Very large selection despite the lunch menu. There was everything we wanted to try, and the food was delicious. The homemade lemonades are also highly recommended. Dessert was a bit limited, as they were out of the items we wanted, but that can happen sometimes.

The staff at Okiini is truly outstanding – super friendly, service-oriented, and always striving to ensure guests have a pleasant evening. The ambiance is also stylish and upscale, which creates a promising first impression. I was less impressed, however, with the ordering concept: Using a QR code on your phone, you select up to 25 small dishes in 8 rounds (5 per person). While it is possible to order fewer than 5 dishes per person, the round is still counted as consumed and deducted from the total of 8. This makes ordering unnecessarily complicated and leads to a time-pressured situation where you select – and eat – as much as possible in a short space of time. On the positive side, I would like to highlight the restaurant's emphasis on sustainability: What is ordered must be eaten – otherwise, any leftovers are charged extra. I think this is absolutely the right approach to avoid food waste and is worth supporting. Unfortunately, I still had the feeling that not all of the ordered dishes were actually delivered. Many of the fried dishes were also cold or had a strange texture. The salmon sashimi, which cost an extra €2, was excellent, however. At €29.95 per person, the whole thing isn't exactly a bargain. After the meal, I felt more stressed than satisfied – the rigid two-hour time slot is simply too short for a relaxed dinner. As sorry as I am for the wonderful staff, Okiini didn't impress me with its food, and I probably won't be coming back.

I would like to express my special appreciation to Lea. Her warm personality, incredible expertise, and attentive service made my visit a thoroughly pleasant experience. Lea knows how to respond to individual requests, provide competent advice, and always remain friendly, professional, and courteous. You immediately notice that she is passionate and genuinely interested in her work. You would want an employee like her everywhere – attentive, charming, and absolutely reliable. Keep it up 🤙

The restaurant made a good impression at first glance, but unfortunately, the food was anything but convincing. The flavor was bland, lacking in freshness, and unfortunately, the presentation wasn't particularly appetizing. It's a shame, we had hoped for more. The next day, we felt unwell, had stomach problems. And so on...

We went there spontaneously today, and as always, it was absolutely delicious. Our server, Finn, was incredibly kind and super accommodating. We'd love to come back here again.

We had excellent, top-notch service yesterday. As soon as we forgot to bring food, a member of staff immediately attended to our needs. The Aperol was delicious. The food, however, was poor. The tuna sashimi was inedible, and the sushi was tasteless and tough. Since we only paid €20 for the special, we could overlook it, but it wouldn't have been worth €35. It's a shame; the restaurant has lost some of its quality.

The selection of food is impressive, from fresh sushi to warm delicacies, there is something for every taste. Particularly noteworthy is the cool and attentive service, which makes the stay even more pleasant. Whether young or old, everyone feels at home here. An absolute top restaurant for moments of enjoyment with friends, family or colleagues. We always enjoy coming here!

We were there today and all in all it was a nice evening. The food was okay, the ambience was very nice, the concept was also okay, but the nice service definitely sweetened the evening. Esad (hope I remember it correctly) was our waiter and he was very attentive and friendly. It was refreshing to experience such nice and friendly service again. We'll definitely come back!

We don't see any reason to come back. The time of good quality seems to be finally over. Once again we had poor quality fish. Salmon and tuna for sashimi and sushi were full of tendons, so hard and thick that you had to chew them like gum for a while and eventually spit them out. No serious sushi chef should ever put something like this on a plate. We have been coming to Okinii Medienhafen again and again for 6 years because of the impeccable quality and have now noticed once again that the quality of almost all dishes has rapidly deteriorated and some dishes have even become inedible. We also discussed everything personally on our last visit, whereupon the service manager was called. We described everything in a very friendly and factual manner, whereupon the service manager explained to us twice and once again when paying at the end that we were the only guests who would complain. It is absolutely inappropriate to treat guests like this when they raise specific problems in a friendly tone. And giving them the feeling at the table that you're just imagining it. We were there on May 2nd, 2025 and had reserved for 8:30 p.m. We sat at the table for four in the corner to the left of the door and that was our last visit.

