Oh La Queca in Berlin

Loud, small, we sat right next to the door, which unfortunately doesn't close by itself. But since, as is to be expected in Neukölln, none of the guests entering closed the door behind them, so we were busy the whole time either closing the door ourselves or asking people to please close the door . Unfortunately, the food wasn't particularly good either, the (homemade) nachos were quite hard and either completely over-salted or completely without salt. The main courses weren't convincing either; everything tasted pretty uninspired. We didn't get the impression that high quality ingredients were used here. The service was quite nice - measured by Neukölln standards. But overall disappointing, we won't go there again. For the quality of the food, the prices were simply too high.

One star for Friendly staffs. -over priced: 0.2 Horchata for €4.2? One beef taco is €4.5???? Wtf -portion is really small -both salsa roja and verde have no flavor: adding some exaggeration, they were like colored and thickened water -different quesadillas have all same flavor: small size with cheese dominating, you taste no meats, cactus, or any other ingredients you chose. + when i see other reviews, obviously they gave us small quesadillas Never ever again.

Unfortunately the food is not very authentic Mexican (modified dishes). The service was very friendly, but everything in the kitchen was mixed up and forgotten. There is probably no written transmission of the order here. Ambiance is virtually non-existent. Could be much more comfortable.

Cool place to enjoy margaritas and tacos. Seems more like a bistro than a restaurant - but no bistro prices. From my point of view, they are fair, considering what is served in terms of product quality and taste. Crew is friendly. We got a seat outside at 5 p.m. on a Friday without a reservation, but it filled up very quickly.

The food isn‘t bad, but it isn‘t spicy at all. Even if you specifically ask for it, and they bring you the „especially spicy sauce“…. it‘s just bland. If you don‘t like spicy food, this is the right place for you. If you do, better go somewhere else. Also, be aware that one main dish will probably leave you still hungry (while being priced as if it was an actual main dish).

I've never written a bad review because tastes differ, people have bad days, things can go wrong. No problem at all. But this was by far the most unfriendly and brash service I have ever encountered and that too. Without a greeting of any kind, let alone a smile or an apology and in an extremely annoyed tone, we had to get up from our seat again because the table still had to be reset. OK. Made. So far unfriendly, but oh well. Then one plate was cleared away, we were not signaled that the time had come, of course, because taking a plate with you is not a reset and you don't have to get up to do it, or do you? From then on we were explicitly ignored for 10 minutes because the waitress saw us standing and walked past us, but with a consciously averted gaze; Nothing else happened at the table. What is that? Is that cool? This is simply ridiculous and certainly, contrary to self-perception, incredibly provincial. Here someone is confusing cosmopolitanism with incompetence and arrogance. This isn't a Berlin snout or "Berlin" in any way (and how embarrassing is it that you even have to write it like that), because despite all its harshness, there is something heartfelt and authentic about it. I would rather work myself 14 hours a day than have my great kitchen and my restaurant presented/represented in such a way. I can't understand why being such a fellow human being (and working in the catering industry) is also rewarded with a job. In fact, it seems to have happened to guests before us, so stay away from this place, every customer here seems to be subject to ridicule from the employees. Thank God there is enough choice in Berlin so that you don't have to put up with something like that.

I really like the food at this place because it has a great vegetarian and vegan variety and they also have political responsibility and you won't find avocado. The waiters are very nice. The quality-price ratio is the best you can find right now in Berlin.

Nice atmosphere, quiet side street. Service ignored us for a long time and was very abrupt. The food wasn't even partial (potatoes). The filling of the enchiladas in the vegetarian version consisted of almost raw, very inexpensive vegetables that were unseasoned. In addition, the portions were very small. The tortillas were floury. Only the green sauce tasted quite good. Honestly, you can do it better at home. Unfortunately disappointing and not worth the Insta hype. I won't go there again. It's a shame, I would have liked it differently.

The fact that the shop couldn't be reached by phone and that we couldn't make a reservation and therefore had to wait over an hour for a table was a gift. The fact that after we finally had a table we had to wait almost another 20 minutes to be able to order was a gift. The fact that the vegan selection seemed quite manageable to us: a matter of opinion. The fact that we had to wait another half an hour for our food after ordering was tiring. The portions were manageable. The food was good, but we didn’t necessarily “celebrate” it. When we wanted to pay, we were offered churros for dessert. Price for ONE CHURRO (not a portion. Quantity!) €3.50: quite sporty for a shop with plastic tablecloths. We ordered some anyway. However, during the waiting time of a good 20 minutes, the thought already manifested itself: you don't HAVE to go here a second time. In addition, the white wine served was tipped and not drinkable, which we informed the waitress and had it returned. It happens sometimes. However, a new one didn't come. But the vinegar wine was ultimately on the bill. Unfortunately it wasn't an accident but entirely intentional, as it turned out when we asked. The owner was of the opinion that the wine had only just been opened and therefore could not have been tipped. The fact that this statement alone does not lead the greatest wine connoisseur to assume: a gift. But if a guest returns something virtually untouched citing inedibility, AT LEAST a replacement will be offered. That a tipped wine is just collected and charged normally??? And you still have to get into a discussion because of that?? A NO GO! In retrospect, I really regret giving a tip. Never here again 🙈
