We had dinner here yesterday with colleagues and were absolutely delighted. The food was outstanding, we loved the restaurant's ambiance, and we especially want to commend the entire staff: incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. You immediately feel at home. We're certain we'll be back – and we'd love to!

The welcome was exceptionally friendly and initially raised our expectations very high. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal didn't live up to this standard. After being shown to our table, the waitress greeted us rather coldly, which made for a somewhat awkward start. The food itself was partly very good: The meat was very tender and flavorful. The grilled vegetables, however, had no smoky flavor whatsoever and tasted more like they had been steamed – that was disappointing. We had also expected much more from the side rice. We had ordered herb butter with the steaks, but it arrived far too late – only when we had almost finished our steaks. There was another problem with dessert: We ordered cappuccino for dessert. The cups were so extremely hot that they burned us. The liquid itself wasn't overheated, which gave the impression that the cups had been heated separately. There was no indication of this, and as a result, we couldn't enjoy the cappuccino with dessert as usual. Overall, the visit did not justify the prices charged. Due to a combination of service problems and several disappointing details regarding the food, we would not return.

We were very disappointed. The service was good and very friendly, but the food... the appetizer platter consisted mainly of many mayo-heavy dips, the fries weren't crispy and were lukewarm, the mixed grill was the same, and the asparagus was very al dente. We won't be coming back.

Great food, superb service, ... definitely worth the money!

Since I suspect the bad reviews are being deleted (because otherwise I can't explain the 4.6 stars here), I'll keep it brief: The worst restaurant I've ever been to. There were eight of us for dinner, and the price I've quoted is what we paid after they generously removed a few drinks from the bill. We had to go to the front three times!! to ask if we could order, when the drinks would arrive, and when the rest of the food would come. After two hours, each of us finally received parts of what we had ordered (everything was cold and some had already been returned, because they brought out part of three people's food and then nothing for 15 minutes). We were fed up and just ate. After pointing out three more times that side dishes and ordered drinks were still missing, everything finally arrived. When we asked if everything was okay and said no, they offered us a complimentary coffee, which never actually arrived. The quality of the food was in no way commensurate with the price. We observed similar problems at neighboring tables. So it wasn't an isolated incident. At the very end, someone finally apologized for the evening; before that, no one seemed to care. Never again Da Vet.

We've been to Da Vet several times now and have always been very satisfied. Even today (November 5th), the food and service were outstanding. We highly recommend it.

Overall, a very nice restaurant, and the food was very good. My only complaint is that my vegetarian grill platter (appetizer) was almost raw; the carrots and bell peppers were quite hard, which was a bit unpleasant, but I ate the whole thing anyway. I mentioned this and could have had a new platter, but I declined. Unfortunately, there was no other compensation offered. They could have offered a complimentary dessert, for example. Sadly, they didn't. After 9:00 p.m., there were still quite a few staff members around, but no one came to our table to ask if we wanted anything else. That was a real shame. The restaurant could definitely improve on this.

We celebrated our civil wedding there (the registry office is located in the historic farmstead). From the reservation to the menu selection, the choice of venue, and the celebratory lunch with our guests in the "chicken coop," everything was perfect and we were thoroughly delighted. The food was excellent and plentiful, and the service wonderful. In addition to the entire team, special mention should be made of employee Jola, who gave us very personal, warm, and knowledgeable advice and was our constant contact on the wedding day. We hope that this gastronomic gem will be appreciated and retained for a long time to come as a well-run business.

Great restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine.

Important information in advance: The tenant has since changed (as of October 2025). A beautiful location, superb food, and courteous service during the celebration. However, the preparation and follow-up for the party were a real test of nerves. The constantly stressed staff have little overview, and you have to repeatedly explain when, where, and with how many people you want to celebrate. Agreements that were already made (and always under pressure) are not remembered and apparently not readily available to the contact persons. Clarification via email, which would allow for clarification outside of day-to-day business (and thus reduce stress?), doesn't work at all... you get no response at all! Disastrous organization for a company that hosts so many large events. Furthermore, during the planning phase, you encounter staff who are sometimes more than unfriendly, even rude. We only experienced sweet friendliness when it came to payment. There was quite a bit of confusion here, so we were called several times. We should have allowed ourselves that when preparing for our party! Well... it's certainly an excellent restaurant for the a la carte menu... but unfortunately, I wouldn't host a larger event there again... I personally need a friendly, approachable, and open partner who will approach the planning with me in a collaborative manner. This beautiful restaurant is unfortunately far from that. My recommendation: invest in a FRIENDLY & CUSTOMER-FOCUSED employee who solely handles customer service for planning parties and celebrations and who is familiar with the details... then this location would be top-notch!

