Ols - Brauhaus am Hafen in Oldenburg (Oldb)

Things have slowed down a bit, especially the previously ultra-tasty goulash is no longer available. Drinks and ambience still first class..

Nice cozy restaurant in the center with many beers on tap, including mainly beers from the own brewery. Food was okay too.

Visiting there again after a long time. The staff was totally overwhelmed that evening. Waited forever for the menu and no one came to take the order. After a long wait we got up and left. The waitress didn't notice you leaving the restaurant. Service wasn't even worth 1 star this time. Very unfortunate.

Yesterday we spontaneously opened at Ols am Hafen, it was very busy but we still had a lovely evening with delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. To our delight, we met the friendly service from Ahoi, who always rounded off the evening in a friendly manner and with a smile. We'll definitely be back.

Yesterday we spontaneously went to eat there again after a long time and got a good seat inside. We had a top waitress (blond hair and glasses) who could do her job, and we had rarely laughed so much and been treated as warmly as a guest as yesterday. That was rather difficult last time and not always like that in Ols. The food was also very good! Thank you again for the lovely evening!

Update 2024, no service and absurd prices. Goulash 3 pieces and 10 potatoes €23.90. Decide for yourself. If you don't have to go, you won't get anything to drink anyway. Service makes an effort but there is either nothing at all or the wrong thing. The icing on the cake was that the bartender almost dipped his fingers into the glasses and then filled them without rinsing. Bah! I'm never going there again.

Not the entire outdoor area is catered for. We had to order our own drinks at the counter from an incredibly bad-tempered waiter and carry them out ourselves. Plus high prices. In the past the food was also rather bad. In our opinion, the restaurant only survives because of its location.

The service was good, but unfortunately my goulash wasn't particularly seasoned and didn't really taste like goulash. The tarte flambées were also rather mediocre - the sauces on them weren't really convincing, and overall everything was quite dry.

23 counts beautiful sunny day. When we arrived at Ols, we visited the interior after 20 minutes to find out that they can't take orders at the moment because they can't keep up with the cones. We were asked to move from the outside area to the inside area so that they could provide the service even though the outside area is also part of it. Conclusion: we went and unfortunately I can't recommend the location once again.

Have been there several times in the outdoor area. Unfortunately, the service so far has been very limited. We thought... well, since the Corona period you have to be happy that there are staff there at all. But today I have to express my displeasure: I literally had to beg to place an order. Receive drinks. After 20 minutes and after repeated requests we received the menu. 30 minutes later we still couldn't get our food order out. Then got up to pay at the counter. Wasn't possible. Only when it came to service was the answer rude. What if there is no service? Our criticism was only apologized tersely. It doesn't work at all. You don't need to be treated like that. There are much better places in Oldenburg.

The location might be the best, or at least one of the best, in the entire city. Next to the harbour, near to the center, not far away from the train station. A perfect place for an after-work beer. The food is fine, not so many choices but all I have tried was quite good.

A somewhat boring menu but there are many different types of beer. However, the Bieramisu is highly recommended, as is the white cabbage roulade, the only vegan main course.

a great place to have a good time and relax. Admire the setting sun. The only little thing is that on the street, in the bar, you can't pay in cash, only with a card. However, this problem can be solved on the spot if you go to the cafe and pay the waiter there.

Nice place at the harbor, good beer. The food was inedible. Even in a bistro you can expect fish in fresh batter. Instead there was frozen fish in dry industrial breading, probably from the microwave. Unworthy of a port city!

Great load! Very nice, courteous service. When the weather is good you can sit wonderfully on the edge of the harbor. I'd love to come back!

Unfortunately the food wasn't really tasty... The buffet had already been selected... Sausages were very salty... I ordered drinks and they arrived quickly... Unfortunately, three other staff members simply walked past the table without asking.

Rustic restaurant with top beer and a great view of the harbor

There is everything your heart desires here. Good food, wonderful beer and very attentive service. Just ask for Kadir. Especially if you are here with children. We always called him the “cheeky wizard.” Let yourself be surprised. 😍

You have to wait a long time to be served. Toilets were ok, but there were no towels for the hands.

Unfortunately it was not possible to order. We would sit at a table (with tens of them identically arranged one behind the other, ours about 5m from the door) "outside" the service area. Table service would only be possible from tree X to tree Y, the slightly bored waiter told us. We looked in vain for a clue or something similar. It's hard to believe what some GFs come up with. On the other hand, advertising... what madness. We then preferred to move to a better location.

