Located in a residential area near Karlsruhe City Park, surrounded by office buildings, the overall environment is quiet and orderly. 🚗 There's a row of street parking spaces directly opposite the restaurant. Parking is a bit tight during the day, but almost always available at night, making it very convenient for drivers. 🏠 Large glass facade, excellent natural light, and a well-designed seating layout. The indoor and outdoor areas are clearly separated, with ample seating, and rarely a wait even during peak hours. 📲 Although it's called a sushi restaurant, it leans more towards a "new way of eating Japanese food in a Chinese style." The ordering system uses an iPad, allowing for 8 rounds of orders. I visited this restaurant with a friend for the buffet experience. We’re both Chinese, and the servers who interacted with us were also Chinese. However, we were disappointed by the casual and unprofessional attitude shown toward us throughout our visit. From the start, the staff addressed us informally as “classmates” in Chinese, without any polite greeting or standard customer service tone. It felt dismissive and overly familiar, as if we weren’t guests but simply people they could speak to however they liked. The restaurant uses automated robots to deliver food, and since it’s a buffet with many small dishes, I would sometimes place my empty plates on the robot trays to help clear the table. The staff rarely came around to collect plates, so this felt like a reasonable and considerate thing to do. However, after initially offering a polite correction, the servers soon became visibly impatient with the speed at which I confirmed the delivery—repeatedly expressing dissatisfaction in a blunt and critical tone, as if I were disrupting the restaurant’s operations. While the food itself was fine, the service made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Being spoken to in such an impatient and dismissive way, especially by someone who shares our cultural background, was disappointing. Every guest deserves to be treated with the same level of respect and professionalism, regardless of ethnicity or perceived familiarity.

We received a very warm welcome and were well looked after. The large windows create a bright and inviting atmosphere. You order your food on a tray, and it arrives quickly, either by a server or a serving robot. An unusual concept that especially appeals to and delights children. It's certainly something different. The food was okay. Nothing special. You can get better for the price. The service was terrible; everyone except one waitress (who wasn't Asian) was very rude. You couldn't say anything to them. They were obviously talking across our table the whole time and giving us strange looks. I don't know why. We were there for a birthday, and the people at the next table were also celebrating a birthday. A robot brought a birthday cocktail with a candle to the table next to ours. We wanted to order the same thing, but she didn't hear us at all and just said, "No, the robot's gone." Even though it was still driving around the restaurant. Just one example of the bad service. I won't go back and wouldn't recommend it. The table was full of empty plates, and it took them ages to clear them away. I had to edit the review because I forgot to mention: one of the dishes also arrived with a piece of hair in it 😋

Let's start with the good aspects: a cool atmosphere, not too loud, and nicely designed. Unfortunately, this is also where the advantages come to an abrupt end. Ordering had many rules: you could only order for two hours, and you had a total of eight rounds of ordering, with a maximum of five dishes per person. You selected everything on a tablet, and after three to twenty minutes, everything you ordered in that round arrived. The selected items came either individually, as a portion for two, or, as with the gyozas, in portions of four. I came for a good friend's birthday and was very disappointed! What should have been a nice evening was unfortunately overshadowed by the poor service. The waitress barely spoke German, which bothered us a lot when we complained about the missing dishes. Furthermore, the maître d' was extremely rude to us and wouldn't allow us to use the robot to bring the drink we had already purchased to the birthday boy! We came here to compare the food with the other all-you-can-eat restaurant in Karlsruhe and can now say that the other one is just as good, but 30% cheaper. We paid €27.90 per person, and soft drinks (0.4L) cost €4.50. With improved service and more relaxed rules, this restaurant could become a highly recommended place. Unfortunately, it isn't at the moment.

After years, I wanted to visit Akoya again, which I did. Right at the beginning, a woman behaved very strangely, along the lines of, "What do you want here?" I was briefly overwhelmed, as I hadn't expected such a reaction. What I find very unfortunate is that you are shown where to sit. As a customer, I want to decide for myself where I want to sit, perhaps because of the view outside or because I don't want to sit in the middle where there are lots of people. Nevertheless, we let ourselves be shown to our table. The woman explained to us how it all worked. While I didn't understand everything, I already knew from past experiences how to order. As for the food, the Chinese noodles were tasteless; it tasted more like pan-fried food, with no flavor or anything special. The lamb skewer tasted disgusting and very dry, which is why we didn't eat any more. Unfortunately, this will be the last time we eat at Akoya.

