The restaurant has room for about 10 to 15 tables, which makes it very cozy. The food is always of high quality and tastes fantastic. I love how the chef takes his time to prepare everything perfectly. He is very attentive and loves what he does. The staff is very friendly and always helpful, which always makes you feel welcome. For us, this restaurant is a special place that we love to visit again and again. The delicious dishes and friendly service make every visit special. I highly recommend it—a great restaurant to try! Hands down best sushi restaurant in the town. The freshest of all the ingredients. I swear I can’t eat sushi elsewhere now.

Overhyped, unbalanced, disappointing service. The start was off to a bad start: Despite an empty dining room and an early reservation, they insisted on seating us at a specific, unattractive table. Why so inflexible? The drinks menu was puzzling: no sake menu, soju only available by the glass – and all for €10? The culinary variety was also lacking: the food selection seemed monotonous, the overall flavor bland. The natto was a pleasant surprise – pleasantly nutty, well-balanced with cucumber. The best experience of the evening? The ice cream dessert. Sadly disappointing for a sushi restaurant. When experiences like this are rated with top marks here, it says more about the low expectations of Berlin's gastronomy than about the quality of this restaurant.

Great local sushi place, love the homemade lamps and the cool and quirky atmosphere

This restaurant is a health hazard. We live in the building with them and they leave food rests lying around and do not dispose of trash properly. The whole building has flies, rats, and a horrible smell of decomposing fish because of them. The worst is, they leave their food rests to decompose outside their container, and then just leave on holiday for weeks. Think about it: if they do not respect any trash disposal rule and operate so unhygienically, how are they handling your food? Do not patronize them, we are tired of their lack of concern.

Very tasty food and super nice service

My partner and I love this place and visit it whenever we have the chance. In our humble opinion, the quality/price ratio is the best we know for Japanese food in Berlin. We recommend booking in advance if you go on the weekend; you might not get a table. We also recommend letting the staff recommend you something; the best food we eat is always what they recommend!

Very good and delicious sushi shop

Wow, the best sushi I've found in Berlin in 13 years. Everything was so tender and full of flavor, amazing creations, and the preparation was a breeze. I highly recommend the counter seats, where you can watch the preparation and get valuable tips. The decor is so beautiful, too—just an all-around fantastic experience :)

the quality of fish was high, salmon was on top, but unfortunately there were quite a few things that i’d love to mention: too much rice for the nigiri piece, therefore the pieces are insanely huge so i was eating rice and fish separately ( as sashimi) , not a real wasabi there but a powder one, which is not a huge problem but still something that i’ve noticed ! anyways, the atmosphere is cozy , i’ll be definitely be back <3

Delicious food. A very comforting and great quality choice for Japanese and sushi dining. The venue is beautiful and has a great charm. We showed up without a booking last minute on a Friday night and they accommodated us. The service was very slow. But we are grateful that they took us in

Simply the best sushi in terms of taste in Berlin The chef is also so caring

The place is small and dark, could be considered cozy, except the staff really ruined my experience. Not 1 time did they say welcome, or give a smile, or even act like they were enjoying being there, they acted concided and bothered and stuck up. When the food came it was thrown on my table. Also disappointed in the fact that all was plastic, the food bowl, little plates and cups all was plastic. Which i think could be improved to properly go along with a meal. When the bill came it was also just thrown on my table and walked away, they never said thank you. They never said, see you again or provide a smile, nothing nice, it's like they hated serving you. This attitude made me feel unwelcomed and disrespected. I did see an old friend there so the visit was not a total waste, say hello to BoBo for me... 😉 Yes it was plastic, it was a deep dish round bowl similar to what you would give a child, maybe you need to speak to your staff about being disrespectful and treating a grown person as a child by bringing a child's bowl, was it a joke? A game? This is childish behavior that should not be displayed in an established restaurant as yours!!!! Very disappointed in how your staff made me feel. If you see your other reviews you will see many complaints about your staff, so you should probably look into this , because it is hurting your reputation.

So happy to have found this gem. Amazing price to quality ratio and delicious food.

Berlin's most authentic sushi restaurant! Many thanks to the owner and team for a fantastic evening with great conversation and excellent food.

The sushi was delicious and the atmosphere was nice, but the staff was really rude. especially the guy worker. The only thing he said to us was, “you want to pay?” really? Is that all? and threw the basket with the receipt to my friend, not even saying thank you or bye. we came out with bad feeling.

I went to this amazing sushi place in 2017. And I still remember the chef and his attitude to be perfect and functional in every move. The quality was good and the atmosphere was nice. Also the glass of wine I took was excellent. I don't know what is missing this time, but something was missed compared to 2017. Maybe when you become too much, something gonna be missed, or was just my perception. But anyway it was still good and I still recommend 👌☺️🙌

Intimate restaurant with good sushi. I know it's a Korean restaurant, but one of the best sushi I had in Berlin was here. Friendly staff and good dessert. One of my favourites and I'd say it's good for dates and friends gathering, although I have been there mostly alone.

