Vibrant atmosphere, delicious food, amazing staff! This is my favourite restaurant in Cologne by far :)

The food was fine. Very expensive compared to the competitor opposite or next to it.

I ordered here via Uber Eats. The food was good but the behavior of the restaurant staff is unacceptable. After ordering, I was called a total of 5 times by the restaurant and asked to rate the delivery in the app. This is absolutely dubious and a misuse of the contact details provided.

Ordered the tapas via Lieferando. There is a world of difference between the picture and the actual amount of food. Edamame, spring rolls and salad were missing. Absolute rip-off, €25.90 for a mini portion! Never again!

I had the Green Lake vegan dish with “chicken”. It was super tasty. The service was very attentive and super friendly. The service was quick and tidy. The ambience matches the name. The walls are decorated in sections like different storefronts.

What we thought we would get versus what we actually got from the tapas. It was awful and with the little description of what was in it and when it came it was cold and really only had meat inside so my Vegetarian girlfriend could have none of it. €25 for that is crazy. The fried tofu we ordered (photo 3) was barely fried and incredibly soft and undercooked. The delivery took well over an hour so all the food was cold. Would never order from here again and have contacted Ubereats for a food safety complaint.

We ordered from Uber eats and were totally disappointed. The starter platter was not at all as advertised. Summer rolls with avocado and tofu and with rocket and without coriander (supposedly authentic cuisine?!), instead of with shrimp (of course, cheaper for the restaurant), no small curry, no salad, no edamame, no beef in lot leaves... that Sauces were completely different and not homemade (run-of-the-mill sweet and sour sauce and chili mayo instead of Nam Pla or something similar as pictured). So actually everything was completely different than described. The banh mi was also really bad. You can tell that there has been a huge saving on quality here! But not because of the price. A starter platter for over 25 euros for 2 people (Uber eats price) in THE quality and so different from what was described - sorry but that's not possible. We won't be ordering from you in the future - if that's how it's going, then going to a restaurant is more than out of the question.

The interior design is really cool and extraordinary! And the food finally tastes authentic and not Germanized! The service is also great 👍👍👍

The service was very friendly. My food got delivered quickly and everything tasted great. I really enjoyed the home made passionfruit iced tea. The green curry with fried rice and duck was delicious too.

How wonderful and precious is a restaurant that cooks delicious Western dishes in the middle of Cologne city!

I found a Vietnamese restaurant near where I live, I think it will be okay but I ordered a special hotpot for 2-3 people, along with fried spring rolls but it was quite hard as if it had been left for a long time. space and cartilage, the service staff is enthusiastic, the space is spacious, airy, clean. I don't know what I ate here that made my stomach feel bad after leaving the restaurant. I I think this is my suggestion for the restaurant to be able to improve the food better and not let customers suffer like me. I also cannot introduce my friends to come here when the dishes have not improved and the prices have not improved. quite expensive 🥲🥲

The shop is nice, the food is very good and everyone is very friendly. You don't have to wait that long for the waiter to come to you.

A super nice, inviting restaurant with great interior design. We enjoyed the food very much. Both the vegetarian and vegan food tasted excellent, highly recommended. In one picture you can see the vegan “duck”. Nice and crispy with tofu/soy filling. Gladly again 😄

We were very satisfied for the first time but this time it was the last time! We paid a lot of money for ready-made Vietnamese products that were even expired (smelled terrible and tasted terrible). Waiting time was 30-45 minutes even though it wasn't even full. Never again!

We ordered via Uber Eats and I have to say that was the first time that Pho was truly inedible. Smelled like a dead animal and unfortunately tasted like that too... I was very disappointed, even if it was probably just a bad day in the kitchen... the supplier was very nice though.

Delicious Vietnamese food in a very well decorated restaurant. The service was very kind and we got the food very fast. However, we had to wait quite long to get our bill at the end, probably due to the fact that there were more people in the restaurant when we finished and only one waiter to attend us all. The atmosphere could have been improved with some background music too. But overall, we had a good time there.

The toilets are broken and customers cannot use them. They don't say this problem on the phone. Disappointed !

The first time I ate at Ngon Ngon 1970 with friends and family was in March 2022 - I only half liked the food because it was tasty, but didn't particularly stand out (e.g. the Angry Bird Curry dish or br . Rice with duck). That certain something was missing. The ambience may not be appealing to everyone, but I really enjoyed it. The neon signs and other posters may be a bit kitschy, but they convey a special flair. When I ate there again, I tried the special Vietnamese specialties and was amazed. I particularly enjoyed the dish Bún Chả (rice noodles with fish sauce and grilled meat). I really like drinking Chanh đá (Vietnamese lemon or in this case lime iced tea). I also found the classic Bánh Mì (Vietnamese baguette) extremely good. The service is always very courteous and helpful. We felt completely taken care of and comfortable. And the price-performance ratio is also right in my opinion. I now enjoy eating there more regularly because the standard is consistent and the selection is large enough.

