Oraya Thai Cuisine in Aachen

We were there for the first time. Service very accommodating. Delicious cocktail (fresh up) and the Pad Thai was super good. We were really satisfied. It was very crowded, better make a reservation. Prices are not cheap but the price-performance ratio is right.

The food was very tasty, great atmosphere. The employees were also super friendly. We'd love to come back.

An excellent Thai restaurant in Aachen-Burtscheid. In my opinion it's number 1 in Aachen and the surrounding area at the moment. I can only recommend it. A reservation is advisable.

The Thai food is super delicious and the menu offers many different variations (including vegetarian ones with tofu). In general, the atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant and you are immediately warmly welcomed and served. Always come back!

Food is good but disgraceful service when they forgot the sticky rice on my Uber Eats. (I have to figure out how to email Uber Eats whilst my wife's food is going cold). Sure, they don't have a driver but I would have just accepted it if he was more apologetic about it and offered the rice the next time. I have never spoken to the manager of a restaurant which trivialised customer service as much as this one. I know the business, and this restaurant should not be so complacent when at the verge of tipping point to struggle (like many in Aachen).

Sorry, but waiting 2 hours for the food is not possible. A waiting time of 40 minutes was stated. Really uncool. The current prices have gone up by another 2.3 euros. The Pad Thai used to cost €14.50 with beef and now costs over €20. There have been two price increases in the last year and a half alone. That's really too much now, even if the food is very tasty.

Super tasty, fast, great service. Every extra wish is fulfilled. When we arrived we were told that our reservation through the website didn't work out, you have to call or reserve through Google. The three of us still managed to get a seat quickly and we had a great evening.

A highly recommended address for fans of Thai cuisine. Our evening was simply perfect! All dishes are incredibly delicious from starter to dessert. The cocktails are also worth trying. We particularly enjoyed the Oraya cocktail. I advise you to try the Thai pancakes. It's tasty and original. Too bad this is served with scoops of vanilla and chocolate ice cream. I would have preferred something more exotic like mango or coconut. The waiters also speak English and are very friendly. Remember to make a reservation because on a simple Tuesday, during the week, the establishment was full and several people were waiting their turn. We will definitely come back!

We just had dinner at the Thai restaurant Oraya. A really good restaurant with great food. Can only be recommended. It's not a classic little Thai snack bar, but a high-quality restaurant with very nice staff. The Thai chef came out immediately and was happy to be able to speak Thai with my wife and also recommended food. Always happy for your next stay in Aachen.

Definitely a terrible experience. I had lunch here with a friend and found a cigarette end in my dish. The restaurant offered to waive the cost of our meals, but I was not satisfied with this solution and asked to speak with the owner to discuss compensation. I started feeling unwell and was concerned about the impact on my health. When the owner arrived, they were extremely rude, even yelling at us while we were trying to communicate with the health department. They refused to take responsibility and claimed that no one was smoking in the kitchen. This behavior was unacceptable, and I’m left feeling both physically and emotionally upset. - We did not mean to imply that you must pay us 1000 euros. We are simply not satisfied with the solution provided and would like to negotiate further. We paid the bill to express our dissatisfaction with how this issue was handled. However, we do not feel that your treatment was ‘respectful.’ Additionally, I do not consider requesting a health inspection as a threat. We kindly request that you strengthen the supervision of your staff and improve the attitude towards customers. While you mentioned that no one smokes in the restaurant, we do not smoke either, and finding a cigarette end in our dish is quite concerning. Best regards

The most authentic Thai food I have ever eaten outside of Thailand, visually served with attention to detail and, given the quality, at really fair prices. The ambience is modern, but cozy at the same time. The restaurant was therefore packed, but the service was still efficient and always authentically and extremely friendly. We become regulars whenever we make our way from Düsseldorf to Aachen, where our son is studying. Absolutely recommended!!

I actually didn't want to comment, but I thought it would make sense to share my experience with you🙁 (of course not only here, but also in my fan group) We were treated very badly today and the boss was extremely unfriendly. I've never experienced anything like this in a restaurant. Wrong food, long waiting times and above all the rude behavior - all without a single apology. What was particularly annoying was the way he treated us. If you happen to be Asian and want to go to Oraya during busy times, please be careful that you will be treated the same way we were. In general, I still think it's very bad and goes a little beyond the limit. Conclusion: I won't go there anymore anyway, but if my comment helped someone or improved something, I would be very happy. Peace.

Very bad and nasty service. Reserved and arrived on time. Still waiting for more than half an hour, we asked again briefly for free tables, the answer was very rude and arrogant, original, "YES I KNOW, NO TABLE, HAVE TO WAIT". No estimated waiting time, no apology given. I also worked as a waiter, I can totally understand the stress that goes on, but this is no exception to it either. In the end we just left. Thanks for wasting 40 minutes for nothing. I actually expected a lot from the food beforehand, I heard that the food was good. One star is a lot!!!! There were three of us and we had made an appointment by phone, our appointment was at a quarter to 7. We were there 20 minutes ago and there was no room, and then we waited again until 7:10 p.m., there was still no room, then I asked the boss how long we had to wait. He was very very angry and shouted at me, “Yes! I know. There is no room!” In front of us stood a lady who is European. He smiled with the ladies but he yelled at us. And he wanted to kick us out of the restaurant. I will never go there again.

