Ols - Brauhaus am Hafen in Oldenburg (Oldb)

Good food with wonderful, home-brewed beers. Many just on tap! Great.

Friendly service! Food was reheated (hot on the outside, cold on the inside). Both dishes (goulash and roulade) were dry and poorly presented. Cucumber salad was missing from the goulash, but I was given a mixed salad upon request. The beer was flat.

Beautiful location, especially when the weather's good. We placed an order and were unfortunately forgotten... Nevertheless, the server was super nice and accommodating. Therefore, full marks.

After waiting for 30+ minutes to even get the menus, I asked if we could order or at least get the menus. A well-rounded, grim-looking man barked at me rudely, asking if he could help me. He looked aggressive and intimidating, so after another 15 minutes of waiting, we left the restaurant. It was extremely quiet, and the experience was incomparably horrific.

Today was our second time at Ols Brauhaus. The first time, despite having made a reservation, we were seated at a high table where my parents, who are over 80, could barely sit. The staff were unwilling to swap tables. Nevertheless, we gave the restaurant a second chance today. The table was okay this time. We ordered Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes. Initially, the food took a very long time to arrive. When it finally arrived, the fried potatoes were almost cold and half of them were charred black. Almost like briquettes. Inedible in no way. When we spoke to the server about it, she said she was sorry and that she heard similar criticisms from other guests too. But she couldn't change it. Sorry, but I've rarely experienced such service. We won't be going to Ols again anytime soon.

Absolutely fantastic on the harbor, ideal for both indoor and outdoor dining. Great food, friendly service, and a nice atmosphere.

Nice, friendly atmosphere with very attentive staff. The location is great, the prices are appropriate, and the quality of the drinks and food was excellent. Highly recommended for a stay in Oldenburg. We'd be happy to come back.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. I can't really say anything about the food, as they were out of buns, so no burgers either... Suddenly, ⅓ of the food was unavailable. A huge fail. The food of the others at the table wasn't freshly prepared. Fresh in the sense of homemade. Open the bag, throw it in the fryer, and it's done. The prices are too high and the wait too long for that. The service was nice, but quite uncoordinated, and private visitors seemed more important than us as guests. Despite empty glasses on the tables, not even a single question was asked if we wanted something to drink. Particularly embarrassing for a brewery: warm beer. We sat outside, but had to shout at each other because the music was extremely loud. It wasn't my first visit, but it will certainly be my last.

It's a good option if you're waiting for the train. The staff is friendly and attentive, and it's always busy; that speaks volumes about quality.

I had brought a six-pack of different beers straight from the brewery at the harbor. When I got home, I immediately examined it. Unfortunately, the beer was out of date. That definitely shouldn't happen for that price.

Great atmosphere; we sat in the winter garden with a delicious schnitzel buffet and good beer. We'd happily go back and recommend it to others.

The Brauhaus is highly recommended. The service was extremely friendly and courteous, explained things well, and even had a casual conversation. That was cool. From Neumünster to the Brauhaus, a solid A. The next visit is already planned for the next evening. :-)

I was looking forward to asparagus with schnitzel; unfortunately, my expectations were dashed by a brewery that serves food. Usually, you can get high-quality German cuisine at the breweries I know from southern Germany. Unfortunately, not here. Frozen food is what you expect when it comes to schnitzel here. The asparagus and beer were good, the schnitzel was a disgrace. Maybe it was Murphy's Law, but everything went wrong for us: We waited 1.5 hours for our food, received substandard quality for exorbitant prices, and the bill at the end wasn't right either.

I'm still waiting for my food.......

A nice place by the water, I recommend you to try their unique beer, a place to have a good time.

Fantastically located, very tasty food

We have been to Ols several times now. Basic good food without a lot of frills. A highlight are the home-made beers. So why the average rating? As soon as the outside temperature has reached 20 degrees, you can expect relatively long waiting times and piping hot beer because the crowd is so large. Unfortunately, that's no fun!

Lara and Sally are simply the best service people in the world and both deserve an uprank kiss on the nut ❤️

Great location and delicious food and beer!