Was there at lunchtime with 6 people. Reservation was very easy, service was very good. The food was really great! Lots of choice and great vegan selection. In addition to tofu, there is vegan chicken and even duck. A small point of criticism was the temperature in the restaurant. The windows at the front aren't completely sealed, which is why it was very cold.

The design of the store, which is reminiscent of the streets of Vietnam, is very cool. Unfortunately it was relatively cool in the shop and the waiter wasn't very attentive. Ich habe mich mit meiner Begleitung durch das vegane Sortiment gegessen und ganz besonders die veganen Schrimps waren die besten die ich bisher gegessen habe. Auch wenn man weiß, dass diese vegan sind, ist der Geschmack eins zu eins.

Leckeres Essen, schneller und freundlicher Service. Das restueant an dich ist was kleiner, aber sehr schön gestaltet.

Ngon Ngon 1970s stands out from other Vietnamese restaurants in Cologne for its retro decor and quirky menu. You would be transported back to the 70s with some old decorations. And the menu features many dishes you would not normally find in many other places, actually more foods paired with drinks. And you would not find Pho on the menu, or at least on the Vietnamese language menu (do I not mention that there are more than one menu)

Einfacher Vietnamese auf den Ringen und gut mit den Öffis zu erreichen. Das Lokal selbst ist einfach eingerichtet und hat eher den Flair eines Imbiss. Die Karte bietet einen Querschnitt durch die vietnamesische Küche und hat eigentlich für jeden etwas zu bieten. Die von uns bestellten Gerichte waren durchweg sehr lecker, gut gewürzt und optisch schön angerichtet. Serviert wurde das Ganze von einem freundlichen jungen Mann. Alles in allem eine Empfehlung für den, der die vietnamesische Küche mag.

Waren hier zu fünft Abendessen und waren alle sehr zufrieden… Besonders die hausgemachten Getränke und die Vorspeise mit Garnelen haben mir gut gefallen👍

Ziemlich lecker, gute Auswahl an diverse Gerichte, viel von veganem Angebot. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Sakura Bloom Getränk ist Top :) Da es ein "Street style"-Lokal ist, ist es robust. Aber gut.

Das ist mal richtig gutes Essen!! Die Tapasplatte für 2 war schon echt Klasse- frisch,lecker, ...einfach richtig gut. Wir sind zwar noch lange nicht fertig, aber es wird von Platte zu Platte besser! Und das, obwohl es so unscheinbar an der Strasse liegt. .. Das das Personal unglaublich nett und aufmerksam ist, versteht sich da fast von selbst! Danke!

Mitarbeiter sind extrem freundlich, nett und zuvorkommend. Wirklich erste Sahne. Das Essen war eine 10/10. Preisleistung kann man sich nicht beschweren. Günstig ist es nicht, aber man bekommt auch gut was für den Preis. WEITEREMPFEHLUNG!

The restaurant is really nice, atmosphere Vietnamese streets. The fish and vegetable rolls are great, the peanut cream super. The Noodles were cold in salads. If I came back again I would try something else. The waiter very friendly.

Ein sehr cooles Restaurant in Mitten von Köln… Komm ich kurz zum Ambiente. Das Restaurant ist cool aufgemacht und hat eine coole, leichtfrohe schlichte Einrichtung. Wie mehrere Restaurants an einer verkehrsstarken Straße, was das Ambiente leicht stören kann. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und sehr nett. Alles ging sehr fix. Sie sind immer sehr freundlich, egal wie stressig es gerade ist. Die Essensportionen sind sehr gut. Das Preis-Leistungsverhälntnis ist super. Es werden frische Zutaten verwendet. Auch vegane Alternativen sind gegeben, mehr als nur immer Tofu, gibt es hier veganes Hähnchen oder vegane Garnelen.

Super leckeres Essen. Die Nummer 61 mit Gebackenem Hähnchen + ein Mango Smoothie und der Tag ist gerettet.

Muftigster Vietnamese bei dem ich je war. Nur Fertigprodukte, nichts selbstgemacht, nicht authentisch, dafür auch viel zu teuer. Grausigstes war der Papayasalat. Eine Schüssel Eisbergsalat mit ein bisschen sehr trauriger Papaya obendrauf. Frittierte Shrimps bekommt man so in jeder Tiefkühlabteilung. Zurückgehen lassen, gab aber kein Verständnis vom Service. Wirklich eine 0/10!

Es war wirklich sehr lecker. Wir haben ein Veganes und ein Fleischgericht probiert, beides top. Wir kommen gerne wieder :) (vegane Ente sieht unscheinbar aus, schmeckt aber zu krass)

We ordered one red curry, one rice noodle salad with spring rolls and the sticky rice with mango. The food was good but not amazing. The service was fast and very polite and the price was pretty good. The interior of the restaurant looks very nice and you can see that some thought was put into it. If u like inexpensive good vietnamese food then this is your place to eat at.

