Food was subpar. I know it was an all you can eat buffet but the food lacked flavor and salt and the beef/steak was extremely tough. The shrimp was watery and the steam pieces were tough, but they also seemed to be cut with the grain instead of against it, so it was super chewy. Wait staff didnt speak german. One waitress spoke broken german at best, which was super difficult when she explained the iPad ordering. Also, this might be kind of petty, but they were extremely stingy with the napkins. This proved to be a bigger issue because none of the shrimp was shelled and your fingers got pretty messy after having to shell all the shrimp. Also, quick note for allergy for sufferers, the fried sushi, which contains chicken also contain avocado, but this was not listed on the ingredients list. Braised beef was ok but also dry. Lamb chop was probably the best menu item

Hello everyone, I would like to share my impressions from my last visit to this place. It was my first time there, and I was with my girlfriend. I used to walk past it often, see lots of people inside, and think it must be a great place – unfortunately, I was disappointed. From the outside, everything looks very good – the design and atmosphere inside are really nice. But ultimately, you go to such places to eat well – and that's exactly where the problem lies. The table we were seated at was dirty and not cleared. The tablet ordering system is a good idea in itself, but unfortunately, the implementation is very poor. The photos of the dishes are either completely unappealing, blurry, or, for about 30% of the dishes, nonexistent – ​​often, you can't even tell what it is from the name. The selection of dishes is very limited, and there are only a few options that look particularly appealing. The rice clearly showed that it had been prepared for a long time – it was hard and dry. I paid about €65 for two people and was overall quite dissatisfied. Perhaps others had better luck, but unfortunately, my impression was not positive.

Some foods taste better, but not all. It's a great offer if you have buffet lunch except Sunday or public holidays. It is still a good value for money for people who can eat 8 rounds of food orders.

A truly disappointing visit. We went there for the all-you-can-eat sushi – and that was unfortunately a huge mistake. The quality of the food was abysmal: the fish tasted old, the rice was mushy, and much of it was simply inedible. We felt sick for hours after eating – and that's unfortunately no coincidence; it clearly speaks volumes about the questionable freshness and quality of the ingredients. The only positive thing: the staff were friendly, the service was fast, and the ambiance was okay. But that unfortunately doesn't salvage the overall impression in the slightest. If you don't want to risk your health or your appetite, you should avoid this restaurant.

I've been there several times. The selection is large and the concept is clever. The food arrives hot at the table. Unfortunately, everything only comes with sweet and sour sauce. Choosing a sauce isn't possible or costs extra. It's a bit of a shame. The number of rounds and 5 tokens per round are nice. Unfortunately, if several people at the table order the same thing in one round, everything comes on one plate. Beef is generally not recommended; it's usually tough. Chicken and duck are very tasty. All in all, a solid 4 stars. I can highly recommend it.

Very good quality sushi and all the other dishes were great too. Unfortunately, 3 items ordered in the first round didn't arrive. Problems with the tablet cost us a lot of time. Here you have 2 hours for 8 rounds of 5 items each... whether it's sushi, salads, grilled skewers or other delicacies. The freshness is convincing right up to dessert. One point deducted from the service because unfortunately we were often noticed but ignored or forgotten. For example, with the problem with the tablet. The ambience itself is chic and appropriate... but there is hardly any space to get between the tables and if you want you can follow other people's private conversations without any problems. Unfortunately everything is pretty cramped. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend Akoya thanks to the delicious food 👍🏼

Worst buffet ever, very overpriced and food options is limited, dry and stale. Do NOT come, you WILL regret. Drinks are not included in the buffet and overpriced. Absolute scam of a restaurant. Restaurant staff are tired and annoyed of customers and wish they could stop working here.

Staff very unfriendly. It was my first time there and I was greeted and treated very unfriendly. When we were eating we were constantly looked at strangely. When we asked for something to be served she looked at us angrily and finally gave us one. I'll never go here again too unfriendly. NOT RECOMMENDED

I've been there twice and the food was very tasty both times. The problem was that out of the 5 people who ate the food on both occasions, 4 people were sick the night after. I would really like to recommend the place because the service was good and the food was delicious, and maybe we were just unlucky, but it was probably the last time I went there after the experience the night after.

