Over the weekend, we had an incredibly disappointing experience. We ordered a baked potato with meat inside, but only received a plain baked potato. When we politely informed our waitress of the mistake, she immediately became defensive, raising her voice and arguing with us. Eventually, she took the potato back to the kitchen, only to return with the same baked potato, this time with meat simply placed on top. The dish we ordered is supposed to have the crumbed meat embedded inside, not just added as a topping. When we pointed this out, she started shouting, which left us shocked. She went on to tell us that we’d have to eat it and pay for it, whether it was correct or not. I calmly explained that we would only pay for the item we actually ordered. She then took our dishes back again, and we informed her that, given her unprofessional attitude, we no longer felt comfortable staying. We requested the bill for our drinks so we could leave. At this point, she began hurling insults and insisted we pay extra, threatening us with additional charges. We calmly suggested she could call the police if necessary, as we were only willing to pay for what we ordered. Finally, she brought the correct bill for our drinks, which we paid before leaving. I would never return to this restaurant again.

I went here for dinner with my husband. Through Ochs'n Willi I was able to convince him of Swabian cuisine. We were very satisfied, delicious food. When it comes to “which dishes do you recommend?” The Allgäuer Pfännle should be included👍🏼. The close location to the subway makes arrival flexible. We look forward to visiting again soon.

We were there on a Saturday evening without a reservation, so we had to wait a while (about 15 minutes) until a table became available, but we were aware of that. Drinks and food came quickly and it tasted delicious. The service was friendly. The store was packed but everyone was professional and didn't seem stressed or annoyed. We'll definitely be back.

We didn't have a reservation and were served quickly. The food was delicious, I ordered meat with roast potatoes and cream (Ochs vom Spieß) and my husband ordered the pork knuckle (Knuspringe Riesenhaxe). Both were wonderful and the knee was definitely enough for two people. Despite the price being higher than other restaurants, it was worth it for the quality of both the food and the service. Super recommended!

Ochs’n Willi is a cozy restaurant with a traditional atmosphere. The food is down-to-earth and very tasty, especially the meat dishes. The portions are generous and the price-performance ratio is good. The service is friendly and attentive, and you immediately feel at home there. A great restaurant, especially for lovers of hearty cuisine!

Nice rustic homely atmosphere, always busy, the service is fast and friendly, the food is very good, there is something for everyone. As a vegetarian, I always find something. The portions are generous, hard for me to handle. Cheap, that's something else, but appropriate, tastes good and is also of high quality. We'll be back.

Would like to have a drink after a show, have been looking for a long time, have seen the light at Ochsen Willi. Unfortunately, the waitress said that they were already available, but since someone was still sitting at a table, they said we could get another beer. I thought it was great, you're not that flexible everywhere. Gave us a good tip about where to go. I just think it's great service. Thanks Hannes

Best place for dinner in Stuttgart!

I've been there 1000 times and every time it's quick, nice and the food is just amazing. Best restaurant in Stuttgart! Recommend to everyone!

As with every stay in Stuttgart, a visit to Ochs'n Willi was a must. It was again very good and with the extensive menu you can always find something or you can hardly make a decision. The service was also good as usual. We are already looking forward to the next time at the end of March. It's been 6 years since this review and Ochsn Willi is still part of the standard program when we are in Stuttgart. Always happy 👍

October 20, 2024 We wanted to eat there on Thursday before going to the theater. Thank God I looked at the menu today. I was horrified to see the current prices. So that's an enormous increase that I/we can no longer take part in. Too bad! My daughter was there recently and found that the quality had also deteriorated significantly. Not like that! Always delicious here. Fast, attentive service and the dishes are very tasty and of high quality. We often visit the restaurant in conjunction with a visit to the theater in the old town.

Portions are big. The pork knuckle looked big, I didn't taste it. The all you can eat sparrips were not of good quality. The servant was very talkative and tried to make jokes that could just as well be hiding racist attitudes. Did not have a good experience there.

Nice, rustic restaurant with traditional Swabian food. The staff is very busy but totally friendly. The food is very flavorful and the portions are generous. I had the cheese spaetzle with a salad, which you can put together yourself at the buffet. At this point I have to praise the coleslaw with bacon, which tastes really delicious! It was a lovely evening and I will definitely come back!

I'll make it short: the best spaetzle ever! After this meal, I realize that most of the others come from a package or are at least commercial kitchen kits. What a difference. Another plus point: salad buffet. The portions are large, there were three of us and we shared two dishes. Ne Mulle and an attentive waitress, what more do you need.

