It's truly wonderful what the owners of the Königs have created with their rustic charm. A very beautiful, rustic ambiance, excellent and plentiful food from the buffet, and attentive and incredibly friendly staff. The room temperature was also pleasantly warm. So why the one-star deduction? We were a group of eight seated at a comfortable beer garden table with backrests and furs, but one side of the table was right up against the wall. This meant that if those sitting at the back wanted to get to the buffet, everyone had to get up. This was a bit awkward for everyone and detracted from the cozy atmosphere.

Unfortunately, the main course arrived with the appetizer, and then the main course itself was very bad. Since someone was smoking in the next room and the smoke drifted into the main room, it was very unpleasant. A wasted evening.

The clubhouse with its own restaurant had a rustic and cozy atmosphere. The service was friendly and quick, the portions were generous, and there was a salad bar. Unfortunately, the food was generally under-seasoned – at the very least, it needed salt and pepper, and the salads could have used more vinegar. The carrot salad and dressing were too sweet for my taste, the potato salad was decent but could have been improved. The gravy was bland, and the roast pork seemed to have been cooked in the oven rather than braised, making it dry and tough instead of tender and juicy.

We visited the Pfauen during asparagus season. Naturally, we treated ourselves to asparagus dishes. The service staff was consistently attentive, friendly, and competent. The recommended wine paired perfectly with the asparagus. The food itself was first-class. I've never eaten asparagus cooked to such a perfect doneness. The Pfauen team truly knows their craft. We'll be back.

Waited there for a small vegetarian and vegan snack. The hummus and bread were very tasty; the men could tell a master baker had a hand in the dough 😅 Very friendly and delicious. Somewhat hidden in a side street.