Six of us were here and tried the all-you-can-eat option. You order with a tablet, and the food is delivered to your table by a robot or an employee. The staff weren't very friendly, unfortunately, but the atmosphere in the shop was good, and the restaurant is decorated with great attention to detail. But now for the most important thing: the food. The selection is very large for an all-you-can-eat buffet. There's grilled meat, mussels, various fish dishes, cakes, ice cream, sushi, and much more. I've eaten at other all-you-can-eat restaurants many times, but the selection here really impressed me. The quality of the food is average. The sushi and appetizers are good. I especially loved the gyozas! Some of the meat is very tough and simply dry. All in all, we had a nice evening. I think you can try the restaurant and form your own opinion, as the reviews here vary quite a bit. But you'll probably find a better option for all-you-can-eat sushi in Karlsruhe.

I often go to all-you-can-eat restaurants. And unfortunately, this one is a bit of a bad one for me. The food is just okay, but the sushi selection isn't as extensive as at other restaurants (everything else is plentiful here). They only served soy sauce with alcohol (all the other restaurants serve it without alcohol). The staff weren't particularly friendly. Unfortunately, it was a rather bad experience. The food came quickly. You could spend €70 for two people elsewhere and get friendlier service and tastier food with a wider selection of sushi.

There was a large selection of sushi, appetizers, grilled dishes, soups, salads, desserts, etc. – you simply order via tablet. We've visited several times in the past and were satisfied. We were there yesterday and were shocked. It's unbelievable how rude the service is. I can't understand how unfriendly people can be. We were super nice and left a tip at the end. The waitress threw the remaining change into her wallet and left in a bad mood without anything. Our food and drinks were thrown on our table every time, which made us feel very uncomfortable. Our questions weren't answered. And the quality leaves a lot to be desired. I've wanted to eat there for years but never had the time. I drove almost 50 km for junk! We love eating sushi there but the sushi is awful and not fresh. The roll is half loose, you order food and then a robot comes and stops at other tables. Disgusting food, no protection from spit etc. On top of that, it's very dirty and hasn't even been cleaned while we were there! The warm food was much better, seven and a half sushis, however, all three of us had diarrhea when we got home! 100 euros wasted! I would always recommend eating in a restaurant or an all you can eat restaurant instead of going there.

My wife, my sister-in-law, and her husband and I went there for dinner. It took an hour to get there and we wanted to relax and unwind. The food was okay, as was the atmosphere. However, the service was absolutely terrible. Towards the end, at 10:40 p.m., they came up to us and told us to leave because they were closing. We replied that the sign said they were open Monday to Saturday until 11:30 p.m., but they said no, it was only on weekends. It's a shame!

I went there for the first time today with my husband, my cousin, and her husband. We found it online and wanted to try out the tablet system. (It's a one-hour drive.) The ambiance inside was very nice, but the rest was unfortunately unsatisfactory... The photos of the dishes are either completely unappealing or blurry, or you can't even tell what it actually is from the name. The selection of dishes is very limited, and there are only a few options that seem truly appealing. I paid about €65 for two people and was overall quite dissatisfied. Especially since we were kicked out at 10:40 PM with the explanation that they were closing. So we were there for lunch, and I think it was terrible. The service was good, but that's it. The food comes very quickly, but then you have to ask yourself how long it's been sitting there. And that's how it tastes. Many dishes are missing from the lunch menu, like wakame or avocado maki. And the sushi is also inedible. It's not fresh, and you can tell it's been sitting there for a while. The chicken dishes were okay, though. Dessert is nothing special. For the price at lunch, around €17, it's OK. But being robbed for €6.50 for a bottle of still water is pretty painful. As far as I know, dinner costs around €25, and I would definitely not go back. A few years ago, this restaurant was very good; now, unfortunately, it's inedible!

Lunch with colleagues Ordering via iPad, 8 servings and (in our case) 8 orders per person. If you don't eat something or send it back, you pay 1 or 2 euros per "unit," which I don't think is bad. The quality is mediocre; the plastic plates on which the appetizers/units were served bothered me. I was also not entirely sure that the pictures when ordering sometimes looked different than what was actually served, and I didn't really know how many appetizers were in each unit. Instead of 2 dumplings (gyoza), I suddenly had 6 or 8 in front of me, which weren't particularly good. The concept isn't bad, but in my opinion, a bit too complex or uninspiring for a casual meal. The quality of the food was rather mediocre, but OK. The ambiance was more like a train station concourse, and I didn't like it. In the end, I paid 25 euros for a lunch menu (AYCE) with 0.5 liters of water. Just within the limits, it definitely wasn't worth more than that.

