We were there with a large group. Two people were a little late, which was a bit inconvenient given the concept of ordering table by table. The food was OK, nothing special. What I don't like at all is that ordered items arrive at some point, sometimes two or three times later. This sometimes leads to a guest not having anything to eat for a while and then suddenly getting six dishes at once, or even to someone no longer knowing who ordered it. The wait staff place the bowls on the table without a word, and there are no inquiries as to whether everything is OK or if new drinks are required. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for groups.

Ate there on Saturday March 15th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. I'm amazed at how little you can do to impress most guests. The modern ordering concept is quite funny and the service did a good job, but the sushi is below average. The butterfish was excellent though. Poorly seasoned rice across the board, typical of Chinese sushi. The rice cooks into a mass (photo!) so that you can no longer see a grain of rice. Limited selection on the lunch menu, but you can upgrade to the evening menu. It's better to go straight to a real Japanese restaurant, because it works with the quality of the lunch menu and there are several of them around the corner in Düsseldorf. All in all, so-so. I won't try the evening menu either. Okinii is certainly an interesting alternative for rest stop fans. Of the Okinii branches, the one on Immermannstr. in Düsseldorf the worst. The worst thing is the prevailing hygiene standard. The toilets (toilet paper holder and toilet seat, see photos) are so dirty that you lose your appetite. The standard is said to be better in Essen and Cologne.

Unfortunately, the Okinii has declined significantly in recent years. There were several price increases, but the overall experience kept getting worse. It seems as if you can no longer implement your own restaurant concept properly. The food still tastes good, but the ordering system rarely works as planned. The dishes ordered are sometimes forgotten or only brought to the table after 40 minutes. A few hot dishes were already completely cold when they were brought to us. The main problem is with the sushi, for which you have to wait several rounds of orders. Unfortunately, the whole thing doesn't fit with the concept of being able to order every 15 minutes and having to pay for leftover food. If I can't rely on whether and when the dishes actually come to the table, I can't estimate how much I want to order for myself. The service tried to compensate for this, but unfortunately was sometimes overwhelmed. The problem is also described in other reviews and is probably also known to the Okinii. However, it has not been possible to change anything about this for several years. I think that's a real shame.

I've never written a review before, so I don't even know how to start. But I'll never go to Okiini again. I was there for lunch with a friend. There we were asked whether we wanted the large or small card. When I asked what the difference was, I was told "the larger one has more choice". That's it. That's what we chose, and of course we expected a little extra charge afterwards, it makes sense. In the end we were charged for the dinner menu. That's a difference of €12 per person! We didn't understand that and asked and the answer was along the lines of "they had a choice and took that" and then he just left. Since we didn't understand it yet, we asked another employee and she explained it to us. A little more explanation would be really helpful :) greeting

Unfortunately a disappointing experience. The food was nothing special, and the entire room had a strong, unpleasant toilet smell. This made the visit very unpleasant. I expected more from an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in Düsseldorf. Two stars because the service was OK, but I definitely won't be back.

I don’t know how you have to disrespect yourself to go to this place where the food is not fresh, even the avodako was black and rotten, unfortunately I didn’t take a photo of everything, but it’s just a nightmare, I don’t recommend anyone to spend 40 euros per person, it’s better to eat in another normal place, I just don’t recommend it!!!!

Went last year with a friend, which we enjoyed very much. Now with my daughter, which was a disappointment, especially for what you have to pay €82 for 2 people. I'd rather cook myself! The first round was very fast, we were really just sitting. You have to ask for the wasabi and ginger throughout the evening. I was disappointed with the taste. Rice was hard/outside and had little flavor. (As if it had been ready for a while) This also applies to all the other sushi that came. Including canned tuna. Some rounds we had to ask where the rest of the food was, too rushed and impersonal for me, so I wouldn't go back here a third time.

