Oktober in Hamburg

Went there every evening from October 3rd to 5th with a larger group from half of Germany. Super friendly staff, responded really well to reservations and there were already one or two on the house. Food very tasty, reasonable prices

We were full at brunch. The tables are crowded inside. Unfortunately, the positive price difference compared to other restaurants is noticeable. I'll happily spend more and dine somewhere else next time.

We had breakfast there on Saturday. I just say DISASTER. Hardly any choice. No plates, no rolls, no pickles and so on. We were shocked. Then there were only wheat rolls and they were really hard. We sat for almost an hour and no one cleaned up the plates. I really wouldn't recommend it. Maybe just have a coffee. Not more

Super tasty food, super friendly service, changes were implemented very well. You feel really comfortable

We're here for breakfast today and I have to say it's really great 👍 very cozy, warm rolls, large selection of toppings, muesli. Only a little fruit is missing. But we were all full 😉

Roast beef was ok, the fried potatoes were too fatty. The Greek salad consisted almost entirely of iceberg lettuce, but the service was responsive

Hello, went to the breakfast buffet today (daily 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., €9.90) Price for what is offered is completely ok for me. I would expect more for brunch, but not for the breakfast buffet. 2 types of rolls, croissants and brown bread, muesli, eggs, 4 types of semi-hard cheese, mozzarella balls, Camembert wedges, butter, cream cheese, honey, Nutella, raw vegetables/cucumber, tomato, some peppers and of course cold cuts in different types (probably turkey according to demand), but there I don't eat it anyway... There's plenty of coffee too. The only point deducted is that everything is offered in portions in these plastic things. I would still like to come back for the breakfast buffet.

You can always go there in Harburg, I'm thrilled, I've been there several times in October 👍🤗

Very nice service, I ordered spagetti Bolognese, unfortunately it hardly tasted like tomato sauce but more like Maggie broth, it's also a shame that there was no finely grated Parmesan with it. The waitress apologized several times, but she couldn't do anything about it. Unfortunately the food wasn't edible but the roll with the dipping sauce was good. We also ordered a cheeseburger, which unfortunately wasn't particularly good. The atmosphere outside is very pleasant under the large umbrellas, and the prices are ok too.

There are two stars because it used to be much better. But the last few times it was so bad that we won't go again. Some employees don't speak German perfectly, which I generally don't find problematic. But if the completely wrong dish is brought to the table and you know that you had ordered something different, I expect a little more friendliness than just running away with the plate in exasperation. Since my partner got his food at the same time and I had to wait a second time, we ate separately. Without an apology or anything. When we asked questions about allergens, the employee was completely overwhelmed and didn't offer to send someone who understood us or to ask questions in the kitchen. In general, the friendliness of at least some employees can be improved, to say the least. Waiting to be asked if you would like to order something else is also in vain. Without clearly drawing attention to yourself, it won't work. It's also better to go straight in to pay the bill, unless you want to wait another 20 minutes. It should be said that none of the times we were there were particularly busy. The food itself was actually always very good. However, you rarely get the same thing twice, even if you order the same thing. I don't know whether there are different chefs at work or why. But last time the portion was suddenly only half as big as usual. All in all it was very disappointing.

Wonderful. The food was so delicious. Romantic. We will be back.

I already knew October from before. I think the operator has changed now. Food, ambience and staff are solid and good. Every now and then there's just a little bit missing that makes it really good. My casserole was great. Unfortunately the neighbor's steak was a bit dry. The drinks came quickly, but unfortunately the order took a while. The ice cream was great, but the milkshake was unfortunately more cold milk than a shake. No broken legs but still some air. I'll come back to watch this. 😄

The store can't even handle the fried potatoes. Go eat somewhere else if you want quality.

Went there for brunch on July 14th, 2024 in a group of 4. First met the cheerless face of a service employee. When choosing a seat, I already had the feeling that I was intruding. The brunch itself started with me getting the last plate, but my companion left empty-handed. But then there were no more knives, so there was a compensatory injustice. I just had to spread the bun with butter and a fork. And it took another 10 minutes for the knives to arrive. Later there was no hot water to brew tea, so we informed the service staff. Again nothing happens for 10 minutes. Then I told another person, then water came, but it had to be made hot first, so no tea. The food on offer was average at best, the rolls not a bit better than what Lidl or Aldi sells. The service staff (and by that I mean everyone I saw in the store) basically looked unresponsive and overwhelmed. One person at our table said she had never experienced anything like this in the store. But that was enough for me, I won't try brunch in October for another 2-3 years. 18.90 euros is okay for a brunch, but the service that day was absolutely inadequate.