The table we were seated at was dirty and not cleared. The tablet ordering system is a good idea in itself, but unfortunately, the implementation is very poor. The photos of the dishes are either completely unappealing, blurry, or, for about 30% of the dishes, nonexistent – ​​often, you can't even tell what it is from the name. The selection of dishes is very limited, and there are only a few options that look particularly appealing. The rice clearly showed that it had been prepared for a long time – it was hard and dry. Food was subpar. I know it was an all you can eat buffet but the food lacked flavor and salt and the beef/steak was extremely tough. The shrimp was watery and the steam pieces were tough, but they also seemed to be cut with the grain instead of against it, so it was super chewy. Wait staff didnt speak german. One waitress spoke broken german at best, which was super difficult when she explained the iPad ordering. Also, this might be kind of petty, but they were extremely stingy with the napkins. This proved to be a bigger issue because none of the shrimp was shelled and your fingers got pretty messy after having to shell all the shrimp. Also, quick note for allergy for sufferers, the fried sushi, which contains chicken also contain avocado, but this was not listed on the ingredients list. Braised beef was ok but also dry. Lamb chop was probably the best menu item

A truly disappointing visit. We went there for the all-you-can-eat sushi – and that was unfortunately a huge mistake. The quality of the food was abysmal: the fish tasted old, the rice was mushy, and much of it was simply inedible. We felt sick for hours after eating – and that's unfortunately no coincidence; it clearly speaks volumes about the questionable freshness and quality of the ingredients. The only positive thing: the staff were friendly, the service was fast, and the ambiance was okay. But that unfortunately doesn't salvage the overall impression in the slightest. If you don't want to risk your health or your appetite, you should avoid this restaurant.

I've been there several times. The selection is large and the concept is clever. The food arrives hot at the table. Unfortunately, everything only comes with sweet and sour sauce. Choosing a sauce isn't possible or costs extra. It's a bit of a shame. The number of rounds and 5 tokens per round are nice. Unfortunately, if several people at the table order the same thing in one round, everything comes on one plate. Beef is generally not recommended; it's usually tough. Chicken and duck are very tasty. All in all, a solid 4 stars. I can highly recommend it.

Very good quality sushi and all the other dishes were great too. Unfortunately, 3 items ordered in the first round didn't arrive. Problems with the tablet cost us a lot of time. Here you have 2 hours for 8 rounds of 5 items each... whether it's sushi, salads, grilled skewers or other delicacies. The freshness is convincing right up to dessert. One point deducted from the service because unfortunately we were often noticed but ignored or forgotten. For example, with the problem with the tablet. The ambience itself is chic and appropriate... but there is hardly any space to get between the tables and if you want you can follow other people's private conversations without any problems. Unfortunately everything is pretty cramped. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend Akoya thanks to the delicious food 👍🏼

Staff very unfriendly. It was my first time there and I was greeted and treated very unfriendly. When we were eating we were constantly looked at strangely. When we asked for something to be served she looked at us angrily and finally gave us one. I'll never go here again too unfriendly. NOT RECOMMENDED

I've been there twice and the food was very tasty both times. The problem was that out of the 5 people who ate the food on both occasions, 4 people were sick the night after. I would really like to recommend the place because the service was good and the food was delicious, and maybe we were just unlucky, but it was probably the last time I went there after the experience the night after.

BOTH of our drinks were cleared away half full, nobody was motivated to clear anything away beforehand, the table was completely full of empty glasses and plates... the restaurant had 4 occupied tables at the time. In each order, 2-3 dishes were missing. The meat was hard and everything looked like it was left over from the day before, the kimchi and the shrimp were gray, so we decided not to eat it. The napkins were also torn away during the meal and not replaced. Unfortunately, Akoya has completely neglected it and for the price you can't get anything better away. Maybe you should also address the behavior of the employees or increase their salary so that there is more motivation and you don't have the feeling of not being welcome.

Delicious sushi and small warm dishes. Good service. That was once! Went there with a friend yesterday at lunchtime, not too busy. It started with us wanting a separate tablet because we have different eating speeds, which forced us to order together because there is a 10-minute break after an order. This was rejected by the service as not feasible. Among the sushi variations there is a crunchy roll that used to be very good, but now it was a tough, cold thing. The passion fruit spritzer we ordered only had homeopathic aromas and was just a water spritzer. The espresso afterwards was definitely an impertinence and only had the same name as this drink. For me the restaurant is history, which is a shame.

Went to Akoya at the weekend for a long time. Since we didn't have a reservation, the waitress was in a bit of a bad mood. We got our seat and the tablet to order quite quickly. You have a total of 2 hours in which you can order 5 dishes in 8 rounds. After the first two rounds we noticed that some dishes simply didn't turn out. This got worse from round to round, so that after 2 hours we only had 5 rounds with warm dishes, over half of which never arrived at the table. The service staff was made aware of this in between, but that didn't help. At the end the woman also wanted us to pay the full amount, even though we had hardly eaten anything. After the boss was called and she just said “I don’t know anything, I can bring food now” they agreed on a voucher after some back and forth. After the rest was paid, the receipt flew into the middle of the table despite an outstretched hand with only a dirty look and absolutely disrespectful behavior. This was DEFINITELY the last visit to Akoya, and I would recommend everyone to avoid this place and find a decent all you can eat place. Ordering via tablet isn't worth it, the taste of the food isn't a sensation, it's more in the lower segment, and the service is absolutely horrible and unfriendly.