Das beste vietnamesische Restaurant in dem ich je war! Das Essen ist fantastisch und kommt in großen Portionen. In den 3 Tagen in denen ich in Köln war, habe ich zwei mal dort gegessen. Das Ambiente ist sehr durchdacht und man fühlt in eine andere Zeit versetzt.

Überraschend guter Laden mit einem super Service und sehr leckerem Essen. Eine Pho Suppe (sehr sättigend), und ein Passion Fruit als Getränk beliefen sich mit Trinkgeld auf 20€. Sehr akzeptabel für den hervorragend und originelle eingerichteten Laden und doppelt so empfehlenswert!!!

Awesome! We had a variety of starters which were all fantastic. Main was super tasty. The Gin-Cocktail and the Bo La Lot skewers in green I recommend. We loved it! Service was quick and friendly. I wish it would be possible to have the neon signs also outside :D

5 Sterne von 5 für dieses Restaurant 😍 Mal abgesehen davon, dass die Atmosphäre durch den 70s Retro Style super schön aussieht, sind das Essen und die Getränke soo lecker. Aber insbesondere muss man die mega freundliche Bedienung erwähnen, besonders der Kellner Tu war so lieb und hat uns hier richtig wohl fühlen lassen 🥰 können dieses Restaurant jedem ans Herz legen!!

Das Team ist einfach nur toll. Super nett, zuvorkommend und super hilfsbereit. Da wir erst nach Schließung der Küche angekommen wären, hat uns die Dame am Telefon angeboten schon vor zu bestellen. Als wir ankamen waren unsere Bestellungen schon vorbereitet und wir mussten uns nur setzen und das heiße und frische Essen genießen. Wirklich lange nicht mehr so einen Service erlebt wie Heute! Das Essen war sehr Lecker aber auch nicht ganz außergewöhnlich. Die Preise sind noch in Ordnung, der Eistee war sehr lecker und erfrischend. Die Bedienung hatte verständigungsprobleme. Abschließend kann ich sagen das sich ein Besuch aufjedenfall lohnt.

Tolles Essen, gute Preise, jedoch fand ich es sehr schräg, dass die Karte für Einheimische für uns nicht raus gegeben wurde. Und die Sprachbarriere ist manchmal bei detaillierteren Bestellungen auch etwas schwierig. Das Personal ist jedoch sehr freundlich!

Einen Besuch wert! Ngon Ngon 1970s ist vermutlich das außergewöhnlichste Asiarestaurant in dem ich je war. Bunte Neonschilder, ala Streetfoodmärkte usw. Das Essen war mega! Hatten Vorspeisenvarianten, auf Empfehlung des freundlichsten Kellner/Kochs überhaupt und leckeren Eistee. 5/5!

Das Restaurant ist ansprechend gestaltet mit nachgemachten Leuchtreklamen - vermutlich angelehnt an Hanoi. Ich war dort mit einem Freund essen. Sein Essen (Ducky Duck) kam schnell und roch gut - es hat ihm gut geschmeckt. Ich hatte aus Mangel an Hunger nur Nachtisch bestellt - den Sticky Rice. Ich fragte extra, ob dieser vegan sei. Mir wurde zugesichert, dass dem so sei. Jedoch kam die wirklich winzige Portion Sticky Rice mit Sprühsahne. Der Kellner sprach leider so schlecht Deutsch, dass ich nicht eindeutig sagen konnte, ob der Rest denn vegan sei. Er erklärte mir auch, dass die Veganer, die in seinem Restaurant essen, nur keine Eier und keine Milch essen würden. Für mich war es ab dem Zeitpunkt zu unsicher, die Nachspeise noch zu essen, da die Verständigung einfach nicht klappte und der Herr offenkundig nicht wusste, was vegan bedeutet. Er weigerte sich, das Essen zurückzunehmen. Für mich daher nur 1 Stern - ein Restaurant muss für mich gewährleisten können, Auskunft über Inhaltsstoffe zu geben. Gerade bei Unverträglichkeiten und Allergien ist dies ein Muss. Zudem fand ich die Handhabe des Kellners mehr als fragwürdig. Das Kosten/ Leistungsverhältnis stimmt für mich leider auch gar nicht. Aber immerhin war es nett angerichtet.

