ORANGE BOX in München

I am very conflicted: my salmon poke bowl was very tasty, but my colleague's order was rejected with the request that she avoid soy sauce because it "doesn't taste like that". Even the repeated reference to an allergy/intolerance did not persuade the lady at the counter to take the order. Unfortunately, this only happened after I had already ordered, otherwise we would have gone somewhere else together. We will definitely look for another place for lunch in the future.

I had chicken curry , it was delicious

Food was ok. Unfortunately, bibimbap doesn't have much in common with real bibimbap... rice was hard and seasoned with far too much sesame oil, and not that much gochujang - if at all, only on the carrots. Very healthy in itself, but could be seasoned better.

Been there twice, one for lunch and today for a drink. It's just so nice there is always space, the waitresses are friendly, the food and prices are good, they changed the menu and have new special dishes some times. It's original, healthy and tasty. So many homemade lemonades and fresh juices, great variety and not pricey for Munich. Would totally recommend a visit

Unfortunately, the glass noodle salad made me really sick. The fried oyster mushrooms were very, very heavy in my stomach.

I always ate bread, but when I saw bibimbap on the menu, I was hooked. It was a gochujang-based bibimbap, but there were a lot of vegetables, so it felt like poke. It was delicious, but it didn't satisfy my longing for Korean food.

Unfortunately it's nothing special, but it's not particularly bad either. The food was tasty, I found it a bit expensive, somehow the card reader device didn't work and we were disturbed several times while eating and had to come to the checkout, I also found it a bit strange, the device then had to be restarted then it worked

Orangebox: A disappointing evening Unfortunately, my visit to the Orangebox was anything but pleasant. The atmosphere of the place left a lot to be desired - it was more reminiscent of a well-lit construction site than a cozy restaurant where you would enjoy spending time. There was no visible ambience anywhere. The food, a Thai chicken curry, was also completely disappointing. Even the presentation was poor: my bowl looked like it had already been used. The rice was cold and, given the price, the quality of the dish was simply inadequate. I found it particularly disappointing that there was only one dish with meat on the menu. When I asked if it was possible to combine another dish with meat, even at an additional cost, this was refused. Although the overall service was polite, the older gentleman at the reception seemed extremely grumpy, which further spoiled the overall picture. I was really looking forward to the evening and was looking forward to a tasty meal - but unfortunately I was bitterly disappointed. After eating the dish, I also didn't feel well physically. I left the restaurant with a stomach ache and a bad feeling. The food was by no means at the level that one would expect given the prices. It had neither the quality you would hope for nor the sophistication you would expect in a restaurant. In fact, my 13-year-old sister, who has no special talent for cooking, could probably have made this dish just as well - and that's saying a lot. Additionally, the meat in my bowl was not cut to bite size and no knife was provided. This made consumption even more unpleasant and left a questionable impression. Overall I am very disappointed. The food was “okay” but far from the expectations raised by the positive reviews. I would have expected much more, especially considering the high price. My conclusion: I definitely won't go there again.

Very tasty food, but the owner was fighting with the staff during our lunch and that made it a bit of a weird atmosphere.

I don't like being served by waiters who are overly nice to get tips. In the Orange Box you go to the checkout, order your food, get a number and sit down. After five/six minutes the food is served. I always order the veggie curry and it has never disappointed me!

Good food but with the open kitchen all of my clothes smelled after the visit.

Very cozy interior, a bit noisy, glass noodle salad was great, self-pressed juices were also great, top ten wasn't that great but ten, the service could give you a little introduction to the concept. there is no toilet.

Food was ok, we were a little disappointed with our rice bowls though as they were a little plain. We did arrive late so maybe that’s part of the reason. Pricing was ok and staff were nice l!

Unfortunately, the bibimbap has little to do with the traditional dish, but rather seems like a bowl that is supposed to go in that direction. The rice was almost cold and the additional tofu topping cost €2.50 extra, but in the end there were only a few small, unseasoned cubes on the dish.

A bit boring and bland in my opinion. The food is more reminiscent of a rice bowl than a hot lunch.