I was recently at Da Vet and was very impressed overall. The restaurant reopened at the end of November 2024 in the former stables of the Niederpleiser Mühle. The renovation was successful; you can see that great attention was paid to design. The interior is pleasant, cozy, and modern, with sufficient space between tables, which ensures pleasant privacy. The cuisine offers Mediterranean dishes with fusion elements – such as seafood dishes, octopus with hummus, etc. The quality is generally upscale: fresh, tastefully prepared. Many guests praise the meat from the charcoal grill as well as the variety and freshness of the ingredients. The prices are on the higher side. The service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is enhanced by good service, which makes the entire experience more pleasant. If you're willing to spend a little more and are looking for good, stylish food in a pleasant atmosphere, this is a great place to be. This was our first time at Da Vet and we were very impressed by the completely redesigned space. The ambiance invites you to linger and enjoy. The table and chairs are pleasantly relaxed, unobtrusive, and comfortable, so that time flies by unnoticed. The menu is very well-selected, with a composition of dishes that makes choosing not easy but a joy. We can only praise the food highly. The meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection. Nothing was dry, overcooked, or taken off the fire too early. The dessert itself is not only a visual eye-catcher, but the ingredients used demonstrate the attention to detail that was evident in all the dishes. We would describe much of what we tasted with the words "I remember this from my childhood." It evokes memories of good and beautiful things that make you dream. As for the service: They are there. Friendly, polite, courteous, and always unobtrusively nearby. We will definitely visit Da Vet again.

We were invited there for a 70th birthday party and celebrated in the "Chicken Coop." A very nice room for smaller groups. The food was incredibly delicious and plentiful! The service was very friendly and accommodating. It's a shame we live so far away, otherwise we would have become regular guests.

The two of us were there on the weekend and had made a reservation in advance, which was a good thing. The ambiance is a bit more upscale but pleasant, and I have to say, I haven't sat so comfortably in a long time. The chairs are simply super comfortable; I was actually able to sit comfortably for three hours without any pain. The food itself is certainly in the high price range, but our selection was extremely delicious and perfectly seasoned. I was quite full; in hindsight, my companion would have been better off ordering a salad with it. But apart from that, the food was truly excellent. My companion, a hotel professional herself, confirmed this. The service was absolutely excellent; we weren't rushed; we were able to enjoy our starter in peace. The main course arrived after we had arranged it, and we didn't have to wait long, even though the restaurant was very busy. Another big plus. If it stays that way, great. The service was very attentive and friendly, and always kept an eye on the smaller tables like ours. All in all, a successful evening; it certainly wasn't the last time we were there.

Beautifully located, parking is no problem. Tastefully decorated. Different areas with a variety of exciting dishes, terraces, and a beer garden. Friendly and well-trained staff. Attention to detail is paramount here. I'm happy to pay a little more for that.

I had the cheeseburger: it was tasty but very small. The ratio of burger to a huge pile of fries wasn't good. Fewer fries and a bit more decoration on the burger would help. The prices are too high for self-service, in my opinion.

Long wait for food, lukewarm food, parts of the order were missing

Horrid service, hours of waiting for absolutely everything. One slice of bread per person... A completely tense atmosphere. The quality of the food was so-so: Mediterranean vegetables consisting of 90% bell peppers and not even traces of tomato, zucchini, or eggplant... The rating should really be well below par.

We were there yesterday and were able to eat outside. The food was very good. The waitresses were super attentive, friendly, and very quick. No one had to wait, even though the place was packed. The overall ambiance, both inside and out, is very harmonious. Also worth mentioning are the "washrooms," which are often neglected. We had a very good meal and felt very comfortable. After extensive reconstruction and renovations, the Niederpleiser Mühle reopened in spring 2025 under the name Da Vet: light-filled rooms with numerous windows and a tasteful ambiance make for a comfortable stay. The menu offers many new dishes, and the portions are ideal. We chose baby calamari, manti, and the beef pan and were very satisfied. The service was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and we are already looking forward to our next visit. Plenty of parking nearby, and the restroom is on the ground floor.

I'm a big eater, and food is truly my passion. I stumbled upon this place via Google Maps. And what a surprise! It's impossible to put into words; you have to experience it for yourself. A-ma-zing! Huge thanks to the chefs and staff. I never thought I'd find something like this in the middle of nowhere; everything is impeccable! Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food.

