If you are foreign (American) they will treat you rudely and still expect a tip. Also I’m not sure how well they washed their beer glass, it pretty bad. Ok food though.

This place has changed. It used to offer decent, typical German food with good portions. Now, it's a place for watching football, with lots of screens, but the food is very basic and the portions are small. The service is also unfriendly. I think the good reviews are old.

The food is good, and the portions are generous. However, the "price change" is noticeable here, too: The prices have remained largely the same, but the portions have become slightly smaller, and previously available extras like the appetizer salad have been dropped. The rustic decor is lovely, but the space is very tight, so it quickly becomes uncomfortable when the place is full—especially during football season. Furthermore, the service has deteriorated significantly recently.

Since my childhood, for over 25 years, I've been a regular guest at Opatija. I've also spent birthdays there and eaten there with the whole family. It was always a Croatian restaurant; the food was simple and inexpensive, but always fresh and delicious. The selection of dishes was always great, offering Croatian classics, as well as dishes like schnitzel and various salads. Much earlier, burgers and pizza were also on the menu. For a few years now, however, it's been increasingly transformed into a beer hall; there's no sign of Croatian tradition or cozy atmosphere. There are far too many tables in the restaurant, it's far too cramped, there are TVs everywhere (on every free wall, really), and now there's a bar that runs halfway through the restaurant. The menu has been reduced to a minimum, and the dishes look and taste like Aldi frozen and ready-made items that have simply been warmed (lukewarm)... truly inedible. I don't blame the staff for this, though. The waiters make every effort, and some of them have been there for decades! I'm really disappointed and won't go there again... But apparently they only want beer-drinking football fans. The owners should change the name; it has nothing to do with Croatia anymore.

Service was great, food was OK, but my dish filled with feta cheese was very mushy.

If you're told the price of the meal and want to pay, and then you get "no tip," you're out of luck with me. Never again. As a tourist, you feel more like the staff are serving you than a guest. Therefore, the impression of hospitality is unfortunately lacking. I hope this was an isolated incident. However, we'll never see you there again.

A very nice restaurant, the menu is very nice, there is something for everyone. The service is as you would expect, friendly, quick, attentive, special requests are no problem. The food came quickly, was very tasty and beautifully presented. Definitely worth a visit or more than one, especially with children who always want something different. The ambience is simply a very nice, harmonious style and everything is very clean.

The kebab was pretty good. Geschmorter SchaschlikspieB (didn't take a photo, finished it too quickly), a bit like pork wrapped in sweet and sour sauce, very tender. The potato wedges were also delicious. Cevapcici (photo) was also OK, with rice and meat, but a bit salty for Asian tastes.

Unfortunately, the food and the staff have deteriorated considerably. We've been regulars for over 20 years, but yesterday was our last visit. Our crispy schnitzel salad was such a bland, tasteless salad with ready-made schnitzel from the deep fryer—we were used to quality until now—that it's unfortunately no longer available. Any run-of-the-mill salad from Aldi & Co. tastes better and significantly cheaper. The service, with their manner and demeanor, also left a lot to be desired. It's a shame you can't visit this restaurant anymore.

I wanted to go back to Opatija after a long time, although long is relative. Six months ago, I got a meal there, including a large mineral water, for less than €15. Today, you don't even get the meal for that amount. And the unacceptable behavior of the waiters was the icing on the cake. I will never eat there again. If I had, I would have had to spend €20.00+.

Unfortunately, the food was very bad! Wiener-style schnitzel, the meat was very tender and flimsy. The fries were yellow with old grease. The side salad was okay! €52, I'd be better off going to McDonald's!

We visited the restaurant on a Sunday and sat outside. It was cozy and nicely decorated there, but the restaurant itself was less pleasant. We had two dishes. The cevapcici was unfortunately not fresh. The meat smelled strongly of fish and tasted spoiled. The sweet potato casserole with thyme lacked any special features, and especially no sweet potatoes or thyme. The sweet potato nuance merely served to add color to the surface; otherwise, it consisted of regular potatoes. The advertised thyme was also just a light decoration, consisting of a sprig placed on top. The food was also lukewarm. We informed the waiter, who tried hard but ultimately couldn't change anything. The price was absolutely unreasonable. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

The staff was extremely unfriendly. When I asked what kind of schnapps they had, they responded with an annoyed, "Just look at the menu." The waiters and waitresses were consistently in a bad mood and irritated—we won't be coming back.

