Enjoyed very tasty sea bream with fresh side dishes! The colleague had an excellent lasagna! Very busy at lunchtime. It tastes excellent and the service was very nice!

The service was hectic and slightly annoyed, which was certainly not our fault! Otherwise it was a nice evening with a nice atmosphere and good food!

Really recommended. I ate a Lassgne. And that's exactly how I imagine an original Italian lasagne. All other dishes (pizzas and pasta) looked very good and were said to have tasted good.

For me, a restaurant always has to measure itself against its own standards - and it doesn't fit here. The restaurant presents itself as an upscale Italian restaurant with correspondingly upscale prices, especially when it comes to drinks. We had a business lunch at Officina. To eat: We shared the starters. The carpaccio was boring, the vitello tonato was cut too thick and the tuna cream had a weak taste, the mixed vegetable platter was also rather small and boring, the bread was okay. So overall not a highlight. For the main course I had the sea bream fillets with rosemary potatoes and a side salad. The sea bream was very neutral, barely seasoned and overcooked in the oven. The rosemary potatoes were simple potato wedges cooked in the oven - unfortunately without rosemary. The salad was the best taste of the whole dish. Some of the other dishes looked good, for example the beef fillet or the pizza. Some items seemed random on the menu, such as a chicken curry or other Asian influences like pizza with tuna carpaccio and wasabi. About the service: The food and drinks always came quickly, but unfortunately they were served very carelessly and without charm - rather hectic. The service wasn't particularly attentive either. About the ambience: The restaurant is very bright, which I really liked. But here and there it doesn't seem consistent. The tables are closely spaced - at least on the first floor. It is very loud in the restaurant and the air was unfortunately very bad.

The food was good and served very quickly. The service was very friendly. However, the volume was far too loud and you couldn't have a conversation, so we decided not to have dessert.

Unfortunately expectations were not met. Reception was not customer friendly. The food was average, but the service was super nice. The ambience is nice, but way too loud. Pleasant conversation was not possible. Will not visit the restaurant again.

The ambience is quite unusual, but not created with much effort; it is probably an old factory hall. Partial dampness on the walls, which would cause any tenant to threaten a rent reduction. The service was great, the employees were quick, attentive and knew who the food and drinks belonged to, even without asking, if there were several people. The food was basically okay, but unfortunately it had already cooled down a bit or wasn't heated through properly and wasn't particularly attractively presented.

La dolce vita. You enter the restaurant via a main street and reach the backyard where it is located. Even from outside, the light radiates a coziness from the lighting. Once inside, you are impressed by the high room, which is hung with numerous ceiling lights. Long and small wooden tables with white chairs. Steel stairs take you to the second floor and you don't know where to look because of all the loving details. We felt A thousand photos were taken of the furnishings alone. Here an old coffee machine, old scales... there a huge, modern asparagus photograph. Absolutely impressive and cozy. The audience is completely relaxed because you actually feel like you're in a perfect living room. Everyone is relaxed. Even though everything is fully booked, the service is super helpful and deeply relaxed. A very good wine list, lovingly set table and excellent food. We were there with a larger group and tried a lot of things. From the starters to the dessert, everything had an Italian feeling. Perfect for a romantic dinner or with friends or family...We will definitely be back soon.

Wir waren mal wieder dort essen,das Saltimbocca war gut aber früher gab es drei kleine Kalbsschnitzel heute nur noch zwei,auch der Spinat sehr wenig,uns war die Portionsgröße nicht ausreichend,die Bierpreise 0,5 Ltr.6€ empfinde ich als zu teuer

Small shop in a backyard in Essen Rüttenscheid in a converted workshop. Service very nice. The best thing to eat is the foccacia, actually a pizza with a lot of cheese as a topping and the rocket salad. The pasta not quite as good.

If you're in the mood for good Italian food combined with an exceptional location, this is the place for you. Pizza and pasta are also worth it, as you sometimes forget how good both can taste 😀

We often order our favorite dishes because they are unbeatably delicious, but the other dishes we tried were also very tasty. You can tell that people work here with passion! Special praise goes to our waiter, who recognizes us every time and serves us so warmly and attentively. His charm and friendliness make every visit a special experience. As an Italian, I'm always very happy to be served by a fellow countryman - that gives the whole thing an extra bit of home feeling. Thank you, we'll always be happy to come back!

