The food was excellent and the overall atmosphere very pleasant. Unfortunately, our evening was significantly marred by the behavior of a dark-haired man at the bar. He was extremely disrespectful and intrusive toward my wife. We weren't expecting such inappropriate behavior in a restaurant of this caliber. It's a shame, because otherwise the visit was truly enjoyable. * Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We were seated at a table for two directly opposite the bar, and there were two stools right next to us at the counter. The incident occurred when my wife was briefly alone at the bar. I visited for the first time today, and I have to say... I'm really exhausted. The saying "the eyes were bigger than the stomach" hits the nail on the head here. Considering the relatively small number of items to order, you're still overestimating the quantity. As some have already described, the stay is limited to 2 hours. The ordering interval is 15 minutes, and the maximum is 8 orders per visit. Getting used to it for the first time is relatively easy, but the only drawback is that you can't see what you've ordered and whether everything you ordered arrived. All in all, it was a really great visit, and it was truly delicious. Our questions and suggestions for the staff were promptly addressed. The bottom line is, I/we will probably come back again. 🤤

We visited the restaurant with a voucher and weren't familiar with the concept beforehand. Overall, the restaurant was very busy during our visit, which created a loud and hectic atmosphere. The ordering system allows you to order up to 8 rounds of 5 dishes each within two hours – a new dish every 15 minutes. At first, this was quite stressful for us because you feel like you have to "get through" as many rounds as possible. A little tip: More than 5 rounds are hardly feasible for regular eaters – so take your time. A major criticism for us was the complete lack of clarity in the process: By the second round at the latest, you no longer knew what you had actually ordered. The dishes were completely mixed up, sometimes with a significant delay, so we couldn't even say for sure whether we even got everything we had clicked on. Unfortunately, it was very chaotic and completely incomprehensible for us as guests. In addition, the entire order is placed via mobile phone – which means that at least one person is constantly on their smartphone. We find this rather unsuitable for a shared meal. The quality of the food was mixed. Some dishes were quite tasty, but many were rather bland or barely seasoned. The beef was particularly disappointing – tough as a shoe sole. Prices wise, the restaurant is in the higher range: we paid just under €80 for two people, including only soft drinks. For that price, we would have expected significantly better quality and organization. If you generally like the concept, you can certainly spend an evening here. Unfortunately, it wasn't for us – we wouldn't go back again.

Unfortunately, today's visit to Okinii Düsseldorf Medienhafen was very disappointing. Of the orders placed (two people, four full rounds ordered + one small round), a maximum of 50% arrived, and some were even incorrect. After 1.5 hours of waiting, about a third of the orders were at the table. Only after asking did we receive more than two items at once. As an apology, we were offered an espresso or a scoop of ice cream, which we declined. Unfortunately, the system didn't work at all today (the couple at the next table was also visibly disappointed/annoyed), and in this state, it's not worth a repeat visit.

Fundamentally, it's not a bad restaurant, but the many inconveniences completely ruined the atmosphere. Compared to other all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants, the portion sizes are very small. The possible order rounds are limited to eight instead of the usual 10. Additionally, a timer is running from the beginning, as you only have two hours to order. This creates a sense of hecticness and pressure, which is very unsuitable for a comfortable experience. Many restaurants also operate with this two-hour limit, but it's never a big problem to order something beyond that. The ordering concept described by Okinii as "unique and innovative" is, in my opinion, completely counterproductive and actually encourages everyone's own mobile phone usage, as you have to use your phone for every order, whether for drinks or food. The whole thing isn't intuitive or clearly laid out; it's actually misleading. What I can't overlook, however, is that not only do you have two hours to order, but after those two hours, you're practically kicked out because someone wants to rebook your table. After just an hour and a half, we were told we could order dessert. This continued every five to ten minutes. The feeling of a nice, relaxed evening was completely ruined. Economic thinking aside, but conveying this behavior in this way is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! You can clearly see that this is all about maximizing profits, and at the expense of the guest. This was our first and last visit to this chain.