The food tasted bland and we had a fish bone in our sushi. The staff looks uninterested.

Absolutely elegant, from the food to the decor. 10/5 stars. The nicest sushi experience we've ever had. The most romantic shop we've ever been to, perfect for a date because of the warm woody decor, understated jazz music and lovely darker lighting. It is particularly recommended to sit at the counter because of the boss. Be sure to reserve. We waited about half an hour for the food, so you have to allow plenty of time and patience, and it's best not to come super hungry. But the wait was 1000% worth it. Impressive value for money. The highest quality fish for an absolutely fair price. We were even surprised at how inexpensive everything was. The Toro (otoro) tuna is a stunning MUST!!! You have to come here just for that. The butterfish was great, it's never been this tasty anywhere else. However, we have eaten the normal tuna more deliciously. In our opinion, the menu for 2 is intended for someone who is not hungry at all. The tuna sashimi roll and tuna sesame sashimi were underwhelming. Next time we will focus on the homemade selection of nigiri and sashimi. The Copenhagen tempura, spicy tuna and unagi rolls were delicious. We also thought the teas were very good. Very competent and unobtrusive service. We will come back and recommend it to everyone!!!

The best sushi I ever had in Berlin so far. The prices are higher than your usual sushi restaurant but for the quality it’s quite acceptable. They prepare everything fresh. We loved everything from soup to sashimi, steak nigiri to deserts. We will definitely come again!

I’ve booked a table here weeks ahead for a Valentine’s Day date - the hostess was very unfriendly when seating us and put us in a very uncomfortable tiny spot on top of another four guests. When asked if we could switch to one of the other five unoccupied tables of two she crudely said no. We left with no other dinner option for the night; disappointed without being served. Tacos on the couch tonight it is!

Absolutely delicious food but also excellent dining experience. The wood dominant interior is cozy but elegant. The food took us to marvelous tasting journey, everything was fresh and attention to detail was extraordinary. Unagi & salmon belly nigiri were absolute best. A hidden gem that we will always cherish, thank you for the amazing food.

great sushi nonetheless at 9.20pm with clearly space in the restaurant they made a big deal about being 20 mins late and then even went on saying we were late also in the past which actually didn’t happen. funny because again there was space and if as they said someone else took our table is unclear why they were so bothered. anyways luckily there are many other less annoying sushi in berlin

Omoni consistently has spectacular food and service over the last five years since I first discovered it. Even when the servers are new, it's always a good team that seems to work well together. The food is always fresh, rice is always the perfect texture, and fish of the best cuts and taste. The wine menu has a small but good selection that pairs well and is reasonably priced. I hope it continues this way!

Please be sure to bring back the shrimp rice bowl! Then I'll change my rating back to 5 stars. Some people (like me) like sushi and raw fish, but can't tolerate that much of it and need an alternative. The shrimp rice bowl was always the best addition to the sushi, please definitely add it back to the menu. Thanks!!!

Amazing sushi place. Probably I would keep the crown of best sushis of Berlin between them and Sasaya. Loved the super fresh fish, delicious combinations, perfectly cooked rice, beautiful ceramics and a lovely, calm and peaceful atmosphere. Extra kudos for an AC (not so common in Berlin) and for being pet friendly. Absolutely wonderful experience, can only recommend! Thanks for the great service as well.

Absolutely amazing authentic Japanese Sushi. Great quality and display. They stick to a slightly more simple menu, not offering too many different fish choices, but the quality of Salmon and Tuna, as well as the Ikka is outstanding! Definitely recommended! Actually downgraded my rating as lately my experience with the waitstaff was terribly bad. The attitude most of them have towards customers is something most guest remember once they leave this establishment and most likely never return. Food 5/5 Chef behind the counter 5/5 Waitstaff 1/5

We were very lucky to get a bar table as we hadn't booked and it was totally full... We got a view of the chef and his aid who were... Working very hard... With quite a bit of flair to their work. It really was quite fantastic. Chef made an ice cream salmon sushi for our little girl who was incredibly happy with it. I took the same whisky as the chef drank. It was excellent, as was the sushi. Definitely worth the price.

Best sashimi / sushi in Berlin, HANDS DOWN. Authentic and worth it. Trust me, I will never visit any other sushi bar except for omoni. Truly satisfy my Japanese food cravings. No European twist to it, and that’s what really checks it off for me. Friendly staffs too!

A really nice sushi place, small menu, FRESH fish and chilled atmosphere

We came here as the review was great. It is really nice food but not theeee best for such a high rating. The staff is super super nice but the biggest problem and the reason why i marked it low is that we waited for sushi more than 35 minutes. And we were standing at the bar where the sushi shef was talking all the time with some girls and all the orders were just piling. I really dont have a problem that people iterate but not in this setup where we all have to wait too much.