I've been there a few times and it was okay. Now, when I ordered cordon blue, I got a dry, burnt pork chop folded in half with burnt ham and half a slice of cheese inside. The "fried potatoes" were covered in fat (more than my partner's fries) and tasteless and undercooked. The beer selection was also average. The tables were very small and cramped. I don't recommend it.

Stay away. It’s not worth it and there are dozens of great restaurants in the area. Overpriced and unfriendly.

A bitter experience. The food was inedible. French fries in old oil, burgers still raw, tasteless and odorless, old lettuce and withered cucumber. Cevapcici may only be called that, but the combination of spices and meat is something truly special. The bedspread was from a few days ago, overcooked rice, and finely chopped and wilted onions. The atmosphere is tense, the staff rude and arrogant. They harass tourists and random passersby (I didn't notice many regulars), untidy and dirty... Avoid at all costs.

Ich war echt enttäuscht von dem Knusperschnitzel Salat. 5 Streifen Schnitzel, steinhart auf überschaubarem gemischtem Salat. Das beste war noch der Preiselbeer Dip, Preis 18.50 Euro. Kein Vergleich zum Vorbesitzer! Preis/Leistung sehr schlecht geworden. Einmal und nie wieder.

The last time I was at Opatija in the valley was a few years ago. Back then, I don't think it had the "Easy" prefix in its name. I don't know if that's due to a change in management or something similar. In any case, the food was nothing like it used to be. It was okay, but not as exceptionally delicious as it was a few years ago. Back then, you couldn't get a seat on the weekends because it was so crowded. When I was there on Saturday, the place was basically empty (apart from 2-3 guests). What a shame.

Un poco de espera para tomar nuestras órdenes. Mi esposa hizo servir el schnitzel de cerdo con papas fritas. Las papas estaban bien. Su porción de schnitzel era grande. Le gustaba pero le había gustado más el schnitzel de ternera. Tenía el Bierkutscher Gulasch. Esto fue un guiso, como una comida. La carne estaba tierna y la salsa sabrosa. La porción era razonable. Mi entrada venía con dos albóndigas de pan grandes, que me recordaban un poco a bolas de matzo. Con la salsa, las albóndigas estaban muy buenas. Convertido a dólares, la cena duró un poco más de $ 65.

So, the white sausage breakfast is okay, but you can't really go wrong with it. But the worst cevapcici I've ever tasted... unfortunately, I couldn't finish it all... terrible... there's definitely no Croatian mother in the kitchen, but probably some temporary Albanian, Afghan, or something similar. The meat skewer from a colleague wasn't much better... so anyone expecting good, authentic Croatian cuisine should try their luck elsewhere 😉🙋‍♂️

I've been there 1-2 times so far, and the food itself was good, and there wasn't much else to say. On Saturday evening, we had a reservation for 6 people at 8 p.m. and then simply didn't get our table because Bayern Leverkusen was being shown, and they didn't have the decency to free up the table they had already booked twice. It was, of course, great to spontaneously find an alternative for 6 people on a Saturday evening... Never again! Regarding your query: The reservation was made under the name Azakli via OpenTable.

Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we didn't get a seat. We were compensated with a free beer. It was a nice gesture, but nothing more. That's a no-go for me. PS: The reservation was made under Ms. Azakli. She reserved for six people.

We were unfortunately disappointed. The leg of lamb with some vegetables tasted okay, but there was no real side dish – we had to order the fried potatoes separately. For the price, we expected more. The grilled chicken also tasted okay, but the side salad was a joke – barely bigger than a dip cup. The fries, on the other hand, were an absolute disaster: rock-hard and completely oily. Overall, we weren't impressed with our visit, and we definitely won't be coming back.

Booked a table for 6 to celebrate two birthdays on Saturday night. Reservation was made and our visitors had travelled to be with us. The menu looked fit enough to meet all of our needs. But on arrival- they simply told us to leave- no tables available- football comes first at this place even with an officially documented reservation. No apologies either.

An absolute favorite in the heart of Munich. It has everything a Munich resident could want. Ice-cold Augustiner beer, live football coverage, and delicious food.

Food is overpriced for me, beer is half foam, and also the smallest and most expensive Keiserschmarrn I ever ate was here. Although it is a nice place to sit and watch football, a big choice of food, just the ones we ordered were not very exciting.

A week ago, we visited Opatija as a group for the first time. I was very pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. Modern, rustic decor, and I think the Augustiner beer from the wooden barrel is excellent. I didn't eat anything myself, only tried it twice, and both were very good. The value for money is unbeatable for the city center. The service was fast and friendly. There's nothing to complain about, and we'd be happy to come back.