Always a regular stop in Stuttgart. Restaurant in the center with a wide selection of typical dishes. Typical and well-kept place. Excellent cuisine. Reservation recommended. There must be a fissa to Stoccarda. Ristorante located in the center and with a great atmosphere of typical pizzas. Locale tipico and ben curato. Cucina ottima. Consigliata la prenotazione.

Unfortunately very misleading. There should only be T-bone steak on the menu if it comes to the table on the bone. Otherwise it's anything but T-bone steak. Unfortunately, the prices have become so outrageous that we will soon no longer be able to afford it.

Took in our group of 6 Americans even though they were booked. Our waiter was the BEST!! He had us laughing all throughout our dinner. Service and food were top notch! I highly recommend this restaurant, but suggest you make a reservation because it is very popular!

Swabian cuisine in a traditionally furnished brewery. With little time, we got a table on a Friday evening. The food was very tasty and was served very quickly. The selection is very large and you can choose from many different Swabian specialties. Gladly again!

I had the spare ribs and I have to say they were the worst I've ever eaten!! The meat was tough and absolutely not edible. Other dishes may be good, the service was good, but the price-performance ratio for the spare ribs is simply a disgrace. Never again

Went to the barrel with our American relatives, it was great, it was well received.

I ordered the spare ribs to catch up. These were served with a slightly spicy, sweet sauce, which tasted okay, but didn't stand out. My companion chose the "Ochsn Willi Grillpfännle", which was quite well prepared, but considering the price it can be classified as rather expensive. However, the restaurant's central location partially justifies the cost. For dessert we chose the apple cake with vanilla sauce and the Kaiserschmarrn with walnut ice cream. While the vanilla sauce was rather disappointing in terms of taste, the Kaiserschmarrn in combination with the ice cream unfortunately failed to convince me either. However, I was told that the Mousse au Chocolate was highly recommended. However, I would particularly like to highlight the excellent service, which was consistently friendly and extremely attentive. Overall, I found the price-performance ratio to be slightly unbalanced, but the pleasant atmosphere and the excellent staff make a visit worthwhile.

Perfect for getting into the mood of the region. Careful service and cuisine. And we eat our fill. With a good little “Bierschen” to wash it all down. Great!

Beautiful place, excellent food, rude waiters

We always go to Ochsen to order a steak. Over time, 2 steaks with a side dish and spritzer now cost around €95. If Ochs'n Willi continues to continually increase prices, we will get out. The price is the upper limit of what you can ask for or is actually already too high. But once the tourists are inside, you can safely rip them off. It's too much now.

We ate in a barrel outside. That was really super comfortable. It had heating. 👌🏼 the service was funny and friendly. Unfortunately, the food didn't suit us. After ordering, 10 minutes passed and the food was there. You could tell from the meat that it wasn't freshly prepared but had just been fried again. The Stuttgarter Pfännnle for €32 with three really small medallions didn't convince me. The spaetzle, however, was delicious. Unfortunately it wasn't the experience I had imagined.

The food was excellent, as was the service. We will definitely go there to eat again when we go to Stuttgart. 😋

This is one of the things I recommend when you come to Stuttgart. We recommend seating on the terrace, which has a homely atmosphere. Beer is delicious, but so is wine. Riesling goes without saying.

I did try the pig knuckle and it was delicious however really is made for two people. In the back of the menu is an English version, which was super friendly and convenient for me. Looking at other tables, it seems like many people are sharing meals

Without a reservation, we had lunch at Ochs'n Willi at around 12.45 p.m. today. We got a very nice table straight away without any problems. The service impresses with its friendliness and a very accommodating manner. There is a different lunch menu with changing dishes every day. We were able to enjoy excellent food in a very rustic atmosphere. We will definitely pay Ochs’n Willi another visit the next time we visit Stuttgart.

A great restaurant with a very tasty knuckle and delicious beer. Super cozy and very nice service. I just have to say that the knuckle is so huge that no mere mortal can eat it.🙈. Even I, as a visibly good eater, couldn't manage it. Still so good that I would come back at any time.

It's my first time visiting Stuttgart, of course I need to try some traditional dish, Knusprige Riesenhaxe (pork knuckle) is very tasty, but the portion is very big for me, I highly recommend you should order one then share with the table, and the beer Weizen is so easy to drink especially Im not a beer drinker 🤟

Cozy and secret atmosphere, super delicious food and first-class service. The “Bavarian Haxenpfanderl with Mushrooms” is extremely tasty and definitely worth ordering! The service is attentive and courteous, but not too intrusive. We particularly remember Mr. Koutsogoulas very positively during our stay. Price-performance is definitely perfectly justifiable for the food served! I've been there a few times and will definitely stop by again. Always my pleasure!

