Ocakbasi Altstadt in Dresden

We are experienced with Turkish food and cannot understand the positive reviews at all. They are tourists and we were seduced by them to eat there. The meat soup was not good in taste. The Lahmacun despite an absolutely overpriced price of €14!! both times only lukewarm. The grill plates are sparse for a price of €27. The meat pan was already more than done and partially burnt. We returned one dish because it was too cold. The GF said that it would be normal with yogurt in this dish 🙈. We didn't order a new one because the conversation didn't include any insight or apology. There are certainly better alternatives in Dresden. This is the opinion of 4 adults. The service staff tried hard, but no one asked if everything was OK. Conclusion: We should have gone to the Italian pasta restaurant instead, which is what we actually planned to do.

The food and the conditions were great. We had the griddle and a casserole. In our opinion, both were perfectly seasoned. The only thing that bothered us was that the bartender was on the phone the whole time and also had headphones in. When we went to pay, we saw that this was apparently common practice, as all the kitchen staff had headphones in their ears and some were even watching a film. Maybe the manager should pay more attention to the discipline of his employees.

We have been there several times and really enjoyed Turkish food. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with this restaurant. Some of the food wasn't fresh, bulgur tasted old, portions were manageable - but very expensive. Unfortunately, the meat quality was the worst. Minced meat was very fatty and didn't taste good, chicken was ok. I don't understand the many good reviews. We've been to a few Turkish restaurants - all of them much cheaper and better. Service was ok. Children's play corner was a great idea - but all the toys - the few that there were - were broken. Toilets were also so-so. All in all, the high price unfortunately doesn't match the quality at all. We won't come back. 2-3 stars - in the end we give it 3

Very long time to prepare food. Poor quality cola. All the tables outside the restaurant were reserved, but during the hour and a half that we were in the restaurant, no one used the tables outside. All in all, I prefer not to visit this restaurant again

Not worth the money. 16€ for a lamajun, really? Inside also i didnt get data connection and the staff didnt provide wifi. Some even didnt speak German. After the dinner our clothes smell all BBQ :( I would not come back.

Don't!!!!! We entered after seeing it from the outside during our trip to Dresden, do not be fooled by the outside, the prices are expensive, the portions are small, the service is slow, the food is tasteless. If possible, do not drink even a glass of water from here, even that is too expensive.

It was the first place we wanted to try when we arrived in Dresden, but we were disappointed. There is literally no minced meat in the lahmacun, we asked for lamb shish kebab and it was burnt and they noticed but they still sent it burnt, the bulgur pilaf was very dry, frankly it was not worth the price paid and we ate it to avoid being hungry with dishes we did not enjoy rather than tasting.... only the waitress was polite. A place I wouldn't want to go to again...

We didn't like the food that much, pide was too strong, the prices were on the expensive side. €10 for Txatziki? Come on. Service on the poor side. Sorry, it could really be better.

.I gave this restaurant a second chance today, but they still fell short of my expectations. The prices they charge for kebabs and other dishes are extremely high. I waited a full half hour to order, and then it took another hour for the food to arrive. Moreover, the restaurant was not crowded, but I still waited a long time. The service staff was insufficient, so the service quality was quite low.

Food - definitely pretty solid. We enjoyed both the dishes we were served. However it is important to note - the conditions of the restroom downstairs in the restaurant is absolutely abhorrent. You can smell the nauseous fumes from the up the stairs. I hope the state of that restroom is addressed soon. It made us not want to eat anything.

There were 9 of us and we waited almost over an hour for the bread that you get as a starter. The drinks like beer arrived warm. The food was cold and the portion was a bad joke for the price. The staff was very slow. Unfortunately, overall totally bad and disappointing.

The food and service were first class, the Adana Kebab tasted just like in Turkey. For each table there was a very tasty and airy lavash bread for the use of many customers with a nice salad and a small dip tzatziki bowl as well as a gently spicy mezze (ezme), which was minimally spicy, free of charge. On the subject of costs: The prices on the Google menu (approx. €7.50 per dish) are definitely not up to date and neither are they on the website (approx. €3 per dish there), that would be my only criticism. Otherwise the food was really first class.