The food was good, we went to dinner, around 8:30 p.m. they told us that it is all you can eat and that you have two hours but what they don't tell you until you are eating is that the kitchen closes at 9:30 p.m., of the two hours we had for dinner we only had one... what's the problem in one hour you only have 3 chances to order the 5 dishes per round, with luck we managed 3 rounds since they were closing and the dishes took a long time to come out, we felt cheated

Ich kann mich den vorherigen Schreibern nur anschließen. Sehr enttäuschend!!!!! Viele viele bestellten Gerichte sind nicht gekommen, zum größten Teil kalt und trockener Sushi Reis, bleibt im Hals stecken. Auch wenn Leute im Restaurant sitzen, nicht beirren lassen, es gibt etliche bessere Sushi Restaurants in der Nähe!

Leider sehr enttäuschend!!!!! Viele bestellte Gerichte sind gar nicht erst gekommen, oder zum Teil schon kalt. Wir haben von insgesamt 50 bestellten Gerichten vielleicht 15 bekommen. Für den Preis schon fast unverschämt. Wir haben dann irgendwann angefangen, Gerichte drei oder vierfach zu bestellen in der Hoffnung, dass sie kommen aber vergebens gewartet. Hier klappt das Konzept leider nicht. Personal war aber sehr freundlich.

Unfortunately I can't recommend the place. The ambience is good for the size of the restaurant, the general range of food and drinks is also good and ordering via smartphone is a really good idea, we liked it. But unfortunately the sushi immediately fell apart when it was dipped in the soy sauce. Unfortunately, the AllYouCanEat can't do much in terms of appearance and taste. The ordered round 2 has not arrived after 30 minutes or only 2 parts. The cellar said that was normal. Out of desperation, we ordered a third round of which we shared 70% (7 out of 10). Overall we left €90 lighter but hungry and dissatisfied. It's a shame, because the first impression was really good - despite AYCE.

Incredibly bad. We arrived and received personal service from a friendly waiter. This was a pleasant welcome. With the 1st round of sushi it tasted tough, dry and overall not fresh. When we reported it to the runner, we were not looked at and it seemed as if he did not care. We thought we'd give the 2nd round of fried food another chance. 10 dishes were thrown on the table, without contact or any kind of friendly attitude. Literally everything was cold, dry or poorly cooked. The fried mushrooms were completely shriveled and fried dry. There was not a single dish that was edible. When we reported it, we initially received a 20% discount, but the manager didn't even have the courage to come to the table himself. Our appetite was completely gone and we only paid for drinks. Here too, the manager did not have the decency to speak to us and ask us to think about a solution. This tent is really bizarrely bad

The positive first: the service is attentive and friendly. Some of the food didn't taste good at all. The visit to Okinii should be a reward for good reports and the Ebi are always the highlight for our children. We then ordered as many as possible. Unfortunately, they were totally watery and we couldn't eat them at all. The spinach and seaweed salad were also inedible. Also not nice, the drinks only came after we had already eaten almost everything.

While strolling along Immermannstrasse, we spontaneously visited Okinii at lunchtime because a long line of hungry guests had already formed there. It's clear, because where else can you find a sushi buffet for well under €20? We were initially skeptical because of the comparatively low price, but we were proven wrong. As is now common practice, Okinii also orders via a tablet. Of course, the selection for the lunch buffet is limited during the week, but there is still something tasty for everyone. The plates ordered are delivered quickly, look great and are surprisingly of exceptionally good quality. Absolutely brilliant for the price of the Weekly Lunch! The Okinii itself offers plenty of space, even for a stroller. The decor is more reminiscent of a bar/lounge because it is quite dark. All in all a very good experience and definitely recommended for anyone who likes to try different foods at a low price.

I used to be an absolute Okinii fan, but I have the feeling that things are getting worse over the years and the restaurant is falling into disrepair... dishes being forgotten or brought to the table way too late is nothing new (although I wonder how that can happen with such a simple digital system). But today (I was there at lunchtime) the food wasn't good either. I'm a student with few demands, but even I didn't like it. The fried noodles were tasteless, just noodles and oil. The fried mushrooms also tasted like nothing except a bit of pepper and weren't cooked through. The sushi also tastes like it comes from the supermarket... very dry. Also the dessert (that was called croffles)... sorry, but €2.50 extra for such a mini portion? I think that was my last time in Okinii.

