Örnek Lahmacun & Grillhaus in Berlin

It's no longer called Örnek, but Kizmet. New owner. Used to be good. Now it's no longer tasty, prices are higher, hygiene is nonexistent, and service and friendliness are zero. Don't go there anymore; there are plenty of better alternatives nearby.

The fresh lahmacun are crispy and tasty, but the price of €2, which was increased from 1.30 to 1.50 and then again, is no longer good. The Adana skewer was still raw inside and when I pointed it out, they said that the skewers would burn if they were left on the grill any longer, oh well. Unfortunately, this branch is the weakest of the 3.

If you don't know where to eat, don't hesitate! What a joy to find this restaurant before a night on the bus. I went there 3 times in one day, the Lahmacun are delicious and really cheap. Thank you!!!

Since the change of ownership, the restaurant is now called Kismet, which is why I'm only reviewing it. Unfortunately, my first visit here was anything but convincing. Hygiene & Cleanliness: The condition of the spice shakers – dirty and obviously rarely cleaned – didn't make a good first impression. The oil and other spices also didn't seem particularly hygienic. Service: One guest was turned away from our reserved table, which we found unpleasant. We don't know if he had already eaten, but we could have easily sat down at another table. Food: • The liver had green spots, which made it inedible for me. • The soups arrived after the Karışık plate, which is illogical, since soups are usually served as an appetizer. • Lahmacun and Karışık plate were disappointing in terms of taste, even though the restaurant has many good reviews – presumably from the previous owner. • The bread was also not good. • The only bright spot was the Mercimek soup, which was actually tasty. The next morning, we had diarrhea... we didn't eat anything other than breakfast... Conclusion: The visit was disappointing overall. Neither the food nor the hygiene nor the service were convincing. Based on this experience, we definitely won't be coming back.

The taste isn't perfect—there are definitely better Turkish restaurants in Berlin. But it's a good choice for those looking for a budget-friendly restaurant. The lahmacun and kebab wraps are neither particularly good nor bad, but I didn't like the doner kebab at all. The young wait staff, however, were very friendly and accommodating. I accidentally spilled my tea, and they immediately mopped it up, brought me a new one, and provided really good service. If you don't expect exceptional quality, you can come here for the lahmacun or wraps. The food won't give you a stomachache, but it won't offer an exceptional taste experience either. Come with the right expectations!

In a short time, I saw many comments written with very similar expressions about the restaurant. Still, I came to have my own experience. Unfortunately, Adana kebab was much drier than I expected. I would prefer it to be more juicy and delicious. I think that if the kitchen team is provided with better working conditions and opportunities, the quality of the food can also increase. If there is improvement in this regard, I would like to try again. Compared to restaurants in the same category, Örnek in Neukölln was a more successful option for me.

I used to eat lahmacun at Örnek frequently before and it was very good, but lately it has gone bad. I went twice in the last two weeks and it was horribly bad both times. I don't know if the quality of the meat they used changed or something else, but this is very bad in terms of Örnek lahmacun. I hope they fix it.

I recently tried the lahmacun and the kebab here and have to say that both dishes are absolutely delicious. The lahmacun was fresh, well seasoned and very tasty, while the kebab was simply fantastic. Ordered lahmacun with sauce and it didn't come. There were two of us and my husband's food was brought 20 minutes before mine and I had to watch him eat. I asked twice and was always put off. Only when I threatened that I didn't want to eat it anymore was it brought straight out of the blue without an apology! What a disgrace

Unfortunately it didn't live up to the high standard of Turkish cuisine. We had Adana plate and Kuzu as the main course, which tasted raw. As a starter, Lahmacun, which we found very tasty. The service makes an effort and is attentive.

We recently ordered from Uber Eats and there was a misunderstanding with delivery - our order was delivered to someone else and we received the wrong order. Unfortunately, when we contacted the store, the driver was unavailable. But the shop owner, Emre, personally took care of the situation. Even though he didn't actually have to solve the problem, he brought the wrong order to us himself and was incredibly friendly and professional. This service goes above and beyond what one would expect. We were really impressed by Emre's attention and commitment! In addition, the food was – as always – fresh, tasty and of the highest quality. I always enjoy visiting Örnek. The service is friendly and helpful, lahmacun are always fresh, crispy and tasty. Never had to wait longer than 2 minutes for my Lahmacun order. The waiters are really attentive and it's more of a “familiar” atmosphere here. Lahmacun here is one of the best in Berlin and certainly the cheapest. The free tea tastes great. Nowhere else can you get 2 lahmacun and 2 tea for THREE euros. This is unbeatably cheap! And at the same time unbeatably delicious. The only thing that sometimes bothers me is that in the past there have been occasional (scattered!) employees behind the counter who didn't speak German very well. It was then difficult to communicate small extra requests (e.g. lettuce on the side, not wrapped, no red cabbage or something like that). It worked with hand and foot (and it wasn't a huge problem). What strikes me: You often see delivery drivers who are offered a cup of tea and use it to warm themselves up while they wait. Very personable.