Excellent servers had all the carbs removed from my soup as I requested - no problem. A wonderful tasting flavoursome rich beef soup with loads of beef! Once finished they asked was I ready for my mains (who asks that now?) Mains was a "small" rack of pork ribs. Hardly small - it was huge by irish/UK standards. No idea what that sauce was but it was exquisite. Friendly staff, pleasant Germanesque ambiance. Above with 2 cokes was €38. Right beside the Main Street! I'll be back.

Great, traditional menu, friendly atmosphere

The online reservation worked wonderfully. The food and drinks were served quickly. All of the dishes tasted good and there was nothing to complain about. The booked barrel enabled a quiet and undisturbed atmosphere.

Edit: On August 31, 2024 we were again at Ochs'n Willy with our dog. This time too we were greeted very friendly and were immediately offered water for our Orfeo. The food was again excellent. Our first impression was completely confirmed. We'd love to come back. We were there yesterday with our dog. Were shown to the outdoor table by a very friendly lady. She immediately asked if we needed a water bowl for the dog. When the very friendly service employee (who reminded us a little of the young Joey Kelly) came to take our order, he also asked if he should bring water for our dog. The drinks came quickly and well chilled. The dishes we chose were on the table after about 15 minutes. Everything tasted very tasty and the portions were quite large. We were completely satisfied and can highly recommend this restaurant. The Ochs'n Willi is definitely on the program for the next trip to Stuttgart.

The customer notices their years of experience during the ordering process through their customer-friendly tips. Her eye for drinks replenishment and with the delicious spare ribs-all you can eat, the replenishment order was already there with a smile or nod on our part. Her boss is also a really great woman, I've never had such an enthusiastic boss (apart from how stylish and young the lady seemed, certain older, dissatisfied ladies can take an example from her)... stop by there and you you will feel it. Traditional food, interesting cabins. The waiter was very nice. We were traveling with Chinese tourists and gave us plates to share food with. The only thing is that the summer in Germany is too hot, and some flies are very persistent around us.

Really disappointed…the service is so unprofessional and unfriendly. I ordered a half grilled pork leg, but it came the whole. I didn’t touch it and waited for waiter, who took my order to tell him that I ordered only half. However, the waiter argued with me and tried to put blame on me that I ordered it wrong. I always consciously know how much I can eat. I won’t order a full pork leg to eat alone. Since I didn’t want to destroy my evening, I took it. Worse, i would like to take the rest, but i had to pay 1.5 € for a packaging and I had to pack it myself. I find it unreasonable to me since I didn’t order it wrong and had to pay for a the packaging ! And the price of a whole grilled pork leg here is more expensive than other German restaurants in the town whereas the taste is not any better than other restaurants. … it’s from my experience and opinions. I won’t recommend it. … I came here because it was just convenient for me while having a dinner and waiting for my friends to go to a wine fest otherwise I would not drop here.

This is a good place to try the regional food, especially the spaetzle noodles with pork or beef. The ‘Munchner im Himmel’ is probably the best take on a jacket potato I have ever experienced, with pork tenderloin in a cream sauce. Traditional decor and good beer served.

An excellently run company! Very friendly, brilliant service, great selection of classics, huge portions and reasonable prices. Quality of the food ranges from first class (salad bar, beer Wulle or Dinkelacker naturally cloudy) to very good (spare ribs) to "okay" (cheese spaetzle). I'll definitely be back!

I got the pork knuckle and a Dinkelacker beer and my partner a soup with beef stripes and spätzle. The soup was delicious. A bit on the salty end but did not bother us at all. The pork knuckle was crispy on the outside and really flavorful and meaty on the inside. But bear in mind that it is difficult for one person to finish it completely. The horseradish side was really good as it was not a really spicy variety. All the dishes were really hot through and through, which helps when eating fatty meat. The beer was really good and blends well with the dishes. The serving was quick and attentive.

Hier kann man Hektik und Durchgangsverkehr aus Fernost live erleben . Speisen sofort nach Bestellung auf dem Tisch Hier wird klar auf Menge und Umsatz gearbeitet . Man mag es oder nicht . Vorlaute " Duz" Kellner und lauwarmes Essen sind zumindest nicht meins .
