I ate at this restaurant today. The food was okay, and the taste was excellent. However, the service was very disappointing. I ordered a small Turkish tea, but it never arrived. The bill listed a large tea, which I neither ordered nor received. When I asked for a tea again after paying, I was told it was free of charge—even though it had already been listed on the bill. I didn't get a clear explanation for this discrepancy. Instead, I was told that the tea would be charged if you weren't having anything else, which I found completely incomprehensible. Overall, the service seemed inattentive and not very customer-oriented. The food was okay, but the experience didn't leave me feeling comfortable.

We went to the breakfast buffet at Nirvana in Essen today – and it was simply fantastic! 😍 Everything was fresh, incredibly delicious, and lovingly prepared. The selection is huge: from savory dishes to fresh fruit to sweet treats – there's something for everyone here. We were particularly impressed by the quality of the products and the beautiful presentation. The service was also super friendly and attentive; we felt completely at home. The ambiance is modern, cozy, and inviting. In short: an incredibly delicious breakfast, top-notch service, and a definite recommendation! We'll definitely be back. 🙌

I've never had to complain so often in any other restaurant. Missing drinks, wrong side (fries instead of rice), then my food is almost cold. Then it comes back, and it's more than obvious it was heated in the microwave. One of the servers definitely doesn't speak German. The salad tastes of nothing. No oil or vinegar on it. While the servers accepted every complaint without hesitation and were friendly, they seemed a bit disorganized. It's a shame, and I'm not one to criticize everything, but this was nothing, unfortunately. Oh, and the prices are reasonable.

The only downside to this restaurant is that you won't want to eat anywhere else in Essen—we went there once for dinner and again the next morning for breakfast. There are probably very few places as clean and yet as delicious. A big thank you also to the always friendly Leyla and the polite, solution-oriented team for their outstanding service.

Today we went to the Nirvana Restaurant in Essen and were about to sit down, when the waiter came over and said, "The boss says you have to take the dog out." Our little puppy was on a leash, sitting quietly in his basket, and wouldn't have bothered anyone. We've been allowed to eat here with our dog several times in the past – this time we were simply turned away. Very rude and disappointing. Definitely the last time for us!

Food was OK. Lots of lamb dishes, not much chicken. The person who operates the bell for ready-made meals was extremely annoying. He rang the bell about 100 times within a minute. Very annoying.

The meeting place was truly beautiful. We received a warm welcome and were even able to switch our reserved seats because some colleagues are physically disabled. We had a good meal and everyone was very satisfied. But my recommendation: Reserve a table. It's always very busy there. Breakfast is a huge buffet. Super nice.

I was there yesterday for the first time in a while and was shocked by the current prices. You keep hearing that everything is going up (staff, electricity, goods, etc.), and it's understandable if that's reflected in the menu. Unfortunately, I have the feeling that some places exaggerate this, and that's the number one excuse when someone complains about it. The pide with minced meat was delicious, albeit a bit too long in the oven, as the crust was quite hard. I had two Cokes (0.2 liter bottles) with the meal. With all due respect, I find almost €23 for a pide and two mini Cokes "cheeky."

Ugur Abi was a sick waiter only because of him I would come again if he gets minimum wage then it would be Ayip he must get a big pay rise (23,90€ per hour) the way he treats the customers is a dream

We were still hungry late at night after 11 p.m., and most of the restaurants in Rüttenscheid were already closed, so we came here spontaneously. It's great that the kitchen takes orders until 11:30 p.m. The restaurant is open until 1 a.m. One of the servers was super friendly and accommodating. I've rarely experienced such friendly service. The other servers were a bit quieter. The food was great value for money. And a free starter was excellent and delicious. We felt at home, and I would come back again.

The waiters' grumpiness is truly nirvana; not a single smile or greeting is visible. We even had to pay the bill, and none of the waiters seem interested. While eating, they take the bread away from us. As we continue eating, they come and ask if we're finished. There are four of us, all speaking Turkish, and they insist on asking everyone's order in German. We liked the food; the meat was delicious, but the waiters are really dragging the place down to its lowest ebb.

I had made my reservation six months in advance, confirming it several times in advance—and the day after the registry office, they suddenly claimed the reservation wasn't valid. Unfortunately, this severely tarnished my overall impression, even though the food and ambiance were fine.

The food is absolutely in accordance with Turkish cuisine, not adapted to European habits, so it is "no alcohol". The meat is top quality, beautifully prepared, mostly a little spicy.. The portions are adapted to those who like to eat..☺️👏🏼. The service, a little disappointing; confused.. to me without translation into another language. But all in all, my stomach was satisfied☺️👏🏼.

I had oven-baked lamb. It was nice and tender, but barely seasoned. I thought it was too expensive for the price of €22. Otherwise, I'd happily give it four stars; the people there were super friendly.

I used to love coming here, but unfortunately, I don't anymore. The prices have gone up – like everywhere else – and the portions have gotten smaller. The staff used to be much friendlier and more competent. The new staff unfortunately don't seem as dedicated anymore – with the exception of the one who distributes the çay, who is great. It's a shame, because with the renovation, not only the old ambiance seems to have disappeared, but also the good food and the well-coordinated staff. The lamb chop had a sandy taste, the pieces of meat were undercooked and tough as chewing gum. The Adana was full of chunks of fat – it could definitely be better.

All in all, Nirvana is my favorite ocakbasi. The service is always super attentive, and you won't miss anything. The food is really good quality, but it's still missing that certain something to earn it a 5-star rating. I come here with friends and with my girlfriend alone, and everyone has really enjoyed it so far. Plus, I think the food is very reasonably priced. I definitely recommend it!

We ordered a grilled meat plate for €24.90, saç tava for €20.90, gazoz for €3.90, and ayran for €2.90, totaling €52.60. I later noticed that €57.60 had been charged to my card. The grilled meat plate was okay, but I didn't like the saç tava.
