Osmans Töchter in Berlin

Fantastic food and Raki. Osmans Töchter is one of my favourite restaurants in Berlin. They serve Turkish food with a modern twist.

Second time we were here for dinner and both times it was a 10/10!! They have a lot of vegan options, even vegan bread. We tried almost all of them and there wasn‘t one we didn’t like. They are all so tasty. Full of flavour, fresh and just really good. The staff was also so kind, we felt very welcomed and had a great evening :)

The hype is real! Located in Prenzlberg, Recommended by Zeit, SZ and what else do I know of other media companies from “Wokistan” (#Satire - please don’t get me wrong 😅) … what could go wrong? Nosh! The concierge is extremely pleasantly friendly, accommodating, customer-oriented... scary - where has the Berlin aggro gone... a lot has happened in the last few years and Osman's daughter's cousin at the reception is the king of nouvelle friendliness. Cool! We speak English... one or the other perfectly... it didn't matter to us, we're fine with both. The entire staff, with plenty of people bustling around the tables, is always nice and tries to make sure you are taken care of. Ambiance - doll kitchen meets 60s Istanbul meets warm colors, meets pragmatism and the rusted back wall at the top is very elegant, shabby chic. The backyard is also very cute. Wine - decent selection… especially smart, inexpensive alternatives to the “Ballermanns” Essen - Njaaaaa… maybe, if necessary, the somewhat critical spirits and previous reviewers could be right in their intersubjective reality at one point or another…. As far as price performance is concerned. But it's all about nuances... It was very, very good - it's not a revelation in the sense of the hype - but still... I like the overall package, from the friendliness, the openness, the stylish taste in the interior design and the whole flavor that is fervently exuded here. You should definitely do it!

An absolute recommendation, very nicely and comfortably furnished, the reception alone was super friendly and you felt welcome, the meal was a feast for the palate, the cold starters were great, the freshly baked, still warm bread was incredibly good, the warm main courses rounded it off Super tasty and top service, can only recommend it! Very nice restaurant with an indoor area and a terrace in the courtyard and on the street. The service is friendly, fast and courteous. The dishes are perfect for sharing in a group. There is a large selection of vegetarian and meat-based dishes, all of which taste very good. In my opinion, authentic cuisine with really delicious dishes. Reservation is recommended.

Wow, what a wonderful evening! Four of us had reserved a table and were warmly welcomed. Our service was always friendly and attentive. We all enjoyed the food very much, the absolute highlight was the sea bass ceviche with truffle oil. You can really spend a lovely evening here and feast.

We love it at Osman's Daughters and are always happy to come back. What sets Osman's Daughters apart is not just the authentic and super tasty food (everything freshly prepared) but also the service and the coziness. The mezze are “to die for”. Every time my 85 year old mother visits Berlin she asks if we can go to Osman's Daughters 😉. We have many wonderful memories of the many times we have been here, whether as a couple or with family or friends. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

A few years ago it was super great and incredibly tasty, but now the food was just disappointing. Boring and loveless. Ambience was quite nice.

The restaurant for Turkish meze, cold and warm, everything delicious and great for sharing. Lots of vegetarian options. I was soooo full afterwards. I recommend making a reservation.

Only appetizers and drinks are served. We were a little hungry and went to fill up for dinner, but there was no main course. We ordered appetizers, they were delicious but a little small.

The food is ok, and if you get a seat in the back yard it's relatively quiet. The fact that the cold and hot dishes are served so far apart reduces the joy of eating. Once is enough for me.

I am very satisfied every time I come here with my family and friends. We recently went here for the first time for a business lunch for 12 people and the food and service were excellent and they were very helpful in organizing it. They fulfilled our every wish and communication was always very good. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for meze style Turkish food.

Amazing! Delicious food: the Tarama, the Lamb, OMG! And although the place was almost overcrowded, the staff was very friendly and the service went smoothly.

The portions were small but delicious compared to the average. Although it was a little expensive, it had many positive aspects, the service was very good, the place was very clean, it can always be preferred for an enjoyable dinner.

LOVE. Flavourful food, fast service, good location. Chef’s kiss 👌 As a Turkish person from Izmir living in Berlin, I had given up hope on finding good Turkish food in all its diversity here (ie. Turkish cuisine does not just consist of döner/kebabs!). Delighted to be proven wrong by the diverse and fun menu at Osmans Töchter! Ceviche a la turca was our favourite. Dolma could have been bell pepper or dry aubergine dolma or courgette flower, rather than courgette dolma, but not bad. The pitta bread was sooo good. 8 sharing dishes for 4 of us was quite a lot, could have done without the salad in the middle and maybe just 6 dishes to start with, then decide if we wanted more. Lastly, the mark up on the rakı was a bit wild 😱 A 35 cl bottle for €48?! Yikes. We got it nonetheless because it goes well with the food. Didn’t recognise any of the Turkish wine brands on the menu.