Unfortunately the visit ended with food poisoning and a night on the toilet for 2 out of 3 people. When I asked the restaurant, there was no response for the ruined next day.

We always enjoy coming here to eat and are thrilled every time! We are particularly impressed by the great team of waiters - every single one of them is incredibly warm, attentive and creates a wonderful atmosphere. Bad experiences? None! Quite the opposite: They are always friendly, humorous and have a special instinct for dealing with children lovingly. A very special compliment goes to Raul – he makes every visit a real highlight! 👍🏻

Unfortunately it's no longer what it once was. We have eaten here many times and it has always been a highlight for us. We come from the days when there were 2 lamb chops per order and the sake outside roll had a good slice of salmon on top. It's getting more and more expensive, unfortunately the food is getting smaller and much more economical. Even if you're full at the end, the experience is completely different. I think 35€ of food per person is far too much for today's quality. I think something around €25-26 is justified. With the previous quality, it would probably cost €35, but unfortunately we are far away from that. The lamb chops that I love to eat here were the smallest I've ever seen them before and really rock hard. Probably yesterday's goods? I only know this toughness from grilled food that has been in the fridge for 2 days and has been warmed up again in between. I would estimate our number of visits at 20-30 times and unfortunately it won't be more than that for now. Unfortunately, there are now better alternatives for this high price. Staff is very nice, quick and modern. There's nothing wrong with that. Food sometimes comes quickly, sometimes very slowly. Today it was quick.

Food and service used to be better. Sushi was ok, but seaweed salad, duck and fried bananas were inedible 😕. We're not going there anymore.

Great evening, delicious food, although the special prawns that evening were already quite burnt and therefore lost some of their taste. Unfortunately the lamb was too thin and therefore very dry. shout out to our waiter Raul! Always a pleasure to work with him, very attentive and always with a smile on his face, many more of these waiters please!

Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. I went because of the good reviews. It started with cold, limp sweet potato fries. We addressed that, then better ones came along. The sushi is not good quality. Just the rice. And the fish on it tasted like it wasn't fresh. I don't usually rate restaurants but this time I have to write something about them. The staff made an effort to make our food nice. Things that I ordered again and again didn't come. Only when I brought it up. Conclusion price-performance ratio is not good. My ice cream that was supposed to be brought to me at the end didn't come. After 15 minutes we left without it.

Unverschämtheit! Ein so reduziertes Lunch! Keine Ente, kein Rind, keine Garnelen, kein Dessert! Nicht nochmal, kann man sich sparen!!!

All you can eat, where everything is freshly prepared according to your orders and brought to your table for around €35 ​​per person. Drinks and special menus cost extra. Sounds good until you realize that it's already been 30 minutes before the starter was even at the table. Some of the food was cold or too salty or soggy. It also took a very long time for us to get the first portions. Be careful, the portions are small!!! If you order teriyaki chicken twice, for example, it comes in a small plate. Sushi was good, I have nothing to complain about, kimchi fermented too long, chicken teriyaki too salty. It was a change, but we wouldn't eat there again.

We really enjoy coming here. We now have our favorite waiter Raul here who is always very friendly and funny. The whole atmosphere is just right.

We visited this Chinese restaurant at the weekend - curious about the unusual concept. The ambience is modern and stylish, and at first glance the restaurant makes a good impression. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn't convince us. The concept: You pay €35 per person (drinks not included) and are then allowed to eat as much as you want within 2 hours. An interesting idea in itself, but rather disappointing in its implementation. The portions are very small – often just two spoons – and you can order up to 25 dishes per round. However, these are served very slowly and little by little, which means you quickly lose track of what has already been brought and what is still missing. Similar dishes such as sushi are also served together on the same plate, which further complicates classification. What also bothered us: When serving, there were small pieces of paper with the printed order numbers in many of the bowls. The waiters removed these before serving, but the pieces of paper were previously lying directly in the bowl - i.e. in contact with the food. Since this is thermal printing paper with printing ink, this is at least questionable from a health perspective. The waiting times were long and we even had to ask the staff to finally bring all the food we ordered. The drinks came quickly, but the food left you feeling rather forgotten. In terms of taste, the food was okay, but no better than in any good Chinese restaurant - just significantly more expensive. The design of the restaurant is nice, but it lacks coziness - perhaps because of the many tables or an inharmonious room concept. Our conclusion: • Food: 3/5 – taste okay • Ambience: 4/5 – nice, but not cozy • Service & concept: 2/5 – lengthy, confusing and sometimes unhygienic Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be coming back.