My family and I went there for something to eat and drink together today. The service was subpar, we had to wait 15-20 minutes until we got a card, not to mention how long it took to be able to order. We were told in a very unfriendly manner what we wanted now. After a certain time we got the old rolls from the morning, and there was no bread with the starter (€12.90) because it wasn't available. The drinks arrived, but not all of them. After further inquiries, the remaining drinks arrived. Since people continued to be unfriendly, I asked the lady if it couldn't be friendlier. I was told that she had been working there for 3 years. The food came and wasn't cooked through and wasn't tasty either. We were then allowed to clear the table of the starters ourselves so we could eat. At the end when the bill came our jaws dropped at the price. She then reacted impossibly by saying “how much would you like to pay, brother”. It's an absurdity and if I could I wouldn't even give you one star!

The casserole was very small and only had 2 potatoes, 3 pieces of broccoli, otherwise just cream. The fries were very salty. The quality of the food doesn't match the quality at all.

I visit there quite often. Always pleasant staff.

The service staff are very friendly, the place I always enjoy, the garden is beautiful in the summer.

Ancient interesting interior. They wanted to taste German pizza. Not bad, but it was dry. They brought a free aperitif of croutons with sauce - it was nice. Cocktails and ice cream are always great here!

Simple rolls, nothing special at brunch

Very nice even in summer when you want to sit outside. Comfortable chairs, all in the shade under large parasols. Very friendly service and delicious food. Absolutely recommended. Oh yes, there are now two large screens set up outside for the European Championships. When I look at some of the negative reviews here, I have to be very surprised. Either the people are extremely sensitive or perhaps sent by the competition. By the way, I have no connection to October in any way, other than I like the food and ambience there.

The ordered medium rare steak was just raw (see photo).

I had to help set up the reserved table for eleven people myself. The service has a lot of room for improvement. Three ladies found the cash register much more interesting than their guests. Orders were not implemented, we looked at our empty plates for a long time, there was no way to order drinks. Geez.

I'm pleasantly surprised. We were there again after a long time and I have to say it was simply great. Food and service simply great. Thank you very much, we will definitely come back more often now.

The cocktails contain little alcohol, but for a lot of money

Very nice and pleasant, reserved service. We really enjoyed the food. The prices for Hamburg were more than okay. The ambience... just makes you feel good!!!

We wanted to have brunch/breakfast today on Whit Monday and were looking in Harburg. That's when we noticed the offer in October. The buffet looked inviting, at €18.90 a little too expensive for the "selection". Unfortunately there were no signs saying what was available and no information for allergy sufferers. And when we asked about milk alternatives (lactose-free ones), the owner politely and kindly pointed out that it wouldn't make any sense. Well, with more and more people suffering from allergies and lactose intolerances, it is a simple service that is unfortunately not being met. Conclusion: So it's better not to have breakfast here...

The three of us had brunch on Mother's Day in October. Food: very old-fashioned on silver plates served with lettuce leaves. The dishes are not labeled. There was very little choice for a brunch that cost €18.90 per person. costs. Soup, rice, croquettes, potato gratain, etc. are offered as warm dishes, nothing that I know from other brunch buffets. There are only 2 types of rolls to choose from and a croissant, no bread. There are also only 2 types of muesli and 4 yoghurts or puddings, which was partly indefinable as there was nothing signposted. I would also have liked champagne with brunch. Given the price, you have to mention that no juices are included. There is only filter coffee and tea, which is also very untypical for a brunch or breakfast buffet. Service: clearly only run by trainees who don't act confidently. After, probably the boss, came and announced to everyone in the dining room that it wasn't that stressful, no wonder. I worked in the hotel and catering industry for 10 years and I can tell you that staff is harder to find than guests. The trainees only become what you make of them. Despite great uncertainty regarding the placement, the waiters were all very polite and tried very hard. Unfortunately, how the whole thing would work was only explained when we asked. In the explanation we were told that we could also order coffee specialties and juices, but these would cost extra! was not communicated to us. I only saw the cost of almost €80.00 for 3 people with so little choice (rather poor breakfast buffet in the low budget range) on the bill and asked the waiter about it. Here, too, there was great uncertainty on his part. He just told me that he had explained it to us. In my opinion, 3 people will not have misunderstood it, he expressed himself unhappily there. The ambience is of course rather rustic, but that's a matter of taste. For Mother's Day, I would perhaps have liked a few flowers in the restaurant and also someone to stand at the door and say, good morning, happy Mother's Day, or something similar so that you can feel good right from the start. All in all, it was really very disappointing and I will never go there for brunch again. Instead of pancakes, pancakes would be desirable. Instead of potato gratain, rice, etc. sausages, baked beans, waffles, scrambled eggs to take yourself. When it comes to bread rolls, I would like to have more choice and also different types of bread with a toaster. Chocolate croissants would also be great. Jam, Nutella, butter etc. are only available packaged, which is not that nice from a sustainable perspective. Placemats or something similar would also make the completely empty tables more visual. In addition, every brunch includes at least orange and apple juice. Coffee specialties should also be included. There's even a sign on every table that says coffee included, but not that it's just filter coffee. I think you can really get a lot out of it, which is a shame!