Um 20:30 Uhr war ich im Lokal. 20:40 Uhr wurde ich gefragt, ob ich etwas bestellen würde. Die Kellnerin würde kommen. Um 21:00 Uhr kam ein Kellner und nahm die Bestellung auf. Leider habe ich um 21:45 Uhr immer noch nichts bekommen. Weder ein Getränk noch mein Snack. Die Bestellung digital aufzunehmen, zeigt sich mir kompliziert. Ich stand auf und fragte eine andere Kellnerin, ob ich unsichtbar als Einzelperson sei. Ich kann dieses Lokal leider nicht empfehlen. Leider wurde mir auch nichts entgegengebracht. Und tschüss wurde mir gesagt. Das ist sehr schade.

Nice brewery with delicious beer, there are also beers from branded breweries. Nice location, you can hang out here. Food is also very tasty.

Unfortunately we were unlucky. According to the very friendly service employee, we were there at 2 p.m. too “early” to get a cold beer. And this in a brewery where beer should be the core competency. Ours was stale and way too warm. We didn't eat because we had already heard clear criticism in advance from two tables next to us. Cold potato wedges, salad with asparagus with hardly any asparagus. We're still thinking about our next visit.

Good brewery with delicious beer and reasonable food.

We came as group for dinner and beer. The beer and the staff was superb. The waitress had her first evening and she did a fabulous job trying to serve us. Her colleagues supported her. It was simply a great team. The food. Nothing to write about. Most of us had schnitzel. Some pork and others veal. When served the schnitzels looked identical with the same batter showing that it had been prepared in too much grease. The fried potatoes sailed in its grease and finally the so-called bearnaise sauce reminded me more of mayonnaise than a sauce. The three stars is only given due to the beer and the staff

The schnitzel was very tasty. Unfortunately, the cranberries that were on the menu were missing. That's what there was mayo for. Otherwise the toilet is a bit difficult to find, but still doable. All in all, it was a wonderful and enjoyable evening!

Nicely located on the river, small outside bar. Very crowded on warm days. Good selection, tasty food, friendly staff, but understaffed on our evening, so waiting times were quite long. Toilets are a bit difficult to find. Stem fits in the restaurant.

Most of our own beers have not been available for months. There is no notice on the website or on Facebook. If you sit outside in the back area there is only a limited beer and menu. Here, too, there is no information on the table.

The pollack fillet from the “Fish/Dippers” dish was cooked into wet fish pulp in the thick batter.

Wow, what a big store! The service was really great – very friendly and with a nice dose of humor. We were also impressed by the home-brewed beer, really tasty! Unfortunately, we were not satisfied with the food in our group. My fried potatoes seemed like convenience food and were only served lukewarm - so I didn't eat them. For the food, 2 stars would actually be generous, but because of the great service and the quality of the beer, it deserves some improvement overall.

Achtung Abzocke! Wir haben zwei Gläser Apfelsaft bestellt. Mehr als 30% des Getränkes bestand aus Eis. So kann man Kosten sparen. Die Bedienung meinte nur, wir hätten sagen müssen, daß wir Saft ohne Eis haben wollen. Eis ist grundsätzlich nicht schlecht, aber nicht so.

It was not possible to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere and fully appreciate the establishment, as we only peeked in to try the signature Oldenburg beer and drank it outside on the summer terrace. Served by a nice girl, but it seemed that she was not very kind to our company, maybe because we did not communicate very well in German

... outside there is a beautiful location right on the water... the alcohol-free Ols is great -☆☆☆☆☆

I had the impression that singles who sit there alone are served a little less attentively - or is it "normal" to wait 50 minutes for their food? The tarte flambée was okay, just slightly seasoned.

Nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The service was great - dynamic and friendly. The food was very tasty. Great flavor components and good quality. I can highly recommend the Ols Dark Lemon.

The food and the staff were very friendly. The food selection and the portions are large. A unique criticism: two beers were already sold out at 5 p.m.

