beilage gesondert und gelangt letztlich auf einen ähnlichen Preis wie im OX Royal. Den Preisunterschied merkt letztlich nur, wer eigentlich auf Beilagen verzichten möchte und sie nur nimmt, weil sie im Preis enthalten sind. Der Malbec passte zum Rinderfilet sehr gut. Von den vier offenen Rotweinen auf der Weinkarte sicherlich die beste Wahl und mit 8,90 € preislich absolut in Ordnung. Kurios: Das OX Royal weist auf seiner Webseite darauf hin, keine "Sitzplatzwünsche" entgegenzunehmen. Man kann also keinen Tisch an der Fensterfront zum Rhein reservieren. Das ist eine eher unübliche Vorgehensweise. Die meisten Restaurants lassen bei der Reservierung auch den Wunsch nach einem bestimmten Tisch zu (wenn man denn weiß, welchen Tisch man haben möchte). Für ein First Date scheidet das OX Royal damit aus. Denn als Mann muss man steuern können, an welchem Tisch man in einem Restaurant diniert. Da sollte man nichts dem Zufall überlassen. Fazit: Das OX Royal ist ein sehr gutes Restaurant im Kölner Süden, wenn man auf das Beef-Tatar als Vorspeise verzichtet. Für eine Fünf-Sterne-Bewertung hier auf Tripadvisor reicht es aber nicht. Preislich muss man mit 100,- € bis 120,- € pro Person rechnen.

The establishment is very atmospheric and beautiful. Even the toilet 😀 The food was brought quickly and hot. The shrimp arrived undercooked, but upon remark they were quickly replaced. And the chef himself brought it. It was nice. The staff is friendly. I will gladly return to this restaurant again.

Mangiato con una mia collega in questo ristorante dopo avere accettato un suggerimento di trip advisor Confermo che la scelta è stata veramente azzeccata! Ristorante bellissimo e molto curato all’interno, attenzione ai dettagli e alla cura della tavola. Ristorante consigliato per la loro selezione di piatti di carne / grill. Ho assaggiato una zuppa di pomodoro, molto delicata e una tagliata di vitella. Carne buonissima e veramente tenera come un burro. Il prezzo a mio avviso troppo alto. Abbiamo speso in due 160€ (la mia tagliata senza grosse particolarità di condimento quasi 60€ !!). Quindi tutto buonissimo veramente ma troppo caro. Siamo lontano dal centro in un posto un po’ sperduto sul Reno, quindi il prezzo anche per questo poco giustificato. Buona selezione di vini. Per il resto veramente tutto impeccabile, dal piattino con pane e salse come piccolo aperitivo iniziale al servizio molto veloce, preciso e professionale Molto bene, complimenti

Das Restaurant ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und die Tische am Fenster bieten einen tollen Blick auf den Rhein. Der Service ist überaus freundlich und bemüht, fragt regelmäßig, ob alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit sei. Das Essen war sehr gut, vor allem unser Chateaubriand. Selten haben wir ein so zartes Stück Fleisch gegessen. Kleine Abstriche, deshalb nur 4 Sterne (oder "Jammern auf hohem Niveau"): Die Vorspeise kam uns persönlich zu schnell, fast zusammen mit Brot und Kräuterbutter. Dabei wollten wir den Abend in Ruhe genießen. Das Kartoffelgratin zu dem Chateaubriand war nicht ganz so unser Geschmack, die Kartoffeln schon ziemlich weich, die Kruste aus Semmelbröseln (?). Die Bearnaise ist während des Essens leider "abgehauen ". Die Preise sind wirklich recht, vielleicht ein wenig zu hoch. Für 3 Garnelen (allerdings halbiert, sodass man den Eindruck hatte, das Pfännchen beinhalte 6 Garnelen) werden z. B. 18,80 € aufgerufen. Aber absolutes no go: die Preise, die man im Internet findet, stimmen mit den aktuellen Preisen nicht überein. So kostet das Chateubriand auf der Homepage 105,80 €, aktuell jedoch 123,80 €. Bei gefühlt allen Gerichten wurden knapp 20% aufgeschlagen! Nichtsdestotrotz hatten wir einen schönen und "geschmackvollen" Abend.