It has a relaxed vibe and a great selection of drinks. I only tried the drinks, but they were satisfying.

Thai curry doesn't taste the way it should. I asked if it could be swapped for another dish. Usually it's in most restaurants. Here I received an unfriendly answer saying that it was no longer possible and that I should order something else. Not recommended.

Great shop with good vegan dishes. We were particularly happy about the gluten-free, vegan chocolate cake. Unfortunately the chocolate cake was very dry. Maybe you can adapt the recipe again?

Orange Box has vegan and gluten-free options. The food is delicious. You can definitely eat something cool there. But if you would like to stay seated for longer, I find the seating options too uncomfortable. 🙈

I have never had such a bad poke bowl!! Plus you won't get tired of it at all :( Please don't get your poke bowls at this location and just go to Aloha Poke (2 minutes away from this location) It felt like I was eating leftovers from the day before...and the canned tuna was disgusting.

Good vegetarian food for a good price.

The food is great and the cafe offers a great variety of options, from bowls to soups to salads and sandwiches. I had a salad with some toppings added. The salad was huge for the price and very fresh. The sandwich my friend had looked very good as well. The service is quick and easy, and you can stay seated as long as you want. The cafe is located in the student/university area of the city, which gives a great, relaxed and chill vibe.

Great for a light and healthy lunch. The Tuna Taco Bowl is super tasty, a good portion and also perfect to take with you. The glass noodle salad is very tasty, light and the oyster mushrooms go perfectly as a topping. Chilled atmosphere, good location and nice staff :)

I went there with friend and they highly recommended. They chose the daily menu- Salmon rice, and I chose the Thai chicken curry. The salmon and avocado were fresh, and the Thai curry was delicious. I think it’s a good place for a quick and yummy lunch

Just a unit of restaurant. The taste and the quality of the food were great. I was lucky to meet a young German/French waiter who spoke perfectly English. He was simply a great guy and made my day.

I have eaten at Orangebox many times and can highly recommend it :) I love the vegetable curry and the cakes are also very tasty😋 The staff is always very friendly and I think it's great that you can now pay by card!👍🏻 Unfortunately there is No toilet there, but you can use the toilet one or two cafes away. What I found negative when going to the toilet in the other cafe was that an employee shouted at us and that this wasn't a public toilet. When we told him that Orange Box had sent us here, he didn't say anything else. Please just let the poor Orange Box guests go to the toilet - thank you ;)

It is not possible to reserve a table because the wrong number is entered and there is no contact option on the homepage. Since the real owner of the phone number (Frankfurt, for everyone who hasn't seen it themselves, like me) has just complained to me about how sorry he is that he is constantly being harassed by people who want to eat something at Orange Box or who have forgotten things there, I try to use a bad review to put pressure on the owner to leave the poor man alone by correcting the number. If that happens, I'd also like to come over for dinner...

Not obvious whether self-service or not. Very unclear little map. For these prices the portions should be larger. I had a wrap but I couldn't get enough of it because it was very small. The tables and chairs and very close together were completely new because my mother and I wanted to try something different.

Always very good service and great vegetable curry! The prices are reasonable for the location and it is always extremely tasty and made with love!

Don’t recommend this place. Aubergine in Thai curry? not sure if it was a correct recipe overall also chicken tasted like Lamm. Very disappointing and definitely overpriced restaurant with self service.

Great food and homemade lemonade, very fast service and affordable prices. The food was delicious. A really good place for a quick meal at lunch or dinner. The only awkward thing was that the restroom is actually in another nearby cafe but it is OK.

I went in with high expectations given the stellar reviews, but I left a bit disappointed with the food. The Thai chicken curry I ordered didn’t pack the flavorful punch I was hoping for—it seemed to lack a certain something that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. Maybe other dishes fare better, but based on my experience, I can’t recommend the curry. Also, note that it’s self-service here, so you’ll need to pay at the counter.

I specifically ordered a vegetable curry without coriander, then it came with coriander, so it wasn't a big problem to sort it out. Unfortunately, the curry was so over-spiced with cumin grains that you could hardly taste anything else and it wasn't salted optimally or didn't taste like a classic curry at all. The dal was also very heavily spiced with cumin, which was unfortunately a shame.