Unfortunately we didn't enjoy the brunch at all. Too little selection. No fruit. Two types of rolls. No bread. Croquettes for breakfast? No labeling of the food. Waiter says juices are included, but in the end we had to pay. So we don't come for breakfast anymore.

Always happy to be completely relaxed

In short: As a driver of an electric vehicle, I am of course happy when I find a charging station right in front of the door. However, if that remains the most positive aspect of a visit to a restaurant, then I could easily have forgone this joy in favor of other aspects. The car tastes just as good when it comes to electricity at home. And that brings us to the problem. The buffet was simply nothing. There was exactly one kind of roll, like a white roll; no bread, no toast, a fairly manageable number of cold cuts and cheese, but also in one or two types. And there were also things like croissants. Plates, on the other hand, were quite rare. We had to wait". We have it too. Plus the plastic battle of butter, Nutella, honey, etc., as we know it from airplanes, but nothing that is worth highlighting - and nothing with ingredients or signs that it is also lactose-free, vegan or vegetarian (or not). The selection of free drinks was limited to filter coffee. No tea, no juices, nothing (!) that could have been offered to children. Oh yes, there was also a cereal dispenser. But as I said: There was no milk and when I asked the staff the answer was: They had never heard that question before. In general, the staff had heard little. And little time. We were told that one strength was too little. Aha. So, at least: milk with muesli. Then we got some. After we had essentially finished the first course of breakfast, at some point a staff member came to explain to us "the principle of brunch". You can still order scrambled or fried eggs, but you just have to order them. Bacon costs extra. Drinks for children too. We didn't ask for tea, nor for whiskey - although at that point I would definitely have felt like having a bottle or two of Johnny to at least take a little shine out of the misery. The second round of rolls fell through due to a lack of rolls. There were no rolls for a long time and at some point the day goes on. The lunch portion of the “brunch” essentially consisted of pasta with red tomato something and a potato gratin. Both are available in the frozen section of popular discounters in a tasty version - it's a shame. There would also have been a few antipasti; However, I decided not to try it. At least: the car was loaded at the end. - Well, me too, but in a slightly different sense. Really, REALLY not a recommendation.

The food tasted good but came differently, the first one was ready and then the last meal arrived. Pizza was no longer made. Staff like on the first day.

Has slowed down a lot... the breakfast is a shock... you wait an average of 25-30 minutes for a coffee... the service is on its own... but polite.

The brunch on Sunday is awesome. We like going there.

Always worth a visit. This time, however, the toilets were flooded (contaminated water) and the staff were probably a bit overwhelmed by the situation. Maybe talk to the neighboring houses and help each other in emergency situations? Somehow orders also took a while to arrive. I hope that the toilet problem has now been solved and that there is a somewhat more relaxed atmosphere again, as I actually know it from October.

Tasty food available for takeaway. Nice music and nice atmosphere. I recommend!

Quaint restaurant with delicious food and very nice staff

Service very friendly and helpful. Feel-good atmosphere. The food was very good, but unfortunately the scrambled eggs were no longer warm. But I would happily go back.

Sunday brunch ============== No other drinks apart from coffee are included in the offer price. The food quality is okay. The ambience is nice. The service is so-so. The selection of dishes, sausage and cheese, etc. could be more varied. Apparently the restaurant staff doesn't know that salmon also includes orange mustard or at least horseradish. The roast beef was missing the tartar sauce. These spreads are mandatory! Scrambled eggs and bacon must be ordered separately. I don't understand why these aren't kept in the food warmer. This is inconvenient and leads to unnecessary waiting times. The bacon delivered was limp and had no roasted aroma. You might think this was warmed up in the microwave. We let him go back and asked for revision. The bacon was now warmer again, but not better. The young operating staff is nice and helpful, but is inattentive, inexperienced and seems awkward, disorganized and overwhelmed. He carries the dishes away with his hands instead of using a tray and prefers to walk more often. Food is ordered and refilled in the kitchen too late. Or cutlery is only refilled upon request. Or drinks are forgotten. Overall conclusion: The store has clear potential for improvement.