The staff at Okiini is truly outstanding – super friendly, service-oriented, and always striving to ensure guests have a pleasant evening. The ambiance is also stylish and upscale, which creates a promising first impression. I was less impressed, however, with the ordering concept: Using a QR code on your phone, you select up to 25 small dishes in 8 rounds (5 per person). While it is possible to order fewer than 5 dishes per person, the round is still counted as consumed and deducted from the total of 8. This makes ordering unnecessarily complicated and leads to a time-pressured situation where you select – and eat – as much as possible in a short space of time. On the positive side, I would like to highlight the restaurant's emphasis on sustainability: What is ordered must be eaten – otherwise, any leftovers are charged extra. I think this is absolutely the right approach to avoid food waste and is worth supporting. Unfortunately, I still had the feeling that not all of the ordered dishes were actually delivered. Many of the fried dishes were also cold or had a strange texture. The salmon sashimi, which cost an extra €2, was excellent, however. At €29.95 per person, the whole thing isn't exactly a bargain. After the meal, I felt more stressed than satisfied – the rigid two-hour time slot is simply too short for a relaxed dinner. As sorry as I am for the wonderful staff, Okiini didn't impress me with its food, and I probably won't be coming back.

The tuna sashimi was inedible, and the sushi was tasteless and tough. Since we only paid €20 for the special, we could overlook it, but it wouldn't have been worth €35. It's a shame; the restaurant has lost some of its quality.

We don't see any reason to come back. The time of good quality seems to be finally over. Once again we had poor quality fish. Salmon and tuna for sashimi and sushi were full of tendons, so hard and thick that you had to chew them like gum for a while and eventually spit them out. No serious sushi chef should ever put something like this on a plate. We have been coming to Okinii Medienhafen again and again for 6 years because of the impeccable quality and have now noticed once again that the quality of almost all dishes has rapidly deteriorated and some dishes have even become inedible. We also discussed everything personally on our last visit, whereupon the service manager was called. We described everything in a very friendly and factual manner, whereupon the service manager explained to us twice and once again when paying at the end that we were the only guests who would complain. It is absolutely inappropriate to treat guests like this when they raise specific problems in a friendly tone. And giving them the feeling at the table that you're just imagining it. We were there on May 2nd, 2025 and had reserved for 8:30 p.m. We sat at the table for four in the corner to the left of the door and that was our last visit.

We always enjoy coming here to eat and are thrilled every time! We are particularly impressed by the great team of waiters - every single one of them is incredibly warm, attentive and creates a wonderful atmosphere. Bad experiences? None! Unfortunately it's no longer what it once was. We have eaten here many times and it has always been a highlight for us. We come from the days when there were 2 lamb chops per order and the sake outside roll had a good slice of salmon on top. It's getting more and more expensive, unfortunately the food is getting smaller and much more economical. Even if you're full at the end, the experience is completely different. I think 35€ of food per person is far too much for today's quality. I think something around €25-26 is justified. With the previous quality, it would probably cost €35, but unfortunately we are far away from that. The lamb chops that I love to eat here were the smallest I've ever seen them before and really rock hard. Probably yesterday's goods? I only know this toughness from grilled food that has been in the fridge for 2 days and has been warmed up again in between. I would estimate our number of visits at 20-30 times and unfortunately it won't be more than that for now. Unfortunately, there are now better alternatives for this high price. Staff is very nice, quick and modern. There's nothing wrong with that. Food sometimes comes quickly, sometimes very slowly. Today it was quick.

Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. I went because of the good reviews. It started with cold, limp sweet potato fries. We addressed that, then better ones came along. The sushi is not good quality. Just the rice. And the fish on it tasted like it wasn't fresh. I don't usually rate restaurants but this time I have to write something about them. The staff made an effort to make our food nice. Things that I ordered again and again didn't come. Only when I brought it up. Conclusion price-performance ratio is not good. My ice cream that was supposed to be brought to me at the end didn't come. After 15 minutes we left without it.

I strongly advise against going to this place! On Lieferando it's called Góc việt Asia Thai loc phat. After 1.5 hours our food didn't arrive and when we called we were told the food was on its way. We called again after 2 hours. The food was supposedly still on its way. After almost 2.5 hours it finally arrived. We were very hungry when we went in because we were hungry, but later regretted it. The food arrived limp and incredibly tasteless. After we added more seasoning we were able to eat a little so that our hunger was at least somewhat satisfied. Worst experience ordering from anywhere in years.

The food was excellent – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and relaxed, with a cozy interior. I ate there and was overall very satisfied. Highly recommended – I'd love to come back!

On a cold, rainy day, this place appeared in front of us out of nowhere, and as an oasis to warm out shivering souls. We barged into it without any reservation and got treated to probably the best Thai food on the continent. Cooked steaming fresh, and to Thai flavorful perfection, it is a place that should not be missed. The tastes lingers on ones tongue even days after the experience. A high praise, given that it comes from someone who has tasted the cuisine in the Thai land probably a dozen times.
