We waited over 45 minutes for a table, even with a reservation!

An absolute disgrace! Ordered: Sushi (including the supposedly €20 Origami Crane), Peanut Chicken Meal, and a few other things. I had no idea the quality was so poor. Sushi from Rewe and Peanut Chicken from Hotalo are significantly better quality than this food.

Unfortunately, Origami didn't live up to our expectations. Influencer Yules had drawn our attention to the supposedly "best sushi" – unfortunately, our experience was anything but. Despite having made a reservation, we had to wait a long time upon arrival. The place itself is very small, cramped, and extremely loud – a relaxed atmosphere was out of the question. The food was also disappointing: I ordered exclusively vegetarian sushi rolls, which still contained a few caviar pieces – a definite no-go for vegetarians. My companion's sushi was okay, but by no means outstanding or special in terms of taste. On the positive side, the staff was always attentive – but unfortunately, that couldn't salvage the overall impression. For us, it was definitely our first and last visit.

Service was okay but not on par with the pricing. Forgot one of our orders. Most importantly the food was just mediocre relative to the price. No Japanese chef to be seen either.

Unfortunately I cannot give a review of the food in the restaurant. I had a reservation for two at 1 p.m. on Friday (04/18/25, Good Friday). I also received a confirmation by email that my reservation had been accepted. I then checked my emails again on Thursday morning and set off for Stuttgart. On Friday at 12:45 I stood in front of the restaurant and saw through the windows that no one was in sight. The restaurant was closed. There was no notice on the door and it also said online that they were open. So I checked the emails again and my reservation was canceled at 12:59 the day before. They had probably forgotten that it was Easter.

3 people spent 160 euros ( 3 plates, 3 drinks, tea and 1 dessert), food was good, but the service was awful- my husband asked for a particular beer type and they brought another without any explanation ; my order of wine has never showed up at all. Waitress made a face because we couldn’t understand her and sent another waitress for us. They didn’t have learner chopstick for a child. We left disappointed for that price.

Added a glass of sparkling wine and an appetizer on the house. The neighboring restaurant was 5 houses away and freezing cold. We were freezing. The only good thing was the sushi menu from Origami. The sushi was then brought from A to B outside. A bit carelessly done. Same price for a different atmosphere. Unfortunately no longer my first choice

10.01.2025 After almost two years I was again in Origami where I reviewed that time with five stars and a very good review (see below) I was very disappointed with the new design and new food quality! The tuna quality was really bad, the toro which is very nice expensive had a large vein inside and generally the service was below average for this price category! —- —- Very good Sushi bar in the middle of Stuttgart with very fresh ingredients. You need reservation at the weekend because it can be really full. I enjoyed the cozy ambient. It is definitely one of the best in Stuttgart.

Oh wow! We were here again yesterday. The ultimate adulation: When we go to Stuttgart - we reserve three days in advance because we are so excited. I'm a "sushi beginner" - but I've already tried many large and small restaurants - the differences are huge! Origami is by far undefeated so far. Fantastic sushi - great recommendations - extremely friendly and confident staff. You have to wait for your table - but it's worth it! I (we) are absolutely thrilled!

Without any adhesives or other aids, two-dimensional materials are elevated into the third dimension through artistic skills. This is probably the origin of the name of this place, which also consists of simple ingredients such as rice and raw fish, which are brought into the third dimension of taste through the art of cooking and rolling. (Unfortunately, hardly anything in the gastronomy scene in Stuttgart reaches the third dimension...except the bill) However, it takes a lot to achieve a “five star” rating. Origami is a small sushi restaurant on the edge of downtown Stuttgart. The decor is reminiscent of a standard Asian restaurant from the year 2000. The service is friendly, although when it comes to the question of wine types, they know the area as well as I do: There is red and white... you can still tell them apart. but then it will be difficult! ;) the menu is clear and the prices are slightly above average. What’s important about sushi? What was evaluated here? - Quality, freshness and taste of the ingredients. - Complexity and creativity of the menus. - Cleanliness and structure of the location/plate. - Speed ​​and attentiveness of the service. - Flexibility for special requests. - Authenticity of the menu. We had reserved and were allowed to choose whether we wanted to sit outside or inside. After choosing a spot in the corner, we ordered a starter, main course and drinks. As a starter there was a salmon miso soup, which unfortunately wasn't convincing AT ALL. It's clear to me that a sushi bar doesn't use the fresh salmon in a soup, but rather the salmon that was left over the days before...but the salmon had apparently already had its "birthday", at least that's what it tasted like...like the wet area of ​​a lido. But the soup was too salty; a clear fish soup with a tablespoon of tofu sections, a teaspoon of chives and with beach bath flavor. Well, there comes the main course. There was a trifecta of Crunchy Rolls, California and Inside Out, all in a tuna version. So in general all the ingredients were average, the crunchy rolls had a rancid aftertaste; either old frying fat or you fry other parts of meat in the same deep fryer. The overall impression of the plate is “interesting”, as if someone had flown down the free fall tower with an elaborately draped plate… a bit of jungle style. In the other rolls, the fish-rice ratio was good, but the rest was completely average, wasabi was green-colored radish, and the other sauces such as soy and teriyaki were the standard quality from Asian wholesale markets. Conclusion: a sufficient with a minus in front of it. When you get the bill, it hurts a bit...even if you're invited.