The new "Da Vet" surprises with a completely new look – a modern, stylish ambiance that no longer compares to the previous restaurant. The service was very friendly and attentive, but seemed a bit disorganized in places. The food was absolutely delicious, and the value for money was rather high. The only downside: filling side dishes must be ordered separately. Overall, though, it was a successful evening in a pleasant atmosphere.

Everything is chic, friendly staff outside at the grill and at the self-service bar. Unfortunately, only cash, no card payments accepted, so you should be aware of that before visiting with several people! Maybe things will change...let's hope so ❤️👍😎 Oh yes...the pagers...it would be enough if they flashed or just vibrated. It's quite loud when 3-5 pagers are blaring at the counter during peak hours...food is ready for pickup...here too, we hope for better conditions...it spoils the chilled lounge atmosphere...then that's why we're missing a star.

We went to the beer garden and didn't eat anything, just a drink. You have to get drinks at the bar, which is the case with many beer gardens. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location has a modern interior. In addition to the standard beer garden seating, there are also comfortable lounge chairs. We'd love to come back and recommend the beer garden as well. We still have to try the restaurant.

The Da Vet restaurant in the Niederpleiser Mühle in Sankt Augustin offers upscale Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. Unfortunately, the prices are commensurate. Although the dishes are already quite expensive, you have to pay extra for side dishes. A portion of rice or mashed potatoes costs an extra €6. A sauce costs €5, and you also have to pay extra for vegetables. The meat is accompanied by only two spears of green asparagus and some bell peppers. The food was delicious, though, and the service was good. The ambiance is pleasant, and the ambiance is comfortable. My plate, however, had a corner, which shouldn't happen in a fine restaurant.

An exclusive treat at the highest level. We were at "Da Vet – Fusion Mediterranean Kitchen" in the Niederpleiser Mühle on a Saturday. There were four of us and we were seated like royalty. The rotating staff was perfectly coordinated and took great care of us and the other guests. All the seats in our room were taken. Let's start with the appetizer. We had the 22 (feta cheese) and the 61 (Mediterranean lentil and carrot cream soup). Both were served impeccably and presented with stunning taste. The appearance matched the flavor, and there was nothing to complain about. The main course was also a flavor explosion. The premium tenderloin fillet steak was grilled so perfectly "medium" that no juices ran out when cut, yet it remained pink in the center. The steak was served with two asparagus stalks and a small pot of pepper sauce. Mediterranean vegetables and sweet potato fries were served with it. A delight. The herb butter was creamy and slightly foamy. Another dish was the king salmon. There was nothing to complain about. Salmon lovers will get their money's worth here. For dessert, there was chocolate soufflé (162) and golden threads (163). Both must be tried and will delight everyone. The golden threads was barely sweet and had a subtle hint of honey. The soufflé was heavenly and was savored with real enjoyment and broad grins. All four starters, main courses, and desserts were brought at the same time. No one at the table had to wait for anyone else. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would like to thank this fantastic team. From the dining room staff to the kitchen staff. The value for money is worth all five stars. Perhaps even a five-star plus. This won't be the last time we eat here, and we're already looking forward to the next one.

Only 4 stars for the food. 80% of the menu features lamb. Hardly any chicken. At other restaurants, you're used to getting a small snack beforehand. This is missing here, too. Service was very good. The ambiance was outstanding.

I was invited here today for Mother's Day by my daughter and son-in-law. Very nice atmosphere, comfortable seating, which is important, super nice service staff and I can't rave enough about the food. A big compliment and a definite recommendation for this excellent restaurant.

Only our second visit (the first was under the old restaurant management) and it proved once again that every kilometer traveled from Cologne is worth it. The first time we even arrived on our bikes. The new ambience is inviting and fresh, the service is attentive and quick and the kitchen has mastered its craft. What more could you want? We will come back and are excited about the new terrace and the announced beer garden.