The service was completely bad. There was only one small slice of ginger. The table was piled up with plates and bowls and there was no time to clear it.

BOTH of our drinks were cleared away half full, nobody was motivated to clear anything away beforehand, the table was completely full of empty glasses and plates... the restaurant had 4 occupied tables at the time. In each order, 2-3 dishes were missing. The meat was hard and everything looked like it was left over from the day before, the kimchi and the shrimp were gray, so we decided not to eat it. The napkins were also torn away during the meal and not replaced. Unfortunately, Akoya has completely neglected it and for the price you can't get anything better away. Maybe you should also address the behavior of the employees or increase their salary so that there is more motivation and you don't have the feeling of not being welcome.

The food is very tasty. You can order 8 x 5 dishes. You can't really eat that much. The service is very good. It's a bit noisy in the surrounding area, but not disturbing.

Delicious sushi and small warm dishes. Good service. That was once! Went there with a friend yesterday at lunchtime, not too busy. It started with us wanting a separate tablet because we have different eating speeds, which forced us to order together because there is a 10-minute break after an order. This was rejected by the service as not feasible. Among the sushi variations there is a crunchy roll that used to be very good, but now it was a tough, cold thing. The passion fruit spritzer we ordered only had homeopathic aromas and was just a water spritzer. The espresso afterwards was definitely an impertinence and only had the same name as this drink. For me the restaurant is history, which is a shame.

Went to Akoya at the weekend for a long time. Since we didn't have a reservation, the waitress was in a bit of a bad mood. We got our seat and the tablet to order quite quickly. You have a total of 2 hours in which you can order 5 dishes in 8 rounds. After the first two rounds we noticed that some dishes simply didn't turn out. This got worse from round to round, so that after 2 hours we only had 5 rounds with warm dishes, over half of which never arrived at the table. The service staff was made aware of this in between, but that didn't help. At the end the woman also wanted us to pay the full amount, even though we had hardly eaten anything. After the boss was called and she just said “I don’t know anything, I can bring food now” they agreed on a voucher after some back and forth. After the rest was paid, the receipt flew into the middle of the table despite an outstretched hand with only a dirty look and absolutely disrespectful behavior. This was DEFINITELY the last visit to Akoya, and I would recommend everyone to avoid this place and find a decent all you can eat place. Ordering via tablet isn't worth it, the taste of the food isn't a sensation, it's more in the lower segment, and the service is absolutely horrible and unfriendly.

Nice restaurant with an ordering system via iPads on the tables. Ordering works very well and the orders come to the table quickly. In terms of quality, the sushi in particular cannot compete with “real” sushi restaurants, where the sushi is freshly prepared. Other dishes were more convincing. The All u can eat is limited to 8 orders with 5 (mini) dishes each. That's clearly enough to fill you up, but it's not really "all" you can eat. In terms of price, the whole thing isn't exactly cheap at almost €30 per person - although drinks are of course not included. Overall, visiting Akoya is a special experience and it's fun to try your way through the dishes. But there is still room for improvement in terms of quality.

He has a good attitude towards white people, but he is really like that towards Chinese people.

Bottomless! I reserved a table a week before Valentine's Day so I could take my girlfriend out... I arrive at the restaurant and unfortunately find out that no one has written down my reservation. When I talked to the waitress, no matter what I said, she always said: "No reserving 7 p.m. only 7:30 p.m." After I explained my situation to her, it obviously annoyed me a bit and the situation was now bad DID SHE JUST RUN AWAY AND GO CLEANING.... In general, I can understand that mistakes like this happen sometimes, but the fact that I didn't even get an apology really upsets me. All in all, I will never enter this store again.

We called them 10 times before leaving the house but they didn't answer the phone. As we left there was a very strict lady at the door. She said the store was full and left the store.

Unfortunately no longer recommended. Most of the service is not friendly. With all you can eat you get to eat what you didn't order. Meat not raw in places. Other dishes still half frozen. Were there for the first time today. The food is very good. The food was warm and the portions were sufficient. The service is friendly but somewhat inhibited and reserved due to language difficulties. The price is ok, the drinks are a bit too expensive. Still a clear recommendation. We will definitely come back despite the 30 km journey.

