The all-you-can-eat offering is extremely limited, with very little variety and almost no truly interesting options. The more appealing dishes, when available, require an additional cost. Furthermore, most of the dishes labeled as sushi are made with duck or chicken, which offer a wider choice than fish.

I went to this restaurant for an all-you-can-eat meal. The food tasted okay—nothing special, but not bad either. Unfortunately, I had severe gastrointestinal problems with severe diarrhea the night after, which, in retrospect, puts a very negative spin on the visit. Of course, I can't say with absolute certainty that it was the food, but the timing is unfortunately striking. It's a shame, because the visit was actually quite pleasant. I hope the restaurant thoroughly reviews its hygiene standards.

This was my first time at Okinii, mainly because of the great €20 offer during the summer holidays; you really can't go wrong with that. I wasn't disappointed: The sushi was delicious, especially the nigiris with salmon, which was extremely fresh. The wait times for the food were a bit longer, but that was probably because it was the first day of the €20 offer and it was just so busy. I don't want to deduct a point for that; I can totally understand that. As long as the offer is available, I will definitely eat there again because it's simply amazing. I also don't understand the reviews that say it's confusing. I don't think it could be any clearer: You can see exactly what you've ordered, there are pictures, which is a huge help, and you can easily order on your phone. If someone doesn't look carefully at what they're ordering or forgets something, I don't think that's Okinii's fault. All in all: top shop, delicious sushi and great value for money!

We've been going to Okinii on and off for years, and unfortunately, we've noticed the ever-deteriorating quality. Unfortunately, today the restrooms were very dirty, and the service was poor. The server was slurred and quickly became irritated. The food you order via the app usually doesn't arrive at your table in its entirety (but that's been the case for years). On top of that, the items have gotten smaller, and all for the same price. Some of the food tasted better, but they've also cut down on vegetables (e.g., there's no more in the fried noodles). All in all, it's been a real downward trend.

We were there on a Saturday afternoon and got a table without a reservation. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food always took a very long time to arrive. Sometimes we waited so long that we thought nothing was coming, so we sent our next order, and then suddenly both rounds arrived at once. The appetizers and meat dishes were all cold, which I found a little odd and really wasn't tasty. The sushi tasted okay, but nothing special. I've had much better. The Coke was uncarbonated and tasted stale. For me, it was the first and last time.

Good atmosphere and great food!!! The only complaint I have is that they should improve the lighting in the restaurant; it looks very dark! On the other hand, very good service for a Friday night, and the food didn't take long to arrive! On the other hand, we really liked the sushi; good quality and fresh produce. We really liked the tempura sushi, the cream cheese roll, and especially the duck roll. We also really liked the chicken and shrimp skewers; they are top-notch. Finally, we really liked the green tea ice cream. Thank you very much; we'll be back soon.

It started with me waiting 10 minutes for my PIN. I wasn't informed beforehand that I needed one and thought my internet connection was bad. Then I got food from another table twice. Waited 30 minutes for my cutlery. By then, my lamb was cold. The rice on the sushi fell off immediately after dipping it in the soy sauce, and I only had half a sushi. I was sometimes instigated by the waiters while I was seated, and except for one time, no apology. I waited a long time for food. My dessert didn't arrive after 20 minutes. Then I wanted to pay, which, with the waiter ordering, took another 15 minutes. So, 35 minutes, and the dessert wasn't there. 5 minutes longer, and I would have left without paying. For the price, the food was mediocre. First and last time. Then I put down €50.45 for a bill of €40.45, and the waiter asks if that's okay. It couldn't be more brazen.

We were very disappointed with our last visit. We were there for weekday lunch on a Monday. First of all, the waiter was pacing back and forth in front of the waiting guests in front of the entrance, talking loudly on the phone and wearing stained sweatpants, happily scratching his bottom. (If we'd known it was the waiter, we would have left immediately!) The chef stood next to him, smoking. The first few rounds of sushi were very dry and didn't seem freshly prepared. However, this changed after the second order. Even after the first order, the waiter rudely informed us that the kappa maki (cucumber-filled sushi roll) were out. Unfortunately, the empty plates and serving platters were sometimes not picked up for a long time, even though new dishes had already been delivered, so space on the table quickly became scarce, and an unappetizing pile formed. All in all, we were used to significantly better quality at Okinii, both in terms of the food and the service. We won't be coming back anytime soon.