Anlässlich eines runden Geburtstags waren wir auf eine Empfehlung hin zum ersten Mal im Ox Royal. Highlights: - schönes Ambiente - kostenfreier kleiner Gruß aus der Küche. Leckeres, frisches Brot mit zwei verschiedenen Dips, Brot wurde sogar bei Bedarf erneuter Nachschub gebracht - sensationell leckere Steaks, egal ob Entrecote oder Rumpsteak. Für uns das beste Steak ever, sogar besser als die übertrieben hochpreisigen Steaks in der Sansibar Sylt. Absolut leckerer, luftig lockerer Quark zur Ofenkartoffel! - herausragend gut gefallen hat uns der uns zugewiesene Kellner: Goran 💞 Bei Empfang wurden uns die Jacken und Mäntel freundlicher Weise abgenommen und in einer Garderobe deponiert. Er hatte stets einen lockeren lustigen Spruch auf den Lippen und scherzte mit uns. Es wurde sich stets erkundigt, ob bei uns alles in Ordnung ist oder etwas fehlt. Er war in keinster Weise aufdringlich. Wir haben uns in seiner Gegenwart sehr wohl gefühlt und das hat den Großteil dazu beigetragen, neben den leckeren Speisen, dass es ein für uns gelungener und schöner Abend wurde und wir eine tolle Zeit im Ox Royal hatten. Fazit: Selten haben wir so gut und lecker gespeist und uns durch einen Kellner so wohl gefühlt. 😍 Wir werden auf JEDEN Fall wieder kommen. Einziger kleiner Minuspunkt ist die Lage und die Parkplatzsituation. Es war etwas schwierig und der PKW musste weiter entfernt abgestellt werden. Doch das ist in Großstädten leider nicht unüblich. 😒

Erstklassiges Restauranterlebnis. Wahrlich Das Steakhaus am Rhein!

Laut Tripadvisor ist das OX Royal die Nr. 2 von fast 1.800 Restaurants in Köln. Entsprechend hoch waren die Erwartungen, und die wurden ein ganz klein wenig enttäuscht. Das Rindertartar für knapp 20 € war ohne viel Schnickschnack angerichtet und hat geschmacklich überzeugt. Das 400g Rumpsteak für 50 € war zwar sehr gut von der Qualität, aber vom Garpunkt nicht ganz auf den Punkt getroffen und daher etwas unter den hohen Erwartungen. Der New York Cheesecake hat ebenfalls gut geschmeckt (9,80 €), ich hätte mir aber mehr Dessertkreationen gewünscht, nicht nur die üblichen Klassiker. Die Weinauswahl war sehr groß und hat überzeugt. Das Servicepersonal war sehr freundlich, hatte aber auch viel zu tun. Vom Ambiente her ist das OX Royal top. Wenn man einen Platz im Wintergarten reserviert, der im Sommer offen ist, kann man direkt auf den Rhein schauen. Da das Restaurant im 1. Stock liegt, kann auch nicht viel die schöne Aussicht stören. Vorherige Reservierung ist empfehlenswert, Kreditkartenzahlung wird akzeptiert.

Exelent gespeist, gehobene Küche, top Service und sehr schönes Ambiente mit Blick auf den Rhein 3-Gänge Menü 85,- 4-Gänge Menü 99,- Sehr zu empfehlen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall noch einmal essen gehen

Mir hat es sehr gut da gefallen, der Service war nett und freundlich, hat ein jeden Wunsch von den Lippen gelesen. Das essen war sehr lecker , hochwertige Produkte, und sehr gut verarbeitet. Preis Leistung: für mein Geschmack, ist der Preis zu hoch angesetzt, allerdings muss Man sagen die Lage am Rhein ist schon traumhaft.

Der Besuch in diesem Restaurant war ein angenehmer Zufall. Das Ambiente ist zeitgemäß und stilvoll, der Service äußerst freundlich und aufmerksam, und die Gespräche waren herzlich, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Da das Restaurant vom Inhaber geführt wird, spürt man sofort eine entspannte Atmosphäre. Die Qualität der Produkte war frisch und ausgezeichnet. Alles in allem kann ich das Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Zwar sind die Preise etwas höher im Vergleich zu anderen Steakrestaurants, aber ich finde, dass sie gerechtfertigt sind, besonders angesichts des Gesamtbilds und der ausgezeichneten Lage. Meinen herzlichen Glückwunsch an die Betreiber und das Personal, die solch eine großartige Location führen bzw. dort arbeiten dürfen

Warm welcoming when entering. The appetizers are forgettable, absolutely not outstanding in taste (octopus came out cold, on the calamari the garlic was overpowering the taste of the calamari, it was so garlicky that the dish became bitter). The steaks are great cooked perfectly to the requested temperature. Béarnaise sauce came out already split, which was surprising because it was served warm not too hot. Side salad was also nothing outstanding in taste. Service feels a bit cold sometimes. I wish there would be a wider and BETTER selection of open red wines favoring to guests who can’t drink an entire bottle of red alone (no half bottles possible). The price point doesn’t match the quality.