Nice restaurant with an ordering system via iPads on the tables. Ordering works very well and the orders come to the table quickly. In terms of quality, the sushi in particular cannot compete with “real” sushi restaurants, where the sushi is freshly prepared. Other dishes were more convincing. The All u can eat is limited to 8 orders with 5 (mini) dishes each. That's clearly enough to fill you up, but it's not really "all" you can eat. In terms of price, the whole thing isn't exactly cheap at almost €30 per person - although drinks are of course not included. Overall, visiting Akoya is a special experience and it's fun to try your way through the dishes. But there is still room for improvement in terms of quality.

Bottomless! I reserved a table a week before Valentine's Day so I could take my girlfriend out... I arrive at the restaurant and unfortunately find out that no one has written down my reservation. When I talked to the waitress, no matter what I said, she always said: "No reserving 7 p.m. only 7:30 p.m." After I explained my situation to her, it obviously annoyed me a bit and the situation was now bad DID SHE JUST RUN AWAY AND GO CLEANING.... In general, I can understand that mistakes like this happen sometimes, but the fact that I didn't even get an apology really upsets me. All in all, I will never enter this store again.

Unfortunately no longer recommended. Most of the service is not friendly. With all you can eat you get to eat what you didn't order. Meat not raw in places. Other dishes still half frozen. There are leftover food and receipts everywhere on the floor. The tables aren't really clean either It's a real shame, I always enjoy being there

We went to AllYoucanEat yesterday and it was delicious. There are 8 rounds of 5 portions each that you can order. You can order every 10 minutes. 2 hours time. During the meal we always looked at what we would have next. Or after eating. Simply order via tablet. Food comes quickly. Nice service. We liked it. Only the tables are a bit narrow. But there's no reason not to come back and we'll definitely do that.

The Akoya Sushi & Grill restaurant is highly recommended! The all-you-can-eat concept via tablet makes ordering easy and convenient. The food is served quickly and fresh, which creates a great atmosphere. The food is delicious, the quality of the ingredients is impressive, and the selection is impressive - from sushi to hot dishes to desserts, there is something for everyone. Particularly noteworthy is the friendly staff, who are always attentive and helpful. Another plus point is the price-performance ratio: the buffet is cheaper in the morning than in the evening, but there is a slightly smaller selection during the day, which is still completely sufficient. Akoya is a real highlight for lovers of sushi and Asian specialties - I've been a regular for a long time.

Unfortunately, the quality has never been massively lost again over the years... Sushi completely full of rice with a hint of fish just as an example... The remaining dishes were an imposition. I never want to badmouth anyone, but if you want to take advantage of the win all you can eat offer, it's different everywhere better off.

So service wise it's quite good because one of them is very nice and fast. Ordering system also works. So now to the bad part, unfortunately the food. Sushi was bought ready-made from Gott from Rewe. Food wasn't regularly fresh and meat and everything else wasn't seasoned at all lol. And every second dish has sweet and sour on it. Unfortunately, hearty food is not the strong point here ahahahahahah. But the buttermilk is king and ice cream is of course awesome

Lunch in the restaurant. Menu only with ready-made combinations, no detailed menu to be able to choose individual dishes - a shame. Unfortunately, eating was not recommended, sushi from the fridge instead of freshly prepared - that's actually not possible (especially with sushi/maki that should be crispy because it's fried when it's cold in the fridge, it just doesn't taste good anymore). Ambiance is ok, really quite Chinese. I won't visit again.

I definitely don't recommend this sushi place! First, there's no one at the entrance to greet customers, and then no one comes to take our order (by the way, they only serve all-can-eat for around €27). So we had to ask the waitress, just like the table next to us, and then the food arrived, which actually tasted delicious. However, the portions for the soups, for example, are very small and the food is nothing special, but I would come back for the food. Also worth mentioning was the "unfriendliness" of the staff. You could see they were overworked. I would always go to a different sushi restaurant instead.

Unfortunately, it's extremely overpriced. Lao/Vietnamese dishes are served at exorbitant prices. The food tastes good, though. Service is rather lackluster.

It was my first time at Sushi Park and I think it's truly one of the best sushi restaurants in Karlsruhe. Highly recommended.
