The Turkish restaurant was a culinary delight: As a complimentary appetizer, we were served fresh flatbread with two delicious dips. The mixed grill platter with lamb and chicken was very tasty and well-grilled. Unfortunately, the toasted bread under the meat was soggy from the sauces, which wasn't to my liking. The service was friendly, and we were asked to pay at the register near the entrance. The prices are quite high overall, which naturally raises expectations. While many of the dishes were delicious, there's still room for improvement in the overall experience.

We had a truly delicious dinner with delicious adana kebab, lahmacun and appetizers. I don't know how the lamb shish can be so tender but it was as soft as cotton. Thank you so much, we enjoyed it very much.

Absolutely not recommended. Prices are outrageously overpriced: €22.50 for a simple Adana kebab with day-old bulgur. The salad was prepared with absolutely no care, no seasoning, no freshness, just a bit of sumac to make it look lifeless. For the main course, the mixed grill platter for two (almost €50) Very little meat, and what little there was was completely inedible. The lamb chops were pure fat. The Adana kebab was dry. The chicken skewers were half-raw. The kofta had the consistency of an old sponge and tasted only of oil. Absolutely not recommended. Even if it cost half the price, it still wouldn't be worth a visit.

The food was okay. The appetizer was free. We also received two free raki shots. Unfortunately, two of the dishes were served cold, which was a shame. Cleanliness left much to be desired. Dirty glasses, obviously not polished, were served. Water glasses arrived at the table still wet. The restrooms are a disaster. Something definitely needs to be done about that. The service was friendly, but somewhat stressed, rushed, and disorganized. Everything has become expensive, but charging €20 for a chicken curry with rice seems a bit steep to me. You're probably paying for the "free" appetizer after all. ;-) One person, two drinks, one main course - €32. I don't necessarily need to go back there.

We're in Dresden this weekend and wanted to grab a bite to eat on the spur of the moment. We even got a table without a reservation. A disastrous evening... First, the positive: The food was truly delicious! Now for the negative: Our first drink order was processed quickly. Unfortunately, after that, despite repeated requests, we were left with nothing. We ordered four main courses, two of which arrived lukewarm (sometimes cold), and two were completely forgotten. Bottom line: The Lostaria is just a few meters away, and you get your order. And it's even delivered promptly. Ocakbasi is not recommended! How the positive reviews came about is a mystery to me.

I've already visited the well-known and popular Turkish restaurant Ocakbasi Altstadt again. The food was delicious, from the appetizers and soup to the phenomenal meat. Since we're traveling with a small child, cleanliness is paramount, and unfortunately, I'm downgrading my overall rating here because the children's corner is a joke. Dirty, old toys, and a blower in the middle of the room with no air. The carpet is torn and torn, and the entire floor in the restaurant is sticky.

To sum it up: The food tastes really good. (The flatbread is really great.) The service, however, has a structural organizational deficit. After a 50-minute wait, 2 of 4 dishes were served cold, and the remaining two never arrived. Drink orders also seemed to suffer from some kind of time difference. Stable rate.

If you go for a walk in Dresden, this restaurant is not recommended under any circumstances. We ordered mixed kebab plates twice and the plate was full of very little bulgur meat and it didn't taste of anything. We wanted to eat nice grilled meat for the evening but we got a lot of abulgur.

Excellent lunch offers. Lovely staff, great to see the open kitchen with the massive ovens. So nice to have a children's play area. Huge portions, very tasty and fresh salad, lahmacun, mixed grill etc. Would 100% recommend.

We ordered three lentil soups, a pide, and a lahmacun. Unfortunately, all three soups were only lukewarm. Two of them were taken away to be reheated, but they came back lukewarm. The lahmacun was also cold – only the pide was okay. We paid €58 for three lentil soups, one lahmacun, and one pide – extremely expensive for this quality. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time this has happened; it's happened two or three times. This was definitely our last visit. Never again!

The restaurant is located close to the city center, very clean with friendly staff and excellent, delicious food. I highly recommend it, especially for travelers who are new to the city. During my five-day trip, I ate here three times and was very satisfied.

Sorry, I wanted to like this place, but it just did not live up to my expectations. The service was not friendly, I felt I had done something wrong and was ignored. I ordered a Gemichte Pide and it came with a salad. Both very blend. I am not sure what flavour should take me to Turkey as this tasted like a blend flat bread pizza to me. The taste of food is personal, so please don't let my review discourage you. I hope the waiters only had a bad day.

Wonderful staff, namely mahmoud, he was kind enough to tell us about the attractions of the city in great detail. As for the food (Halal); urfa kabab and yogurt kabab were superb. Hummus was hummus (you cant go wrong with it). They bring you a complementary delicious salad to fill your patience bar with, who doesn't love complementary things?!

The place is huge. Very spacious. There's a playground inside. The menu is very diverse. We ordered Beyti, köfte, and Adana. Unfortunately, the köfte and Adana were very dry and bland. The Beyti was okay. The starters are limited to meze and pita. The prices are very high. We live in a city center in another European country, and by comparison, they're very, very high. Also, it's customary in Turkish restaurants in Europe to serve tea after dinner. This isn't the case here. And unfortunately, the order took a very long time to arrive. Still, if you're in the city center and hungry, it's a good option.

Food was good but waiting times bottomless (even for drinks) but they gave a starter on the house

We went there for dinner a few days ago – and it was a truly pleasant surprise. The service was very good, the food arrived quickly, was hot, and delicious. We've been to this restaurant several times in the past, but back then, neither the food nor the service nor the atmosphere deserved more than two stars. The food often arrived very late, was cold, and one of our orders was even completely forgotten. Once, we had to wait over an hour – and that was with a baby with us. This time, so much has improved that I simply had to ask if there was a new team – and yes, the restaurant now has fresh new employees, and it's definitely noticeable. I can only congratulate the team and wish them continued success! I hope they continue in this direction. P.S. A baby room would be ideal 😉🍀 deducting one star just for that.