We had our Christmas party here. Everything was right! Perfect for anyone who wants to experience a wonderful evening with delicious food, good staff in a great atmosphere.

What an amazing restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious. There was a wide variety of dishes and all of them looked delicious. The staff was super friendly, and the service was very fast, we didn't have to wait long to get our dinner, even when it was quite busy when we arrived there. The atmosphere was cozy, and I felt happy being there. Would visit again without any doubt.

In a group of eight people we had various dishes, from pizza to spaghetti and Maultaschen to veal liver, all of which tasted very good. The service was attentive and quick. Although the restaurant was completely full, some with Christmas parties of 20 people, drinks and food arrived in no time. Only the acoustics weren't that pleasant due to the number of people. All in all, highly recommended if you are looking for something special and good, as the price is already in the higher range.

The service is incredibly good! The shop is always full, the food is great and the decoration in the shop is so beautiful, no one knows how they always manage it. Full marks. Actually you can't write it at all, it's getting more and more difficult to get a table.

We were particularly impressed by the Officina's lovingly furnished and tastefully decorated ambience. The harmonious design creates a cozy, inviting atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. The restaurant was also impressive in terms of cuisine: the pizza was crispy and well topped, the pasta was al dente, and the risotto was wonderfully creamy. The dessert was particularly positive and rounded off our menu perfectly. The service was attentive and the staff very friendly, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Overall, a wonderful experience in which the ambience, food and service are equally impressive!

Four of us were there on Saturday. The ambience is great. The prices are quite ambitious. The Pizza Napoletana was generously sized, too many olives for my taste, unfortunately stoned, and not enough anchovies and capers. In my opinion, the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms didn't have enough bite. The open wines are no longer inexpensive at €8 per glass, but are poured a little more generously.

One of the best Italians! Four of us visited on a Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. with a baby and we were very happy. The service was very friendly and accommodating and we were helped straight away to find a suitable table with the stroller. The atmosphere is great, you immediately feel at home and the food is delicious and very original. We'd love to come back.

Very good food. We didn't order pizza for a change. The ravioli with porcini mushroom filling and a sage sauce were incredibly tasty. I can also highly recommend the gnocchi with basil pesto. The service was very friendly. Full recommendation!

Came across it almost by accident as a cycling holidaymaker. Very nice, cool atmosphere. Very nice attentive service. And antipasti, pizza and pasta are almost rare.

The prices are not low but the food is worth every euro! Sitting in the beer garden is very comfortable and there is enough shade. We liked it and we will definitely come back!

A very special place for fans of Italian cuisine with an urban guest garden in the inner courtyard and a great ambience in the 2-story interior. All of this coupled with excellent service that was very attentive and polite. If you like Italian food and enjoy eating pizza with an excellent pizza dough that is left to rise for 72 hours in the Officina, you should definitely consider a visit there. We'll definitely be coming back soon.

Went there yesterday and sat in an idyllic backyard beer garden in the nice weather. I ate green asparagus with ham and sage butter from the daily menu... The hammer! It was soooo delicious 🤩🤩🤩 A decent portion as a starter. I could have saved myself the small side salad. It completely pales next to the delicious asparagus and I only took it because I thought the "starter" wouldn't be enough to satisfy my hunger. Friends had pizza and loved it too. No, overall a very pleasant restaurant with delicious Italian food. I will definitely come back and recommend it! P.S. The prices are high like they are everywhere now, even in "normal" restaurants, but if the quality, the taste, the ambience and also the care of the waiters (!!!!) are right, I'm happy to pay it 🫶❣️

A culinary delight! I love the atmosphere and the food. A very nice team and extremely friendly waiters. The starters are the real highlight for me. It's best to reserve a table! The store is always full!

What happened to you? The service is a disaster. The pizza doesn't taste good anymore and the pasta was terrible. All of us (5 people) were not satisfied with the starters and main courses.

The food is very tasty and came very quickly. The price-performance ratio is right. The service was prompt and quick; could work on your warmth though. The waiters seemed very arrogant and tight-lipped. Cleanliness also needs to be worked on. The tables were cleared very late and the men's toilet was heavily marked by human remains. A note to the staff was dismissed with the statement "we'll close soon and then the cleaning lady will come."