Solid food in a good atmosphere.

We were there for Sunday brunch. I don't like to write something unpleasant but unfortunately I have to do it here. We were there quite early so we also got something. The quality wasn't great but our service was very nice. Unfortunately the staff was totally overwhelmed with the refilling of the food. All kinds of rolls were missing for a very long time, there was no bread at all. When there were rolls there was a lack of cold cuts and everything, for a very long time there were only lettuce leaves on the serving plates😌. The birthday guests who came after us did the same for me Really very sorry and all this for 18 euros so I'd rather go somewhere else. Sorry, the place is very nice you could really do something with it.

Everything went well. Ambience very nice. Service very friendly and helpful. The only downside to the food for only 4 stars was that the scrambled eggs were unfortunately only lukewarm. It could happen because the cafe was very full. I would still like to give it a total of 5 stars and would be happy to come back.

Essen kam leider nur lauwarm an. Der Servicekraft wurde dies mitgeteilt, aber passiert ist nichts. Weder eine neue heiße Pizza noch eine Preisminderung. Selbst das bestellte Getränk wurde vergessen und erst sehr viel später gebracht. Wenigstens hier gab es ein "sorry". Auch das bestellte Bauernfrühstück war nicht ganz in Ordnung. Wir finden sicherlich alternative Restaurants wo es besser ist.

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant mit einer reichhaltigen und zufriedenstellenden Auswahl an Essen, so gibt es hier von deutscher Hausmannskost über Steaks und Pizzen einen guten Angebotsmix, worunter aber nicht die Qualität leided. Alle waren sehr zufrieden und es hat uns gut geschmeckt, ich persönlich habe das Cordon Bleu mit der Pfeffersauce bestellt, lecker! Am Besten mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln anreisen, das Restaurant ist in Hamburg-Harburg sehr zentral am Rathaus gelegen und Parkmöglichkeiten per per Pkw nicht günstig.

Es war nicht sehr gemütlich, langes Warten bis die Bedienung kam. Essen war nicht der Hit Kartoffeln und Spinat, Käse überbacken. Spinat musste ich suchen, die Kartoffeln nicht. So schnell komme ich nicht wieder.

Essen gut, Service freundlich, könnte aber umsichtiger sein, Musik eine Katastrophe zwischen spanisch, italienischen Schnulzen und Charts, zudem ziemlich laut.

Essen war sehr lecker, Bedienungen äußerst freundlich, Toiletten sauber. Preislich habe ich hier schon günstiger gegessen, aber die guten, alten Zeiten sind leider vorbei. :-( Trotzdem absolut empfehlenswert, wenn man in Harburg ist und gut essen möchte. :-)

Alles in allem ein sehr nettes Restaurant. Die Umgebung, der Service und das Essen ist sehr lecker.

Wir kamm hier in Oktober und habe mein Geburtstag gefeiert also das war sehr gut kann nur weiter empfehlen und Service sehr freundlich

Rette mich vor Hunger und Durst nach 70 km Fahrrad. Höflich korrekt. Auch sonst mal gut für nen Klön zum Café.

Mobiliar ziemlich runter gerockt, Frühstück ist okay, nichts besonderes, Bedienung war sehr bemüht und nett.

Waren zu zweit zum Brunchen da. Brauchten nicht reservieren und haben gut Platz gefunden. Der Service ist gut und freundlich, hat sich aber, obwohl es nicht voll war, nicht ausreichend um das Nachlegen von Tellern und Besteck gekümmert. Die angebotenen Speisen waren so lala. Die Antipasti und der Wurst- und Käseaufschnitt war gut. Es gab aber weder Roastbeef noch Lachs, wie eigentlich angeboten. An Eierspeisen gab es nur gekochtes Ei. Die Brötchen waren gut. Die warmen Speisen waren geht so. Etwas lasch gewürzt und zum Teil alle. Die Suppe war dünn und etwas undefinierbar - habe sie gar nicht erst probiert. Mein Fazit: Für knapp 20€ ohne Getränke stimmte das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis für mich nicht.

Wenn ihr 2 Std lang ohne bedienung sitzen wollt mit 6 leeren Gläsern auf dem Tisch, seid ihr hier richtig

Das Frühstück ist durchschnittlich. Das Ambiente, hmm. Schöne Figuren, leider ohne Kopf oder Hände etc. Schönes draußen sitzen ist möglich! Die Musik wiederholt sich, war schon mal besser.