Super great restaurant, the selection is unique and every dish is simply delicious! No long waiting times and the prices are super cheap and fair. I can only recommend!

The Orange Box is an all-time favorite for a casual and healthy lunch in Maxvorstadt. There is a wide selection of dishes, sandwiches, fresh juices and even cakes or cookies. Service on-site and for take-away meals is always quick. However, sometimes the service could be a little friendlier 😉 The dishes are all very tasty, taste fresh and are beautifully prepared! We are completely convinced and would love to come back!

Quite tasty and relatively inexpensive, there is a choice of vegetarian and healthy dishes. The chai latte was too spicy for me, too many spices.

An interesting institution. A large selection of dishes, including vegetarian ones. You make an order, and they bring you a dish. The size of the dishes is medium/large, it depends. I liked the vegetarian curry, it was moderately spicy. The chai latte was too spicy. There is no toilet.

Nice curry place. Instead we got a halloumi wrap and glass noodles with mushrooms. The food was tasty but the portion was a bit small in compare to price. In my opinion they offer European-Asian mixed cuisine. There are plenty seats inside and some outside.

Super delicious food - I had the curry of the day with various vegetables and it was really delicious. The service was quick, not overly friendly but not unfriendly. I like the ambience - the raw look inside is really cool. There is also seating outside, even in the sun at lunchtime.

I will shamelessly say that I visited here twice during my two night stay in Munich! It’s just so good. The dhal with rice is delicious and the atmosphere in here is super chilled and laid back. The team are so friendly and I would definitely recommend!

Ich gehe hier regelmäßig mit meiner Tochter zum Essen. Wir lieben das gesunde Essen hier. Das Gericht "13 Top" ist wirklich top. Bibimbap mag ich auch sehr gerne. Hier arbeiten immer so nette junge Leute. Die Einrichtung ist spartanisch und einfach, passt aber sehr gut ins Gesamtkonzept, basis, bio, breiswert 😄

Price: Very good Food taste and quality: Good Service: good They have many gluten free options. We ordered 3x ginger and thyme drinks, which I would not really order again as the thyme was really overpowering any other taste and was way too strong imo. The food is pre-prepped, which means you get your food within 2-3minutes of ordering. We ordered 2x chicken curry and 1x tuna taco rice, which were all tasty. If I would have to rate them, I would give the chicken curry a 6/10 and the tuna taco a 6.5/10. If you want something warm with spices, I’d go for the curry. If you want something fresh (with plenty of coriander), I would then go for the tuna rice taco. Most of the clients were very young so I am guessing this is often frequented by students. The atmosphere was young and fresh, and altogether the experience was positive. If you want to eat something good, affordable, and quick, this is a good place to come to! Also good for people with gluten intolerance. Total cost for 3 drinks and 3 meals was around 45eu.

Vom Essen kann ich nicht viel berichten weil wir hier zum Kaffe trinken waren. Aber Chai Latte, den ich hatte, war genau nach meinem Geschmack . Freundliche nette Personal, es gibts auch Sitzplätze draußen .

Ich wollte heute Mittag das erste Mal hier essen, wozu es aber nicht kam. Beim bestellen entgegnete mir die Servicekraft mehrfach passiv aggressiv. Ich fühlte mich danach so unwillkommen, dass ich den Laden wieder verlassen habe. Ich werde dem Laden an einem Tag nochmal eine Chance geben und hoffe, eine besser Erfahrung machen zu können.

Gorgeous little place with a great selection of foods. Good prices too. It’s more casual and offers simple outdoor seating which is perfect for a lovely summer evening with friends. I personally can highly recommend the glass noodle salad and the Thai curry! The dishes were on point, looked quite healthy, were nicely decorated and not too heavy. Tap water is free as well :) However one has to know that ordering takes only place indoors. That led to us waiting patiently outside for a while until a waitress been so kind to clarify their structure. In other countries I saw QR code ordering (and pay) a lot - I think this would be a great idea for this kind of venue and ease the stress on staff/patrons.