Very nice service, they give everything in the (in my eyes) utter chaos of all-you-can eat. The system ordering 8 orders of 5 “dishes” in 2 hours is funny, not always effective and not a hit in terms of quality (due to the masses?!) We managed 5 of the 8 rounds with a bang and then we were full and the variety was missing... Conclusion: a lot of food for reasonable money, ok quality

Leider war unser Besuch bei Okinii eine enttäuschende Erfahrung. Das Konzept, Essen über ein Tablet auszuwählen, funktioniert nicht wie erwartet. Von den bestellten Gerichten kam nur ein Teil an – mehr als 50% der Bestellung haben wir nie erhalten. Trotz mehrfacher Beschwerden und Nachfragen wurde unser Essen nicht vollständig geliefert. Die Qualität der Speisen ließ zu wünschen übrig und war weit entfernt von dem, was man für die hohen Preise erwarten würde. Die Rechnung war ebenfalls ein Ärgernis, da wir für die nicht gelieferten Gerichte diskutieren mussten und uns am Ende lediglich ein 20%iger Rabatt angeboten wurde. Insgesamt war es ein großer Reinfall, und wir können dieses Restaurant nicht empfehlen.

Unfortunately, our visit to Okinii was a disappointing experience. The concept of choosing food via a tablet doesn't work as expected. Only some of the dishes we ordered arrived - we never received more than 50% of the order. Despite multiple complaints and inquiries, our food was not fully delivered. The quality of the food left a lot to be desired and was far from what you would expect for the high prices. The bill was also a hassle as we had to argue for the dishes that were not delivered and in the end we were only offered a 20% discount. Overall it was a big letdown and we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Well, yes. I know this type of restaurant ("tablet ordering restaurant") from my hometown and was really excited about the experience in Düsseldorf... however, I was rather disappointed, both in comparison to the restaurant in my hometown and in general with the quality of it Eating here at Okinii. I didn't find the following things successful: 1) The menu can be accessed via QR code on your own cell phone. The version with the tablet (in the restaurant in my hometown) is much more convenient. Bigger screen, better overview, easier to read... 2) In comparison, there was significantly less choice of food at Okinii Düsseldorf. Little special, a lot not available. Not all of the food arrived. We had already ordered the dessert round when food from the preliminary rounds was still being brought out. 3) Lukewarm food that should actually be served hot. Unfortunately, this was no exception: lukewarm shrimp, mussels and, worst of all, ambient temperature sweet potato fries. And at a proud price. Incidentally, noisy atmosphere. At least the staff was polite. But it took a lot of time, especially when serving the drinks. I think another visit will not be on the agenda on my next trip to Düsseldorf.

Unfortunately, we weren't very satisfied with the taste at Okinii Düsseldorf. While the "All You Can Eat" sushi concept is a great idea, offering customers the opportunity to try every type of sushi, similar sushi restaurants offer a wider variety of sushi either at the same price or for a more affordable cost. Compared to other sushi restaurants we've visited, the sushi here felt a bit bland, and we couldn't quite get the same flavor we were expecting. On the plus side, the restaurant’s Asian-inspired design is visually pleasing, and the staff was very attentive and quick. The restaurant also takes advantage of modern technology, allowing you to see the available dishes on a tablet at your table and make your selection—this is a nice touch, though we still felt the variety was limited. It's a good place to visit with colleagues or family, but note that there is no parking available. I hope you enjoy your meal!

I have to say that I have been going to okinii for a long time and it used to be great! But when I was there today, I was just disappointed! First of all, the air in the room was much too strong and came down from the ceiling, directly above the tables. Then the food arrived either lukewarm or cold. The service didn't work at all either. Also not really child friendly. We don't need to talk about the price. I understand that everything has become more expensive. But I find all these things that cost an additional €2 just outrageous. We'd rather go to the competition in the future. Really a shame.