Great service! Excellent veggie sushi selections that warrant pictures and a second visit. No need to kill a fish. We had tempura avocado to start, crunchy asparagus & avocado rolls, spinach rolls, and the lachs roll (which wasn't better with the inclusion of fish), sake, mixed drinks and the fried banana desert. While the drinks and dessert were good/average for the price, the sushi and service was awesome. We left stuffed!

Sehr schönes japanisches Restaurant. Die Vorspeisen waren sehr gut. Die Sushiplatte war sehr gross und hatte auch super Eigenkreationen drauf, welche man sonst nicht so überall bekommt. Die Bedingung war sehr freundlich. Ich kann das Lokal nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Meine Begleitung und ich waren gestern das erste Mal im Origami - Die Koordination bei der Platzierung der Gäste war leider eine Katastrophe. Trotz Reservierung haben wir eine halbe Stunde gewartet. Wir standen im engen Durchgangsbereich des Restaurants und wurden von allen Mitarbeitern ignoriert. Die Kellner flitzten so schnell vorbei, dass man sie nur sehr schwer ansprechen konnte. Dementsprechend standen wir uns die Beine in den Bauch und konnten zur Überbrückung der Wartezeit nicht einmal einen Aperitif bestellen. Manche Gäste, die auch reserviert hatten und in der Schlange warten mussten, verließen schließlich frustriert das Restaurant. Weitere Leute, die ganz hinten in der Schlange standen, drängelten sich ins Restaurant hinein und setzten sich unangewiesen an freie Tische. Zu unserer großen Verwunderung, wurden diese Gäste dann auch zuerst bewirtet. Dreistigkeit siegt offensichtlich in diesem Lokal. Es gab auch Gäste, die 15-20 Minuten nach uns eintrafen und von den Kellern vor uns an einen Tisch gebracht wurden. Wir haben Verständnis dafür, dass es bei beliebten Lokalitäten auch mit Reservierung zu Wartezeiten kommen kann. Für die Willkürlichkeit bei der Platzverteilung und das Ausbleiben einer netten Geste für diese Unanehmlichkeiten verdient das Origami nur 3 Sterne. Wir werden nicht wieder hingehen.

Hochwertige, exotische Sushi-Gerichte zu entsprechenden Preisen, mega-freundliches Personal. Leider etwas laut an einer Hauptstraße gelegen. Punkteabzug nur für den unerträglichen Chi-Chi-Faktor, der mittlerweile auch in Stuttgart angekommen ist. Letzteres ist Geschmackssache, am Essen selbst ist nichts zu bemängeln.

Super aufmerksames Personal. Auch wenn man keine Ahnung von Sushi hat, erklärt das Personal was was ist. Das Sushi schmeckt hervorragend. Sehr zum empfehlen und wir werden wieder kommen.

Ein nettes Restaurant mit asiatischer Küche. Menükarte wird im digitalen Format (QR-Code) angeboten. Preise sind etwas höher dafür ist die Qualität der angebotenen Gerichte ausgezeichnet. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Restaurant hat auch eine Sommerterasse.

Der beste Sushi, den man in Stuttgart essen kann!! Service ist super nett und freundlich. Wollte beim bestellten Teller statt dem angegebenen was anderes dazu und es wurde umgesetzt ohne irgendwie zu sagen es sei nicht möglich. So muss man mit Kunden umgehen. Man fühlt sich gut aufgehoben!👍🏼