The food is always good, but after the big price increase following the takeover, we don't come as often anymore.

Wir besuchen das Lokal schon sehr lange und haben es früher sehr gerne besucht und es war immer sehr gut.Nun waren wir nach längerer Pause wieder mal dort und es war eine große Enttäuschung. Der Burger ist um einiges kleiner geworden, das Fleisch war hart und optisch war es auch nicht befriedigend.Die Pommes waren blass und auch nicht ansprechend.Der Preis war auch knackig. Wir werden diese Lokal nicht mehr besuchen!!!

Früher war das Opatja eines unserer Stammlokale. Leider können die neuen Wirtsleute die gewohnte Qualität nicht bieten. Das Essen ist deutlich schlechter geworden und dafür explodieren aber die Preise. Opatja ist leider nicht mehr zu empfehlen 😚

We have been in Munich for a week and have visited many restaurants and have almost always been disappointed. Today on our last day before returning back home we discovered Opatija. We were so surprised by the beautiful atmosphere and the excellent food that was served to us. Not only the food but also the service from our waiter Angelo was excellent. We felt very comfortable and can only recommend the restaurant. It's a shame that we only found it on our last day. Everything was great👍🏻

I am writing a review to respond again to your restaurant's response. Before I start, I'm deeply sorry for that I left an emotional review yesterday. First of all, it is common sense to let the waiter immediately notify you when the menu is different from what has been said in advance, or to ask if you will accept the order before it enters the kitchen. However, the waiter must have served several times and recognized that the menu was different from the original, but there was no comment until I first challenged. This is definitely the restaurant's fault, and the restaurant should not have any rebuttal or dispute about it. Second, the large shrimp is correctly listed on your English menu. The response that it is not on the menu indicates to the restaurant's reviewer that his or her understanding of the restaurant is poor. At the same time, I wanted a refund without eating the food because I felt the same way about the ‘First’ part, but I just did not want a big problem to occur. I am very disappointed for this overall service. If you want to become a better restaurant, I hope you will listen to the above carefully.

Como se ha dicho antes no entres si eres inglés, parece que tienen un problema con nosotros. ¡Qué grosero! Vino aquí con mi familia, pidió un trago y fue traído y golpeado en la mesa, incluso cuando todos dijimos gracias, ella simplemente nos ignoró y se fue. Solo nos quedamos a tomar una copa y cuando pedimos la cuenta la señora dijo ‘wooooohooo!’ que nos íbamos. Very bad service and let me tell you something about the food, you come there to eat and drink something. As soon as you enter you can see that the waiter doesn't want to serve us, he took our drink and food and threw everything on the table in a disgusting way. I've known the Opatija in the valley for many decades. What used to be purely Croatian food and service now presents a Bavarian-Croatian mix. The ambiance is more Bavarian-modern, and the cuisine serves both countries. The service is attentive and fast; it's a pleasure to be a guest. The first-brewed white sausages were a bit strong (firm); two with pretzels, semolina, and butter cost €7.60 per portion. The pretzels were good, and the beer selection also leaves nothing to be desired. For the Augustiner Heller, you can choose between a frothy, a slice, or a whole half.

Incredibly good restaurant, just off Marienplatz. Huge menu, Balkan dishes and good Bavarian fare. Great service, great food. The fried chicken melts in your mouth. Excellent side dishes. No long waits, even though it was very busy.

Everything had been fine up until our last visit on November 30th. We had made a reservation for 12 people for a white sausage breakfast four weeks earlier because we had friends visiting who we hadn't seen in two years. When I made the reservation, I mentioned that we definitely wanted to stay until the evening. At 4 p.m. the waiter put a reserved sign on our table. I asked if we had actually reserved until the evening. The waiter just said it wasn't his fault. When the guests arrived, we were able to share the table with them, which was fine at first. Two tables away, people had reserved for 6 people. Unfortunately, there were suddenly 13 people there. Because of this, we were asked to vacate our table so that the guests had room. Even a discussion with the waiter was to no avail. It's a shame that customers are treated like that. We then went to another Augustiner restaurant and spent some more lovely hours there. I know of more than 50 Augustiner restaurants in Munich and 450 across Europe, so I don't have to put myself through that anymore. In future, I will only go where I am welcome. It couldn't have been the turnover, since the bill for the two of us was more than €140. Or maybe that's too little.