We had planned a nice girls' evening and met at Ols-Brauhaus. My expectation after looking at the menu in advance: fresh bistro food. Our orders took a long time, which was understandable given the beautiful weather and the many guests on the terrace. When the food came - large portions, ...well a lot of onion rings over salad and herring; Side salad - from the bag, but the leaves are already brown, the tomato slices are soft = old? What was bad was that a friend had to return her fish after the first bite because it was spoiled. The food is therefore almost no-go. Drinks were OK. After the visit, at least two of us continued to “enjoy” what we ate. I got a message that one of the friends had to clean herself of what she had eaten upstairs and downstairs as soon as she got home. I had stomach problems all night and barely made it to the toilet when I got up. At least in three cases rather dangerous to health? Hygiene? Case for the health department? The friends were a joy, the restaurant probably not again!!!

The location of the oil is unique. The view of the beautiful harbor entices you to linger. At this point I would like to praise the outstanding service from “Alinski”. Food and drinks very well maintained and super tasty. Is in the middle price segment. Cool location with rustic outdoor seating. The staff is always attentive, relaxed, cheerful and always polite. I ate there 2 out of 3 days. Absolutely recommended 💯

Great atmosphere 👍🏽 and wonderful people. Ols always works. Unfortunately the online menu is not up to date and I am looking forward to a changing menu with typical Ols (brewery) dishes: *Spent grain bread TRIO (I was so looking forward to that! What a shame) *Beeramisu ...or other creative dishes. The salads looked super tasty.

Outside counter sinfully bad. Waiting time for beer more than 20 minutes. The poor man has to do everything alone. The beer is stale before I receive it. You can better spend the wonderful summer evening at the train station, where you can get beer within 1 minute, without waiting.

Saturday 6.30 p.m.: loud music from the speakers, the entire street is filled with sound. Without me, because I want to be able to have a conversation and not have to yell at each other. Zero stars for bad ambience. I'm never coming back.

Brilliant place to have a drink and chill in Oldenburg as well as to eat. They have lots of different beers that one could try, unfortunately we did not have time to try more than 3 but maybe next time.

Friendly staff, sloppy and slow service. We were fully motivated to finally visit Ol's: drinking beer is very good here! Quickly choose something from the small menu. The veal schnitzel! Dripping with fat, fried potatoes came as potato slices pulled through oil, no onion, no bacon, no salt. The salad with goat cheese: Cheese was very tasty, Cesar dressing was almost impossible to find, cucumber slices were dried - no P&S on the table. After half a liter of beer, the driver first had to eat something to be able to tackle the small selection (6x0.1 l). The beer sat for a long time and got warm, food came after a long time, etc. - Not everything was consumed - there were just two of us with just under 80 euros. A pity.

The positive: the location is a dream and the staff is very good. The negative: the food is overpriced and in my case (vegetarian burger) a total failure. The toilets are an absolute no-go. Just dirty

Great location but... First of all: the location at the small harbor is beautiful. The staff was also friendly, even if sometimes helpless - but that's why we get the 3 stars.. Unfortunately, my “colorful harbor salad” was at the level of a hospital canteen. Tasteless tomatoes (in July), finely chopped iceberg lettuce, a few pieces of pepper and lots of grated carrots. Decorated with a few parmesan shavings and the whole thing SOAKEN in a 2cm high vinaigrette sauce... the two lukewarm brown bread slices couldn't save the whole thing. The price of €13.80 was not even remotely justified. The staff has I initially accepted my comment with a smile and a shrug of the shoulders, but the second waiter at least wanted to pass it on. Nice location for a drink on a warm summer evening, but for food, non merci.

Sicherlich hat man im Biergarten vom OL's eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf den kleinen Oldenburger Hafen. Das Personal war freundlich, wenn auch nicht sehr erfahren oder umsichtig. Allei dafür vergebe ich heute Sterne. Als Weintrinkerin kann ich auch nicht die Biere bewerten. ABER: was hier gestern als "bunter Hafensalat" angeboten wurde, war eine Frechheit. Ein bisschen Eisbergsalat, völlig weiche, geschmacklose Tomaten, drei Raspel Parmesn, und aller ertränkt in einer 2cm hohen Pfütze aus Essig/Öl-Drrssing. Dazu gab es zwei lauwarme Scheiben Graubrot. Das ganze für knappe 14 Euro!! Meine Reklamation wurde mit Hilflosigkeit entgegengenommen. Dies ist das erste Mal, dass ich eine Restaurantkritik verfasse, aber jeder Kantinen- oder Krankenhaussalat hätte besser geschmeckt. Ich kann nur hoffen, dass es sich um einen Einzelfall handelt, aber ich werde das nicht noch einmal überprüfen.