We went to AllYoucanEat yesterday and it was delicious. There are 8 rounds of 5 portions each that you can order. You can order every 10 minutes. 2 hours time. During the meal we always looked at what we would have next. Or after eating. Simply order via tablet. Food comes quickly. Nice service. We liked it. Only the tables are a bit narrow. But there's no reason not to come back and we'll definitely do that.

Very tasty food. My favorites are of course the sushi variations. You can also get meat and salad there. Dessert was also very tasty. We've never made it to Round 8/8 at AllYouCanEat.

The Akoya Sushi & Grill restaurant is highly recommended! The all-you-can-eat concept via tablet makes ordering easy and convenient. The food is served quickly and fresh, which creates a great atmosphere. The food is delicious, the quality of the ingredients is impressive, and the selection is impressive - from sushi to hot dishes to desserts, there is something for everyone. Particularly noteworthy is the friendly staff, who are always attentive and helpful. Another plus point is the price-performance ratio: the buffet is cheaper in the morning than in the evening, but there is a slightly smaller selection during the day, which is still completely sufficient. Akoya is a real highlight for lovers of sushi and Asian specialties - I've been a regular for a long time.

Good food at a fair price. All-you-can-eat is implemented here with an iPad ordering system, which in my opinion seems much more high-quality than a buffet.

Unfortunately, the quality has never been massively lost again over the years... Sushi completely full of rice with a hint of fish just as an example... The remaining dishes were an imposition. I never want to badmouth anyone, but if you want to take advantage of the win all you can eat offer, it's different everywhere better off.

So service wise it's quite good because one of them is very nice and fast. Ordering system also works. So now to the bad part, unfortunately the food. Sushi was bought ready-made from Gott from Rewe. Food wasn't regularly fresh and meat and everything else wasn't seasoned at all lol. And every second dish has sweet and sour on it. Unfortunately, hearty food is not the strong point here ahahahahahah. But the buttermilk is king and ice cream is of course awesome

Lunch in the restaurant. Menu only with ready-made combinations, no detailed menu to be able to choose individual dishes - a shame. Unfortunately, eating was not recommended, sushi from the fridge instead of freshly prepared - that's actually not possible (especially with sushi/maki that should be crispy because it's fried when it's cold in the fridge, it just doesn't taste good anymore). Ambiance is ok, really quite Chinese. I won't visit again.

With all you can eat, the ordering process is very easy and works well. Only problem: The food is far from good. Sushi initially consists of 70% rice, and the trend increases with each subsequent round... Sauces and breading are used so generously that it's not the satiety that makes you sick, but the fat and sugar. Anyone who has ever eaten reasonably good sushi will have the horror. Rewe To-Go sushi lovers could barely cope with this. Overall, a good concept with the right ambience, now all that's left to do is make the food taste good ;)

Never again!!!!!!! I had high expectations for my visit to this all-you-can-eat restaurant, but was unfortunately disappointed. The selection of food was limited and the quality left a lot to be desired. Many of the dishes tasted bland and were not freshly prepared. The sushi was dry and the Asian dishes were often cold and unseasoned. Chicken balls were absolutely horrible, let alone the beef fillet pieces like 10 year old tires. The service was also unsatisfactory. The service was inattentive and we had to wait a long time for our drinks. In addition, the cleanliness in the restaurant was poor - dirty tables and dirty dishes didn't exactly contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. For the price I expected much more. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not eat here again.

Ambience is quite okay. Some of the dishes are tasteless and do not come as what they are described as. The grilled squid is not grilled. The images on the tablet are very unsightly. So there is still a lot that can be improved here.

All you can eat with a tablet sounds good at first: no crowds, better quality and no waste. But in practice the price-performance ratio is not right. On the one hand, you are only allowed to sit for 2 hours, but you can only order every 10 minutes and then the food arrives with a delay. Sometimes not at all. That's why you order more food, which may not taste good. Since you are penalized if you don't eat, the father of the family is allowed to choke down the children's 10 vegetarian sushi and noodles with eggs at the end. Of course, drinks cost a lot extra.

Price/performance fits. Unfortunately, the beef is a bit tough for the third time - not a recommendation. Otherwise, fast service and cleanliness.