Tasty contemporary Turkish cuisine hard to find elsewhere. The team is also lovely and the service friendly but impeccable.

Osman would disinherit his daughters if he found out how expensive they were charging. Food is ok, but nothing more. I have to take out a loan now and I'm still hungry. But service was great. At least Osman taught his children some manners if he raised them to be vultures

This restaurant offers truly original and tasty Turkish cuisine. 2 mezze per person are enough.

Very tasty Turkish-Mediterranean cuisine reimagined. The newly created dishes stand out from the familiar ones. The mentioned open cables on the ceiling are part of the style, still better than ceiling tiles. Service, as usual, just great. We recommend.

We have rarely felt so well looked after. The service is great, always attentive and forward-looking. And unfortunately my stomach is far too small for food - I would have liked to try a lot more. It's a shame there isn't more space, the daughters deserve it!

Great evening with friendly service.

The food was really delicious, it feels homemade and fresh, like you are visiting a friend who happens to be an excellent chef. We had four dishes, which was a good portion for two people.

Food was ok. Didn't always suit my taste. Prices are rather higher. Service was friendly and accommodating. Turkish restaurant in tapas style. This means you can try out many different dishes.

Disappointing. I paid €11 for 10 slices of zucchini and had to wait 60 minutes for it. When I wanted to order bread with it, it said bread would come twice. Once you've eaten it you can order more. When we ordered some later, it didn't come at all. The table was cleared while we were still eating. When I said sorry, we're still eating, the only comment I received was “take it easy”. The mineral water for €3.40 comes from Sodastream. When I was told that my zucchini and my sodastream water cost €15.60 and I said “okay then €15.60”, the price was announced repeatedly until I gave a tip. An impudence. Did I mention that the prices for these very small plates are really reasonable?

Very good food, lovely dining experience. Only wish a few items came in slightly larger portions.

Food prepared carelessly, hardly any spices, nothing special. The ambience is ok, but nothing special. The service was also ok at best. The waiter seemed unmotivated, not cordial. I would have given 3 stars if I AND the colleague with whom I ate here hadn't had food poisoning afterwards.

Great concept and very attentive service.

Nice food horrible service Came here with my boyfriend, enjoyed a nice meal with good food. We ordered quite a lot and also drank two Ayrans. After we payed the bill I was very thirsty so we asked the waitress for a glass of tap water. She refused saying we had to pay €1 for a tiny glass (picture attached). I think it’s a rude way to treat your customers AFTER they have generously consumed food and drink. It’s not like we didn’t order any drinks. Also it was 23:00 and the place was closing so it’s not like they were overwhelmed with customers. There are better places with better food where you can also get nice service :)

I’ve only heard great things about this restaurant, so I’ve been wanting to go for a while. It did not disappoint! The food options are great and there’s something for everyone. It is all fresh and delicious. The staff is super kind and attentive. They were also very caring about my allergy. The atmosphere is buzzing in there, and there’s so much attention to detail, eg with the lamps or pillows. You can either choose to sit indoors or outdoors.

Top service and one of the most authentic Turkish menus I was able to enjoy. The goat cheese, anchovies, octopus and kofta were excellent. I would particularly like to mention the zucchini with dill: top! The always available, confident and friendly service rounded off the evening.

This store is overpriced! The quantity/portions are disproportionate! This is a hipster store with extremely high prices! Usury! The interaction with the guests is far removed from the traditional warm Turkish hospitality. These dishes, with at least the same quality, can be found much cheaper in authentic Turkish restaurants.

I took a big group to this restaurant for a business dinner and everyone absolutely loved it! The food was incredible, great for sharing and super tasty. The atmosphere was great, the restaurant is bigger than it looks in the photos. And the service was super attentive and caring. Will defo be back again!

Everything was delicious. Especially the symphony and shakshuka are perfect… Yes, the prices are a bit high, but you would pay this money for quality real appetizers rather than paying that money for the appetizers served in standard German-Turkish restaurants.

Wonderfully tasty, refined and healthy dishes. Also great for vegetarians/vegans. We really liked the ambience, you can sit either in the back yard, on the sidewalk at the front or in the spacious indoor area. We will be back definitely! =)

Fancy place, but a little too loud. Kind of one you would take your parents to, when they‘re in town, but they hate loud places :-/ Thank god I went for food with friends who scream anyway. Best turkish restaurant in Dresden.