Nachdem ich so oft an diesem schönen und auch gut frequentiertem laden vorbeigegangen bin, dachte ich mir, wir bestellen uns was. Die enttäuschung war sehr groß, vor allem wenn man einen risen hunger hat. Zweimal ga xao ot mit rindfleisch bestellt. War super flott da , da der Laden gerade frisch die pforten geöffnet hatte. Leider war der rest unterirdisch. Es war wirklich sehr sehr enttäuschend, ich kann es nicht oft genug sagen. Das Fleisch schmeckte wie aus dem tk Schrank, ich hatte schwierigkeitrn es zu kauen. Der rest hat auch keinen Geschmack gehabt. Es war nichtmal salz zu schmecken. Ich glaube nicht dass das der standard vom laden ist, kann aber nicht nachvollziehen wieso man sowas raussendet. Wenn man schon nur zweimal ein gericht zubereitet dann könnte man es wenigstens abschmecken. Ich habe das restauraunt angerufen und dem mitarbeiter alles geschildert, dieser meinte er muesse erst uber kontaktieren und mich zuruckrufen werde. Das tat er. Ich bat an dass essen zuruckzubringen, um mein Geld zurück zu bekommen. Er bat mir an zwei neue gerichte zu senden. Um mein Geld zurück zu bekommen muesse er erst uber kontaktieren und er werde mich in 3std anrufen, Ich würde nicht zurückgerufen und ich bin immer noch sehr enttäuscht. Das ganze essen ging in den Müll!!!!

Wir waren spontan an einem Samstagmittag hier und konnten draußen sitzen. Das Essen war wirklich himmlisch! Gerade für Vegetarier und Veganer ist hier viel dabei. Wir haben das vegane Hähnchen probiert und konnten zuerst gar nicht glauben, dass es sich nicht um echtes Fleisch handelte. Darüber hinaus waren die Currys sehr frisch und wirklich außergewöhnlich gut. Für unseren Geschmack hätte es etwas schärfer sein können, gerade das „feurige“ rote Curry war sehr mild. Aber das ist das natürlich Geschmackssache. Auch der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis ist gerade für die Lage und das Ambiente außergewöhnlich fair. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen!

Es ist wirklich ein tolles Lokal. Alleine beim Reinkommen überzeugt das Lokal durch seine einzigartige und hippe Ausstattung. Es hat einen Retro-Flair. Es gibt reichlich Auswahl sowohl für Fleischliebhaber aber auch Vegetarier. Die Portionen sind angenehm, so dass man die Möglichkeit hat mehr auszuprobieren. Es sind ausgefallene und frische Gerichte. Auch die Auswahl an Getränken ist besonders. Jeder sollte etwas passendes für sich finden. Auch das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Kommen bestimmt wieder.

Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert! Kommen zum Restaurant und es ist geschlossen! Aber wir haben keine Absage zur Reservierung erhalten. An der Tür stehen aber die Öffnungszeiten und es sollte eigentlich geöffnet sein. Wir rufen an die Nummer welche an der Tür steht an und fragen nach. Die Antwort ist ungeheuerlich! Man habe einen Ruhetag eingeführt und dies bei Facebook und Instagram mitgeteilt. Weder wurde unsere Reservierung abgesagt noch ist dieser Ruhetag am Restaurant oder auf der Homepage kommuniziert. Solche ein Geschäftsgebahren ist ungeheuerlich !!! Wir werden dieses Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen. Womöglich benötigt man keine zufriedenen Kunden !! Ob das Essen gut oder schlecht ist ist uns auch egal!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Was für eine dreiste Antwort bzw. Lüge des Restaurants. Das Restaurant hat nie versucht mich anzurufen. Der Anruf vor dem Restaurant war eine andere Nummer, weil es mit dem Telefon meiner Frau war! Die Änderung der Öffnungszeiten auf der Homepage stand selbst heute morgen noch nicht drin! Schlechtes Geschäftsgebahren mit unwahren Aussagen zu beantworten ist ja nochmal dreister! Unfassbar ! Einfach zum Vietnamesen 20 meter entfernt an der Ecke gehen. Ist lecker und freundlich!

Sehr nettes Personal sehr leckeres Essen kann ich jeden nur empfehlen. Weiter so!!!!

We came in a group of 6 People and have been very surprised by the look of those neon lights, surprisingly the male waitress who served us could speak fluently english and he did try to give us many useful tips and recommendations related to the food by translating the menu to find out what each one of us looking for cause they have no menu in english, that took a bit time to decide which numbers we would choose, at the end we took his recommendations and the result came out so good beyond what i was expecting, all the food has very good taste being unique flavored which made our evening an amazing experience , we would definitely visit the restaurant again in the near future!

Wer in die Welt der vietnamesischen Küche eintauchen möchte, der ist in diesem vietnamesischen Restaurant sehr gut aufgehoben. Hier gibt es typisch vietnamesische Gerichte wie z.b Pho oder das vietnamesische Sandwich Banh Mi. Die Preise sind etwas gehobener aber dafür bekommt man viel geboten. Das Personal ist aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Das WC ist sauber und gepflegt. Wer draußen sitzt muss sich den Verkehr an der Hauptstraße bewusst sein.
