Oregano Barbecue in Hannover

Absolutely recommended. Real authentic Greek with real Greek food, not like most pseudo Greeks with Metaxa and Hollandaise sauce. I've been there 3 times so far and will definitely come again. Addendum: I've been there countless times and have always been very happy with the quality and have brought many friends, acquaintances and relatives over the years who are all very happy. Unfortunately, it has now become extremely expensive, so expensive that my pain threshold has now been reached. From now on I will only come rarely, if at all. As a result, I unfortunately had to correct my rating downwards because the price/performance ratio deteriorated as a result. It's a shame, it's my absolute favorite Greek in terms of taste.

If you want real traditional Greek food, this is the place for you! Simply the best Greek in Hanover. This is what we know from Greece. Always a pleasure. We love it here. Be sure to try the Kolongithakia as a starter. Super tasty. The atmosphere is just like in Greece in the restaurants. I would give even more stars!

I've lived here for a good 3 years but unfortunately I've never picked up or eaten anything here before.. picked something up today.. it was totally uncomplicated and very friendly when picking it up. Food itself was very good.. Good portion.. We'd love to come visit next time. See you soon

Best Greek restaurant I've been to so far and I come back several times a year. The food is delicious and fresh. The service is friendly and smiling. A location with atmosphere, easy parking, and in summer you can even sit outside in the garden. Absolutely recommended!

Very cozy and really friendly staff. We went there for dinner with colleagues and felt very well served. Before I forget, the food was delicious, but the portions weren't overly large, so dessert was also included 😉

We sat in this Greek restaurant in the evening hours. After a long car ride we were ready to get something warm. Food was good. You cannot pay by card here, so make sure you pin in advance. And we got coffee for free... This restaurant was worth tipping!

Mega tasty, definitely worth a visit. Here you can find Greek specialties that are not canned. After the meal there is usually a small treat and an ouzo on the house.

The food tasted pretty good. You just need to season it a little more. Was there for the first time and had food to take away. I will definitely come back.

Warm satziki? Eggplant salad from a jar without any additional seasoning? Homemade fries that weren't seasoned and went soggy very, very quickly. Grilled meat? Possibly too short, not well seasoned. Staff nice, but understaffed. Ambience nice. Conclusion: It's a shame that friends' recommendation was so wrong. I won't go there again and won't recommend it to others.

Today in August 2024 I completely changed my 5 star rating!! The food is no longer as good as it was six months ago. Tzatziki was warm. Fries are flaky, the gyros have no seasoning and the house ouzo is served warm. We won't come more again.I left here today with a bad feeling. It's a shame, we often drove here from the other end of the city.

Yesterday, me, my wife and my sister wanted to eat at the Grillhaus on the recommendation of friends. Since we are restaurateurs ourselves, we arrived shortly before the kitchen closed and were still warmly welcomed. We ate pita and it was simply incredibly tasty and we will definitely come and eat it again and recommend it to everyone!! Thank you and keep it up!

Small but mighty... Nice family business... Small but nice, cozy tavern... Lovingly furnished & clean... There's real Greek cuisine here, always freshly prepared and not as run-of-the-mill as in many other Greek restaurants... In my opinion there is nothing to complain about... Simply a little insider tip in and around Hanover!!

The gyros are incredibly delicious! The best gyros I've ever eaten! However, I picked it up (it was pre-ordered), so I can't say much about the ambience, but I saw when I picked it up that it looked very nice.

Good, freshly prepared, typical Greek food, rustic ambience (warning: the first visual impression when walking in from the outside can be irritating), tables inside and outside (reservation advisable), reasonable, rather cheap prices for German standards (yesterday 72€ (80€) for 3 adults including drinks and coffee). Very friendly employees. Good parking directly in front of the restaurant, Hannover Stöcken S-Bahn station a three-minute walk. I would like to visit the restaurant again; recommended…

I can't understand the hype for this restaurant. I had a Suflaki skewer, with fries and tzatziki. The skewer was very manageable! 4 mini pieces of meat, the homemade fries were limp and greasy. The tzatziki was ok, the pita bread was so-so. Definitely the first and last time for me.

Lots of good reviews, you go there...unfortunately the food was very bad...French fries totally soft and limp, tzatziki with no taste, bread dry and from the day before, skewers tough, gyros not edible, no salad! .... the service was attentive and nice ... unfortunately not recommended... ... 55 euros for what???

Very pleasant atmosphere and everything was delicious

Very rustic furnishings. It's just a tavern, so everything is within limits. Food (lamb chop, gyros and souvlaki, with farmer's salad) was plentiful and deliciously seasoned. The original oregano from Greece tastes really great. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating is right next to the train. I think it should be pretty warm in the restaurant when the sun is out. But the food is definitely recommended.

Oregano has consistently offered consistently high quality for years. The starter platter is a poem (there is also an ouzo). The service is attentive and very nice. The ambience only suffers from the surroundings, which take some getting used to, between a parking lot and the last stop of the tram. However, that makes getting there easy ;-).