Simply delicious! The lamb dish was my favorite. Very tender and extremely favourable. Everything we ordered was tasty. Can't go wrong with this place.

We had a lovely evening with good wine and a colorful mix of cold and warm meze. It's not cheap and unfortunately some dishes weren't available. We personally didn't like one dish so the service responded promptly with a dessert! Really great, we didn't expect it at all.

Yesterday we waited 15 minutes for service to come by for the first time. Food was good, the warm dish (lamb) but almost cold. Today 10 minutes waiting time, then: "I'll ask if there's anything else available" - wait - instead of an answer: the next service comes "do you have a card yet?" then: “I’ll ask if there’s anything else.” Result - after a sufficiently long wait: no (of course not anymore).

The food is absolutely wonderful, the staff is very nice. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is the noise level in the restaurant. Not sure what is up with the acoustic there but even when there were no guests but us and one other table it was so incredibly loud in there I couldn't hear myself think. I will definitely come back, but only in summer when I can sit outside 😅

A lively, communicative place and an interesting, varied map. We particularly enjoyed the sardines and the caramelized onion. Definitely worth a visit.

Food is really good but if you can not eat your food in 2 hours, they will kick you out. Time limit is ridiculous 😪

Unfortunately I didn't have a particularly good experience The portions are small and overpriced. The food tastes okay and typical, authentically good Turkish cuisine offers much more than just what is on Osman's daughter's menu. You can find many of these restaurants in Kreuzberg, and of course they are also upscale.

We were there with six people and had reserved about two months in advance. The reception at this location was very good and I think we had the best table in the store. The whole thing was crowned with a delicious meal and there was nothing wrong with the price-performance ratio. I can only recommend this shop. Very good staff, very friendly, just great, thank you. We would be happy to come back.

Excellent Turkish Restaurant! Very tasty food and drinks. You can order cold and warm dishes, which are ideal for sharing. Very tasty, well seasoned, also suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Very friendly service and good value for money! Reservations are definitely recommended.

Osman's Daughters is a place you come to if you want to be or become happy. The food is poetry on a plate and the same applies to the ambience and the two owners Arzu and Lale. Go there, stay, come back.

I would definitely recommend this Turkish restaurant! I ordered Mercimek Köftesi, şakşuka and Osman's kebab. They were all tasty. I wish they had small taste size option for all the mezes so i could taste them all in one go.

Seems COMPLETELY overrated to me!! As a person, who has lived in Turkiye for some years, hoping to get authentic Turkish food with a little twist, this was quite a big disappointment. The food was nice, but super small portions to super high prices - and nothing special about it at all. The ambient was ok, but we didn't feel welcomed by the staff, to be honest. As Turkiye has such a welcoming culture, the place should definitely invest in training their staff in how to welcome and host their guests.

Wonderful Turkish inspired small dishes to share. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Interesting Turkish wine selection that you likely won't find many other places. Well worth the visit!

Had two nights in Berlin, one we got dinner here. I've never had Turkish tapas before but I'd love to have it again after how good it was at Osmans Tochter.

Too bad we can't give 6 stars for the service. We had an exceptional experience at this restaurant. We discovered it by chance during a walk in the neighborhood and were attracted by the high number of visitors to the restaurant. After consulting the map, we reserved it for the next day. Reservations are absolutely necessary, even for two people, as the restaurant is regularly crowded. In terms of food, we really liked EVERYTHING we ordered, starter and main course. The meal was crowned by very good quality service (broad smile from the waiter who communicates in several languages) Thank you for this great time!

A reservation with a credit card deposit? If you don't show up or don't cancel, a fee of 15 euros per person will be charged - it's a disgrace to ask for so much. And then food or processing every two hours, that's what I call mass processing. What's wrong with the place? My consequence is that I avoid making reservations there, let alone eating.

I want to clarify- I absolutely love this restaurant and keep going back with all my guests. I have never once had an average experience- it has always been excellent!! A restaurant that looks inconspicuous from the outside, but is very good in all respects. Although it was well attended, everything went very calmly and without any hectic pace. A very well-coordinated team.

We were a larger birthday group. Coordinating the menu in advance (a menu selection is recommended for groups of 10 or more) was uncomplicated and our wishes were well addressed. The food was incredibly tasty, there was plenty of everything served, no one went home hungry. The service was very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is so cozy - as if you were sitting in the living room with friends. All of our guests were there for the first time and were thrilled! We will come back in any case! Thank you for the great evening.