Unfortunately no decent vegan options with tofu on the menu. Otherwise only dishes with vegetables for vegetarians/vegans. This is a shame because of the many uses of tofu in various dishes. The waitress looked at me in shock after I asked if you could put tofu in the sushi.

Service underground. We came in, sat down and were asked if we wanted the all you can eat. two wanted it and two wanted the normal card. Nowhere did it say that the normal card doesn't work. We had to discuss it for 20 minutes until it was okay for us to do it that way. Then the prices on the menu were increased and we were shouted at. Food was okay but nothing special. First of all, it should be mentioned that this review refers to subjective impressions and experiences and I have not seen the kitchen or the preparation, but we go out regularly and have high-quality Asian food. Which brings with it a certain amount of previous experience in good cuisine. We've eaten there several times over the years because we just wanted to give the place a chance, but the quality fluctuated each time, from "quite okay" to "really good." But our visit yesterday was just "absolutely bad." - Sushi seemed like it had been prepared ahead of time, was slightly dried out and definitely not fresh... - Gray broth came out of the mushrooms we ordered, either because they weren't fresh or they weren't cleaned properly before processing. - In general, all grilled foods, from meat to vegetables, all tasted the same, as if the grill surface had not been cleaned once between meals. - The chicken balls that were made from minced meat were still RAW inside!!!! - the sesame balls weren't fried long enough and were just soggy - The service delivers the individual plates with the table notes IN the dish and then removes them from the sauce or other ingredients beforehand. Aside from the fact that I don't want any pieces of paper left in my food, the waiter also fingers around in said food every time I fish it out. - Some portions have recently had coriander in the dish, but this is not declared in the menu, which is unfavorable for me because I am part of the population for whom coriander tastes like soap. I wanted to kindly point out to the service that this should be declared in the menu in the future, but they didn't understand a word. People didn't even know what "cilantro" was. In short, I haven't been as disgusted by a visit to a restaurant in a long time as I was here, so I stopped eating early and left. Unfortunately, the larger selection of dishes cannot hide the poor quality. And the increased price on the weekend of €30 per person is just audacious considering the bad food. Unfortunately that was our last visit and we prefer other restaurants again.

Absolutely recommended. Modern Asian restaurant, you order with a tablet that stays at the table so you can reorder at any time. Within a very short time, small bowls with various delicacies arrive. Very good value for money!

Well, I had something completely different in mind for a 4 star restaurant. The restaurant was almost empty, there were maybe 4 other tables occupied and the free tables had no reservations and that says a lot about a restaurant. The service was also just so-so. First of all, the menu, if you can even call it that, was just carelessly thrown laminated sheets of paper. Then if you don't take all you can eat, there are only large portions. I ordered sushi, which was ok, but the kimchi on the side was completely watery and bland. We were only told that the cash register was broken after we had already received our food and started. At the end, when we paid, we didn't get a receipt and she left immediately without saying goodbye or anything. If you ask me, it smells a lot like "I'll pocket the money myself" taxes who?? 🤯🤑

Not good food, several dishes I didn't want to eat after trying them. Duck is just tough and old, chicken balls that don't taste like chicken. The butterfish gave me an unpleasant burning feeling in my mouth, as did my companion. The rice in the sushi is not really fresh. It's reminiscent of the sushi you get in the discount supermarket, maybe a little better. The only thing you get here is a bunch of food. More than you can ever eat. I won't come here to eat again.

First and last time at AKOYA Karlsruhe. I honestly don't know where to start. I've never had to think about what's worse in a restaurant. The food or the staff. Let's start with the harmless things. An unfriendly woman, with no ambition to work, who first emptied our cola across the table without apologizing, let alone cleaning up the mess. The food was the culinary highlight or low point. Sushi that I could swear I've had at the Penny around the corner. “Beef fillet” where they probably accidentally fried an old shoe sole. Chicken that was so firm it almost bent my fork, and fish that makes me wonder if I'll have to go to the hospital tomorrow for food poisoning. I'm currently sitting here at the table and am currently googling whether I actually have to pay for food of such poor quality. All in all, today was definitely an experience, a terrible experience. I wish everyone who eats here a good immune system.