The crispy texture and seasoning of roasted mushrooms surprised both of us in a flattering manner! - If I’m asked, Thai curry and dal soup are decent options. - Tap water is free of charge. - Overall, I’d like to recommend to give this delightful place a shot if you haven’t been there already.

Wir waren gestern bei Orange Box und haben den Dal Reis und die Oriental Potato bestellt. Beides hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt! Auch der frisch gepresste Saft war sehr lecker.

¡Para mí el mejor restaurante vegano/vegetariano en el que he comido en todo el verano! Comida rica, sana, original y a buen precio. Mi padre el intolerante al gluten y también tenían opciones gluten free. Nos gustó tanto que comimos allí dos días seguidos. Pequeñas pegas: no hay aire acondicionado y no hay baño (creo).

Thai Curry : riesige Fleischstücke im Curry , wenig Gemüse und dieses noch verkocht , die Soße nicht differenziert gewürzt , lediglich viel chilli draufgehauen , das sollte wohl der „ Geschmack „ sein . Nicht gut . Ich konnte es nicht essen .

We visited Orange Box a couple of times on a recent holiday to Munich. It offers friendly efficient service, a great food and drinks selection (we tried the ice tea, orange lemonade, Thai chicken curry, Halloumi wrap and dal rice) in a rustic atmosphere. The food is great, and made a refreshing change after a few typically heavy Bayerische meals! Only criticism would be the lack of toilets, but that wouldn't stop us coming here again.

Nice Place to get vegan food! We had the veggie curry, the taco plate and the korean bibimbap. For Drinks we had the mango lassi, orange lemonade, and a freshly made juice! The interior is kept very simple and minimalistic, it felt a bit cold and the seats could be more comfortable. Prices are reasonable and it was possible to pay by card :)

This was a very refreshing and delicious meal. The service was great and fast. I would definitely go back. The 10 top was my favorite.

War mehrfach dort. Das Essen ist von gleichbleibender sehr guter Qualität (Bio?!) Das Chicken Curry ist wirklich top; auch die Sandwiches und Wraps sind lecker,gut gewürzt und immer frisch. Kaffe ist sehr gut und die Kuchen wie hausgemacht. Die Mitarbeiter sind meist sehr freundlich. Die Einrichtung ist schlicht aber passend. Der nette Chef ist oft anwesend. Ich wünschte mir mehr Auswahl bei Gerichten mit Fleisch; aber das ist wohl so gewollt. Preis Leistung sehr gut. Insgesamt 4- 5 Sterne. Komme (immer)wieder.

Wurde mir als sehr gut angepriesen, war aber vom Essen hat nicht so gut. Ist noch sehr Verbesserungsfähig. Daher zu teuer für die Leistung.

Nettes Ambiente und Personal. Ein paar Gerichte sind echt sehr lecker, aber beim Glasnudelsalat bekommt man nur Gurkenschalen. Wo ist der Rest der Gurke? Außerdem kann man auf der langen Rückbank nicht sitzen, weil irgendwer von den anderen Tischen immer wackelt und das ist beim Essen sehr nervig, weil man mitwackelt.

Leckeres Essen, freundliches Personal und angenehme Atmosphäre. Nur ein Stern Abzug weil das Lokal zu klein ist.

Wir waren heute zum Kaffee trinken im Lokal und ich möchte mich nochmal für den tollen und zivorkommenden Service bedanken. So aufmerksam wird man mittlerweile in München nur noch selten behandelt. Das nächste Mal komme ich dann auch gerne zum Essen, denn das sah auch superlecker aus. ;-)) vielen Dank für den schönen Nachmittag

Sehr leckeres Essen, sehr freundlicher Service

Wir haben das Lokal Anfang 2020 auf der Suche nach veganen Lokalen entdeckt - und waren seither bestimmt 20 Mal da. Sei es, dass wir Essen mitnahmen (die Orange Box ist übrigens bei Rebowl dabei -> weniger Abfall!) oder im Lokal aßen. Die Atmosphäre ist etwas beengt, aber total gemütlich. Und das Essen: frisch und einfach nur lecker.