When we asked if a table was available, a waitress insulted us in Bavarian dialect. Regarding her response: we entered your restaurant together at 7:15 p.m. and hadn't consumed any alcohol. I don't know who you're referring to, but it certainly wasn't us. I can only advise everyone to stay away from this place. I've never been treated so condescendingly, and that was with the best of intentions and the intention of leaving money.

A great place where you can eat delicious sausages in a great atmosphere.

La comida era tan buena, muy tradicional comida bávara. Josef fue maravilloso y super servicial ya que pedimos un plato compartido... “Te sugiero que te muevas a una mesa más grande” Nos acomodamos a una mesa de 4 personas para nosotros 2 y me di cuenta de por qué tan pronto como llegó la comida. La carta de vinos complementó el menú y recomiendo encarecidamente ir a este lugar!

Great food, friendly atmosphere, good beer recommendations

The best white sausages in Munich and an excellent Augustiner beer on tap are a highlight. The food still has that good old "Jugo" flavor. Be sure to try the cevapcici. I've never been disappointed. The wines are remarkably good and affordable. Very friendly and competent service.

It's a nice restaurant... but!!! The service was really bad and rude!! If cyclists ordered, it was supposed to be half soda and half beer……. There was at most 50-80 ml of beer in there!! Nothing but rip off!! Incompetence is covered up with arrogance!! Disgraceful…….

A big favorite and insider tip are of course the kettle-brewed white sausages, which are freshly brewed in the restaurant for the first time and cannot be beaten in terms of freshness and therefore taste and wholesomeness. Plus an Augustiner Helles made from iced glass, pure enjoyment! The beautiful, bright and yet traditional ambience is also complemented by an extremely friendly and entertaining team of innkeepers and appropriate service staff who are attentive to the guests. An excellent recommendation at any time of day! I'm already looking forward to the next visit

Top modern Augustinian restaurant with a great menu and perfect beer enjoyment (light, cut and even foamy ones are always ice cold!!)

We have been regulars at the Opatija for many years. This restaurant was our second living and dining room. We were greeted with a handshake! The food was always fresh, plentiful, and delicious. In short, we were like many other regulars; we were completely satisfied. Since the Opatija was sold, however, things have only gone downhill. Almost the entire staff has been replaced; the food is just average, but the portions are much too small and overpriced. There are hardly any regulars left...that alone should give the new owner pause. The new concept: less and worse food on the plate, but it costs more and is served in a musty manner. Staff who loudly speak negatively about their colleagues is also completely unacceptable. Overall, it's sad and frightening how quickly a restaurant can go under.

Durante la mia breve permanenza a Monaco, affidandomi a Tripadvisor, abbiamo deciso con alcuni amici di andare a mangiare in questo locale. Locale molto tipico e tradizionale anche nell'arredamento, cibo ottimo e molto tipico della cucina tedesca. Servizio ottimo e personale gentile. Rapporto qualità prezzo molto buono. Lo consiglio a chi vuole provare la cucina tipica tedesca!

I hardly ever give Google reviews, but the store barely managed to get 2 stars. I was about to give 1 star because I've rarely experienced something like that. It's Sunday evening, so I can understand if everything takes a little longer. But I was there for dinner with a friend and had to wait 2 hours for my burger. My friend was finished eating when I got my burger. The quality of the food was okay, but I can't remember the last time I was so let down by the service. I wish the staff all the best and hope that they can set their priorities a little better in the future.

This looked like such a great, fun, lively place for dinner so we made a reservation. Had to wait for our table for about 10 minutes, no big deal. We're seated at a high top and not a regular table as requested. Not cool as I'm short and my legs dangle, but they were busy so we took it. And then we waited. Place was, I will kindly say, orchestrated chaos. Definitely not enough wait staff for the very full restaurant and the staff is abrupt and not looking like they are enjoying anything about their job. Food finally came out...after about 35 minutes, and my turkey schnitzel had many places of obvious pink, or in other words, undercooked! When I showed it to our waitress all she said was "it's turkey". I said I know, but it's not cooked thoroughly. She then stood there and complained to 2 other staff members and several "locals/regulars" that were sitting nearby. How rude! However, I was NOT eating undercooked poultry. Told her to take it away. At this point, my husband was nice enough to share his pork schnitzel, which was quite tasty, as we didn't want to wait another 35 minutes for mine to be remade. When he asked for the check, the waitress threw it on the table, and scowled at him as he paid. Not impressed.