First of all, it's really cozy here! Unfortunately, we didn't get some of the food we ordered, even after asking the waitress three times. We also received food that we didn't order, but another table was probably missing it. Towards the end someone from management came and we got a discount. That was nice, but we would have preferred our full meal. I also don't understand why there isn't a list of pending orders in the web interface. With waiting times of 45 minutes+, you quickly lose track if you order every 15 minutes. Apparently the kitchen and waiters no longer have an overview either. I think that this shouldn't happen, especially with a well-known chain like Okinii. Update: We were here again at lunchtime. There is a smaller menu, but still enough selection and at a fair price. The restaurant was busy, but not that crowded. The sushi rolls were wrapped a little less lovingly than in the evening, which was wrapped in the evening, which didn't bother me. All of the above problems did not occur during the lunchtime visit, so I corrected from 3 to 4 stars.

I first saw the concept of placing orders via tablets at Okinii and it was very user-friendly. However, personal contact is somewhat lacking, especially a waiter doesn't really come by to ask if everything is going okay. What's particularly unfortunate is that the quality of the sushi, especially the fish, leaves a lot to be desired and tastes rather average. What should be positively highlighted is the large selection of different small dishes apart from sushi, which provides variety. Unfortunately, these are also rather average. The food is delivered quickly, which is definitely a plus (but it was also relatively empty when we were there). However, I think the prices are a bit too high in relation to the quality of the food (€35 per person for all you can eat, 2 hours).

We were really looking forward to the meal. Unfortunately the bowls were just slapped onto the table. Sometimes the rounds are mixed up. Some of the hot dishes were cold. The crowning glory was the frozen tuna on the skewer. Our zucchini didn't arrive at all. It's a shame and at a price of €71.

Really nice restaurant and lovely ambience. The process is well kept modern and everything is digitalized - great! All in all, it's really worth being here, but the waiters/service could laugh and smile more. Sometimes they seemed very stressed and hardly talked to anyone. Some people like it, others don't. Disappointing - Not recommended! My partner and I were looking forward to our visit to Okinii, but were unfortunately very disappointed. We had to wait far too long for our food and parts of our order simply weren't delivered at all. Even after asking the service several times, nothing changed - the dishes we requested simply didn't come or came very late. The quality of the food was also poor. The meat smelled unpleasant and looked old, which completely spoiled the appetite. The sushi was also bad: it fell apart and had no freshness or taste. We expected much more for the price. We definitely won't go here again and can't recommend the restaurant to anyone.

We were there on the first day after the holidays, so it was full. We had reserved, which of course goes without saying. However, we stood in the entrance for 15 minutes and waited for someone to serve us. Because there are fixed time slots, we had already lost the first 15 minutes. A lot of staff passed us by until someone finally came and took us to the table. There were 2 “cards” to choose from, the large and the small, which of course also differ in price. When asked what the difference was, the waiter quickly said: "Yes, with the large one you have more choice." There wasn't any more information, so we quickly decided on the big one. As a vegetarian, you're a bit lost in the store, but that may be bearable since you're going out for sushi. This also includes fish (vegetarian sushi available included cucumber and tamago and avocado). But the fact that the order took so long to get to our table, that the portions were so small and that you can only order 10 items for two people - I thought that was a shame. The rice was a bit tasteless, the toppings were great, the sauces too. But unfortunately there really isn't enough choice for such a price range. You simply HAVE to order the next round while you wait for the last one, otherwise you'll only manage 3 rounds plus dessert in 2 hours. And apart from the unagi and the tuna fillet, I couldn't find any justification for the "big menu" (if that was even part of the big menu, because there was no information about it). The yakitori was outstanding! At the table we were sitting at, the smell of the toilet was always coming up whenever someone used the toilet... A bit unpleasant. Overall it was a nice trip but I really expected more quality and selection. I understand that the store was completely booked and that you have to expect a wait, but that was clearly too long. In the end I left with a bill of just over 80 euros.

The service left a lot to be desired: the waiters were unfriendly and often impossible to find. The quality of the food was also disappointing - the edamame were not properly cooked and barely seasoned, the sushi immediately fell apart and some reached the table in poor condition. In addition, portion sizes have decreased significantly while prices have increased. We won't go there again.