Today the 7 of us ate at Okinii in the Media Harbor. We were served very, very well by Raul and Singa! Everyone was very friendly and we never had to wait long for our food!

We had some new experiences today during our Easter trip in the Japanese restaurant "Okinii" in Düsseldorf's Medienhafen. First of all: No matter which dishes we chose, they were all delicious. In this respect, as first-time guests to the city of Düsseldorf, we can consider ourselves lucky to have chosen this restaurant by chance and warmly recommend it to you, the reader of our review, with a friendly recommendation. What was surprising to us was that we didn't have to pay for food for our five-year-old daughter and only half for our nine-year-old son. The next new experience was that we had to order the numerous dishes offered in small portions via our smartphone in up to eight rounds of fifteen pieces each. After just the third round of ordering, we were full and finished our dinner, even though we could have ordered another five rounds. The key advantage of the small portions was being able to try many of the many Japanese and Asian dishes on offer. There is certainly something for every taste: sushi, fish, beef, lamb, chicken, soup, salad, vegetarian and vegan food. You don't have to miss out on sweet desserts either. We enjoyed the various homemade lemonades and wine connoisseurs will definitely find something to suit their palate. All in all, it was a very positive “experience gastronomy” for us, to which the very friendly service and warm support from our waiter Raul and the diligently helpful and friendly colleagues also contributed significantly. Our heartfelt thanks go to all of you and our colleagues in the kitchen. We are happy to recommend your “Okinii” without reservation. Always stay well and healthy and enjoy your work. Great - I really enjoy being here. The sushi itself is absolutely fine. If you're just looking for pure sushi, you'll of course find better fish/sushi for a little more money. Unfortunately Okinii has slowed down a lot, we were here during the week. Unfortunately, after 40 minutes we still didn't have a full round of the order on the table. We hadn't seen any sushi until then. It's a shame, I enjoyed coming here.

The meal ended with a thirst because after ordering twice nothing came. An hour after the visit, I had severe stomach pain and my daughter had diarrhea. That was it then. Never again Okinii.

We were at Okini on Saturday evening, and if the food had come as ordered in the rounds, it would have received a full rating. It's getting one star less because at least one order was missing in every round. The food itself was very tasty, though the fried items could have been a bit warmer, in my opinion. The service was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was very cozy.

The Okini in Düsseldorf is always a great address for us. The selection of Asian tapas is diverse and creative, so everyone will find what they are looking for. We are always particularly impressed by the freshly prepared sushi variations and warm dishes. Of course, there may be minor delays in the kitchen every now and then, but that doesn't detract from our overall experience. A special highlight for us is Raul’s service. His warm and authentic manner ensures that we always feel welcome. Thanks to him, the evening at Okini becomes a special experience. We always look forward to sitting in his area!

For €35 it's not worth it in my opinion. I had a meal here a few months ago and the best thing was the service, the waitress was Lea, very nice and polite. However, I wasn't impressed with the food and the music was way too loud.

Finn and the entire team were very competent and friendly. It's a bit noisy at peak times but it's always delicious and that's why I always enjoy going there.

Never had such a bad meal in an all you can eat. Almost everything was cold. Meat was tough and inedible. Fish had a weird taste. Duck was rock hard and impossible to chew. Sushi was fine, but not prepared and served with love at all. It was also very cold in the restaurant. In summary very bad and a waste of money!

Finn and Amani are top waiters/waitresses. As always, the food was very good.

Half of the food is forgotten and it arrives cold!! Even people who came later have the table full of food and we are still waiting .. all you get is an "I'm sorry" thank you, that was the first and last time .. trip to Cologne!!