We tried Da Vet for the first time. First of all I have to say that the food was excellent. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, the service was very overwhelmed when the house was full. We had to wait a long time for the aperitifs when we ordered our drinks. Then a no go, the cocktail for my husband was served and I had to wait quite a while for my drink. Why aren't both drinks served at the same time? Then instead of an “Aperitivo Rosato” I was brought a “Lillet Wild Berry”. I also had to ask twice for the bottle of water I ordered. These mistakes could have been overlooked if a similar mistake hadn't happened with the main course. Instead of the truffle fries we ordered, normal ones were served. When asked, they apologized and only charged the normal amount on the bill, but one wonders how this can happen? Either the waiter sends the wrong dishes on the electronic device, or too many mistakes are made in the kitchen or at the bar. It would also have been nice if the staff had briefly explained what was on the plate with the meze platter and also the dessert mix. The dessert mix doesn't require apple pie either, I would have preferred some baklava instead. Then it's quite an art to conjure up such a bad "espresso" from a Cimbali portafilter coffee machine. Without crema, simply loveless. Just because you serve coffee in a small cup doesn't make it espresso. The waiting time for dessert to arrive was also very, very long, even though the restaurant was already pretty empty at that time. Waiting time of over 30 minutes, you should perhaps point out on the menu that it takes that long. The food was excellent, but unfortunately everything around it failed. I had hoped for more based on the positive reviews from this evening and unfortunately I was disappointed.

We ate here for the first time after the change of tenant on Saturday. We were greeted very friendly and shown to our table in the so-called chicken coop. Unfortunately, the friendliness ended because the waiter who served us was unfriendly, uninterested, inattentive and uncharming. This man doesn't like his job or his guests. All the other staff were very nice, but unfortunately they weren't responsible for our table. The food, however, tasted very good. Both the seafood and the lamb and chicken. Only the cold side dish for the meat dishes (shallots?) wasn't really edible - at least for our taste. For my taste, the previous fish soup didn't quite have the spice of Bruno's previous fish soup ;-), but it was still tasty and very rich at a fair price. The food is good but too expensive. Not suitable for people with walking difficulties, as you have to go down a staircase with several steps and there is no railing to hold onto the stairs.

Very tastefully decorated, great lamps. There are 2 different rooms, a cozy room and an elegant room. The map is huge, not always a good sign. The fish soup and salmon tartare were good. Classic naan bread with aioli. I imagine medallions to be something different, they looked like patties for burgers, but tasted okay. The fine fish plate was rather sobering, salmon, squid, prawns and trout? For me this is a mixed fish platter. The vegetables and potatoes were floating in the oil, a shame. Unfortunately the octopus was quite tough and everything was drowned in oil. The Caesar salad was good. The service was very friendly and even though it was very busy the drinks came quickly. All in all okay, but quite expensive

A beautiful restaurant with extravagant decor, fantastic food and perfect service. It definitely couldn't have been better. Another little tip, leave a little space in your stomach, the baklava is a dream.

Good food in a very nice, tasteful atmosphere. We've been there twice now. Friendly service, a bit uncoordinated with a full house on Fridays. Food delicious, especially the grill plate. The Mediterranean vegetables for 6.90 euros were pale and unseasoned. Caesar salad and brioche burger were good to eat. The large appetizer platter, very tasty, is enough for several people. None of us liked the baked goat cheese, like pudding. Nevertheless, we would love to come back.

My visit to the Niederpleiser Mühle by Da Vet was anything but satisfactory. I was particularly disappointed when I noticed that a dessert was listed on my bill that I never ordered. The staff didn't seem to care enough about the guests and didn't even feel the need to clarify this incident. Furthermore, I was surprised by the high prices, which didn't seem justified compared to the quality of the food. And to make matters worse, the wardrobe was pretty disorganized. All in all, the experience was rather unpleasant and I would think twice about eating here again.

We went there for dinner last night after the restaurant was recommended to us. The atmosphere is great and all the rooms are really tastefully decorated. It looks reasonably high quality given the prices on the menu. Unfortunately, the food and service can't quite keep up. We paid around 100 euros for two people - without starter and dessert. But I expect more culinary art. What is served is really solid. But I can get this quality in any steakhouse for at least 10 euros less per dish. The side dishes in particular are simply potatoes, fries or vegetables. Things that you can achieve at home with the same quality. It lacks any sophistication. Unfortunately, only good standards are offered here at premium prices. The service is very nice, but doesn't quite keep up and sometimes doesn't seem quite confident, which is what I expect in an upscale restaurant. Nevertheless, I would recommend a visit if you value sitting in really tasteful rooms.

Restaurant Da Vet Unfortunately, my visit to the Niederpleiser Mill left a bitter aftertaste. My wife and I were looking for a new dining experience, but our choice turned out to be a bad choice. The wait for the main course was almost an hour and to our horror we were then served the wrong dish. Instead of correcting the error, the manager claimed that we had ordered the correct dish. Despite our refusal, we were forced to pay. Sorry, but that's not my idea of ​​good service.