The experience was just okay. The sushi was disappointing—lacking in freshness and flavor—and the fried rice was unseasoned and quite bland. On the positive side, the chicken skewers and ginger beef were both very tasty and definitely the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the service was a major drawback. Half of our order was never prepared, and the overall speed was extremely slow. We had to place three separate orders before receiving our first, which is frustrating given that you’re only allowed to order every 15 minutes. The restaurant is located in Little Tokyo, Düsseldorf. The interior is quite dark, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing and adds to the atmosphere. The sushi itself was tasty and fresh. However, some of our orders never arrived, even after we asked about them. The staff seemed very busy, which we understand, but at times we felt ignored, which made the experience less enjoyable. Overall, the food was good, but the service could definitely be improved.

If you order more then a child can eat, they will delay bringing the order despite the fact the that we told them twice about this and in the end they brought it after 1 hour after we send the order, showing them also this thing. Also not to many options to choose. Extremely disappointed!

Entering the restaurant you are greeted with a beautifully relaxing atmosphere which gets you right in the mood to enjoy some lovely sushi. However the sushi itself was quite underwhelming and disappointing. The sushi options lacked in variety, the rice was dry and everything tasted very uninspired . Paying 7€ for a bottle of water also felt quite offensive considering it wasn’t even a 1 litre bottle.

The ordering process, as well as the serving and service, are quite chaotic, which is due to the concept (every 15 minutes, a group can order five items each via an app on their smartphone). The food is relatively inexpensive, but the sushi, including the ginger and wasabi, is clearly below the standard of sushi at the relevant traditional Japanese restaurants in Düsseldorf or nearby, in terms of taste and quality. Service, as far as we've encountered, has been very friendly. Because it's so open, it's very noisy when there are a lot of people in the room. It's also very chilly. The food was mostly delicious. The sushi was okay to good. The rest of the food was very tasty. Sometimes the food that was supposed to be hot arrived cold at the table. Other drawbacks include the strong drain/toilet smell in the entrance area and the dirty restrooms (men's and women's).

Most of the food served is frozen, and there is sushi, but it's not that tasty, so it may take a different talent to make it. You can order 5 items per person (at night) every 15 minutes, but it doesn't come even after 30 minutes. When it finally comes, it's obviously frozen food and cold. I gave up and ordered dessert, but I ordered ice cream twice, and the second ice cream was obviously less. It was about 1/3 of the ice cream that came the first time. I thought it was all-you-can-eat, so I tried to order again, but suddenly they said that you can only order ice cream once. I forced myself to accept that the second time was a mistake, and asked for the bill. No one came even after 15 minutes. I waited, and the waiter suddenly put the ice cream on the table without saying anything and left. I ate the ice cream without knowing what was going on, and waited for the bill again, but it didn't come. I had no choice but to call out to the waiter and tell him how long the bill hadn't come, and he asked me, "Is it ice cream?" in a slightly mocking tone. When I told them I was paying again, they were laughing and talking to other staff members while clearly looking at me. To be honest, I felt bad. When I finally paid, they didn't even say thank you or apologize for being late. I will never go there again.

Wow, the service is terrible. Sometimes the things you order don't arrive for almost an hour. Then you're suddenly told you can only order one ice cream, and you think, "Okay, we'll pay." We wait a good 20 minutes, and then another ice cream arrives after 10 minutes? When we went to the checkout because waiting 20 minutes to pay is ridiculous, two employees apparently made jokes about us right in front of us. The food is... okay, a lot of it tastes frozen. The sushi is also... meh.

Hello Oiikinii We had seats at the front by the window, but unfortunately, it smelled like a sewer. The food was generally not good. I've been a customer since the very beginning, and unfortunately, it's gotten worse over the years. Today: 1. Meat was tough 2. Coke Zero wasn't carbonated properly 3. Udon noodles were sweet 4. Sushi, unfortunately, wasn't OK either What was good: Raw salmon was good, as was the ice cream. Seaweed, spinach, and vegetables were good But the overall experience was unfortunately unsatisfactory. The online ordering system isn't good; you have no overview of what's still needed. Some orders take too long. I'll be avoiding this place for now. I'd rather Naniwa, Quomo...

