Mido Restaurant Kreuzberg in Berlin

The food was really good, nothing to complain about. However, I have to strongly criticize the service and the way the employees treat customers. We had made a reservation for 15 people for a special occasion. After just an hour we were asked to change our seat because a birthday group was taking it up. Even though it was unpleasant, we accepted it. What was completely unacceptable, however, was that as soon as we had finished our meal, the bill was brought to us without asking, without the opportunity to calmly think about whether we might want to order dessert. It clearly seemed like they wanted to get rid of us as quickly as possible. Then we all pay and suddenly there is still an open invoice, even though everyone paid, we still had to check the open invoice, which may have been accidentally double-clicked on by an employee. This behavior is disrespectful and unprofessional. Of our group, 14 people feel absolutely dissatisfied and unappreciated. Under these circumstances we will definitely not visit this restaurant again.

The sushi is very special; I love it!

The food is very tasty and the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. Definitely more pleasant for us than at Adenauerplatz. The service is also very friendly. Every now and then one or two waiters are a bit pushy to get you to order. But otherwise for the price and everything else you can't fault it.

Super nice shop, great atmosphere and the service is simply top. I will always go there.

The restaurant was a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was very pleasant and cozy. The sushi was fresh and delicious, and you can tell the high quality of the ingredients. The service was excellent, the staff was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for sushi lovers and anyone who wants to have a good time.

We found the sushi to be rather standard and too expensive. Some of the roles were unusually narrow. When serving other tables, sauce was unnoticed and dripped onto our jacket. We were able to easily wash these out, but it was a sign that the seating in the restaurant was far too narrow. What was particularly annoying was that Happy Birthday was played every 5 minutes for someone. It really doesn't have to be 4x in 40 minutes. We personally won't be coming back.

Never been so disappointed. I've been going to this shop for three years and still ask every time if my dish is vegan. It was always confirmed to me that the dish was vegan. Surprise: It wasn't vegan! On the last visit there was finally a waiter who knew that the dish was not vegan. I ask myself why as a waiter you don't know what's in the dishes. And if you don't know, why don't you ask? The waiter who was the least responsible apologized to me. Unfortunately that doesn't do much for me. I've still eaten something non-vegan for 3 years now! I'm just traumatized by this experience!

Service was ok, you just had to wait a long time to order drinks. The food was actually very good but somehow something was missing. When it came to the baked vanilla ice cream, I didn't think the breading around the ice cream turned out well; I've had better implementations.

Very good (German) sushi restaurant! The ambience in the restaurant is typically Mido-style (see Ku’damm). This makes it look very modern. The restaurant is huge. There's a lot of staff (hence rotating waiters) and the speed of the kitchen is impressive. It took us exactly an hour from the time we entered the restaurant (including paying for starters and main courses) to the time we left the restaurant. Unfortunately, the Yakitori skewers were a bit dry and the Bun Bo Nam Bo was boring - I was hoping for more. The sushi, on the other hand, was really tasty and well prepared. We'll be back for the sushi!

I myself am a real sushi lover and have been to numerous sushi restaurants in Berlin and I have to say that I was not disappointed here at Mido Kreuzberg. The sushi was really of very good quality and tasted very tasty. The fish was fresh, the nori was nicely aromatic and not too tough, and the rice had the ideal consistency and aroma. I also really liked the supposed “supporting actor” ginger, which I personally attach great importance to when it comes to (fish) sushi, as it was not, as is often the case (unfortunately), very fibrous, small and crushed, but had nice, juicy pieces and that was the perfect accompaniment to the sushi. In addition to wonderful sushi, we were looked after by delicious drinks and attentive staff and had a really nice dinner. Thank you for a delicious sushi evening at Mido Kreuzberg!

I have eaten in your restaurant many times and have always been very satisfied. Unfortunately, I noticed a significant deterioration on my last two visits. The sushi rice was extremely mushy and the consistency made the food almost inedible. When I asked, I was told that you are currently testing new varieties of rice. I understand that improvements and testing are necessary, but I find it inappropriate to do these at the expense of guests. In my opinion, such tests should be done internally before the dishes are served to guests. I hope that this changes in the future so that I can enjoy eating with you again.

Very tasty and fresh sushi with cool presentation. Ambience also very nice. The special rolls with avocado and salmon coating are awesome. Highly priced, but the quality is very good. For a meal for two people including starters and drinks you should expect to pay at least 100 EUR.

A friend showed me the restaurant and I was immediately hyped about it. The sushi plates look really good. Unfortunately a bit expensive, but it's worth it

_On October 3rd, 2024, local time 10:30 p.m., ordered takeaway food._ Dear sushi lovers and readers! Today I experienced my blue miracle. The restaurant, which actually stands for good service and a nice ambience, failed in all categories today. I still don't know where to start... I was treated ignorantly at the counter and waited for the waiter, who preferred to talk to the female guests. I checked the take-away order on site and discovered that the cocktail sauce was missing from the breaded shrimp. Asked the waiter to add the sauce so I didn't have to eat the food ice cold at home. The waiter then “looks for” the missing sauce including the container and comes back with smeared hands. He holds the sauce with his fingers and tries to close the container with the overflowing sauce in his hand. I then asked him to put the sauce back into a new container because I found it unhygienic how he wanted to hand it to me. He went back and didn't come back. Meanwhile, the other waiter was still talking to the guests, so I left the shop with the order in hand and no sauce. Unbelievable happiness awaited me at home. The breaded shrimp were neither deveined nor edible as they were ice cold and tasted like old frying oil. The sushi I ordered was inedible. The rice was hard and cold; The fish smelled very bad and the miso soup was poorly seasoned. Unfortunately I then had to throw away the food because it wasn't even edible. I feel that the restaurant has seriously deteriorated in terms of quality and service. It's time to speak the truth and not keep ignoring it because everyone here has the right to know that things are not going well in this restaurant.