Wow, if you are looking for some amazing and authentic sushi in Berlin, I definitely recommend this restaurant. Make sure to book your table as it can get packed and it’s so worth it! It’s a chill spot where you can enjoy some great sushi for a great price.

When its closed you simple walk past. When you dont know exactly where it is, ypu walk past. Make sure to reserve at least some days in advance! It is our go to place when visiting Friends in B. They atmosphere is unique, some staff could be make more "jallah jallah" but its fine. Food. is. GREAT! I just love the way they prepare it and even pricy dishes are worth it! maybe check how your staff behave, just friendly advice. We come again!

nice little Japanese restaurant (run by a Korean) in Berlin Mitte. Nice atmosphere and delicious food. Since the boss is Korean, unfortunately there is no sake at all, which I think is a shame. Otherwise nicely decorated and delicious...

Absolutely bizarre experience very badly handled by inexperienced staff. This is not a food review as we werent served. We were visiting our friend in Berlin who reserved the table for us a week in advance. He’s been to this restaurant many times and is (was) a loyal customer. When we showed up they told us that our name is not on the list and that they dont have any table for us (most of the tables were still free as the people didnt show up for their reservations). They even asked my friend to show a call log to prove that he called. Which he did! It was an obvious mistake on the part of this restaurant’s staff, but instead of serving a customer who was already in the restaurant and arranging us a table while rescheduling someone who had a reservation later, they just behaved silly, repeating the same „we see you called but the list..” like a broken record. We finally left because it was clear they were incapable of correcting their mistake and found much better option for dinner at the end.

I’ve been to this place many times over the last several years and I always really enjoy the ambience. I really miss the chirashi sushi bowl, which used to be on the menu and was taken off during corona. It’s still a very enjoyable experience, and the food is good. I can honestly say, I always look forward to going back.

Ein sehr guter Laden mit hervorragendem Sushi. Es wird alles von einem sehr versierten Sushikoch zubereitet und ist immer wieder ein Erlebnis. Der beste Platz im Haus ist an der Bar, dort kann man dann nämlich bei der Zubereitung zuschauen. Für mich einer der besten Sushiläden in Berlin.

Food-wise, all very good, fresh and nicely presented, yet I didn't get this wow effect to give it all five stars. Good selection of wines. Last, but not least, reservation is absolutely a must, if you plan your visit on the weekend.

Nie wieder! So etwas haben wir noch nicht erlebt. Seit Jahren haben wir immer gern im Omoni gegessen, nun hat die Qualität nachgelassen und der Service ist unterirdisch. Obwohl bei der Reservierung nicht darauf hingewiesen, wurden wir gleich zu Beginn und immer wieder während des Essens darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass wir pünktlich nach 2 Stunden zu gehen hätten. Eine entspannte Gesprächsatmosphäre war so nicht möglich. Noch vor Ablauf der 2 Stunden stand die extrem unfreundliche Bedienung unmissverständlich mit der Abrechnung am Tisch und blieb solange stehen, bis wir bezahlt hatten. Trinkgeld gab es nicht und unsere Freunde und wir werden dieses unfreundliche Restaurant ab nun meiden. Sehr schade, wenn der Erfolg einem Restaurant zu Kopf steigt und der Gast nur noch als Goldesel betrachtet wird. Habt trotzdem alle ein schönes Weihnachtsfest

The food was great ! Fantastic sushi. However the staff decided to shut earlier and were glaring at me and my friend to leave. The closing time was advertised as 11:30pm online and we were told that they wanted to shut at 11pm. That's fine. However from 10.45pm we felt pressure from staff to leave asap. Very rude for no reason at all.

Mittelmässiges Sushi, dafür günstig. Einrichtung ist ganz hübsch. Ok als Imbiss oder wenn man keinen Bock zum Helmholtzplatz rüberzugehen.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal dort, auch wenn wir schon ein paar Jahre hier wohnen und uns das Restaurant oft empfohlen wurde. Das war ein großes Versäumnis! Das Essen ist eine Offenbarung. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

As a person who visited Japan several times, this place is so far the best nigiri place ever in my stay in Germany(as well as Unagi don). Very fair price for the quality. 🥰 Definately coming here again!!!!! 한국인이라면 독일내 타 아시안음식점 초밥의 맛에 실망했겠지만... 여긴 정말 맛있다ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ장어덮밥도 맛있고 연어초밥을 비롯해 다른 초밥들도 회가 두툼하고 맛있었다. 10년 넘게 있었다던데 더더더 번창하시고 계속 잘돼서 확장하셨으면 좋겠음ㅜㅜㅜ너무 맛있어서 헛웃음남