Okinii is a busy restaurant, so reservations are definitely recommended during peak times or for larger groups. They offer an all-you-can-eat menu (with different choices at lunch and dinner), which is controlled via iPads. Drinks and a few other items are charged additionally to the flat rate. There's a wide selection to choose from, with something for everyone. In addition to classic sushi in various variations, there's also yakitori, tempura, seaweed salad, salmon, rice, and more. These dishes can be easily combined, and the individual dishes are also sized to fit your needs.

A great family meal! There were three of us and we didn't make a reservation, but we still got a table. It was around 3 p.m. We were able to order digitally; there was a QR code at the table that took us to the menu. We were able to do eight rounds in two hours. Each of us ordered five dishes per round, from savory to sweet. On weekends, there's a larger menu with more choice. The food is incredibly delicious. The portions are small, but the amount fills you up quickly. That's why we only managed four rounds. It's a bit difficult to find a parking space nearby, but it's worth the drive. We'll treat ourselves to it again.

I haven't been there in a very long time, and it's changed dramatically for the worse. There are no tablets anymore; you have to use your own phone. Much less selection, the rice was often hard and grainy, just like the day before. Desserts cost extra, and they no longer serve ice cream. It took a very long time, even though it was "only" lunchtime on a Tuesday. There were several wrong deliveries. The service was friendly, but often slow and distracted. The decor is a bit worn. All in all, not necessarily recommended. Okay for a quick bite to eat without any pretensions. I probably won't go back; I used to love it, but it's no longer enjoyable.

Having known the restaurant for over ten years and visited it regularly, I think I can offer a valid opinion. While Okinii was very innovative and appealing, especially in its early years, and particularly impressed me with the new and interesting way of ordering (via iPad), this enthusiasm gradually waned over the course of several visits. However, when I recently went there again with friends for the evening buffet, my enthusiasm was rekindled by some very positive changes, although not fundamental ones. For example, the iPad was no longer used for ordering, at least for us, and we were able to order using our smartphones and login credentials. The menu also seemed to have been expanded to include some interesting dishes. However, if you're expecting something truly exceptional in terms of the selection of dishes at Okinii, you won't quite find what you're looking for, in my opinion, as the menu doesn't really stand out from other restaurants with a similar or identical concept. Unfortunately, the service has deteriorated considerably over time. Less in terms of friendliness, which was generally appropriate and in keeping with the restaurant, but rather in terms of aspects such as prompt or correct service, as unfortunately, it often happened that we had to wait a very long time for dishes, or that some dishes weren't even brought, and there seemed to be a certain amount of confusion when we asked for them. The ambiance of the restaurant, on the other hand, is very pleasant; there is a generally quiet atmosphere in which private conversations are easily possible. This tranquility is rarely interrupted by the occasional loud conversation of other guests. The overall interior, with its dark black and blue tones, is also very appealing and conveys a somewhat classic image of a futuristic restaurant in Tokyo. However, the dark color scheme in particular makes it more inviting to visit the restaurant in the evening. Given the restaurant's location in "Little Tokyo" in Düsseldorf, I would highly recommend this to enjoy the overall atmosphere. If you want to get a first impression of what a Japanese restaurant can be like without having to fully immerse yourself in Japanese food culture and language, this is the place for you.

On our last visit, we waited 20 minutes for two lattes and 30 minutes for two Raffaelo dessert balls (see picture below), which were cold instead of warm, as they should have been. It's also worth noting that it was relatively empty, so I wonder what the wait times are like here during peak times... The atmosphere is nice, but the food doesn't really taste good... Rice, udon noodles, and fried noodles were ALL served cold?? We didn't understand that, and as a result, they didn't taste good anymore. The chicken and meat were very dry, especially the schnitzel, which tasted like it came from a €3 Rewe pre-packaged food. We also didn't understand why, despite the "all you can eat" lunch, we didn't have a single dessert included. There's always a small surcharge, which isn't transparent in my opinion. But everyone has to decide for themselves. ``` Two years ago, every dessert was included. All in all, disappointing; we won't be coming back.