At first I wasn't sure whether I wanted to publish my opinion here. However, I have been a customer for over 6 years and I thought I would add my two cents. A lot has changed over the years - rather for the worse. It's somehow clear with the ordering system that the ordered items don't come to the table at the same time. Sometimes you're lucky, but sometimes you're unlucky. The items are sometimes almost cold. If you know the system, you take this risk. But it has to be mentioned that my three friends and I... Had reserved a table for Boxing Day. It was just full. And correspondingly loud. Conversations were not possible. What surprised me: A nice employee pointed out to us that there was a surcharge of €5 per person - because of the holiday. You couldn't read anything about this when making the reservation. Oh well. The table was reserved and we were looking forward to a lovely evening. So of course you agree. Over the years the quality of the food and the price have changed a lot. The portions became smaller; if you ordered several portions of an item, they arrived together in one bowl. Sharing was no longer possible. (Ordered 4x soba - got 2 large bowls, same with the sweet potato fries) The recipes have also changed from year to year. Especially noticeable with the soba and the udon noodles. So the soba, the egg and the spring onions were missing. And the udon came as a “cold noodle salad” with carrots and carrot strips. The worst part of the evening, however, was the dessert. It was an item that you had to pay extra for. A waffle with cream and fruit. Unfortunately, the waffle was inedible. It smelled strongly of old fat and that's how it tasted. As a rule, the empty containers are placed at the edge of the table and someone then clears them away. At our (and other tables) the plastic dishes were piled up until they almost tipped over... What still smelled very unpleasant were the toilets. They may be in the basement... but the smell rises into the restaurant. This has already been mentioned here in the reviews - but nothing has happened so far. (It has to be said that this wasn't the case a few years ago...) Unfortunately for my friends and me the price-performance ratio is no longer right, which is why we will no longer visit the restaurant. Too much has changed for the worse over the years and the price almost left me speechless. What you have to say is that the staff was and has always been very nice.

Very disappointing - poor service and cold food We were really disappointed with our visit. The service was not only unfriendly, but also gave the impression that it was deliberately ripping us off. We arrived without a reservation and there would only be one table if the more expensive menu was taken. A colleague then pointed out the smaller menu - an absolute no-go! The food was served cold which made things worse. Even the tea was lukewarm. Furthermore, the food leaves a lot to be desired, unfortunately not much is fresh here apart from the bottled water. Chicken tastes like it has been reheated once it is cooked through. Unfortunately it's really inedible, so far I've never left a restaurant hungry, but here I'd rather get something somewhere else. We have been to similar restaurants many times, but we have never experienced such quality overall. For these prices we definitely expected something completely different. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this restaurant.

I really like sushi, so as soon as I came to Germany, I started by visiting a sushi restaurant. I went without a reservation and the price per person was 35 euros (at first I thought the price was the average price of a sushi restaurant), but there doesn't seem to be a separate price for children (I went with my 11-year-old daughter and it was the same price as adults). The problem is that the basics of a sushi restaurant are not there. This was my first time asking for wasabi for sushi at a sushi restaurant, so I was very confused and dumbfounded. They brought me the wasabi and pickled ginger I requested, but for 4 people eating, it was just one plate of wasabi and pickled ginger about the size of a little finger... Pickled ginger smells like mold... I ordered and waited for about 30 minutes... Nevertheless, I waited with great anticipation for sushi, but what kind of sushi is this again? Aside from the fact that the food is cold, the grains of the rice stick to your teeth when you chew them, whether because they are not cooked or because they are not made of sushi rice. The tuna that should be covering the rice is floating on top of it. How can eel sushi have such a fishy smell? I asked for toothpicks, but 3 employees only responded and no one brought them to me. I was trying to order ice cream for dessert, but it didn't show up on my phone, so I asked the staff and they told me to wait. After waiting for 15 minutes to get ice cream, I got tired so I paid and left. For your information, I give one star because the person who grilled the lamb ribs put a lot of effort into it. As a result, the quality of this restaurant is so poor compared to the price that even after eating, it feels like a waste of money. This is not a restaurant I would recommend.