Been there on September 3rd, 2024. Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing, especially the sauce for the spring rolls. I'm not a sushi eater myself, but I really enjoyed it here. The service staff are absolutely friendly and they are happy to give you a tip.

Edit September 2024.: Today I had the beef bowl, very tasty and good portion. In terms of price, everything is still completely ok and the terrace right on Marheinike Platz is really great! Service was, as usual, super quick and friendly. If my friends don't get the raw fish, I'll let you know. Original review from 2023: I actually really like the shop but the last salad with grilled fish was extremely bad for me. Severe symptoms such as food poisoning the day after. I'm not the only one this has happened to here Please ensure perfect kitchen hygiene and I will be happy to come back!

Food 10/10 and value for money is also right

Very nice lunch menu. The food was very tasty. I really enjoyed it and my friend also enjoyed her lunch. The only complaint I have is that the soup which was the appetizer was brought out about 4 minutes before the food which did not give enough time to actually eat this soup before the meal came. That is not such a big deal but it would be nice not to feel rushed eating the meal.

Sushi to take away was very tasty, but one packet of soy sauce was far too little. Otherwise very nice employees in the short encounter and the decor of the Mido restaurants is uniquely beautiful anyway.

We had an amazing dinner at Mido Xberg! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home with their friendly and welcoming energy. The food was absolutely delicious. The highlight was the main course—beautifully presented and just as incredible in taste. I recommend :)

We really had a really tasty meal. It tasted so fresh that we immediately ordered the same subsi plate again. It's very nice to sit outside in summer and the staff is really friendly. We would love to eat here again!

Mrin's food was served incorrectly. I received peanut sauce instead of curry sauce. The blame was completely placed on me. No insight was shown. I then ordered the same dish again with curry and had to pay for both, even though the dish with the peanut sauce wasn't even touched.

Were implemented 3 times with children. Since we had to change tables so often, our food was forgotten and we only got it after 50 minutes when we asked. Doesn't work at all. There were also 2 dogs in the restaurant!!!

Mido in a very nice level were already in the video in Charlottenburg but here it is visually much nicer. The ambience is definitely mega, come eat here :).

The platter for 2 is interesting, the ingredients are very fresh. The sushi on the platter is not surprising, but it is well executed. Good note for the presentation. As for the service, rather uneven. The lady who served us was not very friendly and did not come back to see us during dinner, for example to offer us wine. On the other hand, the young men who also worked that evening were very nice.

We had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant. Many thanks to the professional chefs and waiters.

Been a couple of times for sushi, it’s always been tasty. I’ve had some awful sushi in berlin but I know this place is a safe bet. The service is quite good, sometimes it can take a little while to pay even when it’s not very busy. Also, if you sit outside, prepare to be submerged in cigarette smoke, rather unfortunate.

Good food, more than questionable service. One person was served the wrong meal (which she did not order). Instead of taking the dish back, the waiter insisted on eating this dish anyway. After 45 minutes at the table and with the plates still half full, people wanted to clear the table without being asked. Never again.

My friend took me here for sushi because he kept saying how good they were. We got the salmon tartare and a sushi set. The fish was really fresh which I actually surprised. The price is quite affordable. The set is €38 with 2 miso soup. We were so full. We sit outside, the atmosphere is nice, the space is big and a lot of sitting. Will come back.

Mixed up our orders, giving the wrong food to someone with allergies. Too bad because otherwise it's a really beautiful place.

I have always loved this restaurant but I was extremely disappointed today. I was there with the family and we ordered the Mido Curry. We specifically asked whether there were any types of beans in the vegetables. We were told that they will specially make it without beans because we specifically said that the person is extremely allergic to it. But who would have thought, it was served with individual beans or the beans were simply taken out and put on the other plate! It is absolutely not okay to say that it is not served/cooked with beans even though you explicitly said you are allergic! You could have said we couldn't cook the sauce from scratch, then we would have simply ordered something else. I'm just shocked. That could have ended very badly, but fortunately my friend had to vomit straight away and there were no serious consequences.

Best sushi in Berlin and beyond

My expectations with this restaurant were very high but I was so disappointed. The place is really nice and there are so many spaces and tables inside or outside. We started with the drinks with no alcohol and unfortunately it was the worst drink I ever had, mine was basically warm syrup, even though the glass had ice, extremely sweet. Disgusting. My husband drank another drink without alcohol with lime and it was better, but not good. Food was ok, although the sushi came in a kind of step, is not easy to eat and if you are not familiar with the chopsticks it could be hard to eat. The dumplings were delicious, we ordered the one with shrimp. We sat outside because the day was delicious and warm, but if you are no smoker like me I recommend sitting inside, we left smoked by cigarettes. We had to ask for the check/bill 3 times because nobody could bring to us. Overall: Not a good experience.

After we asked if the sauce for my friend was gluten-free, the answer was a resounding yes. Now she feels really bad and throws up all the time. It can't come from anything other than the sauce. #neverthereagain #ripanmyfriend