The Mai Tai was very watery. It was very disappointing. The straw was made of paper, which isn't great either. When I had to make dumplings again after eating, which took about 20-25 minutes including wiping, an employee got impatient, came into the restroom, and asked if everything was okay. The food tasted very good and seemed to be of high quality. The restaurant's concept is exciting and offers an interesting change from the traditional restaurant experience. However, there was still room for improvement in the implementation: Orders were sometimes confused with other tables or simply forgotten, which somewhat disrupted the flow. It's also important to note that this is effectively an "all-you-can-eat" model. You can order up to five rounds of five dishes per person. That may not sound like much at first, but in practice it's more than sufficient – so there's nothing wrong with that. Overall, I found the process a bit chaotic, which is probably due to the complexity of the concept. With better organization, the visit could have run much more smoothly.

We were there on Saturday, May 10th. with 6 people for dinner at Okini. All tables were occupied. First impressions while waiting in front of the door... a manager is on the phone in front of the door and talks about current daily sales and personnel measures. I find it unfortunate when guests notice this unintentionally. When you enter... directly in the entrance area there are stairs to the right that lead to the toilets. Unfortunately you can smell the cleaning products all the way into the restaurant. I don't want to sit facing the window. The staff then kindly took us to a table far back. Everything great. And contrary to many other reviews here: the service was really, really good. Very attentive, empty plates were quickly removed, politely asked for drinks... they worked as a team - great!: The ambience is pleasant, the volume is medium... you can have a conversation in 1-2 seats opposite, but after that it becomes difficult. This may also be due to the bass-heavy background music - you could do without that if the store is full - you can't hear anything more than the bass anyway. The ordering concept, on the other hand, is questionable: each table (!) can order 5 things every 15 minutes via cell phone. So the shopping cart for 6 guests on their cell phones fills up at the same time... Corrections are confusing... after 5 minutes we deleted the entire shopping cart and ordered new things one after the other, i.e. 30 things in the shopping cart, everyone orders 5... so far so good. And so the first, second, third order goes by... and the overview is lost. Sometimes parts of an order are delivered almost immediately, other things from the first order only arrive after the second order. The overview is lost. Highlight: Although the dessert has already been delivered, latecomers (sushi and meat) suddenly arrive from previous orders that have not yet been delivered. In some cases orders were not delivered at all or at least not to our table. Who wants to eat a main course after dessert? I ate almost exclusively sushi. First of all: tastes are different, so my opinion does not have to be a standard. However, we were in Japan for 4 weeks last year and for me Okini would not be a substitute for good sushi. The rice was too sweet, the tuna was sometimes very stringy, with the Tekka Maiki the tuna was already grayish (probably pre-produced and not fresh), with the nigiri the tuna was torn apart and fibrous. I actually wanted to order sashimi (extra charge) ... but given the quality of the tuna, I decided not to. And the Japanese can do that better: you get the food of the same quality as you see on the menu. This is definitely not the case in Okini. Just compare my photos with the map... or the color of the tuna between the maki and nigiri. And another note about the Ginkans: They are simply too big to eat in one piece and with chopsticks. Smaller ones shouldn't be a problem, right? ;-) The conclusion remains: Price/performance is fair, if you want to try many different dishes from Japanese cuisine, this is the right place for you. It's definitely worth a try. Better quality sushi would be more important to me, and I would be happy to pay more for that. You shouldn't expect that from an "all-you-can-eat" offer like this. My mistake. There certainly won't be a follow-up visit for us, hence only the 2 stars... sorry.