Sehr schlecht organisiert. Beim Eingang reihte man sich erst einmal in die lange Reihe Wartender, die auch reserviert hatten und nicht empfangen wurden. 20 Minuten später am Tisch ging die Warterei für die Bestellung weiter, das Personal wirkte völlig überfordert mit den Abläufen. Das versprochene Konzept 'all you can eat' kollidierte mit dem Motto 'all one can deliver'. Speisen wurden unvollständig oder gar nicht serviert, mit japanischer Esskultur hatte diese Erfahrung wenig gemeinsam.

The food at Okinii Düsseldorf City was, as always, delicious and the price-performance ratio was absolutely reasonable. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. It was definitely not my first visit here, and certainly not the last either! Absolutely recommended.

I had high expectations for the Okinii, especially based on the many positive reviews. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed. First of all, there was no explanation or recommendations about the menu, which is usually the case in a good restaurant when the restaurant is relatively empty. The food was ok, but not worth the price. The portions were rather small and the quality of the dish left a lot to be desired. Some dishes were no longer warm either. And almost half of the orders were brought to the table much later or not at all. I expected more for a restaurant in this price range. When this was pointed out to service, the problem was not addressed. All the food would have been brought out. The bill was then simply brought and the issue was settled. In summary, unfortunately I can't say much positive about the visit. Despite its good reputation, I can't recommend Okinii at the moment - there are many other restaurants in the area that offer much more in terms of both service and quality.

I have been a guest at Okinii for over 10 years, but after my last visit that ended. The quality has slowly but surely deteriorated and to top it off today I found a hair in my ice cream. When I pointed this out to service, I received the unprofessional response that the hair was probably mine since the kitchen was wearing a cloth. While it is true that chefs wear headgear, it is also apparent that these do not always completely cover all hair (not to mention facial hair). My hair is long and dark and was tied in a braid that evening, the hair I found was short and fine (see attached photo). A simple apology – “I’m sorry, this shouldn’t have happened” – would have significantly improved the situation. Instead, I felt blamed and not taken seriously. I didn't want any new ice cream after this incident. A disappointing farewell to a once esteemed restaurant. I'm not coming back.

We were there on a Wednesday evening. It was pretty crowded. +Still, the food came very quickly and it was delicious. We can highly recommend the salmon and shrimp. The meat was also tasty. Our waitress Muna was very friendly and explained everything to us. If something was missing, she took care of it straight away. - Unfortunately our drinks didn't arrive until after our second round of food. Some dishes also arrived either late or not at all. Overall, our experience was positive and we would like to come back.

From the moment we arrived he was extremely friendly and accommodating. Erman greeted us with a smile and explained the concept of the buffet very well. During our stay he made sure our drinks were always refilled and regularly asked if we needed anything else. What was particularly impressive was his ability to make the atmosphere relaxed and inviting. He always had a joke ready and made us feel at home. His attention to details, such as keeping tables clean and quickly clearing empty plates, helped make our visit a thoroughly enjoyable one. It was clear that he loves his work and cares about the guests' satisfaction. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant and the excellent service from my colleague!

The restaurant should rethink its name. Instead of Okinii it is very good there. A real culinary delight. While I'm still sending my tax return by fax, you can easily and conveniently order meals at Okinii using your smartphone. Everything is prepared fresh and quickly. As an Alman through and through, “I can’t complain.” Parking is unfortunately a bit difficult but normal for Düsseldorf. It's best to take the tram, it stops almost in front of the door and the planet thanks you.

I am truly sorry for every animal that died for this “food”. I needed something quick in the evening and had no demands, but this, I hardly dare call it food, was an unparalleled impudence. I feel deeply sorry for every food that was harvested, produced or killed for this purpose, as well as for everyone who had to prepare it. Really guys, one little thing I would like to pass on to every reader is just cook for yourself instead of giving in to laziness and stuffing this food into yourself. In the end, I see it as a lesson after I had to smoke 10 cigarettes to get the taste of that disgusting salmon out of my mouth.

The food tastes delicious but the delivery time takes too long. If they say 1 hour it turns into 2 hours and by then the food will be cold

Incredibly poor service and delivery times. I've experienced this several times where I waited hours for my order, and no one answered my phone when I had questions. Preferably zero stars.