Actually, I should have followed my rule (if there's nothing going on at the best time, it's better not to go in) or read the negative reviews beforehand. But unfortunately I fell into the trap. I have nothing to complain about (unlike some others here) about the ambience and service. Even more so when it comes to eating! I ordered the Brauhaus Schnitzel with fried potatoes, hollandaise and cucumber salad. At a price of €18.90, I was sure I was getting restaurant quality. It also came very quickly - as was the disillusionment: schnitzel was frozen food thrown into the deep fryer (I can bring it to the chip shop, but not to the restaurant). The fried potatoes were hidden under the stuck-together (!) schnitzel and 1/4 of them were already completely fried. The hollandaise, served separately, was simply poured cold into a small bowl. Why bother with the water bath? When asked if everything was okay, a clear no. After explaining my claim, I was offered to speak to the boss - but he was no longer in the house at the best time. Ultimately there was a discount on the food because of the disappointment, which is ok - I still won't be back.

We were there yesterday with 11 people (we had reserved in advance). We had to wait two hours for our food, even though we ordered it in advance, which is really sad. Too bad

Been here for the second time and again it was a culinary highlight! Matjes are above average, as are spinach dumplings. You are happy to accept the longer waiting time. And the beer is also something special. If you visit Oldenburg, you shouldn't miss the Ols. The only minus, which didn't concern us, was that the toilets are not barrier-free and you have to go down steps.

Ich bewerte heute nur mal die Damentoilette. Klobürste lag auf dem Fussboden. Handdesinfektionsmittel war leer. Seifenspender hing "auf halb acht" zwischen den Becken. Ich hoffe das war nur eine Tagessituation....dürfte in meinen Augen dennoch kein Zustand in einem Restaurant sein.

Very disappointed with the hamburger. The meat is firm, tough ((like frozen and heated in the microwave) Overall taste not particularly tasty and aromatic, cheapest ingredients! Sorry, I expect better for this price. Fries really aren't particularly tasty and too salty too bad:( The servive was very friendly, thank you :)

In summer it's a dream to sit outside. The beers are simply delicious and I love the Black Betty. Unfortunately the food is too expensive for me and the portions are rather small.

Insanely great restaurant right on the water. The vegan kale can't be beat and the beer is fantastic!

Great place to combine a beer with something to eat, much more in the summer. Unfortunately, the Backfisch was a cheaper frozen frying variant, which could really be improved.

Wide choice of draft beer. The own beers are fine. I think the pilsner, schwarzbier and IPA are recommended. The service at the bar varies in quality. Personal curiosity and contact would make it more pleasant. Not every bartender understands that here. The beer knackers are highly recommended.

Quaint local. Unfortunately, when we walked in it smelled like sour beer. Two hundred of us were assigned a small round table. Cards were delivered quickly, but we had to wait about 15 minutes before we could place an order. The service was quite friendly, but quite slow. A good hour after entering the restaurant we got our food: schnitzel with fried potatoes and currywurst with dippers. The Schnitzel was extremely thin, almost more breading than meat, tasted okay. The small cucumber salad consisted of 6 slices of cucumber... Overall, absolutely expandable.

The visit to Ols Brauhaus was the culmination of a week of travel. We had the kale platter and the veal schnitzel. Highly recommended. The service was extremely friendly and competent.

I was in Oldenburg on business and was invited to the OLs in a large group. Everything worked out for me. The food was delicious, even the vegetarian-oriented colleagues found something. If I were to end up in OL privately, OLs would be on the shortlist.

The OLs is always in the basement. I particularly like the OLs Dark. I visit the associated restaurant more often, like last night. And as always: Well attended but we managed to get a table, GREAT service (thanks Sabrina!) and delicious food! Really recommended. It's a shame that there are still no peanuts or something similar to order for "dessert"! Ambiance deducted one star because unfortunately it happens more often, including yesterday, that the toilets are unkempt (large puddles of water here) and the paper towel dispensers are empty. These dispensers also have a manual dial that you have to turn to get paper replenishment. It's disgusting when you see how some people use their fingers...

Ols beer is a loyal companion at home. But we hadn't been to Ols itself until that evening. We weren't disappointed! We already knew what the beer tasted like, but the food was also fantastic. In addition, the view of the harbor is really beautiful when the sun is shining! The only suggestion for improvement: The service staff is very friendly, but unfortunately you have to spend a lot of time outside before you are served... Nevertheless, we will definitely come back!

Things have slowed down a bit, especially the previously ultra-tasty goulash is no longer available. Drinks and ambience still first class..