Freundliche Mitarbeiter, und das Essen was wir bestellt hatten war lecker.

Leider ist die Speisekarte nicht grade toll. Aber Pommes mit Currywurst war Lecker.

Leider wird man hier nicht gut bedient. Sitzen schon ewig und müssen die Servicekräfte rufen. Essen wurde aufgenommen. Jetzt wird nicht einmal mehr gefragt ob wir noch etwas trinken möchten. Der Laden hier ist so gut wie leer. Schade, wir kommen nicht wieder.

Das Ambiente war sehr schön ich saß draußen leider mußte ich feststellen das die Klos dreckig waren und die Bedienung kopflos haben viel vergessen und Mann würde leider kaum beachtet ...

Nicht sehr gemütlich draußen, kam mir ein bisschen ungepflegt vor. Es war auch nichts los, zwei Personen im Biergarten.

Freundliche Bedienung Ruhiger Platz

Unser Essen war nicht gut. Wir hatten Pizza und sie war wie eine TK Pizza. Mein Schnitzel war zäh.

Will come again. I enjoyed a burger and fries here, midday. Good food, good price, good service (a bit slow because there was only one server doing everything, but she was great).

Sehr einladend um gemütlich einen Cocktail zu trinken und was zu essen. Schade, wie auch erschreckend fanden wir, dass die Bedingung leider der deutschen Sprache nicht mächtig war. Deshalb kamen die Getränke anders als bestellt. Ihre freundliche Kollegin hat dann die Bestellung nochmal entgegen genommen und uns die richtigen Getränke gebracht. Es wäre natürlich schön, wenn man Servicepersonal einstellt, welches auch deutsch spricht/ versteht.

Bedienung und Service waren sehr gut. Angenehme latein amerikanische Musik. Essen war gut. Preis Leistung stimmt.

Very nice place for a lunch in the working class area of Hamburg.

An zwei aufeinander folgenden Abenden mit 13 bzw. 14 Personen da gewesen, einmal zum Essen mit, einmal ohne(!) Reservierung am vollen Samstagabend. Toller Service, der das möglich gemacht hat. Schnelle, freundliche Bedienung, leider namenlos, daher Danke an Bedienung 8 - XH (so stehts auf dem Bon;-).

Was war das denn...? Ungelogen - ich habe noch nie eine so schlechte Pizza (Salami - und das ist nun wirklich nicht anspruchsvoll) serviert bekommen. Der Boden - blass, fade, geschmacklos und kein bisschen knusprig. Der Belag - 5 (fünf) Scheiben Salami. Käse - laut Speisekarte mit Edamer (??). Der Wunsch nach Mozzarella führte doch tatsächlich zu Diskussionen. Das ganze dann auch noch ertränkt in Olivenöl - warum auch immer. Meine Frau hatte "Spaghetti Gamberetti" mit Pesto, Tomaten und Gambas. Hier gab es fade Nudeln, offensichtlich mit Gemüsebrühe abgeschmeckt und keine Spur einer Pesto garniert mit vier kleine Tomaten und einigen Gambas.

Selten so ein hartes steak gegessen, das war wohl vorgebraten und neu aufgesetzt, noch nie so schlechtes hartes Fleisch gegessen, die Bratkartoffeln waren halbe gr. Kartoffel leicht a geschmort, nichtgebraten. Nach der Pandemie grosse enttäuschung das für45 €. Da war ich das letzte Mal. Habe mich beschwert.

Ich habe meinen Freund besucht und bin abends angekommen und habe Hunger mit gebracht, und spontan ist im diesem Lokal eingefallen Das Lokal ist sehr schön eingerichtet. Viele Instrumente hängen an der Wand. Sehr nettes und aufmerksames Personal, und das Essen schmeckt auch sehr gut.

Wir haben nun mal das Oktober ausprobiert. Die Pizza war sehr lecker und wirklich frisch zubereitet. Sonderwünsche kein Problem. Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam, dabei aber nicht aufdringlich. Preis/Leistung absolut in Ordnung. Die Einrichtung und Atmosphäre ist auch sehr angenehm, nur die Musik könnte etwas leiser sein. Wir kommen gern wieder.

kann nur sagen, hier kann man in ruhe gut speisen,,,, die bedienung aufmerksam und sehr freundlich, das gezapfte oktober bier kam zügig, danach die kleine vorspeise brötchen mit aioli, dann der gute burger mit krossigen wedges,,,,,,,,,die musik ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, naja jeder hat halt so seinen geschmack... alles in allem, gern jederzeit mal wieder, laut karte noch ne gute auswahl, von frühstück bis abendessen