Top local. We ate really well. We were able to put together several courses with individual sets. The price was also reasonable for this. Ordering is done via mobile phone and is easy and the food always comes quickly. My husband doesn't usually eat sushi, but he tried it and he liked everything. All of good quality. The staff were kind, respectful, and made a real effort to communicate and assist us, which we truly appreciated. It’s a very welcoming place for the deaf community. No more Okinii Immermannstrasse. I have been a regular customer at Okinii for over 10 years, mainly in Cologne but also Medienhafen and Immermannstr. Was already in Essen and Wiesbaden when it still existed. Especially when Mr. Peters was still around and especially when he was there himself, the service was top notch and the shops ran like clockwork. Unfortunately, Mr. Peters is no longer COO at Okinii. Today in Immermannstr. Everything actually started as usual, with individual dishes or dishes not arriving at all or at least extremely delayed - that's normal at Okinii. But today that was also extreme. A senior employee responded to a small complaint about this in a very bitchy manner. We would have liked to have repaid the frustration over the inconsistent food deliveries with plenty of ice cream. I've been used to this for years - getting as much as you want. But I don't eat any of the frozen desserts or baked bananas, and my companion often only eats moderately or no dessert at all. Although the ice cream order was accepted flawlessly by the very friendly and courteous Greta (just as great: Esha), she was then instructed by the shift manager that only 3 scoops of ice cream were permitted per person. I found that a bit strange. How much does a scoop of ice cream cost Okinii, 3 cents? But bottomless salmon and ribeye? Huh? I still wanted these 3 balls. But they didn't come. Not even after 20 minutes. The lady in charge of the shift with whom I had asked to speak didn't show up either, instead preferring to have wild discussions with her colleague at the front desk. We then decided to pay and leave. We got a discount on the meal from a gentleman, which was ok. All in all, frustrating, unpleasant and unsatisfying. Oh yes, and the smell from the toilets in the basement goes all the way up to the entrance area and also to the bar and the tables there. Luckily we sat further back. The smell largely consists of the scent of toilet cleaner + X. I would like the owner or commentator here to really respond to my criticisms and not to make generic thanks and promises in the future.

So I've actually been to Okinii very often, for example in Cologne, Essen and the two Düsseldorf branches and also in comparable restaurants. The last visit here in Düsseldorf City was really the worst I've had so far. After several orders had already been placed, the first plates slowly arrived in dribs and drabs. But nothing really connected. Then a long break until something came again and then from the various rounds of orders... of course you'll lose your hunger at some point. Drinks from the second round also came way too late even though there was really little to do overall. After a short criticism was addressed, only a mushy tone came from the shift manager (all other service staff remained friendly). She also apparently indicated that our orders, such as ice cream as dessert, were restricted. I thought that would be too colorful and we called it a night. I've never experienced it before and the Okinii in Düsseldorf City was the last time I saw it because there wasn't even an apology. Just bad.

I let myself be carried away by the influenza that it was the best Suhsi Restaurant in Düsseldorf. Unfortunately disappointed. Sushi rice tasted too sweet, it was more like a dessert, it didn't satisfy me, there was no vinegar aroma, which makes Suhsi unique. Wasabi was 0 hot or didn't even taste like wasabi unless you put a cube-sized piece on it so that it finally gives off flavor. Portions are a bit small for some dishes but generous for sushi (fish). Service is very good, and ordering with your cell phone is quite ok, although it would be annoying if several people were to share a cell phone and alternatively a tablet from the operator would be a solution.

Luckily someone had two phones, otherwise I would have had to order something from the pizza taxi. Nobody can see which orders have already been delivered or are still coming. Statement from the waiter: I have no idea about that, I just deliver what the kitchen gives me. Because 10 people had various orders grouped together on one plate, you can no longer assign anything. How am I supposed to know that 2 pieces of baked bananas on one plate are two different orders from 2 people? Either way, some orders were probably never delivered, but of course they were on the invoice. Just do a test and order something unique... a napkin or a fork... and it won't come. This was by far one of the worst restaurant visits I have ever experienced. The food was carelessly prepared, tasted unreasonable and definitely not enjoyable. One had the feeling that neither quality nor freshness was taken into account here. The staff seemed completely disinterested - no greeting, no friendliness, no attention. You were treated more like a nuisance than a guest. The cherry on top: the toilets. Totally dirty, unkempt and simply disgusting. Something like that isn't possible and shows how little value is placed on hygiene here. Absolutely not recommended - I definitely won't be coming back.

I am truly sorry for every animal that died for this “food”. I needed something quick in the evening and had no demands, but this, I hardly dare call it food, was an unparalleled impudence. I feel deeply sorry for every food that was harvested, produced or killed for this purpose, as well as for everyone who had to prepare it. Really guys, one little thing I would like to pass on to every reader is just cook for yourself instead of giving in to laziness and stuffing this food into yourself.