We had a small wedding celebration here on May 19, 2024. After a little uncertainty when making the reservation by telephone in advance, everything went really well! Our wishes regarding the menu design were fulfilled to our complete satisfaction. The food tasted excellent. The staff was very friendly and always filled our orders quickly. Unforeseen situations were responded to quickly and flexibly. The restaurant is clean and invitingly cozy. It was a bit of a shame that the outside area wasn't usable. At this point we would like to thank the entire Oregano team once again.

We were completely thrilled. The food was incredibly good. Where do you get fries made from raw potatoes? We weren't registered, but we were still allowed to stay. Charcoal grill is certainly better than deep fryer. It's a bit of a long journey from Langenhagen, but we like to drive for this good restaurant. We'll be back, that's for sure.

Hello, I was there based on a recommendation from a Greek... I can only recommend this taverna. The atmosphere is very clean, tidy and already furnished. The food is very original and not 08:15 like many Greeks usually have. The fact that you can put together your plate individually is very unusual. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The fries are fresh and handmade... 😋 All in all a great taverna that makes you think you are in Greece. I will come again 🙏🏼😆

There is Greek cuisine here that deserves the name.

Very inconspicuous from the outside, we ate there in the late afternoon, service was good, the small tavern was well attended. The food came fairly quickly. Visually, the food looked great, served on nice dishes and tasted very good. We'd love to come back.

Really nice atmosphere, unfortunately it just got cold at times. The food was plentiful and well made, the gyros could be a little tastier. The homemade fries were also delicious and not run of the mill. The chicken skewers were very tender and juicy and turned out well. The large portions also justify the price/performance ratio. Unfortunately, not to the extent that I want to visit again, because the cheesecake knocked me off the table, unfortunately not and the main protagonist, the gyros, was too limp for my taste.

A more original Greek meal. The Greek souvlaki were on the charcoal grill for too long for me. The restaurant has more of a snack bar feel.

Authentische griechische Taverne, kein deutsch angepasster Grieche mit hundert Gerichten auf der Karte. Wirklich leckere original griechische Grillküche. Netter Service. Manchmal ein klein wenig chaotisch, aber einfach liebenswerte Menschen, denen man mal einen Fehler verzeiht. Vielen Dank für einen schönen Abend. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Es ist mal eine andere griechische Küche als das einerlei, der normalen griechischen Restaurants. Es gibt hier ein paar andere Gerichte, wie Schweinebauch. Das Souvlaki ist auch in zwei Varianten etwas anders als sonst nicht ganz so trocken wer es mag halt etwas fettiger. Sehr zu empfehlen ist Giros. Der Zaziki ist auch hervorragend.

Das Essen hier in diesem Restaurant oder Imbiss wie man nennen mag ist sehr lecker Die Servicekräfte super nett und der Garten draußen ist vor allem im Sommer herrlich

Mit Abstand der beste Grieche in Hannover. Es erinnert einen einfach an die Heimat! Hier wird 100% wie in Griechenland traditionell gekocht! Das Personal ist auch sehr nett und geht auf jeden Wunsch ein! Die Fleischqualität und die Vorspeisen sind eine 10/10.

Alle Fisch Gerichte muss man vorbestellen. Enttäuscht. Frittierte Zucchini war lecker. Grillteller von Fleisch und Pommes kann man auch bei türkischen Restaurants genau so gut … Ich hoffe dass man wieder spontan Fisch essen kann!

Tolles ausgefallenes Essen und ein wirklich sehr freundlicher und guter Service. Das Essen ist, im Vergleich mit den meisten anderen Griechen, authentischer/ursprünglicher. Es hat uns allen super geschmeckt und wir kommen demnächst wieder.

Hier wird mit sehr viel Öl gearbeitet. Die Pommes sind sehr fettig, aber lecker. Dies ist Geschmackssache. Leider gibt es nicht wie bei anderen griechischen lokalen üblich vorab einen zum Gericht gehörenden beilagensalat. Auch Weißbrot wird nicht dazu gereicht sondern es musste extra bezahlt werden.

Leute man kennt es, man sieht die Bewertungen und denkt sich die Leute übertreiben oder das ist ein Bekannter der ihm eine gute Bewertungen gibt, ABER ganz offen und ehrlich es ist wirklich der beste Grieche in Hannover und Umgebung. Ein Besuch einfach ein Muss, überzeugt euch einfach selber von dem traumhaften Essen, dem rund um Service und dem tollen Ambiente. Das Essen ist echt zu köstlich, ich möchte garnicht so schwärmen weil es sonst unglaubwürdig wirkt. Überzeugt euch einfach selber und dankt mir später.

Ein sehr warmes, familiäres Klima mit super authentischem hausgemachten Essen und kompetenten Service! Jederzeit immer wieder gerne! Man fühlt sich wie in Griechenland :)