Yesterday we visited Osman's daughters for the first time and immersed ourselves in the delicious, very delicious world. The food is shared at the table, sharing the food and tasting as much as possible. A culinary delight. Visually and on the tongue. We shared 2 different dishes per person and it was enough for us. From lentils, fish mousse, lamb, meatballs or juicy chicken skewers, everything is recommended! Service very attentive and helpful. We'll definitely be back.

hi this is the only way I can reply to your comment. I was there on 25.03.2024, can prove that with a picture of myself at the place with the date. I only rated the place (based on my personal taste), without using a word that’d hurt or insult anyone. If anything, I am being accused of not being there and lying.

Edit due to the restaurants reply: been there, ate there, photo to prove. Was just unhappy and unsatisfied. Freedom of speech and all!

Terrible Experience - Osman's Töchter Puts Profit Above Hospitality. Osman's Töchter prioritizes profit above all else, showing a complete disregard for customer satisfaction and hospitality. I cannot recommend it to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience. Despite making a reservation for my best friend's birthday dinner, our evening was filled with numerous shortcomings that reflect the restaurant's primary focus on profit over hospitality. - The ambiance was far from inviting. The overcrowded seating arrangement, with tables practically touching each other, far from any sense of comfort or intimacy. You can see that the lack of thought in creating an atmosphere resulted in overwhelming noise of multiple conversations echoing throughout the space with no music to be heard. No music curation, no intention to create a vibe. - The service staff had a disregard for basic courtesy, appearing rushed, insensitive, rude. It was apparent that the restaurant may have been understaffed, a plausible explanation for the staff's behaviour. However, this does not excuse their rudeness towards customers. - As individuals with a deep appreciation and familiarity for Anatolian cuisine and mezze culture, (we all grew up in turkey) we were disappointed by the food quality. The dishes lacked authenticity and/or failed to offer any intriguing interpretations as well. Additionally, the portions were extremely small and over-priced - like a mere few tablespoons of cacık (Tzatziki) costing an unjustifiable 7 euros.. outrageous... - One particularly inconsistency was the inclusion of traditional rakı (turkish ouzo), on the menu. This beverage is traditionally enjoyed slowly, in the company of friends and family, alongside a leisurely dinner. However, the restaurant's rush to turn tables contradicted this ritualistic approach, leaving us feeling hurried and unwelcome - as they kicked us out of the restaurant in two hours before we had a chance to finish our food and drinks. (yes, this actually happened.) In the end, we paid way too much money for a couple mezzes that I would not even touch if they were served in turkey, got treated rudely, forced out of our table before our food and drinks were finished. I would not go there ever again and absolutely would not recommend anyone to go there. we should be able to get our money's worth in food, service and hospitality. they absolutely have no perception of any! It is evident that the establishment prioritizes profit margins over the satisfaction of its customers. As someone who values both quality cuisine and genuine hospitality, I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to others. It's regrettable that we were unable to enjoy our meal and celebration as we had hoped, and I have no intention of returning in the future.

The food was very tasty, but the prices, such as €8 for a handful of hummus, are just a disgrace.

I knew from the start that the price would be really high. This was fine with us as we were there for my birthday. But my experience ended up being disastrous. We ate a lot of things and then paid separately, which I think is very normal. However, in the end I realized that I paid a kebab and a grape leaf more. Of course something like that can happen. If you accept the mistake and correct it, it's not a big issue. But we wanted the proof. The waiter only brought one of them and said that he couldn't bring all the receipts because we paid separately and that was so rare for them. I really found that to be arrogant. If you only bring one receipt, you can't show that we paid for these dishes several times. But OK. Then I told the waiter what went wrong. He brought his boss (possibly the owner). When I explained my problem, he said that something like that couldn't happen in their system and invited me to the checkout to sort it out, which I found very embarrassing. I also find the statement “nothing wrong can happen” very bad because it means that we are lying. When we got to the checkout, I noticed that a payment wasn't recorded in the system at all. Luckily, our friend had paid by card and was able to prove this online via her bank account. Then the head waiter accepted the mistake and gave us our money back. But in such situations you should behave more kindly and before you say so confidently that everything in your system is perfect, you should check it. Because in the end we saw that their system wasn't above average at all. So far I have very rarely, but still, experienced something like this where you pay twice for something. But every time my counterpart accepted their mistakes because they noticed their mistakes very quickly. But this time the overall behavior was really unfriendly. Food was good, not perfect. Because of too much spice. Looks clean which is usually very, very important to me.