It was our first time eating sushi. Ambience and food were good. Explanation about ordering via tablet was good. Service rarely came but was always friendly. Something didn't fit once when ordering, but it was manageable. We will eat sushi again, but there are still several offers to discover in Karlsruhe. The highlight was the nighttime walk through the nearby park. 😉

What can I say, it was just a disaster and not worth the money. I can only recommend you not to eat there. Sushi was soggy like it had been sitting there for hours. When I bit into the "meat" I felt sick and that almost never happens. It ruined my whole evening. Bottom line: never again

Unfortunately the taste was very bad. The quality of sushi is on the same level as ready-made sushi from Aldi or Lidl. Sticky, soft-boiled rice. Some of the sushi were not cut properly, so you would have to laboriously separate one from the other. Service was unfriendly. A plus point for quickly clearing plates. Unfortunately the visit was a flop. This restaurant has nothing in common with Japanese cuisine. Also left an unclean impression.

Overall good. It would be nice to have more Japanese specialties on the menu, not just sushi. But it tastes good and there is definitely enough time to get full.

Sushi was okay, the selection could actually be bigger. The all you can eat sushi is not a real all you can eat. 8 orders in which a maximum of 5 items per person can be ordered. You can also only order every 10 minutes. It's disadvantageous if you want to try some food towards the end but don't want to order 5 things because you don't know how much more you can manage. Because an entire order is deducted for two items. Pictures of the dishes could also be more appealing, some names are misleading - summer roll with shrimp, there is just a shrimp next to it and the summer roll is filled with various vegetables. Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding when explaining why we only ordered 5 things on the first order even though we could have ordered 10. When we spoke to the waitress we thought the order might be canceled, she just said we had misunderstood it. Since we were so full at the end, it was okay, but for someone who eats more and would have liked to try more things, it was annoying. Service was otherwise friendly. There was a toilet with changing facilities. It was very warm in the restaurant, if there is no climate it might not be so pleasant in summer.

What annoys me is not the exorbitant price of €28 on a Sunday afternoon. But ask yourself why the store was completely empty even though everyone was outside! Oooor this stressful countdown of 2 hours counting down, which makes me wonder what happens if you overdraw, will they throw you out?! It's also not annoying to have these children's portions that are served round after round and in the meantime you get full from waiting, which is good and healthy, but is not the plan for the price. The pictures on the tablet were also taken extremely carelessly, for €28 I expect the sushi to look like it was filtered with background editing etc.! No, what's actually annoying is that according to Google it's supposed to be a 4 out of 5 star rating restaurant and you trust that you visit it and it's actually a 2.5 or at most 3 out of 5 star rating restaurant and the All You Can Eat offer, is rather clear, mediocre and you will be negatively surprised. It's not a 1 star restaurant either, but I'll have to rate it that way now to bring the average back down to earth, because there's a lot of room for improvement!! The most important tip if you're already portioning out all-you-can-eat , so that A) you don't throw away so much (although you would have to pay extra for it if that happens more often and you return uneaten plates😱) and B) you save a lot of money if you portion it out, then you should also feel the price, because if I drive just 500 meters further I get an all you can eat in the classic style with the disposable version at that price and also cheaper and another 25 minutes drive for 34€ all you can eat and DRINK!‼️🫨🫨 🫨 I still made €35 off drinks with you. If that means you definitely have to change something in the price, then there would be more going on!

I wouldn't recommend you to eat here, unfortunately the lady who served us wasn't very friendly, but that's her problem, we went there because of the food, unfortunately I've had such a bad stomach ache ever since I ate there and nausea. Unfortunately, the food was really very bad, the sushi and the vegetarian gyoza were inedible. Unfortunately, the gyoza had a slightly putrid smell and taste. My husband's beef skewers were not cooked through. I would recommend you to look for another restaurant

Very fast and friendly service. The all-you-van-eat offering is very extensive and we order via tablet. You just have to wait a long time for your order. Simple sushi in all variations, also suitable for vegetarians and children.

Always delicious food and lots of choice, the iPad Buffet is a great concept. I don't think there was anything on the menu that I didn't like. I would recommend to everyone.