We loved eating here in the past and always recommended it to friends and family. After some time, we happily returned and were very disappointed. 1. The prices had gone up significantly (okay, that's unfortunately normal). 2. There was no free appetizer (flatbread with dips) anymore. When we asked, we were told that it was only available with two specific dishes and no longer with ours. 3. Now comes the biggest disappointment: the pide is no longer the same. The usually fluffy, soft yeast dough has been replaced with a thin dough. The taste and mouthfeel are completely different as a result. Unfortunately, the pide is no longer as filling. Which is really sad considering the hefty price of around 18 euros. The standard salad was also significantly smaller than before and, above all, no longer completely fresh. 4. Unfortunately, the service was also not as good. The restaurant was fairly full, yet the waiters were hardly visible. This made ordering food take a very long time. 5. On top of that, the restrooms are in a very unpleasant state, and you want to get out of there as quickly as possible. Conclusion: After today's visit, we have decided not to visit the restaurant again and will also advise our friends and family against it. It's a real shame.

The one star is only for the tea afterward. Several of us went to the restaurant, and we were all very disappointed with the quality. I had a grill plate for €27, which was not worth the price at all. Neither in terms of quantity nor quality. I can't recommend the restaurant at all. It's a shame. A mixed grill for €27 and there are only three bites of meat on it? Even a child wouldn't be able to fill up on that. That's truly disappointing.

We go to Oçakbaşı every few weeks and are always very satisfied. Aside from the delicious food, we're especially impressed by the service and ambiance. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Another great advantage is the play area. If the kids get bored, they can have fun there and don't bother us.

We've visited this restaurant a few times each year. Unfortunately, the quality is declining; the interior needs a refresh, especially the children's play area... a lot of it is showing its age...the staff needs retraining in service. The quality of the dishes has also improved the last few times. Unfortunately, it's no longer worth a visit.

I've eaten at many ocakbasi restaurants in Turkey, but my best experience was here. The beyti was the best I've ever eaten—and my wife said the same about the Adana kebab. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is clean, has a great ambiance, and is suitable for any group size. If you want to enjoy a truly delicious feast, this is the place to go. I highly recommend it!

I recently visited Ocakbaşı Old Town and was absolutely thrilled. As soon as you enter, you sense this warm, relaxed atmosphere – stylishly decorated, yet cozy and inviting at the same time. You immediately feel at home. The food was simply fantastic! Everything was fresh off the grill, perfectly seasoned, and incredibly aromatic – from the meze starters to the main course, everything was truly spot on. I particularly appreciated how all my special requests were accommodated, without any stress or rush. The team is attentive, warm, and incredibly hospitable. For me, it was an all-round successful evening – and certainly not my last visit. If you want authentic Turkish food, this is the place to be.

Unfortunately, I don't recommend it. The good reviews are somewhat misleading. Our food arrived lukewarm to cold (we should have mentioned this upfront). The price is also high considering that most of the kebab dishes don't come with rice and/or bulgur. This isn't stated on the website. It's only listed on the menu at the end of the "chapter" on the back. It's a shame. The food would certainly have been very good if it were hot.

One of best great quality and tasty Turkish food in Dresden

We are from Turkey ourselves and are experienced with Turkish food and cannot understand the positive reviews at all. So, not enough soups to choose from. and the lamb's head soup does not correspond to the recipe because Kelle Paça is a traditional Turkish soup made from tripe and head meat. Then the inflated, dry baked dough balloons are not edible, I think they only serve as an attraction. We order something, then we get something else served🤔 that's not possible. bulgur bland, boring, tasteless. lacked salt. and now the most important thing, the toilets are very dirty, smelled of urine, unkempt atmosphere, the electricity line over the sink in the women's toilet is not allowed for safety reasons. The red carpet towards the kitchen entrance is simply out of place. the prices for pide look high. 16 euros? Why? So I just don't understand the good reviews at all.

Yes, everything is ok so far, kelle paça soup could be served a little warmer. The grill plate for 2 people is really counted. Probably due to the procurement prices.

They are so indifferent. When you want something, you come in from outside and ask. The kebab comes with no pita. You go in, call the waiter and ask. There is no salt on the table, you go in and ask for it separately. Service is bad. It doesn't taste like Ocakbasi and it's expensive.

It was still plenty: you can share a starter if you want a main course. Everything seems extremely appetizing and tastes good. And in the end, the initially high price (8EUR) for "tzatziki" seemed reasonable to me, because it was a lot, there was plenty of bread and also a paprika paste. And even with the reduced price lunch menu you only compromise on price, the portions are generous. The kitchen is open so that you can see what is being made...in principle you could also stand and watch your own food being made. In terms of price, the restaurant is in the middle range (by Dresden standards), and you can easily study the menu online beforehand. The service varies. They are apparently trying to keep their head above water with temporary staff. Sometimes it works better, sometimes less. The regular staff is great! Conclusion about everything: We (4 adults, one lunch menu) were very satisfied!

There were five of us at Ocakbasi. Very friendly welcome. Before the meal, in a typical Turkish restaurant, a thin flatbread is served with delicious dips and small salads. Always delicious. Lunch really tasted wonderful, we had prawn pan, grill plate for 2, pide with lamb. The ambience is so-so, in the dining room it's still OK, but now comes the reason why the 5th star is missing: In the basement near the toilets, the plaster is crumbling from the walls everywhere. And much less pleasantly, the floor stuck and didn't look clean. Not even parts of the walls. In the sanitary area! It's a shame, otherwise it would definitely have been 5 stars.
