OISHII in Karlsruhe

I definitely don't recommend this sushi place! First, there's no one at the entrance to greet customers, and then no one comes to take our order (by the way, they only serve all-can-eat for around €27). So we had to ask the waitress, just like the table next to us, and then the food arrived, which actually tasted delicious. However, the portions for the soups, for example, are very small and the food is nothing special, but I would come back for the food. Also worth mentioning was the "unfriendliness" of the staff. You could see they were overworked. I would always go to a different sushi restaurant instead.

Update: There's been an improvement in quality recently, which is why I've raised the rating. I come here often, and I have to say that it really bothers me that the rice-to-ingredient ratio in the sushi is very unbalanced. Sometimes (depending on the day?) you get sushi that consists almost entirely of rice. I find that very unfortunate. Perhaps they should raise the price if they can't afford the ingredients in the sushi.

We used to love this restaurant and came here with pleasure. But on our last visit we were very disappointed: we noticed chips on the dishes, some dishes were completely unsalted and tasteless. What was especially unpleasant was that the waitress spoke to me arrogantly and impudently, which is completely unacceptable in service. In addition, the child got a dead fly in a toy, which completely spoiled the impression. Unfortunately, we decided not to come here anymore and will look for another restaurant that suits us better.

Unfortunately, most of the food wasn't very tasty. The sushi with raw fish was cheap supermarket quality and was warm, meaning it wasn't refrigerated! The chicken skewers were inedible; who knows if the meat was still good.

Great place to bring kids; they have fun Ording Demontage iPads. Overall the Sushi itself is „okay“. There are definitely better places in Karlsruhe. But the atmosphere is nice and we have fun there; have been going there for years. If someone in your group doesn’t like sushi, they also have tons of non-sushi options.

Lack of customer service. I was denied a window seat in a completely empty restaurant. I had to leave and find a more customer-friendly restaurant.

The food is incredibly delicious. Perfect for certified all-you-can-eat fans and gluttons. The time limit for the all-you-can-eat experience is enormous (8 hours). The five items per person for a total of 15 rounds are equally generous. The Asian Maultaschen (ravioli) and the delicious Kos ice cream are especially recommended. All in all, a real treat.

Not recommended. The food quality dropped a lot. Everything is saltier than it used to be. They also limit the salmon sashimi order to one piece per person per round.

1 Star – Unfortunately, more sushi frustration than sushi enjoyment We went there today for our anniversary and were really looking forward to it – unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The sushi rolls were completely unbalanced: an excessive amount of rice, hardly any filling. You practically had to scrape off the rice to achieve some balance – as we all know, eating is important, and in this case, unfortunately, the stomach less so. The service was also… meh. The waitress didn't ask if we enjoyed our meal or if we were finished – she simply decided we were. My plate was taken away without comment, even though I wasn't quite finished – just because I had ordered ice cream. That was really rude and a shame. Our conclusion: It's better to spend a few euros more and go to a restaurant where you feel comfortable as a guest and the food is made with more love. We definitely won't be coming back here.

Very good experience, loads of choice from menu, and staff were prompt with food despite the high footfall at the time. Tablet was easy to use, prices laid out clearly, and staff happy to answer any questions we had. Would recommend.

This was by far the most delicious sushi/Asian all-you-can-eat I've ever been to. The price of €27.90 for a 2-hour order is absolutely amazing. You order in rounds on a tray. Each person can choose five dishes from the entire menu. After submitting your order, you have a five-minute break before ordering again. The food came very quickly, was always freshly prepared, warm, and EVERY dish was delicious. I was still blown away the next day. Everyone simply has to experience this all-you-can-eat experience. I'll definitely be coming back there more often in the future to indulge myself. MEGA

This restaurant is very suitable for slogans, and a waitress is so westernized that it takes almost no time for white people to order 10 rounds, while my friend and I ordered 2 rounds in 50 minutes, and the important staple food was not served at all, only Wakame and spicy cabbage were served. For this reason, I would recommend the "all you can eat" option to everyone, where you can order over 15 rounds. Each person can order 5 “items” per round. I think the great thing is that you can order via tablet. It's possible that some orders go missing and you don't get something, but you can simply reorder it in the next round. Of course there are items that don't taste that good, but overall the price-performance ratio is good.

I'm the tuna faction here. I love both maki and nigiri, both made with tuna. Here you can enjoy both in large quantities... and in top quality. Sushi worse than the one at Kaufland. The uramaki consists of a disproportionate amount of rice and only a small piece of salmon and avocado (which was mainly hard and unripe). This was a very cool place. At the start you get an iPad on which u can order on. There are 15 rounds in which u can order different foods. After every round u need to wait around 10 minutes until you can order again. The sushi was decent. The fried salmon and tuna were one of the best! It's very tasty, it's just a shame that you have to vacate the place after 2 hours. Of the possible 15 rounds of orders, I usually only manage four because time just flies when you're talking to friends and eating.

The ambience and the atmosphere in the restaurant were great and the waiters were all friendly. The fish also tasted quite good but unfortunately the rice was not that fresh and very dry so something could be changed and the soy sauces there contain ALCOHOL which we are very careful not to consume. We never thought that there was alcohol in soy sauces. As a restaurant manager, you could really pay attention to the fact that there might be people who forego something like that.