Iced tea was good, as was the pizza and the service was friendly. The dip with the bread was strange and some dishes are questionably expensive. Tiramisu is ok, but nothing more and the rocket pizza was oversalted with parmesan.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would be more then happy to do it. I don't think I have eaten somewhere else in Germany a more authentic Italian food and tasted better Cofee (which kept me awake the whole night). The place is on 2 levels and it also has a terrace. The service is impeccable. I will let let the pictures to speak for themself

This is a restaurant full of surprises! I'm surprised I'm pleasantly surprised!😍 The restaurant opens on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. We arrived at the opening and were surprised when the waiter asked if we had a reservation, even though the restaurant was empty and there were quite a few seats. At 6:30 p.m. we realized how good it was that we came to the opening, because people were constantly coming into the restaurant, even though the restaurant is located in a courtyard on a not very busy street in Essen. The restaurant has been around for a long time and the crowds are probably thanks to word of mouth because it is really tasty here. We ordered Burratina di Bufala, Bruschetta con Pomodorini, Tagliolini with Argentine wild shrimp & green asparagus and Tagliolini with Argentine shrimp and garlic in a tomato sauce and chili, martini and a bottle of water. The pasta was al dente as it should be, the sauces were tasty and there was no shortage of shrimp as is the case in many other places. The starters were also delicious. The kitchen even went to the trouble of buying different types of cherry tomatoes to go with the cheese or bruschettas. What was also surprising was the attentiveness of the staff, who came by regularly and served in the correct order, giving the menu to the lady first, pouring the water to the lady first and changing the cutlery to clean ones! Despite the good service, quite a large number of employees, large portions and pleasant interior, the prices are absolutely moderate. Despite living in Essen for many years, I somehow never came to this place, and now I have found an Italian restaurant that gives hope to the gastronomic sector in Germany. Of course I recommend it to everyone and will come here again.

Officina Restaurant is a hidden gem with friendly service and freshly prepared food. The extensive menu and cozy outdoor atmosphere are definitely pluses. We are thrilled and will definitely be back soon.

The ambience is good as always, but unfortunately the food is not. Pasta porcini mushrooms with cream was unfortunately very runny and had little taste. The only thing that was worse was the stomach pain of 3 of the 6 guests after eating. A dish came too late and was apparently forgotten.

A successful evening in the Officina restaurant. We felt welcome from the start and had an excellent meal in this wonderfully rustic environment. The restaurant is located in a former carpentry workshop and is lovingly and tastefully furnished. The staff was very attentive and courteous at all times. The food is of good quality and excellently prepared. Most meals are eaten at large, long tables. So it's very likely, depending on the size of the group you're in, that other people will also be sitting at the table. Since not every guest likes this, I would like to mention it here. We'd love to come back.

The Officina is a great restaurant. Great food and very attentive service. Local is divided. You can sit at individual tables upstairs and it is quieter than downstairs. In the lower part there are long tables where you can sit at a table with "strangers". However, it is a little louder here. So there is something for every taste.

The "Officina" has been - and rightly so - a popular gastro in Bredeney for many years. Original, stylish and yet not aloof. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the whole atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. The prices are reasonable and the price-performance ratio is right. In short: we always enjoy going here. However, you can occasionally notice that the younger staff are largely untrained. With moderate occupancy, the crew didn't always keep an eye on whether the guests still had something to drink. We also tried in vain to make eye contact for several minutes, even though some of the staff were clearly not busy doing anything else. There is still room for improvement.

Der Personalwechsel hat eindeutig den Service verbessert, bravo ! Die Auswahl an Speisen - Fisch, Fleisch, Pizza, Nudelgerichte - ist nach wie vor sehr vielfältig. Die Preise sind insgesamt gestiegen, aber für die Qualität des Essens durchaus in Ordnung. Mein Fleischgericht war sehr gut. Die Pizza war reichlich belegt mit frischen Zutaten. Wartezeit nicht wirklich lang. Einzig die Getränke sind recht teuer. Räumlich sitzt man unten besser als oben - die Luft ist besser und es ist geräumiger, daher nicht so laut.