Not less than 5 stars. It was worth choosing the lunch special. The portion was more than enough even when I was very hungry. The food was served quickly and was super tasty. You can enjoy Kurdish-Turkish cuisine in Dresden here. The service was quick and friendly, I will recommend it. Whenever I'm in Dresden, I will always go back.

If you are visiting the city of Dresden, it is a decent and beautiful place that you should definitely come and eat. Friendliness and customer satisfaction are at the forefront.

It takes forever to get the food

Staff is average. I ordered Urfa, the meat was good, the fries were very bad. I think it would be in their best interest to take it off the menu. The ambiance in the place is good. Turkish music was good for me, especially Black Sea songs. I don't know how good arabesques are for tourists :-)

After a long, hot day, we actually just wanted to have a small snack (doner kebab) for dinner. But the atmosphere was very inviting and we stayed on the terrace. The choice of food was made quickly and we opted for the grill plate and a shandy. The grill plate was freshly prepared and everything was very tasty. There was also a delicious bread with two different dips as a starter. The grill plate for two is completely sufficient for two people. The service is very friendly and accommodating. Card payment is possible inside at the checkout.

The food was very tasty and a lot! The side salad wasn't to our liking because of the dressing, but that was manageable. That would be a reason for us to go there again. The ambience is also nice. Unfortunately, the service wasn't entirely attentive and we sat for a long time with empty glasses. It wasn't possible to call over right away because no staff came near our table. However, that wasn't because there was a lot going on, as the place was almost empty.

Authentic and delicious food, friendly staff, will come back.

This restaurant is a must for anyone visiting Dresden. Were 3 years ago. already excited and now again. The staff is so friendly, value for money is excellent. You get homemade flatbread as a starter. It tastes so delicious and you can't stop eating, and the main course comes about 20 minutes later. Nothing that doesn't taste good. You can't describe it. If you like Turkish cuisine, this is definitely the right place for you! Keep it up!!!

The food is very good. It's not that spicy and not that salty. The only problem is the toilets. It stinks and you lose your appetite if you have to go to the toilet first and you vomit after eating.

Delicious food in a beautiful setting. Only the price comparison with similar restaurants in other cities deducts one point.

Great food! The portions are super inexpensive (four of us couldn't finish the whole four-man plate). Even though there were some problems that day, that doesn't change the fact that the evening was completely worth it. Always recommended!

The food was tasty but there was a lot of it. However, this symbolizes the top price/performance ratio and attracts guests to come back. There was a small incident in between, but it wasn't a problem. The service was super nice and friendly and were there for you so that you felt like you were eating at mom's house. It was taken care of around the clock. Inside you can see how the food is freshly prepared as there is an open kitchen. As a small apology, the service gave everyone a round of baklava. This pleased us very much. We'd love to come back!

Delicious food, especially the pide and the grill platter are definitely recommended! We were able to sit on the covered terrace in the rain at our own request. Ambiance inside very cozy. Menu very detailed. Unfortunately, the service only came by sporadically and had to draw our attention to us several times.

The location is also recommended for larger groups and children due to its location (not as crowded as the restaurants on the Altmarkt), the ambience (including bouncy castle), the quick service and the price-performance ratio.

The food was cold and served after a long time. Two of us got it, another 2 dishes were delivered late. Burnt meat in 2 dishes (grilled chicken) and burnt, bitter croutons in the next dish. On the plus side, the service lady was very nice.

Perfect as I expected! There are two Ocakbasi restaurants in Dresden and I always go to another one and it was my first time here, the food has the same quality but I like the atmosphere more than the other one in Neustadt.

Our drinks were not delivered and they also forgot that we had ordered lentil soup. After pointing this out to the staff, he said he didn't know we had ordered it. When we got the bill, we reported this incident to another employee and he said that both the lisen soup and the drinks were on the bill. Absolutely incomprehensible. Furthermore, the meat is not of good quality and the rice tasted like rice pudding.

As good as it gets to home. The food and the baklava were top notch. I didn’t order Pide but seems like most of their customers were ordering Pides. They were HUGE. Looked like it’s their go-to food.

We love this place, consistent quality, grilled meat and friendly service. Today we were there again. I could eat there every day, just the chicken skewers and the delicious freshly baked flatbread. I can only say good things, even though I'm usually very critical.