Today was the LAST TIME I came to this restaurant. 😡 I must say they just lost 2 regular customers... My husband and I used to come once a month and today we had a terrible experience. Two different waitresses came to our table and told us that we could not order more than TWO PIECES of sushi (Salmon Nigiri). Please note that this is an "All You Can Eat Buffet" and we charge accordingly. But the waitresses came to our table very upset saying that we could not order more than TWO PIECES (of Salmon Nigiri) per round! 🤡 according to WHAT IS WRITTEN ON THE MENU, in each round you can order 5 pieces of ANY of the items that are in the "All You Can Eat" catalog marked as included!! (According to the menu's own "rules") It turns out that the employees make "ugly faces" at customers who only want to eat sushi or something with salmon... Unless you want to eat rice, noodles or something other than fish in this "Sushi & Grill" restaurant, you run the risk of being treated like they treated us... it was really very unpleasant, a TERRIBLE experience. Not to mention that some things we order never arrive at the table... You "can" order 5 pieces per round but there is no guarantee that they will bring them! 😠 Their only policy is that there is no waste, but in reality you CANNOT eat the pieces you like... you have to order other things other than salmon or you will get upset employees at your table!! Ridiculous! 😡

All you can eat (not!!) You can't really eat all you want, they will tell you that you can only ask X amount of food every round, even though the tablet lets you pick 5 items per person per round. When I asked why I couldn't choose 5 items of the same food (salmon Nigri) in the same round (round 2 of supposedly 15!!) they said it was too much! 🤡 Be careful with the food items you ask, some of them don't come untill you already forgot about them. Maybe on purpose do you have to pay extra? Also bring money with you, their TPA machines sometimes don't want to work , especially when there's not many people at the restaurant 🤔 Wouldn't recommend coming here, unless you really have no other option.

The three of us used the all you can eat option for 27.90. This is by far the best Asian all you can eat restaurant I've ever been to. All, absolutely all without exception, food was top notch and freshly prepared. The food always came quickly and was super delicious. You order with a tray and can choose all the dishes from the entire menu. From salmon sashimi to various types of sushi, Chinese dishes and desserts, everything is included. If it were possible, I would give out even more points. I'm completely thrilled - what a restaurant - simply amazing. A very big recommendation from me.

My friends and I enjoy the all you can eat here from time to time. The food is really tasty, the selection is large and the price is absolutely great! The staff are friendly and the restaurant is nicely decorated. Only once I was constantly asked if I wanted to drink something else, even though I said no several times and it started to get annoying. Once there was a small spot of mold in my ice cream that was difficult to notice at first glance, so I don't blame the employees for that, but it would be good to pay more attention to it in the future. All in all, I really enjoy being there :)

Disappointing experience overall! The quality of the food was mediocre at best. Some hot dishes were served cold and the fried foods were clearly frozen. The salmon was particularly disappointing - it looked more like leftover pieces than high-quality fillets. The sushi rice was of poor quality: dry and hard. The service also left a lot to be desired. The staff seemed hectic and disorganized. What was particularly irritating was that printed receipts were placed directly on the dishes, so that they came into direct contact with the food - absolutely unhygienic. We were also repeatedly pressured to pay in cash and the communication was rather unfriendly. I would not recommend this restaurant as both the food and service were far below expectations.

Unfortunately very tasteless even though it was presented nicely The service lady had her eyes fixed on the end of the workday and swarmed around the table like hungry lions prey. Never eaten sushi so quickly. I have never felt so uncomfortable. And I've never tasted sushi so bad. Both in terms of taste and in the area of ​​hospitality.

Update 2024: I made my first review for Oishii 4 years ago and gave it five stars. For the price and quality, place WAS a good choice. Nowadays, the prices are higher but the quality is worse. I will not go there anymore. Ordered items are often forgotten or mistaken, the fish tastes like fridge and all the other items besides it also have gotten worse sadly... Even the Gyoza which was one of the highlights from the place is bad. I wish they turn around and improve their quality, but after my second time going there in a span of 6 months and not seeing any improvements, I will give up on it and go somewhere else. RIP Oishii

My husband and I were there on November 2nd (Saturday) around 5:45 p.m. Really well attended. We were given a table that was so close to another that you would have thought we all belonged together. Quality is terrible. 90% of the (warm) food is actually cold, if what was ordered even came. Then we received dishes that we didn't order. When we said it wasn't ours, eyes rolled. I got something that tasted exactly like dog food smells. Couldn't swallow it (thanks for serving) At some point I no longer had any nerves, I just wanted to pay and leave. We had to wait almost 30 minutes and I let them know 4 times. When she finally came and my husband paid with a card, she stood there for ages, probably waiting for a tip. I always give, but not this time!! For what? We paid €67 and we were still hungry. Or for the self-absorbed waiter who always looked in the mirror and almost lost his chewing gum while eating? Or picked at the nose and then served the plates with it. BON APPETIT!!! I will never go to the store again. There are definitely better ones!!

After I asked 3 times I was told sorry, the kitchen can't keep up. But people assume they can do that! Getting to the point avoids going there on the weekend. Worst buffet I've ever been to. The sushi is horrible. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the first round but it had a HUGE amount of rice. They literally filled us up with rice on the first round. The second round was better, but still look at that amount of salmon in the picture. What is that. The rest of the dishes were meh. The miso soup was not even edible. Don't come if you want good sushi, save your money.

Funny! When making a phone call the price was quoted as 22.90, when it arrived there it was 27. You have 2 hours from when you enter the store, funny white people take their time explaining that you have to order with the iPad. 15 minutes are lost, then you order something that then takes 10 minutes per order, then the store suddenly becomes full of things that I hadn't ordered or they didn't even come to. Food itself is ok, but it's really an impudence like they are waste the time.