Masaman curry tasted way too strongly of star anise (almost like gingerbread…) Tom Kha Gai was covered in kaffir foliage and thick stems (unfortunately hardly edible). Pad Thai was ok.

Oraya Thai Cuisine offers a very good selection of delicious and authentic Thai dishes. For me it is the best Thai restaurant in Aachen. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and special requests are happy to be accommodated. I always enjoy eating there.

I was eating there with my girlfriend and didn't know the shop before and I was in the mood for a delicious, authentic Pad Thai I was taken to the shop, but then I ate Phad Phed (warming hot) with crispy chicken and so that there was also Pad Thai, my friend took pity on ordering it (she wanted to anyway 😅 I know her) beforehand there were delicious calamirs Crispy coating, they weren't the burner but still delicious! The main course was a pleasure, you briefly felt like you were sitting on a plastic chair with a lot of confusion on the streets at 30 degrees in the evening in the busy typical Thai soup kitchen, which all have the potential to get a star. Thank you, thank you, please please stay authentic and please never start to give up, we'll be back - more often and we'll bring our friends with us! Unfortunately I have to deduct a star for the ambience, it's more reminiscent of a better bistro with a cocktail counter, a little more Thailand on the wall and it would seem different. A piece of Thailand in Germany! We ate at Oraya for the first time with our daughter today and it was excellent. We were greeted very nicely, children's cutlery was put there straight away and when I asked, my daughter was given a small portion of fried rice with egg and chicken. The starter and main course were delicious. The service was great from start to finish. We'd love to come back!

We ate at Oraya for the second time yesterday. And I have to say, we're happy to take on the 80km. Anyone who knows and loves Thai cuisine has come to the right place because everything is just right here. Great service, delicious cocktails, fantastically good food and absolutely justified prices. It wasn't the last time we were at Oraya.

The Oraya restaurant in Aachen undoubtedly deserves 5 out of 5 stars. The dish we ordered, Gäng Khiao Waan, was extremely tasty and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very inviting and cozy, ideal for a relaxing evening. This was a new spot that my family hadn't tried yet. They love to eat at Thai places and found this one to try. It was hidden off the side road in a small town, and when we first went in, we were the only ones there. It was a Tuesday, but around 1pm more people came in. The restaurant has a pleasant, calm, and open atmosphere, not very many seats but enough for the size of the place. Staff was friendly (there was only 1 front of house person), and spoke a little bit of English. The food was really delicious. We all received a small appetizer before our meal. The meal size was large and we all took some home. I ordered the Pad Thai, because that is my favorite thing to get, and I was not disappointed! There are some chili flakes that come on the sides of the dishes, so be careful if you don't like spice because it's pretty hot. Prices are higher than some other Thai places we've been to, but the quality is worth it. I highly recommend this location and would go back to try other dishes.

Restaurant is overpriced with medium quality foods . Drinks were not the best. Atmosphere was quite alright , not too fancy . Restaurant is located in the suburbs of Aachen so it was overfilled with elderly German people.

Unfortunately the visit didn't start well at all. We had reserved for several people due to a birthday and had to wait 35 minutes for our table. We weren't offered a drink to wait and just stood around in the hallway. The same thing happened to some other guests who had reserved and there was also no table available for them. Other guests were then pressured to pay immediately after their meal. Very uncomfortable. Unfortunately the service didn't get any better. Drinks were not brought twice for 30 minutes. One round didn't come at all and was still listed on the bill at the end. Really not good service. In addition, it was super hot in the restaurant. With the service, even the best food won't lead to satisfied customers for long!

A real gem! I was just there with my brother, the food is simply phenomenal - every dish is a masterpiece of authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. The service is warm and attentive, and the ambience invites you to linger. The pasta with homemade sauce and the surprisingly generous amount are particularly recommended. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience real Thai cuisine. 5 Stars!

The best Thai cuisine in Aachen. A not too large guest room and a pleasant ambience.

Unfortunately, the menu at the entrance does not match the menu in the restaurant. I ordered the following dishes to take away: 1. Crispy duck with fried rice. The duck tastes really good, but the rice is unfortunately too fatty and tasteless. For >20 euros I wished for a larger portion. 2. Tom Yam Soup. In Thailand, soup is the king of cuisine, here it is just a side dish. Because: there were only 2 shrimps and very few vegetables. The broth was too thin/diluted, way too spicy and the rest of the soup was taken up by inedible spices. The taste cannot be compared to the taste you get in Asia. In Asia you can also choose different levels of spiciness, and you could also ask for that. I wish I had a real Tom Jam soup, I would rather spend 15 euros for that than 8 euros for the soup, which is hard to eat because of how spicy it is. Although the staff was quite nice, you could estimate more accurately from the start how long the preparation will take: if you're alone, it doesn't really matter, but if you come with a small child, then there's a 40 minute wait instead of 25 minutes too much. Conclusion: If you've never tasted Thai cuisine, it's okay. The restaurant is a good place to grab a bottle of wine and meet up with friends. But if you're looking for an authentic taste, you have to look further.

Their food is the most authentic i had found so far in Aachen they make it REAL Thai and I recommend it to anyone with German friends to come try this if they want some Thai food cause they actually make GREAT food not German gay style Asians that you usually pick up.