During our stay in Oldenburg we went to Ols on two consecutive evenings. A very cozy shop with delicious food and many different types of beer and what was also great, the staff and the food! You're great! LG and keep it up!

Is it normal that when there are hardly any customers you have to wait more than 15 minutes until someone asks what you want to drink? Maybe it was also due to the waitress who thought it was more important to have private conversations with another customer right next to us. After 15 minutes we left again and saw that others were already annoyed, poor performance

Very good beer, the food is not bad but not special either. The service is not attentive, there is a long wait until someone comes and in the end they charged more than what was drunk.

Great ambience and tasty food, at least the buffet at lunchtime was also reasonably priced. There is also a great view of the harbor from the winter garden. The selection of beers is also not to be sniffed at. The next visit will definitely come soon!

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Food can be improved. I had salad with salmon. The small bowl was full to overflowing and the salad was drowned in balsamic vinegar.

Wonderful location at the harbor. Plus the flea market. Almost a little Parisian flair. If, yes, if it weren't for the catastrophic service! Waiters came out several times, took orders, cleared dishes and brought food. Only at my table and at the next table we were completely ignored at first. After 20 minutes of sunbathing, someone happened to come and take an order for 1 cappu from me at the next table and wanted to bring the menu at my request. The cappu came quickly, but it was once again one of those giant buckets that tasted more like milk than coffee. At least something like that fills you up, because the card didn't come at all, no request or anything. And so I left the shop, all I could do was put money on the table because there was no reaction from anyone. Hui...

Cozy location, nice staff and delicious food and beer

Super nice staff and great ambience directly overlooking the harbor. We ate asparagus, which was very tasty. Always happy to come back.

Absolutely poor service, demotivated, uncoordinated and inattentive staff. It really wasn't crowded. The waitresses walked past us several times and when we were noticed, they first asked each other who could serve us. After ordering, we waited almost 45 minutes for our 2 drinks (2x bottled beer!). The neighboring table was in the restaurant 10 minutes after us and had their drinks just 5 minutes after they ordered. Once again the waitress walked past us several times and we were sitting within sight of the counter. We then left without receiving the drinks.

Not only can they do beer at OLS, they can also do cocktails and the kitchen is competent in every respect. I won't forget the tarte flambée from last time so quickly.

First of all, big compliments to the staff. I was treated courteously and very friendly. We visited the restaurant in a fairly large group and no one had to wait. The only downside, however, was the food. The salad side dish was the most homemade here. For just under €20 there is still room for improvement. The beer was great though.

Went there spontaneously for 2-3 beers. A great location with a good range of different types of beer. The service is outstanding. Lara was competent, friendly and very well organized. It was a nice evening with good friends.

Something to chill out outdoors and snack on

We didn't eat there, so I can't rate it. We only had two beers there. The service was very on the ball, friendly and chatty. He even cared when the beer wasn't poured as quickly as he thought it should be. We didn't complain at all. The beer was good and there is a huge selection too. The ambience is typical of a brewery and I really like it.

For lovers of dark beer - I recommend it

A visit of a slightly different kind. First of all, I can only agree with the reviews. The ambience is really really nice. But the service was something new even for long-suffering Berliners. Once while eating a tarte flambée, the wrong one was brought. No problem can happen, you think, and it won't take long to imitate the right one. After half an hour we asked again whether he had been forgotten. After another 20 minutes the real tarte flambée arrived and we were offered drinks on the house as compensation. Annoying, but it can happen and we thought the goodwill was there. What we didn't expect was that the waitress didn't show up for the next 15 minutes to take our order, which was intended as compensation. A very unique kind of humor in a brewery that is probably half full at best. The fact that you had to pay in advance had its pros and cons. The tip given in good faith was of course wasted, but you could just leave otherwise we would probably still be sitting there ^^

For a cozy beer shortly before 9 p.m., preferably to the Ols Brauhaus. Oh dear, even though the brewery is open until 10 p.m., there's nothing left to eat, snacks with beer - none, the kitchen is closed (why do you need a kitchen for snacks, bread, etc.?) In short: unfortunately the waiter seems to be king here and not the customer. A pity.

At Ols we were served very friendly and quickly and tried the new "cloudy Alster" - very tasty. You can really recommend Ols!!

My "the place to have a beer" in Oldenburg - but not today. Food was just mediocre - fish and dippers were once awesome. 😐 But the service today was terrible. Waiting times for a beer were so long - every beer became an Altbier. And the restaurant was moderately busy and there were plenty of staff running around. 🫣 Although, the third beer came quickly. But the girls had taken over the matter too. 👍

Our waiter Kadir was super nice and helpful! The whole establishment is super relaxed, cult and the beer is delicious