We waited an hour for the food. If they had informed us beforehand we would have gone somewhere else to eat, but they didn't seem to care that we had to wait. Nobody apologized. There won't be a second time.

Unfortunately I'm disappointed. I was very happy to eat here. My dish (#71) was OK, but wasn't worth the price at all. It was cold and the bread was completely soggy from the sauce. I've had enough. But unfortunately something extraordinary was missing from it. Unfortunately the service failed completely. We got our table and the menus. Then unfortunately nothing happened for 30 minutes. Suddenly our order was taken. After another 10 minutes the drinks came. The food arrived shortly afterwards. But it was cold. I would have liked to drink something more. But no one came to our table anymore. And we also felt somehow ignored. A pity. But unfortunately not recommended.

The staff is always really friendly. Unfortunately, there is often a lack of basic German knowledge. The food is good, but the menu has remained unchanged for many years. And the ambience also seems to be starting to show its age. The toilets in particular are in urgent need of renovation.

The waiters are very polite, the food is delicious and the portions are large enough. We would especially like to thank our waiter from Adiyaman Gölbaşı. If you are coming on the weekend, I recommend you make a reservation. We tried lentil soup, lahmacun, hünkar begendi, sac roast, adana kebab and knife arasi. For eggplant lovers, I recommend Hünkar begendi. Lahmacun is quite big. You can try kunefe for dessert, but the serbet was too sweet for us. One kunefe will be enough for two people. Baklava is served in 4 pieces. It was fresh and delicious.

The food was good, but nothing crazy. The staff might have been more attentive to guests even though the place wasn’t all packed. One huge minus is the toilet that smells like a decaying corpse.

I went there for a team get together from my work on Monday. We were seven in total and reserved a table ahead. It was not necessary to reserve but we did it just incase. I ordered dish number 101, named Sultan mochte es. It was delicious even though it was tiny bit saltier than my preferred amount. It is comperatively expensive though. P.s. The rice you see was in a bowl. I put it on the plate for convenience.

The food is authentic Turkish and I highly recommend it. Even on the third visit, the service was very attentive and polite. With the “greetings from the kitchen” there is always the flatbread with two dips. All meat is roasted over an open fire - you can see that and taste it (live cooking 🤩). Lovely again!!

Schon am frühen Abend ist die Luft im vor allem von Familien gut besuchten Restaurant zum Schneiden (Essensgerüche) - die Klimaanlage / Lüftung scheint außer Betrieb zu sein. Bedienung etwas durcheinander, aber sehr freundlich. Große Essensportionen, qualitativ allerdings bei einigen mit Luft nach oben (z.B. vollkommen geschmacksneutrale, ungewürzte Pide). Preise i.O.

We ordered the lunch menu. The price was reasonable and the food was very tasty and VERY filling (we were able to take some back with us). Best apple tea I've ever had (if anyone knows what it is, please let me know!).

Great Turkish restaurant with an unusual selection of dishes. Very friendly staff, large portions, highly recommended in terms of taste. Reasonably priced. We would be happy to come back the next time we visit Dresden.

Merkezi ve çok nezih bir mekan. Geniş tavanı ve ferah iç dizaynıyla keyifli bir ziyaret tecrübesi sağlıyor. Biz öğle menüsüne denk geldiğimiz için indirimli fiyattan lahmacun aldık, genel olarak lezzetli ve doyurucuydu. Tek lahmacun bile çok aç değilseniz bir kişi için yeterli olacaktır. Yanında gelen salatanın da dressingine bayıldım, zeytinyağlı ve çok lezzetliydi. Etrafta park imkanı da mevcut. Memnun kaldığımızı söyleyebilirim.

Wir sind spontan vorbeigekommen und hatten einen tollen Abend. Besonders hervorzuheben ist, dass man hier im Gegensatz zu vielen umgebenden Restaurants wirklich viel Essen als Portion bekommt und das Restaurant satt verlässt. Dabei ist das Essen unglaublich gut und die Bedienung sehr zuvorkommend und nett. Gerne wieder! Anmerkung noch zu den Deckenlampen, die leider an einigen Plätzen wirklich unangenehm flackern