If you're hungry and like Asian food, this is a great place to go. You sit down, get your tablet and can order. Your first orders will come to your table within the next few minutes, I think it's just great, the prices are also moderate. Definitely a thumbs up from me👍🏼

We had the all-you-can-eat, which in my opinion was a great idea as to how it is done at Akoya. Everyone can order 5 “dishes” per round, with everything from salad to dessert, sushi, meat, fish, seafood, etc. being called a “dish”. Each round is prepared very quickly and freshly and served in small bowls and platters. You can order a total of 8 rounds. Orders are made via a tablet that remains at the table, so you can always order the next round without having to wait for the waiter. The empty bowls and plates are usually cleared away with the next “delivery”. Here you can try everything that you don't know yet or aren't sure whether you like it, because the many small bowls and plates mean that everyone at the table can try everything that you usually don't do with a normal "plate meal".

one of the worst things I have ever seen, the workers are super rude, we asked them for a little more wasabi and they almost threw it at us and very reluctantly they gave it to us, the food is of very very low quality, the price is quite expensive, it is not worth it, and when paying the waitress threw the ticket at me on the food, one of the worst places, not at all recommended.

A wonderful idea for all-you-can-eat. You can access a large part of the map via the tablet (which you order with). Each round (dinner) each person orders up to 5 small dishes. There are up to 8 rounds in a maximum of 2 hours (order time). My recommendation for the ordering strategy per round before dessert: - two small starters (e.g. edamame, ...) - two dishes - a side dish (rice, noodles, etc.) And take your time, two hours is long enough - you just shouldn't lose sight of the time between rounds (10 minute time limit). 😉 Current tip: There is still a 20% discount on all-you-can-eat until March 26th, 2024.

Simply the best place to go in Karlsruhe

The price of all you can eat is not cheap. You can order only 10 items from the menu every 10 minutes up to a maximum of 8 times. The starters are very small but the main courses are somewhat larger. The food was mostly cold. For the price you can eat a lot but the quality of the food is not good. It's not a bad place but in my opinion it's not worth what it costs.

We went there on a Sunday night, so it was quite expensive. I don't eat much so usually going to a buffet is really not worth it for me but the big benefit is that you can try so so many different things, you don't have to order a lot of one meal and be stuck with that. And the selection was really large. Ordering with the iPads also made it really easy, you didn't even have to stand up from your table. (Of course you also didn't get to see what you're getting before it arrives at your table, the pictures on the tablet are very small and don't depict the item too accurately and portion sizes were also a real guessing game) The service was great, less than ten minutes after we ordered our first round they already brought stuff out, there waiters were constantly passing by and taking our empty dishes with them and bringing new ones. The food also tasted yummy, typical Chinese buffet. In the end we were only able to order 3/8 rounds and didn't even order the allowed number of 10 dishes per round. I was very disappointed however, that they didn't offer baked bananas (or baked pineapple) as a dessert. They only had sesame balls, a fried pumpkin cake, various other cakes (Bienenstich, chocolate etc.), fruit and ice cream for dessert. The food is good and it arrives very quickly, in theory you're allowed to order a lot but it is way too expensive for me. They could make it 5€-10€ cheaper p.P. and would still be making more than enough profit and I would come here way more often.

We used to eat here very often, but unfortunately not recently. Quality has declined. It wasn't fillet, lamb was roasted to death. The tablet was stuck until we noticed that 20 minutes had passed. And you can only eat there for 2 hours at the buffet... The waitresses were very unfriendly. When we asked for a napkin or a fork we were looked at as if we had done something wrong. Price now 28 euros per person. Once a year that's ok, but not for comfortable and good food, sorry

Food was good, but there was so much going on that I found it a bit uncomfortable.

The concept of ordering via app without having to wait is very pleasant. You can see what you have already ordered and the little bowls with the delicious things almost always come quickly. The 2 hours are sufficient for the 8 rounds that can be ordered. You almost can't manage to eat that much. Everything was served quite attractively on different plates and bowls. Except for the shrimp, there were no compromises that evening. Unfortunately, the shrimps were a bit poorly cleaned and tasted accordingly…. Otherwise everything is clean and served quickly and friendly.

Food usually tastes good. You just have to make sure that what you ordered comes and not the wrong things

Mega delicious food. The “all you can eat” is really fun and you can try a lot of dishes. A special recommendation are the fried champions and the strawberry cake. I was very excited!!
